Retha Crockett Johnson
Funeral for Retha Crockett Johnson, 87, of San Augustine will be at 2 p.m. today in Corinth Baptist Church, Sexton, with the Rev. A.J. Collins officiating. Burial will be in Old Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.
She leaves a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Ernie Belle Mims
Graveside service for Ernie Belle Mims, 84, of Gary will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Corinth Cemetery, Timpson, with the Rev. Dale Reed, pastor of Carthage Missionary Baptist Church, officiating.
Mims died April 21, 2005, in Carthage.
Born Oct. 24, 1920, in South Hill, Ky., she was the daughter of Lester and Golden Webster Kirby. She was a homemaker a member of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church, Timpson, and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a son, Joe Mims of Gary; brothers, Charles G. Kirby of Jasper and Bobby Kirby of Morgantown, Ky.; sisters Mary Sue Webster of Morgantown and Helen Vanfleet of Vidor; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. today.

Roy C. Anderson
Roy C. Anderson, 86, passed away Friday, April 15, 2005, in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2005 at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Dale Jackson of Bethel Baptist Church officiating. The Rev. Bob Gwin of Camp Springs Baptist Church of Hemphill will give the eulogy. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery.
Mr. Anderson was born March 28, 1919, in San Augustine, Texas to John H. and Edna V. Hutto Anderson. He was a decorated combat veteran who served our country during World War II in the United States Army 9th Infantry. Mr. Anderson was awarded three Purple Hearts, a Combat Infantry Medal and an Oak Leaf Cluster. In 1999 he was awarded with a Medal of Appreciation for his service in Normandy, France. Last Memorial Day he went to the Washington Monument as an Honoree of the World War II Memorial Dedication. While he was there he had the additional honor of having breakfast with President George W. Bush at the White House. Mr. Anderson was a long time member of Bethel Baptist Church having served as a Deacon, a member of Disabled American Veterans, and of the Purple Heart Veterans Association.
He is preceded in death by his wife Lois M. Anderson.
Survivors include his son, Philip Anderson and wife Janey of Nacogdoches, Texas; daughters, Doris Wheeler and husband Glen of Nacogdoches, Texas and Glenda Faries and husband Kenneth also of Nacogdoches, Texas; sister, Johnnye Martin of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Ricky Wheeler, Randy Wheeler, Debbie Taylor, Jennifer Faries, Monica Anderson and Michael; and great-grandchildren, Joshua Wheeler, Shawn Underburg, Courtney Underburg and Seth Taylor.
Pallbearers are James McLain, Jerome Hale, Fritz Lewis, Bob Skeeters, Mike Worsham and Kenneth Boyett. Honorary Pallbearers are R.B. Haney, Wayne Williams, Roy Hall, Carl Krueger, N.F. "Red" Burt and the Bethel Baptist Church Deacons.
Memorial donations in his honor may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, 429 Happy Land Road, Nacogdoches, Texas 75965, Bethel Cemetery Association, 165 Bethel Drive, Nacogdoches, Texas 75965, or the American Diabetes Association, 1016 Laposada Drive Suite No. 130, Austin, Texas 78752.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 5 until 7 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, Nacogdoches, Texas.

Theresa Kay Skelton
Funeral services for Theresa Kay Skelton, 47, of Lufkin will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, April 17, 2005, in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Revered Mike Neel officiating. Committal services will follow at 3 p.m. in Saints Rest Cemetery in Nacogdoches County.
Mrs. Skelton was born March 24, 1958 in Baytown, Texas, to Buster and Clara (Jones) Tubbe, and died Thursday, April 14, 2005 in a local hospital.
A former resident of Nacogdoches, Mrs. Skelton had resided in Lufkin for the past 20 years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed singing and playing the piano. She had a desire for life, which included spending time with her grandkids, and she enjoyed helping others. Mrs. Skelton was a member of Saints Rest Baptist Church in Nacogdoches.
Survivors include her husband, Michael W. Skelton of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Tiffany and Landon Cain Owens of Lufkin; granddaughter, Ter'Ayzha Owens of Lufkin; grandson, Landon Cain Owens II of Lufkin; father-in-law and wife, Preston and Jo Skelton of Nacogdoches; mother-in-law, Janice Gill of Lufkin; and a great number of friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Buster and Clara Tubbe.
Pallbearers will be Trey Dorsett, Gene Dorsett Jr., Marty Allen, Mark Lanham, David Nance and Warren Lee Skelton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Trapp and Joshua Trapp.

Gene "Nana" Baker
We Celebrate Her Life! Gene Baker, 88, of Nacogdoches, Texas went to be with our Lord April 14, 2005. She was born Genevia May Priddy, August 3, 1916 in Rock Haven, Kentucky to Creed and Etta Priddy.
Gene had two wonderful husbands who preceded her in death; Luke Allen Baker, 40 years, and Lenn Baker, 31 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Hunnicutt and husband, James, of Nacogdoches, Texas; step-son, Dr. Richard L. Baker and wife, Cherry, of Nacogdoches, Texas; grandchildren, Dale Cravey of Austin, Texas, Terry Cravey and wife, Janet, of Burnet, Texas, Tim Cravey of Ft. Worth, Texas, Darla Cravey and husband, David, of Welter of Exira, Iowa, Robin Baker Perkins of Lubbock, Texas, Elizabeth Baker of Nacogdoches, Texas and Isabella Baker of Nacogdoches, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Hannah and Samuel Cravey, along with, Norman Joseph, Sadie Gene and Nina Ann Welter.
The Family would like to extend a special thank you and appreciation to Dr. Richard L. Baker and the staff of Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services are scheduled for 1 p.m., Saturday, April 23, 2005 in the Newberry Cemetery in Parker County, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are to be made to the Newberry Cemetery Fund c/o Royce Jordan, 1751 Newberry Road, Milsap, Texas 76066.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, Nacogdoches, Texas.

Lady Dollie Smith
Funeral services for Lady Dollie Smith, age 87, of Nacogdoches will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Sunset Memorial Chapel of Cason Monk Metcalf Funeral Directors with Bro. Sonny Scarborough officiating.
Amy Stilley will bring the eulogy.
Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Ms. Smith was born August 26, 1917 to Hayward H. and Oma Jinkins Smith in Cherokee County.
Ms. Smith had been a resident of Nacogdoches County since she was one month old.
She was a Baptist and had worked in various agricultural fields including poultry and dairy farming.
Ms. Smith is survived by a special cousin Nancy Ross and her husband Bill of Nacogdoches.
Numerous nieces and nephews also survive Ms. Smith.
She is also survived by her special extended family from Dialysis Clinic of Nacogdoches and Westward Trails Healthcare Center.
Nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cason Monk Metcalf Funeral Directors.

Charles Greggory Cox
GARRISON – Charles Greggory Cox, 32, departed this life on April 21, 2005.
Greg was born on October 13, 1972. He was known for his witty character and deep enjoyment of motorcycles.
He also had a passion for pool and playing Halo.
He loved camping and the outdoors.
He was known for being the one to always know how to turn over a good prank in order for people to get a laugh.
Greg is survived by his fiance, Krystl Sonnenburg and her siblings, Richard, Jason, and Randi Sonnenburg of Webster, Texas, and extended family; his parents, Nancy and Charles Cox, of LaMarque, Texas; sister and her husband, Leah and Dan Wedilich of Lake Jackson.
His memory will be carried on by the five nieces and one nephew that he leaves behind, and his many friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11:45 a.m. Sunday, April 24, 2005, at Trinity Lutheran Church in LaMarque, Texas.

Tammy Rachelle Quinn Adkins
Funeral for Tammy Rachelle Quinn Adkins, 31, of San Augustine, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, San Augustine, with the Rev. Don Lofton and the Rev. Wade Bryan officiating.
Burial will be in Dickerson Cemetery, San Augustine County.
Adkins died April 23, 2005, in San Augustine.
Born March 9, 1974, in Lufkin, she was the daughter of Thomas E. and Barbara Hightower Quinn.
She was a member of the San Augustine Lions Club, the San Augustine Chamber of Commerce and of Grapevine Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, survivors include daughters, Jacy Adkins and Kacy Adkins, both of San Augustine; and grandparents, Jack and Bennie Brookshire of San Augustine; great-grandmother, Irene Bryan of San Augustine.
