Patrick Evan Evans
GROVETON - Graveside services for Patrick Evan Evans, 40, of Groveton were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2003, in the Sumpter Cemetery with Bro. Lewis Jones officiating.
Mr. Evans died Friday, Dec. 12, in Groveton. He was affiliated with the Catholic Church.
He was born Sept. 7, 1963, in Crockett. He was preceded in death by his father, former Trinity County Sheriff Lynn Evans.
Survivors include his mother, Peggy Evans of Crockett; a sister, Linda Crowson of Lovelady; three brothers, Joe Evans of Groveton, Trinity County Judge Mark Evans of Trinity and Worth Evans of Houston; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Groveton Funeral Home directed the arrangements.

Jeanette Elaine Mann
TRINITY - Services for Jeanette Elaine Mann, 75, of Weldon were held Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, at Waller-Thornton Funeral Home in Trinity.
Officiating were Bill Poplin of the Bammel Church of Christ in Houston and Jim Parrish of Burning Hope Baptist Church of Trinity.
Mrs. Mann died Tuesday, Dec. 9.
She was born March 16, 1928, and was a member of the Church of Christ in Houston. She was retired from Texas Instruments where she worked as coordinator in computer services.
She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, writing poetry and being out in nature. She was known as a wonderful mother and as a compassionate and kind woman.
Mrs. Mann was preceded in death by her father, Bryant "JB" Little; her mother, Josie McCaffety; a daughter, Jo Lene Goolsby; two sisters, Myra Olivia Barker and Syble Ione Little; and a brother, Joe Dayton Little.
Survivors include two daughters, Evelyn (Sally) Holden/Enders and her husband, Gerald, and Karen Dell Mann/Wisehart and her husband, Dewey; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Darrell Wayne Goolsby, George Adrian and Allison Mann, Arthur Martin and Pamela Mann, and Timothy Alan Mann; 13 grandchildren, Joe Wayne Goolsby, Jeremy Todd Goolsby, Zebelon "Zeb" Wayne Goolsby, Beth Marie Enders, Chantal (Mann) Masterson, Heather Renee Martin Goolsby, Rachelle Elizabeth Wilhelmsen, Tabitha Jeanette Mann, Olivia Dawn Mann, Josiah George Mann, Karen Renee Enders, Tanya Renee Mann and Naomi Elaine Mann; two great-grandchildren, Breigh Ann Goolsby and Kendall Wayne Goolsby; and three nieces, Renelda Joy Crochet, Kyra Lee James and Jo Belle Merchant.
Pallbearers included Gerald Enders, Dewey Wisehart, Joe Wayne Goolsby, Jeremy Goolsby, Zeb Goolsby and Brad Gardner.
Waller-Thornton Funeral Home of Trinity directed the arrangements.

Franklin Richardson

TRINITY -- Services for Franklin "Frank" Richardson, 63, of Trinity were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Huntsville.
Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, in the Ringwood Cemetery at New Boston, Texas.
Mr. Richardson died Sunday, Dec. 7.
He was born May 28, 1940, in Stephenville, the son of Floyd and Joye Richardson. He graduated from Stephenville High School and Tarleton State University. He joined the U.S Army in 1960 and was stationed at the Red River Army Depot in New Boston where he met his wife of 40 years, Janiece.

Ruth E. Diehl
September 27, 2004
CROCKETT – Services for Ruth E. Diehl, 79, of Lovelady were held at 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004, in the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Trinity with Father Tom Edelen officiating.
Burial followed in the Lovelady Antioch Cemetery.
The rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22.
Mrs. Diehl died Monday, Sept. 20, at her Lovelady residence.
She was born July 26, 1925, in Honey Grove and had resided in Lovelady since 2001. She previously resided in Portland, Texas.
Mrs. Diehl was a housewife and a member of the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Trinity.
Survivors include her husband, Robert E. Diehl of Lovelady; two daughters and their spouses, Connie and Mike Floyd of Latexo and Carol A. and Gerd Knaak of Spring; a sister, Margaret Fritz of Fredericksburg; three grandchildren and their spouses, Lance E. and Stephanie Floyd of Pollok, Michelle and Jason Ballard of Nacogdoches and Nicole and Dennis Price of Willis; three great-grandchildren, Kasey, Hunter and Kirby; a special dog, Tipper; and numerous other relatives.
Callaway-Allee Funeral Home of Crockett directed the arrangements.

Brittany Nicole McWilliams
September 27, 2004
TRINITY – Services for Brittany Nicole McWilliams, 18, of Trinity were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004, in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel of the Chimes with the Rev. Mike Loftin, pastor of the River of Life Church officiating.
Burial followed in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Trinity.
Miss McWilliams died Friday, Sept. 17, in Trinity following a battle with leukemia.
She was born Feb. 14, 1986, in Huntsville Memorial Hospital and was a student. She loved to baby-sit and was loved by all of her baby-sitting friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Cari Ellen Hopkins.
Survivors include her parents, Mary Lynn and Rick Winnett and Carl A. “Bubba” McWilliams; maternal grandparents, Ken and Dorothy Hopkins, Doris Hopkins and Yvonne “Nami” Yeager; paternal grandparents, Carl A. and Linda McWilliams Jr.; two sisters, Marissa and Olivia; a brother, Cole Steven; a number of aunts and uncles, Regina and Marc Rodriquez, Misty Woods, Lani and Leslie Manis, Dwight Hopkins, Rick and Felicity Winnett Jr., Russell and Tisha Winnett, Lois and Chad Wadellmuellar, James and Kimberly Wadell, Linda and Fred Patton and Robert Davidson; numerous cousins; and the numerous children she cared for as a baby-sitter.
Pallbearers included Lamar McWilliams, Joey Anthony, Steven Bass, Michael Lash, Curtis Emmons, ‘Giz” Simmons, Emmanuel “Popcorn” Blanton and Mason Daniels.
Trinity Funeral Home directed the arrangements.

Harold Lloyd Dewberry
September 20, 2004
TRINITY – Services for Harold Lloyd Dewberry, 58, of Shiro were held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel of the Chimes.
Mr. Dewberry died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, at St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan.
He was born Aug. 27, 1946, in Houston and was employed as a courier driver for the University of Texas Medical Branch.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Dewberry of Shiro; five sons and their spouses, Michael and Anna Dewberry, Monte Dewberry, Bryan Dewberry, Aaron Dewberry and Jason and Katherine Dewberry; two daughters and a son-in-law, Kimberly and Darrell Turner and Andrea Hill; step-children, Judy Wallace and Lee Goina; one brother, Edwin Dewberry; numerous grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Trinity Funeral Home directed the arrangements.

Gordon Butler Mangum
September 20, 2004
TRINITY – Services for Gordon Butler Mangum, 88, of Trinity were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, at Dorcas Wills Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Leroy Brown officiating.
Burial followed in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Trinity.
Mr. Mangum died Friday, Sept. 10, in Trinity.
Born May 1, 1916, he was a 1933 graduate of Trinity High School and attended Texas A&M University for two years.
During his life he owned and operated a number of business enterprises in the Trinity area. As a young man, he owned a Trinity ice delivery company and operated a mule team logging business. In the 1950s, he owned and operated a Pontiac dealership and worked as a Gulf Oil gasoline distributor. He worked for Gulf-Chevron for more than 49 years.
Mr. Mangum also owned and operated a local Gulf Oil service station for more than 30 years.
He was a 50-year member of the Joe Werner Masonic Lodge No. 553 of Trinity and was a charter member of the Trinity Rotary Club. He was the recipient of two Paul Harris Awards and was a Shriner.
Mr. Mangum’s hobbies included football, fishing, yard work and decorating his home in lights for Christmas. His holiday decorations earned him numerous awards over the years.
He also was a member of the Dorcas Wills Memorial Baptist Church of Trinity.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Francis Bell Mangum, and two brothers, Ralph Mangum and Murray Mangum.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Mangum; two daughters and their spouses, Teresa and Kevin Searcy and Deanna and Freddie Roberts; and five grandchildren, Kaylyn Searcy, Kinley Searcy, Olivia Roberts, Samantha Roberts and Grant Roberts.
Waller-Thornton Funeral home of Trinity directed the arrangements.

James Walker Martin
September 20, 2004
TRINITY – Services for James Walker Martin, 86, of Trinity were held Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, in the Glendale Baptist Church.
Burial followed in the Holly Cemetery.
Mr. Martin died Aug. 28 in Houston.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Martin; two sons and their spouses, James Paul and Iris Martin of Spring and John Joseph and Margaret Martin; a brother and his spouse, John and Frances Martin of California; and a granddaughter and her spouse, Lisa and Clayton Sikes of Fort Worth.
The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Glendale Baptist Church Building Fund.
Waller-Thornton Funeral Home of Trinity directed the arrangements.

William Derrell Martin
September 20, 2004
TRINITY – Services for William Derrell Martin, 65, of Trinity were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004, in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel of the Chimes with Terry Bryan, pastor of the Midway Tabernacle, officiating.
Burial followed in George Cemetery near Normangee.
Mr. Martin died Tuesday, Aug. 31, in the Huntsville Health Care Center.
Born July 26, 1939 in Normangee, he was a resident of the Trinity Cove addition east of Trinity. He was employed as a contractor/home builder and served for many years as president of the Trinity Community Fair Association.
Survivors include his wife, Fanchen Louise Bryan Martin; seven children and their spouses, John and Debra Howell of Dodge, Opal and Terry Coleman of Midway, Ronnie Howell of Dodge, Derrell Martin Jr. of Trinity, Darnell Corliss of Huntsville, Darrell Wayne and Stayce King of Huntsville and Thomas Martin of Smithville; four brothers and their spouses, Curtis and Sharon Martin of Longview, W.C. and Mary Jane Bearden of Madisonville, A.L. and Diane Martin of Houston, Taft and Helen Martin of Houston; two sisters and their spouses, Pat and Kenneth High and Jeanette and Gordon King, all of Houston; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers included Ted Wallace and Derrell Wayne King.
Trinity Funeral Home directed the arrangements.
