Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Fairview cemetery with the Rev. Charlie Halliburton officiating.

John F. Riggs, 79, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a retired employee of Dairy Queen and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home with the Rev. Clyde Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.

Benjamin Louis 'Ben' Phillips (08/12/04)
Benjamin Louis "Ben" Phillips, 92, of Hornbeak, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004 at Wesley at Dyersburg. He was a retired farmer, retired manager of Hayes Superette Market in Samburg and retired night watchman at Blackley Chevrolet in Hornbeak and a member of Hornbeak Church of Christ.

Billy Joe Pritchett, 76, of Finley, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a lifelong farmer and a member of Finley Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Dr. Charles Halliburton officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.

Danny Ray Jones Sr. (08/13/04)
Danny Ray Jones Sr., 50, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a self-employed car dealer and an associate of Great River Road Raceway. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Mac Daniels and the Rev. Calvin Smith officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery in Dyersburg.

Wallace A. Oliver (08/16/04)
Wallace A. Oliver, 83, of Newbern died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004 at the Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a farmer, a member of the Main Street Church of Christ in Newbern and a member of the Newbern Fellowship Saddle Club. Funeral services were held Saturday in the chapel of the Johnson Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Burial was in Fairview cemetery of Newbern. Dirk Blevins and Bro. Olin Kern officiated.

Betty A. Pope, 73, of Hobart, Ind., died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004. She was a retired employee of the Lake County Schools Credit Union. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Fairview cemetery in Newbern. Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Curtis Bibbs, 84, of Newbern, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a retired employee of Illinois Central Gulf Railroad, a member of Trimble Church of Christ, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a retired staff sergeant from the National Guard.

Johnny B. Smith, 77, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004 at Veterans Administration Hospital in Memphis. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at New Macedonia Church of God in Christ in Dyersburg. Burial will be in Hopewell Presbyterian Church cemetery in Dyersburg. H.H. Hudson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Teresa "Terri" Smith (08/16/04)
Teresa "Terri" Smith, 53, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of Volunteer Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home with the Rev. Mackie Prince officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery in Dyersburg.

Rev. Sam Webb (08/16/04)
Rev. Sam Webb, of Halls, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004 at his residence. He was pastor of Mount Vernon Baptist Church, a hospital chaplain, police and fire chaplain, retired employee of Snap-On-Tools and a bus driver for Halls Schools. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Brother Steve Gallimore and Brother Randy Jetton officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Paris.

Polly Sharp, 93, of Hornbeak, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004 at Good Samaritan Heath and Rehabilitation in Antioch. She was a homemaker and a member of Crockett's Chapel Methodist Church. Graveside services were at 11 a.m. today in Lake Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ed Endsley officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Alma Atkins, 83, of Dyersburg, died Monday, Aug. 16, 2004 at Wesley at Dyersburg Nursing Care. She was a domestic worker. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Tabernacle Baptist church in Dyersburg with the Rev. Louis Hudson III officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery in Dyersburg.

Norman Lewis Chism, 59, of Southaven, Miss., formerly of Ridgely, died Monday, Aug. 16, 2004 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Southaven, Miss. He was a salesman with D & N Camper Sales in Memphis, a member of Carriage Hills Baptist Church and a University of Tennessee alumni and avid fan.

Alexander Konyk, 87, of Friendship, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a retired U.S. Navy aircraft mechanic, a Catholic, a member of VFW and Fleet Reserve.

Nannie C. Leake, 93, of Halls, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004 at her residence. She was a retired school teacher after 37 years for Lauderdale County School System, was the church secretary, building funds secretary, and chairwoman for Club Ruth. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Matthew Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Halls with the Rev. Theodis Greer and the Rev. Anthony McClair officiating. Burial will be in Love cemetery in Halls.

King Miller 'Kinky' Carmon (08/19/04)
King Miller "Kinky" Carmon, 71, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a journeyman electrician for Dana Corporation and an Army veteran. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Friendship Funeral Home with Ramey Vetter officiating. Burial will be in Elizabeth cemetery.

Dennis Wayne Dennison, 41, of Olive Branch, Miss., formerly of Newbern, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004 at Baptist-Desoto in Southaven, Miss. He was a cosmetologist. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Fairview cemetery in Newbern with the Rev. Paul Hogue officiating. Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Sylvia Virginia Flatt Scobey, 71, of Newbern died Friday, Aug. 20, 2004 at Dyersburg Manor. She was a homemaker, a member of the Trimble First Baptist Church and the Trimble Women's Club. Graveside services will take place in the McCorkle cemetery in Newbern today at 2 p.m. Dr. Bill Oakley and Bro. Robert Ell Hurt will officiate.
