Sweetland - Brakebill (2003 July 14)
Emily Dawn Brakebill, daughter of Greg and Linda Brakebill of Maryville, was united in marriage with Samuel David Sweetland of Maryville, son of Sam and Patti Sweetland of Athens, Ala., formerly of Maryville, June 7 at New Providence Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Emily Anderson and the Ref. Kevin Frederick officiated.
Nuptial music was provided by Peggy Rogers, organist; Michael Kull, Dave Becker, Sharon Bailey and Mary Frazier, choral ensemble; Skip Dix, trumpet soloist; a brass ensemble; and Leigh Ann Pezick and Rachel Britt, handbell ringers.
The bride was escorted by her father.
Rachel Scarbro of Knoxville was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jenny Manners, Courtney Fulmer, Sydney Topham and Stephanie Davis, all of Maryville, Christy Cummings of Chattanooga and Amy Sweetland of Athens, Ala.
Bess Milne was flower girl. Mason Tortorich was ring bearer. Jennifer McLemore and Pollard Elliott kept the bride's book.
Sam Sweetland of Athens, Ala., father of the bridegroom, was best man. Groomsmen were Josh Theriot, Andrew Healy and Drew Brakebill, all of Maryville, and Dustin Wilson, Mike Ogg and Jason Busby, all of Clarksville. Ushers were Brown Watson and Isaac Cline of Maryville and Jonathan and Jake McLemore of Athens, Ala.
A reception given by the parents of the bride was held in Westminster Hall at the church. Assisting hostesses were Jessie Weatherbee, Esther Sooter, Emily Brewer and Lindsay Little.
After a wedding trip to Playa del Carmen, Mexico, the couple are living in Maryville.
The bride is a 1999 graduate of Maryville High School and a 2003 graduate of Austin Peay State University with a bachelor's degree in business administration. She is employed by the Tennessee Valley Authority as a financial analyst.
The bridegroom is a 1998 graduate of Maryville High School and a 2002 graduate of Austin Peay State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in history. He is employed by Lenoir City Schools as a teacher.

Coulter - Fujii (2003 July 22)
Wendy Elizabeth Fujii, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Fujii of Knoxville, was united in marriage with Brian Lee Coulter, son of Mr. and Mrs. David L. Coulter of Maryville, June 21 at Middlebrook United Methodist Church in Knoxville. Pastor Nathan Malone officiated.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white satin sleeveless dress with sequins across the top and a V - shaped opening in the back with downward flowing sequins. Her veil was made by her Aunt Liz. She carried a bouquet of red roses.
LeCretia ``Cre Cre" Sims of Chattanooga was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Alicia Morgan and Holly Myers, both of Knoxville.
Samantha Eaton was flower girl. Ian Hensley was ring bearer. Kaitlyn Sauls and Sarah Carver kept the bride's book.
Ron Nugent of Maryville was best man. Groomsmen were Aaron Myers of Maryville and Gordon Hardwick of Walland.
A reception was given by Second United Methodist Church of Knoxville. Assisting were Amy Sellers and Mindy Nugent.
After a wedding trip to Hilton Head, S.C., the couple are living in Maryville.
The bride is a student at Pellissippi State Technical Community College. She is employed by Weisgarber Medical Lab as a phlebotomist.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Maryville College. He is employed by Emerson Process Management/CSI Services in Knoxville.

Paul - Arnold (2003 July 29)
Patricia Diane Arnold of Knoxville, daughter of James and Willasteen Arnold of Chattanooga, was united in marriage with Robert Paul of Maryville, son of the late Robert and Hilda Paul, May 31 at Church Street United Methodist Church. The Rev. Andrew Sneed officiated.
Nuptial music was provided by James Rogers.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a cream - colored, halter - style satin gown with pearlized veil. She carried peach and cream roses.
Mary Lewis of Knoxville was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Sandy Anderson - Dean, Linda Menasco, Judy Ross and Brenda Shell, all of Knoxville. They wore mint green and cream dresses and carried peach and cream roses.
Adrienne and Amber Paul kept the bride's book.
Mike Yochim of Knoxville was best man. Groomsmen were Rob Menasco of Knoxville, Chuck Hagegeorge of Knoxville, Kevin Paul of Maryville and Ron Schaefer of Seymour.
A reception given by the bride and bridegroom was held at the parish hall of the church. Jean Kelly assisted.
After a wedding trip to Amelia Island Plantation, Fla., the couple are living in Maryville.
The bride received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Tennessee. She is a registered nurse at Baptist Hospital.
The bridegroom received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Maryville College and Master of Library Science degree from Florida State University. He is librarian at Sequoyah High School.

Reed - Hutchens (2003 July 22)
Amy Elizabeth Hutchens of Maryville, daughter of Linda Hutchens and Ronald and Martha Hutchens, all of Alcoa, was united in marriage with James Bradley Reed, son of Naomi and Murlin Reed of Maryville, March 12 at Smoky View Baptist Church. Rodney Reed officiated.
Nuptial music was provided by Laura Hutchens and Mark Martin, soloists.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory gown featuring a jewel - encrusted bodice in a geometric design and chapel - length train. She wore a fingertip veil of illusion attached to a pearl headpiece. Her bouquet was of yellow roses, daisies and ivy and she carried a handkerchief given by her grandmother, Mrs. Oary Hutchens.
Kim Hutchens McElyea of Harrison, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Carrie Hatcher Huegen of Missouri and Jamie Taylor of Maryville. Junior attendants were Kayla Hatcher and Micah McElyea of Harrison. They wore black gowns with white satin collars and carried bouquets of autumnal flowers.
Laura McElyea was flower girl. William McElyea was ring bearer. Brittany Coon, Heather Small and Carissa McElyea kept the bride's book.
Murlin Reed of Maryville, father of the bridegroom, was best man. Groomsmen were Chad Nuchols of Maryville and Chris Bailey of Washburn.
A reception given by the family of the bride was held at Grey Ridge Baptist Church. Assisting hostesses were Nancy Hall, Sandy Evans and Stacey Evans.
After a wedding trip to Asheville, N.C., the couple are living in Maryville.
The bride is a graduate of Maryville High School. She is employed by East Tennessee Medical Group.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Heritage High School. He is employed by Denso.
