Edwin R Eastwood
Edwin R Eastwood, 88, of Jacksboro, died Thursday, June 8, 2000 at U.T. Medical Center. He was a member of Jacksboro First Baptist Church. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, worked for TVA for 20 years, and was retired from Union Carbide after 23 years.
He is survived by; wife, Edna Lasley Eastwood; sons, Edwin R Eastwood, Jr. of Kingston, Tennessee, and Kenneth W. Eastwood of Hurricane,  West Virginia; daughter, Bobbie J Heineman of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee; special nephews, Larry W Wilson of N. Charleston,  South Carolina, and Walter Lasley of Staurt, Virginia; special niece, Wanda Peters of Flat Rock, Michigan; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends and neighbors.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 12 at First Baptist Church, Jacksboro with Dr. Charles Parker officiating. Interment icon followed in Campbell Memorial Gardens. Cross Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy Aleace Foster
Dorothy Aleace Morse Foster, 88, of LaFollette, died Thursday, June 8, 2000 at U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville.
She was a member of LaFollette Church of Christ.
She was retired from Imperial Reading after 32 years.
She was preceded in death by; husband, Fred F. Foster. Survivors include; sons, Joe Hatfield of Huntington,  Texas, Ralph Hatfield of Elyria, Ohio, Fred Foster, Jr. of Mascot, Tennessee, Charles Foster of Jacksboro, and Robert Foster of LaFollette; daughters, Jane Brown of Kettering, Ohio, Jean Ann Hall of St. Cloud, Florida, Gayle Cross of LaFollette, Sharon Sharp of Strawberry Plains, Tennessee, Louise Atkinson of Rio Linda, California, and Eudena Horton of Hardy, Arkansas; forty-five grandchildren; sixty-three great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 13 at Cross Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stephen Law officiating. Interment icon followed in ?Davis Chapel Cemetery.

Ronnie H Huckaby
Ronnie H "Shilo" Huckaby, 53, of LaFollette, died Saturday, June 10, 2000 at his home.
He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by; mother, Maude Louise Huckaby; and brother, Jackie Alonzo Huckaby.
Survivors include; wife, Wanda Huckaby; son, Ronnie Allen "Pete" Huckaby of LaFollette; grandson, Trevor Allen Huckaby of LaFollette; sister, Kathy A. Kitts of LaFollette; special friend, Charlie Powell of LaFollette ; several nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 12 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wesley Duncan officiating.
Interment followed Tuesday, June 13 in Bakers Forge Cemetery.

Charles Franklin Jeffries
Charles Franklin Jeffries, 79, of Jacksboro, died Tuesday, June 6, 2000 at Oak Ridge Methodist Medical Center.
He was a member of Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall.
He was preceded in death by; wife, Dora L. Jeffries; grandsons, Thomas E. and Charles Todd Jeffries; parents, Tom and Katherine Hatmaker Jeffries; one brother; and two sisters, Survivors include; sons, Edward E. Jeffries of Tampa, Florida, James D. "Jim" Jeffries of Jacksboro, and Thomas L. "Tom" Jeffries of LaFollette; daughter, Brenda S. Larkin of Jacksboro; grandsons, James E., John S., and Edward E. Jeffries; granddaughters, Lori Jeffries, Peggy Steffen, and Vickie Borne; ten great-grandchildren; one niece; two nephews; special friend, Grace Costanzo of Jacksboro; and a host of friends and relatives.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 9 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J. T. Asbury officiating. Interment icon followed in Campbell Memorial Gardens.

Maggie H Lovett
Maggie H. Lovett, 94, of Jacksboro, died Friday, June 2, 2000 at LaFollette Medical Center.
She was a member of First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by; husband, Moses H. Lovett, Sr.,; sons, Winfred Byrd, and an infant son; an infant daughter; parents, Henry B. and Martha Clotfelter Queener; brothers, Leonard, John, and Carl Queener. Survivors include; sons, Moses Lovett, Jr. of Lithia Springs, Georgia, Johnny Byrd, and Marshall Byrd, both of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; daughters, Mattie Lou Nance, Jo Blankenship, and Grace Turner, all of Jacksboro; sisters, Murle Baird of Jacksboro, Thelma Tiller, Mary Tiller, and Gladys Miller, all of LaFollette; twenty-two grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 4 at Cross Funeral Home with Dr. Charles Parker officiating.
Interment followed in Jacksboro Cemetery.

Ruth Williams Manning
Ruth Williams Manning, 78, of Stedman, North Carolina, died Sunday, June 4, 2000 at Cape Fear Valley Memorial Hospital, Fayetteville, North Carolina.
She was preceded in death by; parents, Joe and Ruth Arnett Williams; and sister, Wilma Jane Williams. Survivors include; son, Arthur Joe Douglas, Sr. of Stedman, North Carolina; sisters, Pearl Lindsey of Lambert, Michigan, Josephine Price of Cincinnati, Ohio, Alice Johnson of Toledo, Ohio; brothers, Joe Ben Williams of Loveland, Ohio, and Phillip Williams of Bristol, Virginia; five grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 7 at Cox & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ellis Hoskins officiating.
Interment followed in Huddleston Cemetery.

Luther Wayne Ridings
Luther Wayne Ridings, 34, of Macon, Georgia, died Sunday, June 11, 2000 at U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville.
He was of the Baptist faith and was employed by Spectrum Corporation of Macon, Georgia as District Manager.
He was preceded in death by his father, Luther Ridings, Jr.
Survivors include; mother, Bonnie Garner Ridings of LaFollette; brother, Ronnie Ridings of LaFollette; several aunts, uncles, cousins; and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 14 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Darryl Mefford officiating.
Interment will follow today (Thursday), June 15 in Campbell Memorial Gardens.

Hattie Helen Sharp
Hattie Helen Prater Sharp, 84, of LaFollette, died Wednesday, June 7, 2000 at Sunbridge Nursing Home.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by; husband, Leon Sharp; sons, Alvin Sharp, and Lonzo Sharp; granddaughter, Nicki Preston; parents, Ben and Anne Hood Prater; brothers, Bedford Prater, and Roy Prater; sister, Frances Powers; half-brothers, Leonard Prater, and Frank Prater; and half-sister, Grace Prater Hembree.
Survivors include, son, Willard Sharp of Baltimore, Maryland; daughters, Patricia Preston of Glen Bernie, Maryland, and Rose Price of Factoryville,  Pennsylvania; special nephew, Earl Hembree of LaFollette; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held graveside Friday, June 9 with Rev. Derrick Hembree officiating, with interment icon following in Queener Cemetery. Martin Wilson Funeral Home of LaFollette in charge of arrangements.

Mary Shiflet
Mary Shiflet, 74, of Speedwell died Thursday, June 8, 2000 in Claiborne County.
She was a member of Shipley Grove Church of God, where she was the piano player for over 30 years.
She was preceded in death by; husband, Roy L. Shiflet; sons, Thomas, Gary, and Jackie; daughter, Nancy Marie; and parents, Alonzo and Dollie Davis Mason. Survivors include; sons, Sam Shiflet, Harold Shiflet, and Jerry Shiflet, all of Speedwell; nine step-children Vibert Shiflet, and Ruth Welch, both of Speedwell, Audrey Blake of Encinitas, California, Madeline Roe of Kokomo, Indiana, Joe Shiflet of Monroe, Michigan, June Allen of Hawthorne, Florida, Wilma Patton, Delores Sharpe of Cumberland Gap, and Jim Shiflet of Greenfield, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Rhonda George of Asheville, North Carolina, April Garrison of Oneida, Alicia Shiflet of Harrogate, Thomas Shiflet of Clearwater, Florida, Melinda Shiflet of Hixson, Tennessee, and Ashley Drummitt of Harrogate; four great-grandchildren; and special friends, Ruby Shipley, and Sally and Buster Turner.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 10 at Reece Valley Chapel.
Graveside services followed by interment icon Sunday, June 11 in Moyers Cemetery.

Edna Smith
Edna Smith, 89, of Brookville, Ohio, died Wednesday, June 7, 2000 at Maria Joseph Nursing Home in Brookville.
She was preceded in death by; parents, Thomas and Laura Smith; brothers, Fred Smith, and Herman Smith; and sister, Ruby Smith.
Survivors include; four nieces; one nephew; and one sister-in-law.
Private interment icon was held Friday, June 9. Local arrangements by Cross Funeral Home.
