Luther Elton "Luke" Robbins
Funeral services for Mr. Luther Elton "Luke" Robbins, 67, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Coil officiating. Burial was in Bethsaida cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Robbins died Monday, Jan. 7 at his home. He was a farmer and cattle trader and a member of the Bethsaida Christian Church.

Born January 6, 1935, in Pickett County, he was the son of the late Roy Winston and Edith (Shewmake) Robbins. In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mona Huckeby; and a brother, Gene Robbins.

Survivors include his wife, Dorene (Greer) Robbins, Livingston; a daughter, Rebecca Coffman, Livingston; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Ila Robbins, Livingston; four sisters, Lois Jolley and Evelyn Martin, both of Byrdstown, and Judy Sells and Mary Smith, both of Monroe; four grandchildren, Josh Coffman, Jason Coffman, Kelsey Robbins, and Megan Robbins; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Mike Smith, Jeff Smith, Jeff Norrod, Tim Martin, Ted Martin, and Richard Allen Sells.

Terry Lloyd Allen
Funeral services for Mr. Terry Lloyd Allen, 38, of Hilham, were conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2002, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville with Bro. H.S. Brown and Bro. Howard Dailey officiating. Burial was in AllenŐs Chapel cemetery with full military honors. Whitson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Allen died Wednesday, March 13 at his home. He worked at Hutchinson and was a Veteran of the Navy.

Born October 30, 1963, he was the son of Floyd Elping of Tempe, AZ, and Faye Allen of Rickman. He was preceded in death by a sister, Yolanda Allen; a grandmother and grandfather, Lester and Maudie Allen; and an uncle, Reeves Allen.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his fiancee, Chastie M. King, Hilham; a brother, Rick D. Allen, Gainesboro; two sisters, Tammy Lee, Hilham, and Kimberly Thrasher, Livingston; and seven nieces and nephews.

Norma Faye (Hargis) Vaughn
Funeral services for Mrs. Norma Faye (Hargis) Vaughn, 59, of Cookeville, were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2002, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey with Rev. Tony Phipps officiating. Burial was in Hanging Limb cemetery with Goff Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Vaughn died Monday, March 11 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker.

Born June 9, 1942, in Hanging Limb, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Clara (Dixon) Hargis.

Survivors include a daughter, Kim Leach, Lyles; two sons, Jay Randolph, Ft. Leonard, MO, and Mark Phillips, Livingston; a sister, Anna Rhea Dobbs, Cookeville; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Albert Butler "A.B." Qualls Jr.
Funeral services for Mr. Albert Butler "A.B." Qualls Jr., 89, of Donelson, and formerly of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Rudolph Hunt officiating. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Qualls died Wednesday, March 13 in Nashville. He was the owner of Qualls Insurance Agency, an insurance agent, and a member of the Church of Christ. He was also a Veteran of World War II, Combat Veteran of Battle of the Bulge, Normandy Beach, and D-Day. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion Post 4, Livingston Rotary Club, a 50-year member of Livingston Lodge #259 F&AM, York Rite Bodies, a lifetime member of the Al Menah Shrine Temple, Nashville, and a member of the Livingston Chapter #206 OES.

Born July 3, 1912, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Dr. Albert Butler Sr. and Clara (Ritchey) Qualls. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert R. Qualls; and a nephew, Wilbern C. "Russ" Johnson Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Katherine (McCawley) Qualls, Donelson; a brother, Donald M. Qualls, Malvern, PA; a sister, Betty (Qualls) Johnson, Donelson; and seven nieces and nephews, John C. McCawley, Neil McCawley, Mike McCawley, Ritchey Qualls, David Qualls, Ann Rochelle, and Clara Smith.

Pallbearers were Allen D. Loftis, Johnny Ray Linder, Bob Buford, Bill Clark, Ritchey Qualls, and David Qualls.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were Joe West, Jerry Allen, James Doran, Dale Mathis, Roger Stevenson, Roy Singleton, Jimmy Carter, and elders and deacons of Pennington Bend Church of Christ.

Charles Oneal Jones
Graveside services for Mr. Charles Oneal Jones, 75, of Alpine, were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2002, at Jones cemetery in the Oak Grove Community of Overton County, with Bro. Aron Dillon officiating. Livingston Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Jones died Wednesday, March 13 at his home. He was a factory worker.

Born March 27, 1926, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Arlan Iris and Willie Alice (Handy) Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth (Gross) Jones; a brother, Isaac Jones; and a half-brother, James Berry Jones.

Survivors include three daughters, Elana D. Jones, Arlington, TX, Lavada Skakun, Cleburne,TX, and Cheryl Thomas, Jonesville, MI; two sons, James Iris Jones, Horton, MI, and Thoren Erin Jones, Jackson, MI; his stepmother, Arxie T. Jones, Alpine; a brother, Clifford Jones, Alpine; a half sister, Kathy L. Hancock, Alpine; eight grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Pallbearers were family and friends.

Estil Flowers
Funeral services for Mr. Estil Flowers, 92, of Monroe, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Tompkins officiating. Burial was in Flowers cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Flowers died Monday, March 11 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a farmer and affiliated with the Christian Church.

Born March 26, 1909, in Pickett County, he was the son of the late James A. and Ida (Prichard) Flowers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sina Flowers and Auda Flowers; and a brother, Lesco Flowers. Survivors include an aunt, Mahala Flowers, Monroe; and several cousins.

Pallbearers were Ben Crabtree, Chuck Crabtree, Ronnie Gunnels, Richard Gunnels, Larry Young, and Scotty Gunnels.

William E. "Doc" Andrews
Funeral services for Mr. William E. "Doc" Andrews, 75, of Anderson, IN, were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2002, from the chapel of Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home of Anderson with Rev. Willard Plunk officiating. Burial was in Maplewood cemetery with Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Andrews died Sunday, March 17 at his home after a brief illness. He was a construction worker for most of his life and retired in 1978.

Born in Livingston, he was the son of the late Alford Landon and Rose (Smith) Andrews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Andrews; and four sisters, Ivory Scott, Velma Lamberts, Delpha Neal, and Hallie Mullins.

Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Andrews, Anderson; three sons, Ricky E. Andrews, Jeffery D. Andrews, and Billy Jack Andrews, all of Anderson; a sister, Hassie Crabtree, Springfield; a brother-in-law, Millard Mullins, Livingston; five grandchildren and a grandson-in-law, Jason Andrews, Joshua Andrews, Amber and Shane Lokey, Kira Andrews, and Zackary Andrews, all of Anderson; two great grandchildren, Austin Lokey and Taylor Andrews, both of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.

Troy Delphus Carr
Memorial services for Mr. Troy Delphus Carr, 36, of Shelbyville, were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2002, from the chapel of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Shelbyville with Rev. Jimmy Gray officiating. The family chose cremation. Hillcrest Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Carr died Tuesday, March 12. He was a native of Livingston, an artist, a chef, and former student at Shelbyville Central High School. He was the son of Gail (Mims) Hobbs of Shelbyville and Jerry Carr of Livingston.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include a son, Kristopher Carr, Fayetteville, a daughter, Jammie Carr, Fayetteville; his stepfather, Lofton Hobbs, Shelbyville; a grandmother, Zona Carr, Livingston; two sisters, Kandy Henderson, Murfreesboro, and Tania Hobbs, Wartrace; and a brother, Charles Carr, Algood.

Cordie Allie (Bilbrey) Phipps
Funeral services for Mrs. Cordie Allie (Bilbrey) Phipps, 79, of Rickman, were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, from the chapel of Rickman Funeral Home with Eugene McCowan officiating. Burial was in Harris Chapel cemetery with Rickman Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Phipps died Monday, Jan. 7 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. She was a factory worker for many years and a member of Harris Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.

Born February 13, 1922, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Shelby and Lucy Dee (Murphy) Bilbrey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil Bilbrey and Hershel Bilbrey; and two sisters, Buala Caupp and Bertha Phipps.

Survivors include her husband, Charley Phipps, Rickman; a son, Gary Phipps, Rickman; three sisters, Myrtle Hammons, Rickman, Rosie Looper, Hanging Limb, and Hattie Poston, Algood; two grandchildren, Kevin Phipps and Paige Dodson, both of Rickman; and two great grandchildren, Adam Dodson and Austin Dodson, Rickman. Pallbearers were Edward MacClese, Glen Bilbrey, Mack Bilbrey, Dana Hammons, Rick Dodson, and Terry Swartz.

ROBERT D. DENNIS
Funeral service for Mr. Robert D. Dennis, 91, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Jerry Johnson and Bro. Aron Dillon officiating. Mr. Dennis died Monday, Nov. 25 at Overton County Nursing Home. He was a carpenter and a member of Willow Grove Church of Christ.

Born May 7, 1911, in Clay County, he was the son of the late Alfred and Ova (Patterson) Dennis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ora Dennis; a daughter, Anna Jo Reagan; two sons, Bobby Dennis and an infant son; two brothers, Clura Dennis and Fred Dennis; and a granddaughter, Charlene Reagan.

Survivors include his wife, Irene (Moore) Dennis of Livingston; two daughters, Joyce Sidwell of Livingston and Sandra Brown of Cookeville; a son, Fred Dennis of Livingston; a sister, Florene Dixon of Livingston; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

Pallbearers were David Key, Jordan Reagan, Jonathan Young, Gavin Reagan, Andy Auberson, and Ronnie Reagan.

JACKI LYNN (CUMMINGS) DOW
Funeral services for Mrs. Jacki Lynn (Cummings) Dow, 38, of Byrdstown, were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, from the Brown Funeral Chapel in Byrdstown. Burial was in Smyrna cemetery with Bro. Randy Tompkins officiating.

Mrs. Dow died Tuesday, Nov. 26 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. She was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church in Albany, KY. She held a masters degree in chemistry and taught physics and chemistry at Clinton County High School in Albany.

Born August 30, 1964, in Florida, she was the daughter of Ernest and Creola (Beaty) Cummings of Byrdstown.

Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her husband David L. Dow Jr. of Byrdstown; a son, David Drake Dow of Byrdstown; a grandmother, Maddie Cummings of Byrdstown; a brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Beth Cummings of Byrdstown; two nephews, Josh Cummings and Michael Cummings, both of Byrdstown; a niece, Alecia Cummings of Byrdstown; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws. Eight students from her Chemistry 2 class served as pallbearers.

DON FUGATE
Funeral services for Mr. Don Fugate, 64, of Monterey, were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church in Rickman. Burial was in Pleasant Ridge cemetery with Bro. Gary Pierce and Pastor Marvin Saylors officiating. Goff Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Fugate died Thursday, Nov. 28 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. He and his wife owned and operated Fugate's Auto Body Shop for more than 30 years and Fugate Rentals for almost 20 years in Anderson, IN. He won many awards on demonstrating tools and techniques to trade school students in Anderson Community Schools and established their first Little League playground equipment. He was a long-term member and photographer of the KCAA. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church.

Born January 8, 1938, in Perry County, KY, he was the son of Asbury Fugate of Hazard, KY, and the late June (Baker) Fugate.

Survivors, in addition to his father, include his wife of 42 years, Carol (Norrod) Fugate of Monterey; a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Donna Fugate of Muncie, IN; a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Larry Wiley of Algood; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Phyllis and Ron Leto of Arizona and Norma Noble of Kentucky; a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Doug and Sandy Fugate of New Jersey; a grandson, Noah Wiley; and three step-grandchildren, Brannan Ellis, Chris Ellis, and Brandon Wiley. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

CLARA (PAUL) HANCOCK
Funeral service for Mrs. Clara (Paul) Hancock, 83, of Alpine, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, at Grace Baptist Church in Alpine. Burial was in Hancock cemetery with Bro. John Copeland officiating.

Mrs. Hancock died Thursday, Nov. 28 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a housewife and a member of Grace Baptist Church.

Born May 24, 1919, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Mary Belle (Bybee) Paul. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hancock; a son, Eugene Buddy Smith; two brothers, Homer Paul and Virgil Paul; and three sisters, Lucy Daniels, Bonzie Bowman, and Lena Gunnels.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth R. and Sandy Hancock of Smyrna and Ray and Lavergne Smith of Sequin, TX; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Dale Pope and Louise and Hank Stover, all of Alpine; a daughter-in-law, Anna Ruth Smith of Alpine; a brother, Waldon Paul of Monroe; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Allen Nagey, Drew Smith, Larry Holmes, Brad Lazenby, Clyde Paul, and James Robbins.

MYRTIE HENSON
Mrs. Myrtie Henson, 87, of Toledo, OH, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, in Toledo.

Born February 18, 1915, in the Pine Hill Community, she was the daughter of the late Esco and Ethel Hestand.

She attended Pine Hill School, and in October 1932, she married Clarence Henson, also of the Pine Hill Community. She attended Pine Hill Church of Christ as a child with her family. She was a founding member of Whitney Hills Church of Christ in Toledo. Mrs. Henson, along with her sister, Alice Sims, were two of the original five members who met in a small store in Toledo for several years until a building was finally built. She taught the Women's Sunday School class for more than 35 years and took many correspondence courses from David Lipscomb University.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Bruce Klinck; a son, David Henson; a sister, Dora Denton of Pine Hill; and two grandchildren, Bruce Klinck and Lisa Klinck.
