William "Elwood" Houser

William "Elwood" Houser age 80, a resident of Manchester, died Monday, November 11, 2002 at Harton Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born May 11, 1922 in Marshall County, Kentucky the son of the late William Alexander Houser and Missouri Bell York Houser. He was retired from Bridgestone after 13 years of service and is a United States Army veteran having served during World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nella Houser of Manchester, three sons, Dane Houser of Tullahoma, Mitchell Wayne Houser of Smyrna, TN, and Randal Houser of Murfreesboro, TN four grandchildren, Andy Houser of Summitville, Leigh Williams, Travis Houser and Jonathan Houser all of Smyrna, two step-grandchildren, Gina Butts of Chattanooga and Meredith Tocka of Smyrna, two great-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren.

William Ethan Houser

William Ethan Houser age 2 months and 8 days died Tuesday evening.

William is preceded in death by his brother, Jonathan Hunter Houser, and his great-grandfather, William Elwood Houser. He is survived by his parents, Andy and Crystal Houser of Manchester, his grandparents, Judy and Robert Weyler, Manchester; paternal grandfather, Dane Houser, Manchester; maternal great-grandparents, Gladys Taylor, Murfreesboro and Gene Weyler, Chattanooga; paternal great-grandmother, Nella Houser, Manchester; aunts and uncles, Jennifer Allman, Murfreesboro; Alicia and Andrew Weyler, Madison, AL; and Josh Weyler, Chattanooga; maternal great-great grandmother, Alvene Taylor, Manchester and great-aunt, Virgie Gordon, Manchester.

Family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Manchester Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, June 6, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Manchester Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Mill cemetery.

Manchester Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Elizabeth Jane Hover

Elizabeth Jane Hover, age 89, passed away Thursday at her home in Manchester, TN. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Hover is preceded in death by her parents: Charles Henry and Minnie Bell Freeman Zahrend

3 Sisters: Mildred Gleason, Irene Zahrend, and Vera Zahrend

She is survived by:

Burial will follow Monday at Salem Westminster cemetery in Ohio.

Donations may be made to either First United Methodist Church in Manchester, TN or to

Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Ohio.

Ronnie Wayne Howland

Ronnie Wayne Howland, age 48, of Manchester, died February 4, 2004.

Mr. Howland was preceded in death by his father, Elwood Howland; and two sisters, Linda Howland and Faye Uselton.

He is survived by one daughter, Brandi (Matt) Hershman of Manchester; two grandchildren, Alexis and Madison Hershman; his mother, Alice Ferrell Howland of Manchester; brother, Ricky Howland of Manchester; one sister, Wilma Howland of Manchester; three nephews, Matt Howland and David Uselton, both of Manchester and Richard Uselton of Tullahoma; one niece, Courtney Howland of Manchester; four great nephews, Brian and Marcus Uselton of Manchester and Chris and Shawn Uselton of Tullahoma; and several uncles, aunts and cousins.

Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Coffee County Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Marian Stone Huffman

Marian Stone Huffman, age 91, former longtime resident of Manchester, currently living in North Carolina. She was born November 21, 1911 the son Iraby Clairborne and Eldora Anderson Clairborne. She passed away Thursday, November 6, 2003 in Jamestown, North Carolina.

Mrs. Huffman was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Manchester for many years and she was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Lewis Huffman.

Survivors include a daughter, Marianne Wilson of Greensboro, NC, a son, James L. Huffman, Jr., of Manchester, three grandchildren, Deanna Comer of Manchester, Tina Cerullo of Pensacola, FL, and John Carr Bailey of Morrisville, NC and a step-grandchild, April Wilson Smith, 4 great-grandchildren, Michael James Comer, Morgan Brooks Comer, Taler Brice Cerullo, Avery Shay Cerullo and a niece, Carol Yost of Port Charlotte, FL.

Reverend Jay Archer will officiate services and burial will follow at Manchester City cemetery.

Lula M. Hickerson Hulett

Visitation: Friday, September 5, 2003 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM

Lula M. Hickerson Hulett was born in Coffee County, Tn the daughter of the late Will and Anna Sain Hickerson. She passed from this life Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at United Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. She was a homemaker and attended the New Union Church of Christ. In 1943, Mrs. Hulett along with her husband moved to South Bend, Indiana and then returned to Coffee County in 1968.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt Hulett in June 1987, a granddaughter, Regina Young and brothers and sisters, Tom Hickerson, Mary Farrar, Ludie Farrar, John Hickerson, Connie Ray, Grace Bickle, Lillard Hickerson and Edna Gentry.

Survivors include a son, Glenn Hulett of Tullahoma, daughter, Betty Jo Madaras of Manchester, 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Brother Charles Williams will officiate services and burial will follow at Shady Grove cemetery.

Sheldan Mackenzie Hullett

Kaycee Victoria Hunt age 10 of Manchester, TN. passed away Saturday February 1, 2003 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

She Was a 4th Grade Student at North Coffee Elementary School. The Family asks that donations be made to the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. and She was a member of the Boynton Valley Baptist Church.

Kaycee is preceded in death by: A sister Angela Hunt and Grandfather: Jerry Frye, Sr.

Kaycee is survived by: Parents: Roy S. Hunt, Jr. and Tina Hunt of Manchester, TN.

A sister: Kristina Hunt of Manchester.

Brother: Jesse Taylor Hunt of Manchester.

Grandparents: Roy S. Hunt Sr. and Helen of Manchester. Joyce Kirby of Springfield, TN.

Burial will follow in the Hunt Family cemetery in Cannon Co.

Edna Mae Garner Ingram

Mrs. Edna Mae Ingram, age 102, passed away Monday, August 30, 2004 at United Regional Nursing Center. A native of Franklin County, TN she was the daughter of the late William and Florence Finney Garner.

Ms. Ingram was a sales clerk and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion. She was a founding member of the First Baptist Church in Manchester, where in earlier years she taught a youth Sunday school class. She also taught school in Cullman, Alabama for a few years. Following, she was employed in several retail stores, such as Rust Drug Store and Redd's Department Store in Manchester. She was also a member of the Friendly Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church and enjoyed many crafts.

She is preceded in death by her husband, C. H. Ingram in 1970, her son, Fred Ingram in 1995 and brothers and sisters, Ethel Broadrick, Ernest Garner, Earl Graner and Elsie Broadrick.

She is survived by fifteen nieces and nephews and a host of loving relatives and friends.

Burial will be in Concord cemetery Dr. Brenton Cox will officiate the services.

Lee Roy Jackson

Lee Roy Jackson, age 74, a resident of Manchester, TN passed away Saturday, April 19, 2003 at his residence. He was born March 25, 1929 in Knoxville, TN the son of the late Preston and Emma Marie Jackson. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, and a member of the Lions Club and the American Legion of Hillsboro. Donation's may be made to the Shriner's Burn Center.

Mr. Jackson was employed with AEDC at the Test Facility for over 30 years and was a United States Air Force Veteran.

Burial will follow services at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include his wife, Eva Jackson of Manchester, Son, Dale Jackson of Murfreesboro and a brother, James Jackson of Clinton, TN and many nieces and nephews.

Hall Jacobs

Hall Miller Jacobs, age 84, of Manchester, died January 22, 2003

Mr. Jacobs was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Bettie Floyd Jacobs; two brothers, Harvey Jacobs and Cliff Jacobs; five sisters, a twin who died at birth, Hester Wilson, Rosie Hill, Cathlene Hill, and Ella Vaughn.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Mae Ferrell Jacobs of Manchester;

Three sons, Horace Lee (Carolyn) Jacobs of Moore County, James Edward (Linda) Jacobs of Prairie Plains; and Samuel Glenn (Marlene) Jacobs of Shelbyville;

One daughter, Dorothy "Dot" Jean (Jerry) Qualls of Normandy;

Seven grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Burial will follow at Gnat Hill cemetery.
