Mr. Westfall

Boyd Lane Westfall, 53 of Gustine, died July 5, 2003 at his home. Graveside funeral services were held July 8 at Evergreen Cemetery in Gustine with Rev. Ronnie Calcote officiating.
Mr. Westfall was born Feb. 27, 1950 in Gustine, the son of Wilmer J. and Eva Wenona Lane Westfall. He lived in the Gustine area most of his life.
He was married to Nina West on March 29, 1996 at Buchanan Dam. He was a self-employed building contractor and a member of the Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Wenona Westfall and a brother, W.J. Westfall.
Survivors include his wife Nina of Gustine; his father, Wilmer Westfall and wife Leda Mae of Gustine; a brother, Royce Westfall and wife Dianne of Fort Worth; a sister, Delores Seago and husband Carroll of Gustine; a son, Shannon Westfall and wife Mickey of Gustine; a daughter, Brandee Guyton and husband Jeff of Irving; a stepson, Daniel Benedict and wife Dusty of Gustine and seven grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Gustine Volunteer Fire Department, P.O Box 98, Gustine, TX 76455.

Mrs. Wiedebusch

Agatha Ann Wiedebusch, 71, died July 3, 2003 at Stephenville, Texas. Funeral services were held July 6 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Hamilton with burial in Indian Gap Cemetery, Father Stan Sullivan officiating.
Mrs. Wiedebusch was born March 23, 1932 at Mound, the daughter of the late Oscar Fortune and Frankie Corrigan Fortune.
She was married to George H. Wiedebusch on February 17, 1949. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1993.
Mrs. Wiedebusch retired in 1996 after teaching for twenty-five years. She was a primary school teacher where she taught music, special education classes and others during her career.
After retirement she moved back to Hamilton where she enjoyed remodeling the old home place. She was also active in the Hamilton Historical Society, working endlessly with the museum project. She was also a member of the Hamilton Genealogical Society and a strong hard worker and supporter of her church, St. Mary’s Episcopal.
Survivors include her son, Paul Wayne Wiedebusch and his wife Brenda of Stephenville; two grandchildren, Derek and Kayla Wiedebusch of Stephenville and a sister, Emma Jane Williams of College Station.
Pallbearers were James Banks, James Hooser, Quinn Williams, Fred Williams, Wally Williams and Joe Williams.

Mr. Jahns
Fred Otto Jahns, 102, died at Hamilton July 4, 2003. Funeral services were held July 6 at St. John Lutheran Church in Hamilton with Rev. Russell Nebhut officiating. Interment followed at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery at Pottsville.
Mr. Jahns was born November 18, 1900 at Lyons in Burleson County. He was married to Emma Wendland on November 2, 1929 at Pottsville.
Mr. Jahns retired from L.T.V. in 1961. He and Mrs. Jahns were charter members of Grace Lutheran Church and now members of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Hamilton.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Jahns of Hamilton; six children, Irene Zaruba, Ted Jahns, Charles Jahns, all of Hamilton, Margaret Kohler and Diane Brown, both of Arlington and Leo Jahns of New Braunfels; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lilly Wendland of Arlington, Nelda Eggen of Stephenville and one brother Albert Jahns of Dallas.
Pallbearers were Ted Jahns, Leo Jahns, Charles Jahns, Elton Kohler, Stanley Brown and John Zaruba.

Mrs. Marney

Virginia E. Marney died March 12, 2004 at Forrest Ridge Nursing Home. Private services were held March 16 at St. John Lutheran Church in Hamilton with Pator Russell Nebhut and Vicar Keith Reich officiating.
She was born May 4, 1925 in Dallas, the son of A.C. and Jessie Helen Connolly. She was married to Mac A. Marney on May 12, 1950 in Fort Worth.
Survivors include three children and their spouses, Kimberley Cavolich and husband Pat of Temecula, Calif., Mac A. Marney Jr. and wife Camie of Rio Ranch, NM and Karen Harris and husband Bob of Houston; five grandchildren and a sister, Jean Clack of Dallas.

Mrs. McAdams

Melba Goodwin McAdams died March 16, 2004 in a Temple Hospital. Funeral services were conducted March 19 at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Townsend and Rev. Billy Watson officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton.
Mrs. McAdams was born November 30, 1924 in the Evergreen community of Hamilton County, the daughter of Jim and Lou Bollier.
She was married to Uel Goodwin on Dec. 9, 1942. He preceded her in death with his passing on February 13, 1970. She was married to Dennis Lee McAdams in 1972.
Mrs. McAdams was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. For a number of years she worked for Winn’s store in Hamilton and worked as a nurses aide in the nursing homes.
She was a gracious host with her home; it was warm and inviting for family and friends. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
Mrs. McAdams is survived by her husband, Dennis Lee McAdams of Hamilton; a daughter, Chavon Johnston and her husband Travis; two grandchildren, Robert Cutter Johnston and Rodney Johnston all of Stephenville and a sister, Shirley Watson and her husband Billy, of Chandler.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Royce Couch and Fern Evans and one brother, James Bollier.
Pallbearers were Bobby McFarland, Lawrence Mulloy, Darvin Evans, Billy Earl Watson, Dan Bollier, Rick Dorris and Dink Durham.

Mrs. Vickers

Ruby Vickers, 78, of Hamilton, died in a Hamilton hospital Sunday, March 21, 2004. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 24 at North Belton Cemetery with Rev. Jay Thomas officiating.
Mrs. Vickers was born Sept. 11, 1925 in Tipton, Okla., the daughter of W.D. and Ellen Blansit Stevens.
She was married to J.W. Vickers in San Antonio on May 8, 1943. She had been a resident of Belton for many years prior to moving to Hamilton in 1972.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997 and a daughter, Johnnie Nell Moore in 1978.
Survivors include one son, William Vickers of Salado; a daughter, Judy K. Moore of Moffat; a brother, Jesse Stevens of Hamilton, a sister, Joyce Anglin of Hamilton; five grandchildren, Darrell Wright of Hamilton, Melissa Kelly of Belton, Shane Moore of Temple, Nicole Staples of Arlington and Susan Bowles of Killeen and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Landua

Alvena Landua, 95, of Gatesville died Nov. 11, 2004 at a local care facility. Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13 at Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton with Brother David Diggs officiating.
Mrs. Landua was born Nov. 6, 1909 in Indian Gap, the daughter of Andrew Seilheimer and Annie Marie Niensted Seilheimer. She graduated from Conel School in the Shive community and later married Rube Landua on Sept 14, 1935. She attended St. Paul Lutheran Church as a child and was a member of Live Oak Baptist Church for several years. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Elliott West Landua; four sisters and six brothers.
Survivors include her sons, John Andrew Landua and wife Paula, Billy Landua and wife Jan; sister, Eleanora Landua; grandchildren, Waylan Landua, Cristie Pitman, Lynn Meyers, Denise Landua, Mary Jane Landua; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vista Care Hospice or to Live Oak Baptist Church.

Mr. Pettit

Kenneth Earl Pettit, 70, a cattle buyer and rancher, died Nov. 14 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Nov. 18 at the First Baptist Church of Lakeside with an additional service at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 18 in the Hall and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Comanche. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery at Gustine.
He was born Aug. 27, 1934 in Comanche, the son of William Clifford and Mae Pettit. He was married to Nelda Hamilton on Oct. 24, 1953 in Comanche.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Kenneth Earl Pettit Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Nelda Pettit; children, Cliff Pettit and wife Vickie and Kenda Riney and husband Phillip; grandchildren, Tyler, Cole and Kristin Pettit and Rylan, Collin and Quinton Riney; brothers, Jack Pettit and Bill Pettit and sister Kaylene McDougal.

Mrs. Patton

Mary Elizabeth Patton, 94, of Hamilton, formerly of Fort Worth, died Nov. 16, 2004 at Hamilton General Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Nov. 18 at 2 p.m. at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Fort Worth.

Mr. Neel

Victor Lee Neel, 80, died Feb. 3, 2005, in Fort Worth. Funeral services were held Feb. 5 at the Handley United Methodist Church in Fort Worth, with burial following in Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery.
He was born Feb. 9, 1924, in Lamkin, and graduated from Lamkin High School. He enrolled at John Tarleton Agricultural College in 1940, and received his associate's degree two years later. He was accepted into the Army's Aviation Cadet Program in December, 1942. After completing his flight training, he received his commission and wings. By the fall of 1944, he had joined the 8th Air Force in England at the beginning of the Battle of the Bulge in World War II. He flew 25 missions on his B-24, the Happy Warrior, before the war ended in May, 1945. He received several decorations from his war experience, including the Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters and the European Theater Campaign Medal with three Bronze Service Stars.
Upon his return from the war, Mr. Neel taught school for one year in Lamkin. He and his wife, moved to Fort Worth in 1946. He enrolled at Texas Christian University on the GI bill and graduated in 1948 with a B.A. in business. He was employed 24 years at the Government Employee's Finance Corporation, and then worked 14 years as business manager for the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw School District before retirement in 1987.
Mr. Neel was an active and devoted member of Handley United Methodist Church for 46 years. He loved sports, especially golf and basketball. He was a member of the TCU Frog Club. He volunteered his time during income tax season with the Volunteer Tax Assistance Program. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Juanita Vinson Neel.
Survivors include his daughters, Vickie Neel Riddle and husband, Mark, of Arlington, Mary Jo Neel Lee of Portland, Or

egon, and husband John, and Joy Neel Chapman of Newark, Delaware; brother, John H. Neel of Dallas; and grandchildren, Renee Riddle, Matthew Riddle, Kathryn Lee Wheat, Stephanie Lee Utley, Jamie Lee and Johnny Lee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Kenp

Etoil Kenp of Burleson, formerly of Pottsville, died Jan. 28, 2005 in a Fort Worth hospital. Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church in Burleson on Jan. 31.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Kenp and daughter Debra Sims.
Survivors include a daughter, Gay Howard of Burleson, a son, James Kenp and wife Shirley of Kopperl; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, American Heart Association or American Cancer Association.

Mrs. Marcum

Johnnye “Blackie” Edmiston Marcum, 88, formerly of Hamilton, died Jan. 16 at Phoenix, Ariz. Memorial services will be held Feb. 14 at Valley of the Sun Memorial Park in Phoenix where she will be buried alongside her late husband John P. “Jack” Marcum in the Veterans area of the cemetery park.
She was born Nov. 28, 1916 at Hamilton, the fourth youngest child of 13 born to Clarence and Willie Edmiston. Her father was the district clerk at the county courthouse.
She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1936 and was employed at Fred’s Café. In 1939 she moved to Bemidji, Minn. where she was employed at her brother’s restaurant, “The Third Street Café.”
She was married to Jack Marcum.
The couple moved to Lubbock where she raised her family of four children and operated a day care center until moving to Phoenix, Ariz. upon retirement.
Survivors include her three sons, Phillip and wife Barbara of Denver, Spencer of Centennial, Colo., Rod of Phoenix; a daughter, Marjorie and husband Harold Munger of Lake Havasu, Ariz; five grandchildren, Kent, Kris, Kathy, Tami and Kirsten; three great-grandchildren, Piper, Landry and Garrett; two brothers, Kearney and wife Margaret Edmiston of Floydada, Doc and wife Mildred Edmiston of Hamilton as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A reception will follow the memorial services to commemorate her life and wedding date of Feb. 14.
Memorials may be made to Hospice or Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers.
