Funeral services for Mr. James M. Hughes, age 82, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Monday, March 13, 2006 at his residence, will be conducted Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. James Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Taylor Cemetery. Mr. Hughes was a native of New Market, AL, son of the late Robert & Leona Hickson Hughes, worked for IBM and was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include 2 sons: Dwain J. Hughes of Kelso, TN, Larrell D. Hughes of Madison, AL; grandchildren: Jeffery Hughes, Jennifer Hughes, Sean Hughes, Toby C. Hughes, Nathaniel Hughes; step-grandson: Michael Edwards; 5 sisters: Averine Manning of New Market, AL, Loyce Esslinger, Joyce Peek both of Huntsville, AL, Reba Rosebrough of Cary, NC, Nelda Hilton of Huntsville, AL; 1 brother: Charles McClain Hughes of New Market, AL and 4 great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Ms. Vera Oneida Jones

Funeral services for Ms. Vera Oneida Jones, age 77, of Nashville, TN, who passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at the Baptist Hospital, will be conducted Saturday, March 18, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. graveside in Blanche Cemetery with Scott Woodard officiating and Gallant Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Ms. Jones was a native of Jefferson Co., AL, a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her mother: Bertha Jones-Jones, father: Henry Clayton Jones & sister: Eloise Jones Slattery. Survivors include her brother: Jack R. Ferguson of Ashville, NC; special cousins: Bobby Ferguson and wife, Maple, Bill Ferguson and wife, Jean all of Fayetteville, TN and a host of other relatives. Visitation with the family will be Saturday evening beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Blanche Cemetery.

Mr. Kenneth Land

Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Land, age 53, of Kelso, TN, who passed away Friday, March 17, 2006 at the Crestwood Medical Center, will be conducted Monday, March 20, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Carlos Beddingfield & Rev. James Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Stewart Cemetery. Mr. Land was a native of Lincoln Co., son of the late Roy Junior & Lucy Viona Daily Land, a truck driver and a member of the Caldwell Chapel Church of God. Along with his parents, Mr. Land was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren: Dustin Barnes & Jerried Land. Survivors include his wife: Lisa Land of Kelso, TN; 2 daughters: Donna Parks of Taft, TN, April Barnes of Kelso, TN; 1 step-daughter: Christy Gault of Elora, TN; 2 sons: Cody Land of Fayetteville, TN, Jesse Land of Kelso, TN; 9 grandchildren: Leann Higgins, Casey Higgins, Brandon Barnes, Kelsie Parks, Ashley Barnes, Wyatt Parks, Shelby Parks, Lane Parks, Sierra Paige Barnes; 1 brother: Tony Dale Daily of Cookeville, TN. Visitation with the family will be Sunday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mrs. Margaret L. Smith

Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret L. Smith, age 89, of Osteen, FL, formerly of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Sunday, March 19, 2006 at Deltona Health Care in Deltona, FL, will be conducted Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Bates officiating. Burial will follow in Melson Cemetery. Mrs. Smith was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, daughter of the late John & Melissa Smith Askins, a housewife and a member of the Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter: Mary Hall Stuckey & husband, Frank of Apopka, FL; son: James E. Gibson & wife, Norma Jean of Osteen, FL; sister: Nell Marr of Chattanooga, TN; 3 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until noon at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mrs. Maggie Thompson

Funeral services for Mrs. Maggie Thompson, age 78, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Sunday, March 19, 2006 in the Lincoln Medical Center, will be conducted Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. graveside in Kelso Cemetery with Wayne Hastings officiating and Gallant Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Thompson was a native of Etowah Co., AL, daughter of the late A.B. & Ella Spradlin Gregory, a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter: Susan Thompson Dunivan of Murfreesboro, TN; sons: Greg Thompson of Park City, TN, John Thompson of Fayetteville, TN; sister: Mollie Miller of Albertville, AL; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday beginning at noon in Kelso Cemetery.

Mr. Jack Thomas Goosby

Funeral services for Mr. Jack Thomas Goosby, age 77, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Saturday, March 25, 2006 at the Huntsville Hospital, will be conducted Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Billions officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Goosby was a native of Fayetteville, TN, son of the late Jack & Martha Mae Cannon Goosby. He retired from the maintenance department at Amana, was an Army veteran and a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church and he enjoyed fishing. Survivors include his wife: Martha Goosby of Fayetteville, TN; 6 nieces and 2 nephews. Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sadie L. Bolch

Funeral services for Mrs. Sadie L. Bolch, age 77, of Fayetteville, TN who passed away Sunday, March 26, 2006 at the Lincoln Medical Center, will be conducted Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Wilburn Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Booneville Cemetery. Mrs. Bolch was a native of Bell Mina, AL, a seamstress, a member of the Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by 1 daughter: Dorothy Honea & 1 step-son: Mike Bolch. Survivors include her husband: Monroe A. Bolch of Fayetteville, TN; 1 daughter: Debbie Devereaux of Lewisburg, TN; 1 step-daughter: Suzanne Simmons of Brandon, FL; 3 sons: Mark Jett of Hazel Green, AL, Steve Bunn of Fayetteville, TN, Ray Bunn of Taft, TN; 3 step-sons: Randy Bolch of Tuscaloosa, AL, Scott Bolch of Owensboro, KY, Matt Bolch of Atlanta, GA; 1 sister: Nora Cartwright of Fayetteville, TN; 2 brothers: Pat Martin of Morgan City, AL, Jack Martin of Taft, TN; 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Burial will follow in Mulberry Cemetery. Mr. Harper was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, son of the late William Lee & Pauline Gardner Harper, a school bus driver for Fayetteville City Schools and a member of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witness. Survivors include his wife: Mary Margaret Parks Harper of Fayetteville, TN; 2 daughters: Juanita McDonald, Jennifer Harper both of Fayetteville, TN; 1 son: Tony & Queenie Harper of Nashville, TN; 3 sisters: Jean & Jim Brown of Atlanta, GA, Sandra Hardin & Doris McLier both of Fayetteville, TN; 1 brother: Johnny & Margaret Harper of Fayetteville, TN; mother-in-law: Rosa Parks; 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 6 brothers-in-law, 6 sisters-in-law and several nieces & nephews. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 1 until 2 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Mr. Franklin 'Peanut' Wilbanks

Funeral services for Mr. Franklin 'Peanut' Wilbanks, age 67, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Friday, March 31, 2006 at the Lincoln Medical Center, will be conducted Monday, April 3, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. graveside in Rose Hill Cemetery with Don Gatlin officiating and Gallant Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Wilbanks was a native of Madison Co., AL, son of the late John Henry & Lily Kirkland Wilbanks, a heavy equipment operator and a member of the Baptist Church. Along with his parents, Mr. Wilbanks was preceded in death by 1 sister: Virginia Jones. Survivors include 2 daughters: Debbie & Mark Pennington, Lisa & Adam Johnson; 2 sons: Randy & Rhonda Wilbanks, David & Wanda Wilbanks; 5 grandchildren: Wesley & Zachary Wilbanks, Ashley Norris, Christopher & Christian Wilbanks; 1 great grandchild: Trey Haas; 1 sister: Bobbie & Dan Metcalfe and loving friend: Jimmie Wilbanks. Visitation with the family will be Sunday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mr. Wilbanks funeral expense.

Mr. Maso Pullen

Funeral services for Mr. Maso Pullen, age 70, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at the Lincoln Medical Center, will be conducted Saturday, April 8, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel J. Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery. Mr. Pullen was a native of Giles Co., TN, son of the late Matthew & Ruby Inman Pullen, a groundskeeper for the City of Fayetteville Recreation Dept. and a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church in Pulaski, TN. Along with his parents, Mr. Pullen is preceded in death by 2 sisters: Opalee Howard & Adna Reese and 1 brother: Press Jr. Pullen. Survivors include his wife: Maudie B. Pullen of Fayetteville, TN; 7 daughters: Peggy March, Willa Clark, Effie & Israel Coffee, Pamela & Bobby Emmons all of Fayetteville, TN, Patricia & Stanely Jefferson, Darlene & Earl Smith, Diane Pullen all of Huntsville, AL; 4 sons: Russell & Angela Pullen, Micheal Lee Pullen, Mason & Crystal Pullen, Barry Pullen all of Fayetteville, TN; 3 sisters: Mathia Mae & Andrew Black of Nashville, TN, Everbell Pullen, Fannie & Alivin Buchanan all of Fayetteville, TN; 1 brother: Albert Pullen of Fayetteville, TN; 32 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great Grandchild; best friend: Ray Bailey and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Robert 'Chuck' Hillis, age 78, of Flintville, TN, who passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at the Donalson Care Center, will be conducted Friday, April 7, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Hammons officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Mr. Hillis was a native of New Market, AL, son of the late Lonnie B. & Ollie Fults Hillis, a farmer and a member of the Baptist Church. Along with his parents, Mr. Hillis was preceded in death by 1 grandchild: Lonnie Dale Hillis, Jr. and 4 brothers: Elmer Hillis, Hoyt Hillis, Grady Hillis, C.S. Hillis.
