Mrs. Prim

Bobbie Sue Garrett Prim, 63, died at her home in Dallas Friday June 25, 2004.
Graveside funeral services will be held June 30, 2004 at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Keith Felton and Rev. Wayne Roberts officiating.
She was born May 20, 1941 at Eden, the daughter of Wesley and Zelda McBride Garrett. She was an infant when the family moved to Hamilton County. She attended school in Hamilton and graduated from Hamilton High School.
She has made her home in Dallas where she was retired from Dallas County after service as a District Court Clerk for a judge.
Survivors include her two children, Debra Lynn Roberts of Euless, John Taylor Leeth of Hamilton; her mother Mrs. Wesley (Zelda) Garrett of Hamilton; two grandchildren, Ashley Marie Metz, John Nevin Walton, a sister, Pat McAnally of Hamilton and one brother Charles Garrett of Hamilton.
Pallbearers were Hayden Havens, Nevin Walton, Tim Leeth, David McAnally and Brent McAnally.

Mrs. Smith

Georgia Sibyl Faye Smith-Smith 83 passed away at Hamilton June 28, 2004. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday July 5, 2004 at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wesley Jones officiating.
She was born June 12, 1921 in Hamilton County, the son of Alvie Elmer and Myrtle Ann Jones Smith.
She graduated from Pottsville High School in 1940 and later that year on Dec. 12, she married Richard Sidney Smith in Hamilton.
In her early years she was employed at James Studio in Hamilton and during Richard’s Air Force years at the Post Exchange in Nevada.
The couple moved to New Mexico in 1951 where they resided until 1982 when they moved back to Hamilton.
Sibyl received a diploma from The Hollywood School of Beauty Culture in 1956 and was employed as a Cosmetologist for a few years. She was mostly a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her parents; five older sisters; two younger half-sisters; three nephew; one niece and two half-nephews.
Survivors include her hus-band, Richard Smith; a daughter Sharon Smith-Green-Wikholm both of Hamilton; four grandsons, Shawn A. Green and Sloan A. Green of Colo., Saul A. Green of Arkansas, Shay A. Green of Utah; six great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters; a half sister, Margie Roberson of Arlington; three nieces; a nephew; seven half-nieces and four half-nephews.
Mrs. Smith’s ashes will be taken to Colorado by her daughter and buried in Fort Logan National Cemetery where Richard’s ashes will be placed upon his passing.

Mrs. Oglesby

Fay West Oglesby, 80, died Oct. 7, 2004 at Hamilton. Funeral services were Oct. 9 at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marvin Andrews and Rev. Wesley Jones officiating. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton.
She was born July 12, 1924 at Adamsville, the daughter of Knighton and Ocie Taylor West. She was married to J.W. (Punch) Oglesby, August 1, 1941 at Crawford. He preceded her in death on December 12, 1996.
The couple made their home in the Lanham community where they ranched and trained horses. She was a champion barrel racer winning many titles on horses that she and Punch trained. They also trained horses for others to compete with.
Fay and Punch were devoted to each other, traveling the country to rodeos where Fay barrel raced and Punch competed in roping, reining and cutting. Fay enjoyed making all of her own western outfits.
Mrs. Oglesby was preceded in death by one son, J. W. (Jimmy) Oglesby III on Dec. 2, 1981 and a sister Pauline Eidson.
Survivors include four grandchildren, Amye Oglesby Craig and her husband Ken of Lanham; J.W. (Jimmy) Oglesby, IV and wife Becky of Hamilton; Joseph Verne West Oglesby of Hamilton and Susann Gae Oglesby Tucker and husband Steven of Lanham; great-grandchildren, Stephen Joseph Oglesby, USN; Julie Susann Oglesby, Kameron Elizabeth Craig, Lariat Dale Allen Gartman, Staci Dyann Oglesby, Lane Susann Gartman, Amye Katherine Craig, Joesi Rae Oglesby, Jesse James West Oglesby, Chance Quinn Oglesby, Jace Willie Oglesby, Jenna Fay Oglesby, Janna Rhea Oglesby, Houston Cane Tucker, Shelby Cheyenne Oglesby and Brooke Elizabeth Tucker; three sisters, Irene Sargent of Iowa Park; Ada Kalina of Solvaing, Calif. and Nada Sullivan of Granbury.
Honorary Pallbearers were Forrest McPherson, Robert Jones, Junior Crosby, Tex Allison, Marie Massingill, Alice Faye Waddill and Stephen Joseph Oglesby, USN.
Pallbearers: Lariat Gartman, Dr. Bill Craig, Ricky Fuqua, Larry Kinney, Scott Massingill, Dan Willis and Glen Lawson.
Memorials may be made to Barn Church, Lanham Methodist Church or Texas Cowgirl Hall of Fame, Fort Worth, Texas.

Mr. Reed

Jack Reed, 81, of China Spring, native of Hamilton County, died Oct. 9, 2004, as a result of a brain aneurysm. A celebration of his life was held Oct. 12 at OakCrest Funeral Home of Waco with the Rev. Darrell Price officiating. Burial followed in China Spring Cemetery.
Mr. Reed was born March 21, 1923, in Hamilton County, the son of Will and Bettie (Gordon) Reed. He was married to Norma (Key) Kruger on February 6, 1982.
He was a project superintendent for R.G. LeToureau, Inc. in Liberia, West Africa, and Lima, Peru. He supervised several earth moving projects, including the Waco Dam reconstruction. He designed, built, and operated Oak Hill Raceway in Henderson, Texas.
Mr. Reed’s skill as a custom bootmaker for more than 40 years led to the founding of the annual Boot, Leather, and Saddle Round-Up in the early 1990’s. He taught his bootmaking craft to almost 30 students. He was an Eagle Scout, and a former Scoutmaster.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Craig.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Reed of China Spring; four sons, Jim Reed of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; Ted Reed of Henderson; Lex Reed of Dallas, and Larry Kruger of Waco; three daughters, Suzanne Reed of Henderson, Diane Brown and husband Larry of Rockwall; and Kim Price and husband Darrell of Waco; brother, Pete Reed and wife Maxine of Burnet; sister, Alice Willis and husband Howard of Burnet; seven grandchildren; and several special nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Brian McCormick, Kevin McCormick, Matthew Price, Patrick Kruger, D.W. (Wes) Reed, and Dionicio Leal.
Memorials may be made to the Boot, Leather, and Saddle Round-Up.

Mr. Wilson

Grady Hamilton Wilson, 82, died Oct. 7 in Hamilton. Graveside services were held Oct. 8 in Jonesboro Cemetery at Jonesboro with Rev. James Marrs officiating.
Mr. Wilson was born Nov. 5, 1922 in Jonesboro, the son of Elzy Dow Wilson and Susan Jewell Walker Wilson. He graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1941.
Mr. Wilson was working as a carpenter when he entered the Army on February 23, 1943 at Dallas. During World War II he served in the Pacific area earning the American Theater Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star and one Bronze Arrowhead, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Ribbon with three Overseas Service Bars. He was discharge from the Army on January 14, 1946 at Fort Sam Houston Separation Center in San Antonio, Texas.
On February 10, 1946 at Fort Worth, Texas he was married to Marjorie Morrison. They made their home in Jonesboro until 1950 when they moved to Belton and lived to 1988.
Mr. Wilson worked at Fort Hood with the Department of Housing Engineering and Building Maintenance for 34 years retiring in from civil service in 1980. He served as a Boy Scout leader, 4-H Leader, live Stock Director at the Bell County Livestock Show for 15 years and was one of the original members of the Bell County Sheriff Posse. After retiring and moving back to Jonesboro he sold, installed and repaired overhead doors as long as his health permitted.
He oversaw the Jonesboro Cemetery and was a long-time member of the Jonesboro Fire Department where he served as Chief for many years. He was a member of the Jonesboro Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Wilson of Jonesboro; two daughters; France Wilson Brown and her husband Terry of Purmela and Mary Wilson Esseltine and her husband John of Moody; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild and one sister, Beth Cousino of Monroe, MI.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one son Charles Earl Wilson.

Mr. Goerdel

Troy Alan Goerdel 43 died Oct. 4, 2004. Memorial services were held Oct. 8 in Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville with Pastor Peter Anderson officiating.
He was born August 6, 1961 at Goldthwaite, the son of Olin and Virginia Cox Goerdel.
Mr. Goerdel was an employee of Alexander Moulding Mill a farmer and stockman and an avid deer hunter and outdoorsman.
Survivors include his three sons, Brian Alan Goerdel, Kristopher Ryan Goerdel and Derek Rea Goerdel all of Pottsville, three sisters Shirley Burt of Gatesville, Judy Pax of Priddy and Loreca (Jane) Christoph of Tennessee and one brother Clayton Goerdel of Brownwood and by a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
He is preceded in death by one bother, Larry Goerdel.

Mr. Stanford
Richard Gerald (“Gramps”), Stanford, 90, died at Hamilton Dec. 7, 2004. Graveside funeral services were held Dec. 11 at Live Oak Cemetery. The service was officiated by his great-grandson, Phillip Martin of Stephenville and Elder Paul McClain of Waco.
He was born March 8, 1914, the son of Richard Hiram and Edna Pearl Stanford of Hamilton.
Mr. Stanford attended Hamilton County schools, playing football and running track, where he held the track record in Hamilton for a number of years. He was an aircraft structural mechanic, working in Ft. Worth and Dallas areas. He moved back to Purmela in 1975 making his home in the Ohio community.
Mr. Stanford was ordained into the ministry in 1956, serv-ing churches in Farmersville, White Settlement, Hamilton, Comanche and Haskell. The most important things in his life were his love for his Savior, his church and his family. He was a devoted and much loved husband, father, and minister
He was preceded in death by, Gladys, his wife of 60 years, in 1994 and a son, James Richard Stanford, in 1979.
Survivors include Gerry Brock and husband Claude, Gail Stanford, T.J. Stanford, Myrna Beth Thompson and husband, Pete, and Linda Morgan and husband Don, 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grand-children and four great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were his grand-sons, James Richard Stanford, Jr., Mike Temple, Chris Morgan, Craig Morgan, Jay Stanford, Bart Thompson and Joe Richard Brock.

Mrs. Croker
Neva Croker, 94, of Coman-che died Dec. 7, 2004 at Comanche County Consolidated Hospital. Funeral services were held Dec. 11 in the Hall and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Boone officiating. Burial was in the Indian Creek Cemetery east of Comanche.
She was born July 2, 1910 in Comanche, the daughter of Felix Reed and Sallie Jane Franklin Reed. She was married to Charles Wesley Croker on Feb. 12, 1925. He preceded her in death in 1983. Mrs. Croker was a homemaker and a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Comanche.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Ann Cottrell and husband Travis of Ft. Stockton; two sons, Jack Croker and wife Vessie of Wink and Charles Croker and wife LaVerne of Hamilton; a daughter-in-law, Gladys Croker of Comanche, 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Ken-neth Croker on Dec. 5, 2002.

Mrs. Welch
Myrle Welch, 69, died Dec. 9, 2004 at her home in Jonesboro. A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
She was born July 23, 1935 in Hamilton County, the daughter of Franke and Alice Burleson.
Mrs. Welch was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, always willing to help her family and anyone in need. She loved her family and fishing. She enjoyed her life to the fullest and left her family with many good memories.
She is preceded in death by her father, Franke Burleson; husband, Pete Welch and sister, Faye Thrasher.
Survivors include her mother, Alice Reesing of Cranfills Gap; two brothers, Paul Burleson and wife Loraine and Kenneth Burleson, all of Cranfills Gap; three daughters, Fran Teten and husband Lance of Carlton, Joyce Ragsdale and husband Michael and Lois Catron and husband Herman, all of Georgetown; two sons, Lee Witte of Carlton and James Witte and wife Debbie of Ar-lington; 11 grandchildren, Jason Witte, Jeremy Witte, Cristy Suarez, Stacy Witte, Ryan Witte, Amy Sossamon, Justin Witte, Jennifer Teten, Amanda Gibson, Melissa Ragsdale and Jodie Golla; 10 great-grandchildren; a special aunt, Inez Lee of Cranfills Gap and a special friend, Glenda Walker of Jonesboro.

Mrs. McDonald
Lula Mae (Mama Lu) Sutton Davis McDonald died Dec. 12, 2004 at Forest Oaks Nursing Home in Hamilton.
Services were held Dec. 15 at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
She was born May 10, 1910 near Atlanta, LA, the daughter of Thomas H. and Melinda Gonna Lowery Sutton.
She was married to Carl Houston Davis. He preceded her in death after a car accident. They had three children, Bill of LaFayette, La., Fred of Yorktown, and Merle Wittner of Waco.
She was then married to Clifford Warren McDonald on March 24,1956 after the death of his first wife and joined in the upbringing of three boys. Bert McDonald of May, Murray McDonald of Hutto, and Don McDonald of Hamilton.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, her parents, brothers, Thomas, Milton, Charlie and Howard and one sister Virginia.
Survivors include children, Bill and Shirley Davis of LaFayette, La; Fred and Susie of Yorktown, Merle and Ed Wittner of Waco, Bert and Glynn McDonald of May, Murray and Joscelyn McDonald of Hutto, and Don and Cheryl McDonald of Hamilton; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Special family friends were neighbors Bill and Patricia Roy and Orville and Nellie Hall of Lake Buchanan.
Pallbearers were Bill Roy, Orville Hall, Don McDonald, Ronnie McDonald, Patrick McDonald, Scott Massingill and Dick.
