ETHEL BRITTON, 76, of 443 E. Norwood, died Monday at Methodist Hospital after a stroke. M. J. Edwards & Sons Funeral Home has charge. She was a member of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Britton, the widow of George Britton, leaves three daughters, Gustenia Scott of Accokeek, Md., and Arma J. Britton and Nancy M. Webb, both of Memphis; four sons, Curtis L. Britton and Harvey L. Britton, both of Pontiac, Mich., George Britton of Lake Orion, Mich., and Robert L. Britton of Memphis; three sisters, Doris Pitts and Jessie B. Mays, both of Jonestown, Miss., and Ola M. Hill of Indianapolis; two brothers, Harvey Williams of Jonestown, and Freddie Williams of Chicago, 24 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

SADIE S. BRYEANS, 73, of Memphis, homemaker, died of cancer Thursday at Baptist Memorial Hospital East. Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Forest Hill cemetery Midtown. She leaves a daughter, Maude E. Bryeans of Memphis; a sister, Nannie Boyer of Frederick, Md.; two brothers, Reyburn Sharp of Newport News, Va., and Richard Lee Sharp of Lakeland, Fla., three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to LaBelle Haven Baptist Church or to the American Cancer Society.

ELI WHITNEY `BUCK' CHAMBERS, 86, of Collierville, farmer and owner of Big Star Grocery in Collierville, died of acute respiratory failure Monday at his home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Collierville Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park Southwoods cemetery. He was a member of Pleasants Christian Church. Mr. Chambers, the husband of Evelyn Chambers, also leaves two daughters, Shirley Skelton of Collierville and Lavenia Acree of Olive Branch, Miss.; a son, Whitney Joe Chambers of Olive Branch; two sisters, Kitty Vera Chambers of Rossville, Tenn., and Geneva Reeves of Oakland, Tenn.; two brothers, Stuart Chambers of Rossville, and C. W. Chambers of Searcy, Ark., seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Pleasants Christian Church or to the American Lung Association.

MARY G. CLAXTON, 58, of Memphis, formerly of Waukegan, Ill., retired Christian Science nurse with the Hillcrest Sanitorium in Waukegan, died of heart failure Saturday Baptist Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at West Tennessee Veterans cemetery. N. J. Ford & Sons Funeral Home has charge. She was a member of First Church of Christ Scientist. Mrs. Claxton, the widow of Rozelle Claxton, leaves five daugthers, Carol Hazett, Vickie Boyland, Pearl Hazett and Pamela Hazett, all of Memphis, and Gloria Jones of Metairie, La.; four sons, Floyd Hazett and Michael Hazett, both of Memphis, and Rickey Hazett and Terrence Hazett, both of Atlanta; her mother, Pearl Cleggett of Memphis, and 14 grandchildren.

JOSEPH CONNER, 85, of Memphis, retired owner and operator of Conner's Lion Service Station, died of heart failure Friday at Memphis Veterans Medical Center. Services will be at noon Saturday at New Zion CME Church in Moscow, Tenn., where he was a member, with burial in the church cemetery. M. J. Edwards & Sons Funeral Home has charge. He was a member of Wolf River Lodge and was an Army veteran. Mr. Conner, the husband of Ressie Conner, also leaves a daughter, Rosie Hollingsworth of Memphis, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

JOE H. DAVIS, 58, of Memphis, retired from Memphis Fire Department, died of cancer Sunday at his home. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Memphis Funeral Home Stage Road Chapel with burial in Rosemark cemetery. He was in the Marine Corps. Mr. Davis, the husband of Gayle Davis, also leaves three daughters, Donna Leatherman of Memphis, Denise Sowers of Boca Raton, Fla., and Penny Leatherman of Nashville; five sons, Jayson Davis and Donald Stafford, both of Memphis, Brian Leatherman of Lafayette, La., Ronald Stafford of Rogers, Ark., and Dale Stafford of Atlanta; two sisters, Jimmie Blansingame of Greenville, Miss., and Inez Willingham of Columbus, Miss.; three brothers, Louis Davis and Danny Davis, both of Maben, Miss., and Marvin `Dick' Davis of Eupora, Miss., and six grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center.

RICHARD H. FELSENTHAL, 64, of Memphis, formerly of Brownsville, Tenn., managing broker for Spellman Co., died of heart disease Saturday at Saint Francis Hospital. Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel with burial at 5 p.m. in Adas Israel cemetery in Brownsville. He was a former member and Cellar Master of Memphis Wine and Food Society and graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans in 1954. Mr. Felsenthal, the husband of Peggy Pollard Felsenthal, also leaves a son, Richard Henry Felsenthal Jr. of Memphis. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Adas Israel Temple in Brownsville.

She leaves three daughters, Barbara Andrews of West Memphis, and Patricia Richardson and Mattie Miller, both of Memphis; six sons, Willie Foy, Stanley Foy, Gregory Foy, Clifford Foy, Johnny Foy and Melvin Foy, all of Memphis; three sisters, Mary Anderson of Kansas, Willie B. Russell of Turrell, Ark., and Earnestine Long of Memphis; a brother, Calvin Nelms of Memphis, and several grandchildren.

PAULINE DOLLAR GRAY, 76, of Mer Rouge, La., formerly of Starkville, Miss., and a native of Memphis, retired owner of Pauline's Beauty Shop in Starkville, died of cardiac arrest Sunday at Morehouse General Hospital in Bastrop, La. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville with burial in Oddfellows cemetery. She was a past president of Mississippi Hairdressers and Cosmetologists Association, where she had been on the board of directors. She leaves a son, Marvin Gray of Bastrop. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Methodist Children's Home.

Curry of Cleveland, Miss.; two sisters, Shirley Pittman of Prentiss, Miss., and Ida Hunter of Chicago; two brothers, William Hunter and Charlie Hunter, both of Memphis, and three grandchildren.
