Jeanne Yvonne Saint-Agne Banks Kimmell, born in Limoges, France, on November 18, 1919, passed away at home on April 29, 2005.
She was the daughter of Therese Francoise Gorre and Jean Louis Saint-Agne.
In 1949, she moved to Texas to marry Joseph E. Banks, who preceded her in death in 1977.
Yvonne owned Trans’Art Gallery for 30 years.
She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Charles E. Kimmell, San Antonio; sisters, Irene Marcopoulos, Paris, France, and Anne-Marie Ollivier and her husband, Roland, Langy sur Marne, France; stepdaughter, Elizabeth Turner and her husband, Timothy, San Antonio; stepson, Thomas Kimmell, Helena, Montana; sister-in-law Margaret Kimmell, San Antonio; nephew, Jean Francois Ollivier, Corsica, France; and good friends Don and Marion Mundy and family, San Antonio.

Florence Loraine Griffith, age 84, died on Friday, April 29, 2005 in San Antonio, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband MSgt. James R. Griffith USAF (Ret).
She is survived by her sons Jim, Jr. of San Antonio, Jerry and wife Ginny of San Antonio, Larry and wife Karen of Allen, and Don and wife Yvonne of San Antonio; daughters Vickie Griffith and Shari Griffith, both of San Antonio; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Faith Hooper Lytle

Faith Williamson Lytle entered rest at her home on Friday morning, April 29th, 2005 after surviving over 20 years with breast cancer.
She was surrounded in her final hours by her loving husband William P. Lytle, daughters Ruth Hamilton and Aimee Hearn, sons David and Paul, daughter-in-law Diep Nguyen Lytle, and grandchildren Nathan, Tim, Jae and Ben Lytle.
Other family include daughter-in-law Jane Bierman-Lytle, grandchildren Linden, Oliver, and Sebastian Bierman-Lytle of Denver, son-in-law Brian Hamilton; grandson, Roman Hamilton and step-grandson, Erik Hamilton of Washington, DC, son-in-law Roy Hearn of Groveton, TX, sisters-in-law Shirley Williamson of Mantoloking, NJ and Gloria Williamson of North Port, FL, brother-in-law Byron Hurlbut of Pittsburgh, PA, niece Marjorie Dwyer, Jim Dwyer, and their sons Jonathan and Jason of Boston, MA.
Faith was preceded in death by her beloved parents and brothers, Norman and Ray Williamson. She also leaves many friends all across the nation.
Besides her family who meant so much to her, Faith’s passions included the arts, her pets, her English heritage, social issues, and her spiritual journey.
Faith was born to George Phillip and Muriel Millicent Ray Williamson on March 13, 1923 near Maplewood, NJ where she spent her childhood years.
She graduated from Tusculum College in Greenville, TN.
She then attended Princeton Seminary where Bill was a student.
They were married there in 1947, and she began her long and fruitful life with Bill as national missionaries in the Reserve and Corona, NM ranching communities until 1962.
They spent another 11 years in rural mission church work in the mountain area around the University of the Ozarks, Clarksville, AR, where they both were employed.
For the past 32 years, Faith and Bill have made their home in San Antonio, where Bill was pastor of the downtown Madison Square Presbyterian Church, 1973 - 1991.
The family spent most summers at Chautauqua Lake, NY, one of Faith’s most favorite places. She and the family also enjoyed other vacation trips across the country.
On one of those trips through Georgia, the family stopped at Koinonia Farms and saw the beginnings of the dream of Clarence Jordan and Millard Fuller for cooperative building of homes with people in need.
With Millard’s encouragement, Faith conceived of the idea of trying community home building in the inner-city of San Antonio.
Beginning in 1976 through her work with many friends in the area, including Rod and Patti Radle, San Antonio Habitat for Humanity became the first affiliate of what is now a world wide housing project in cooperation with low-income working families.
Faith documented this story in her book, "We Would Be Building", published in 2001 by Habitat for Humanity International.

Kaye Harris, age 81 passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2005. She was born in Columbus Grove, Ohio, married Robert N. Harris and lived her life in San Antonio.
Kaye retired from Civil Service and worked during WWII and at Kelly Air Force Base. Mrs. Harris also worked at Southwest Research Institute, was a real estate agent, and taught court reporting.
She was a lifetime bridge player. Singing and music were treasured parts of her life. Mrs. Harris was a member of the Texan Toast Mistresses, Central Christian Church of Jesus Christ, and Latter Day Saints.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Nelson Harris.
Kaye is survived by her daughter, Melba Wooldridge and her husband, Dr. Michael Wooldridge; her son, Steven Harris and his wife, Rebecca; her daughter, Elizabeth Carey and her husband, Steve; seven grandchildren, Morgan Wooldridge, Amy Carey, Christopher Steiner, Anthony Steiner, Ashton Adsem, Joseph Finnegan and Shane Luke Harris; one great grandchild, Catherine K. R. Gardner.

Mary Edith Penington
Born in Seattle, Washington on Jul. 4, 1916

Mary Edith Penington, age 88, born July 4, 1916, in Seattle, WA, was the oldest of the four children of Dr. and Mrs. Walter Raymond Jones, Illinois natives.
Edith and her husband of 62 years, Lt. Col. (USA, Ret.) Ralph A. Penington, Ph.D. met while attending the University of Washington and Seattle’s First Methodist Church.
They were married July 25, 1934, in Coupeville, WA. They were blessed with three children, Edith Anne (“Than”), and her husband, D. James Brademas, Ph.D., of Tucson, AZ., RADM Gregory A. Penington (USCG, Ret.), and wife, Eleanor, of Sammamish, WA, and Mary Judith Penington (M.Lib., M.S.), of San Antonio, TX.
In addition, they have had 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Edith and Ralph enjoyed living in many places, during their nearly 30 years of military life, including several in the U.S., plus Yokohama, Japan (where Edith helped establish post-war American youth activities); Oberramergau, Germany (where Edith was president of the Wives’ Club); and Madrid, Spain (where Ralph was attached to the Attache’s office).
During those years, Ralph was assigned, first, to the 41st Division/Washington National Guard, then following OCS, to the 10th Mountain Division (Colorado and No. Italy); 8th Army Headquarters (Japan); Quartermaster Corps (Fort Lee, VA.); Russian Language Institute (Columbia U); ACSI/Army General Staff (Pentagon); and Intelligence. Following retirement, at the Pentagon, September 1961, they resided in West Lafayette, IN. (where Ralph pursued the M.A. & PhD in industrial Relations); Rensselaer, IN. (where Ralph served as professor of economics at St. Joseph’s College, while completing the PhD.); Edinburg, TX (where Ralph was head of the Dept. of Business Admin. At Pan American U., now U.T./Edinburg); then Brownsville, TX (where Ralph was founding Director & First Professor Emeritus of Pan American University/Brownsville, now U.T./Brownsville).
They finally retired, again, to Air Force Village I, San Antonio, TX, in 1978, after buying in and visiting frequently for 5 years. Through the years, Edith was employed as a “Welcome Wagon” hostess; the Secretary to the Personnel Officer for Purdue University Libraries; and as a Field Agent gathering statistics for the C.P.I., for Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Dept of Labor; as well as actively participating with Officers’ Wives’ Clubs and Boy and Girl Scouts.
After Edith and Ralph bought the Illinois farm which has been in the family over 125 years, Edith managed the farm interests; owned/sold several San Antonio rental houses; and monitored/handled personal stocks and bonds. At the age of 85, she “took up” the computer, so she could have frequent email correspondence with her large family, scattered all over the map. She found that everyone wants to visit Central Texas, especially San Antonio.

Evelyn C. Vivian

Evelyn Louise Cooper Vivian went home to her Savior on April 26, 2005.
Evelyn was born on February 7, 1937 to R.V. and Elsie Cooper in Adkins, TX. She graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1955 and married the late H. Taft Vivian in 1957.
She recently retired from San Antonio International Airport after 20 years of service as Executive Secretary to the Director of Aviation.
Evelyn is survived by her two children, daughter Pamela Pawelek and husband Steven; son Gary Vivian and wife Beth; brother George Cooper and wife JoAnn; and uncle Jesse Lee Beck, Jr. Grandchildren include Jillian, Stephanie, Kyle, Sean and Katie Pawelek; and Taylor, Bailey and Camryn Vivian; and nieces Lori Cooper and Cara Farnsworth.

She was born on October 17, 1985 and became an avid writer and photographer.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Christopher and Cody Turella; grandparents Richard and Peggy Strong; great-grandparents Joseph A. and Gertrude Turella, Isabel and Susie Rosel, and Thomas Edward “Boing” Frank.
She is survived by mother Lisa S. Turella; father Dale D. Turella; stepmother Colette D. Turella; darling baby sister Davion D.
