RUBY MAE LESTER BRIGANCE, 80, of Memphis, homemaker, died of heart failure Wednesday at Saint Francis Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Forest Hill Funeral Home South with burial in Forest Hill cemetery South. She was a member of Audubon Park Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Brigance, the wife of Nathan `Curtis' Brigance, also leaves two sisters, Lela Salmon of Byhalia, Miss., and Jessie Lester of Memphis, and two brothers, J. W. Lester and Eugene Lester, both of Memphis. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Audubon Park Baptist Church.

JAMIE McCORD BUSH, 89, of Memphis, died of cancer Wednesday at her home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in Calvary. Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel has charge. She was a member of Tri Delta Sorority, Daughters of the American Revolution, Lourdes Circle and the Nineteenth Century Club. Mrs. Bush, the widow of John Thomas Bush Jr., leaves a daughter, Dianne B. Zanone of Memphis; two sons, John Thomas Bush III of Williamsburg, Va., and Dr. J. Kerry Bush of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Elizabeth Perry of Walpole, Mass., seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

ROY CARTER, 72, of Shelbyville, Tenn., formerly of Memphis, retired truck driver, died of cancer Tuesday at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro, Tenn. Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Howell-Lawrence Funeral Home in Shelbyville with burial in Hazel cemetery in Bell Buckle, Tenn. He was an Army veteran and a member of Teamsters Local 667 in Memphis. Mr. Carter was the husband of Ann Douglas Carter.

VICTORIA A. CUNNINGHAM, 86, of Memphis, died of heart failure Wednesday at Methodist Hospital Germantown. Services will be at noon Friday at Forest Hill Funeral Home Midtown with burial in Forest Hill cemetery Midtown. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and Temple Baptist Church, where she worked in the nursery for 33 years. She also was a volunteer with MIFA. Mrs. Cunningham, the widow of John L. Cunningham, leaves two daughters, Elizabeth A. Cunningham of Bartlett and Sue C. Vaughn of Memphis, six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Temple Baptist Church.

EDWARD CURLEY, 75, of Memphis, heating and air-conditioning technician with Temperature Inc., died of cancer Wednesday at his home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Memphis Funeral Home Germantown Parkway Chapel with burial in Memory Hill Gardens. He was a World War II Navy veteran. Mr. Curley, the husband of Ruth W. Curley, also leaves two daughters, Ruby Youngquist of Malden, Mo., and Linda Bloomer of San Antonio; four sons, Mark A. Curley of Las Vegas, George E. Curley of Hernando, Miss., and Patrick J. O'Donnell and Thomas M. O'Donnell, both of Memphis; a sister, Betty Smalley of Bakersfield, Calif.; a brother, Clarence Curley of Las Cruces, N.M., nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

DEWITT EDDINS, 71, of Memphis, owner of Fourth Street Auto Repair Shop, died of heart disease Tuesday at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Germantown, where he was a deacon and trustee, with burial in the church cemetery. Victory Funeral Home has charge. He was a 33rd degree Prince Hall Mason, a member of New Bethel Masonic Lodge 189 and a Korean War veteran. Mr. Eddins, the husband of Margaret Coley Eddins, also leaves a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Rooks; a grandson whom he raised, Wilson E. Wright Jr., and a nephew whom he raised, Ottie D. Golden, all of Memphis, six other grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

JOHNNIE RAY EMARY, 50, of Memphis, driver for Action Carriers, died Saturday at his home after a heart attack. Services will be at noon Friday at Memorial Park Funeral Home with graveside services at 3 p.m. at Mt. Zion cemetery in Independence, Miss. He was a Vietnam War veteran and a member of the Teamsters Union for 17 years. Mr. Emary, the husband of Theda Lynn Emary, also leaves four daughters, Tamyla Carol Emary of Memphis, Pamyla Jean Emary of Horn Lake, Miss., and Brandy Lynn Emary and Kodi LaDawn Emary, both of Memphis; a son, Wesley James Emary of Memphis; a sister, Karen Jean Conger of Texas; three brothers, Larry Dean Emary of Des Moines, Iowa, Ronnie Dean Emary of Gilbert, Ariz., and Glan Allen Emary of Iowa, and a grandchild.

FORREST M. EVANS, 52, of 4322 Arrow Cove, postal worker, died of heart failure Tuesday at his mother's home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Bountiful Blessing Church of God in Christ, where he was a member, with burial in West Tennessee Veterans cemetery. M. J. Edwards & Sons Funeral Home has charge. He was an Army veteran. Mr. Evans, the husband of Betty Evans, also leaves a daughter, Kenya Evans; a son, Marion Nettles; his mother, Margaret Evans; three sisters, Marian Walton, Lynn Ward and Debra Evans, and two brothers, Reed Evans and Bruce Evans, all of Memphis.

MELISSA NICOLE FORD, 14, of Owasso, Okla., formerly of Memphis, student, died of a cerebral hemorrhage Monday in Tulsa, Okla. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Bethel Baptist Church of Owasso with graveside services at 3 p.m. at Noble (Okla.) IOOF cemetery. Mowery Funeral Home in Owasso has charge. She was a member of Wells Station Baptist Church of Memphis, where she had been active in Acts of Praise. She leaves her parents, Russ and Debbie Ford of Owasso; a brother, Scott Ford of Memphis, and her grandparents, E. C. and Edna Hartness and A. C. and Margaret Strouhal, all of Noble. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Open Arms in Owasso.

Mr. Galloway, the widower of Berry Jean Galloway, leaves two daughters, Josselyn Ford and Evelyn Hill; a son, Barry Hill, and a sister, Juanita Macklin, all of Memphis; a brother, Joseph Galloway of Detroit, three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
