MARTHA REBECCA LIPFORD, 79, of Collierville, machine worker for Walker Machine Products, died of congestive heart failure Tuesday at St. Joseph Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Collierville Funeral Home with burial in Magnolia cemetery. She was a member of Kirk Baptist Church. Mrs. Lipford, the widow of Judge Lipford, leaves a daughter, Gloria M. Patterson of Byhalia, Miss.; three sons, Scott Lipford of Collierville, Ronald M. Lipford of Southaven, and Donald T. Lipford of Byhalia; three sisters, Mary Joyner and Sallie M. Lipford, both of Collierville, and Freddie May Hughes of Memphis, seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

ROSIE MATTHEWS, 92, of Memphis, retired domestic worker, died of heart failure Friday at St. Joseph Hospital. Services will be at 12:30 p.m. today at Olivet Baptist Church, where she was a member of the mother board, with burial in Poplar Springs cemetery in Braden, Tenn. M. J. Edwards & Sons Funeral Home has charge. Mrs. Matthews, the widow of William Henry Matthews, leaves a friend who cared for her, Beulah S. Martin of Memphis.

BESSIE IRENE McDONALD, 82, of Memphis, homemaker, died of heart failure Tuesday at Delta Medical Center. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Munford (Tenn.) Funeral Home with burial in Salem cemetery in Atoka, Tenn. She was a member of Forty-five Baptist Church. Mrs. McDonald, the widow of James McDonald, leaves a son, Ernest Franklin Best of Kansas City, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Patricia Wilkerson of Memphis and Lula Houston of Bolton, Tenn.; two stepsons, Cecil McDonald of Arlington, and Larry McDonald of Memphis; three brothers, Bobby Pardue of Hopkinsville, Ky., Ralph Pardue of Lexington, Ky., and L. B. Pardue of Bardstown, Ky.; 23 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She leaves three sons, Michael Earl, Reginald Williams and Judson Patton Jr.; five sisters, Freddie M. Terrell, Curt Lue Evans, Annie M. McVay, Kitty J. Woodland and Brenda Gray; a brother, James F. Williams, nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

JOHN THOMAS PENDER, 71, of 1051 N. Seventh, machinist for Memphis Hardwood Flooring Co., died of heart failure Sunday at St. Joseph Hospital. Mr. Pender, the husband of Ella Mae Pender, also leaves four daughters; Sheila Holt, Judy Holt, Sherilyn McKenzie and Devigint Love; a son, Terry Holt; three stepdaughters, Helen Warren, Margaret Baker and Shirley Johnson; a stepson, John Warren, and two brothers, E. L. Pender and George Pender, all of Memphis, 26 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She leaves three daughters, Chevelle Pennington, Sharetta Pennington and Takedrea Pennington; a son, Remeco Pennington; her stepmother, Elizabeth Taylor, and four sisters, Edith Nelson, Christine Taylor, Vonna Jones and Garinell Taylor, all of Memphis; four stepsisters, Elaine Oliver of Albuquerque, N.M., Joyce Hill of Las Vegas, and Rhonda Taylor and Tura Taylor, both of Memphis; four stepbrothers, Michael Oliver, John Taylor Jr. and Reginald Taylor, all of Memphis, and Frankie Banks of Hernando, Miss., and five grandchildren.

Mrs. Pickett, the widow of Nelson Pickett, leaves a son, Jesse Jackson of Atlanta; a stepdaughter, Louise Turner of Friars Point, Miss.; two sisters, Annie Brimley of West Helena, Ark., and Ethel White of Cleveland, Tenn.; a brother, John Henry White Jr. of Memphis, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Richardson, the widow of Gary Lee Richardson, leaves a daughter, Gina Renae Russell of Memphis; two sons, Marion Beene of Lake Cormorant and Jeff Richardson of Southaven; her mother, Eunice Landreth, and two sisters, Mattie White and Mildred Lewis, all of Memphis, eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

PATRICE ROBIN, 53, of Paris, France, architect, died of cancer Sept. 17 in Paris. Services were held in France. Mr. Robin, the husband of Annie Robin, also leaves a daughter, Virginie Robin, and a son, Antoine Robin, both of Paris, and a sister, Michele Robin Crump of Memphis. The family requests that any memorials be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
