Minter

Jesse Mac Minter, 70, of Mount Pleasant, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002 at Titus Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31 at First Church of God in Christ. Elder Tommy Smith will officiate. Interment will be in Piney Cemetery under the direction of Tumey Mortuary. Pallbearers will be LaVaughander Minter, Leroy Gipson, George Smith, Raymond Hayes, Charles Smith Jr., Tony Rundles and Tommy Hopkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Rodrick Grant, Michael Grant, Micah Grant, Ti Dedric Harper and Deareon Grant.

Mr. Minter was born Nov. 14, 1931 in Commerce, the son of Zettie and Candassia (Elliott) Minter. He was a 1951 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and was a United States Army veteran. He was a retired foreman for Lone Star Steel Company and was currently employed as a security guard for TXU. He was a mason and a member of the American Legion, Texas Post No. 210.

He is survived by his wife Billie Jo Minter of Mount Pleasant; mother Candassia Minter of Dallas; son Gregory Smith of Mount Pleasant; daughter Debra Grant of Mount Pleasant; grandchildren Rodrick Grant, Michael Grant, Yuquchessia Grant, all of Mount Pleasant, Katrina Grant of Dallas; great-grandchildren Ti Dedric Harper of Dallas, Deareon Grant and Michah Grant, both of Mount Pleasant; brother Simpson Minter of Mount Pleasant; sister Ella Mae Goodman of Dallas; special friends M.J. Dillard and W.J. Linwood, both of Mount Pleasant, Arthur Turner of Annona; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; son Billy Ivory; and brothers I.J. Minter, Zettie Lee Minter and Edgar Minter.

No formal visitation with the family is planned, however Mr. Minter will lie in state from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Rich

HOUSTON - Tina Rich, 36, of Houston, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2001, at her residence.

She is survived by her husband Danny; daughters eight-year-old Jessica and four-year-old Casey; sister and brother-in-law Kim and Tim Yarrow; mother and father Sara and Gary Chapman of Houston; grandparents Mary Lou and Ray Armour of Lago Vista, and Helen and John K. Ragain of Mount Pleasant; uncles and aunts Ray and Pat Armour of Georgetown, and Ronnie and Regina Chapman of Rogers, Ark.; one nephew; and one cousin. Other Mount Pleasant relatives include Mrs. Palmore Curry and Grail, Susan and Hudson Old, Judy and Chuck Hamilton and Herman Old.

She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandmother R.B. Cargile.

Thomas

P.A. Thomas Jr., 78, of Mount Pleasant, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002 at Titus Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31 at Bates-Cooper Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Glenn Griffith will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ernie McAnally, Jerry Boatner, Jack Maxwell, David Pettit, Larry McRae and Scott Blalock.

Mr. Thomas was born June 13, 1923 in Titus County. He was retired from the lab at American Petrofina. He coached Women's Softball for 30 years, coached Little League Baseball for 20 years and officiated all sports for 52 years. He was the past Democratic chairman of Titus County and was a past secretary of AFL CIO Union. Mr. Thomas was also a member of the Mount Pleasant Noon Lions Club and a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge. He was a Baptist.

He is survived by his wife Margie L. Thomas of Mount Pleasant; son and daughter-in-law Rusty and Gloria Thomas of Rockdale; daughter Patricia Masters; grandsons Cody Thomas of Florence, Brad Thomas and Ryan Thomas, both of Rockdale; step-granddaughter Teri Jenkins of Rockdale; great-grandson Dylan Thomas of Florence; and step-great grandchildren Kelsey and Kaeley Jenkins of Rockdale. He was preceded in death by his parents P.A. Thomas Sr. and Bernice Long Thomas.

The family will receive visitors from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Blankenship

Mount Pleasant resident Ruby Blankenship, 90, died in San Antonio onTuesday March 26, 2002.

Miss Blankenship entered Currey Nursing Home in February 1995 and resided there until August of 2001 when she moved to San Antonio CAMLU Care Center.

She worked in Mount Pleasant retail clothing business for approximately 50 years. She was familiar face on the square at Marshalls and later retired from Knieffs.

She was a member of the Tennison Memorial Methodist Church.

She was born on Dec. 30, 1911 in Titus County. She was preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Alice Blankenship; brothers James, Harold, and Carlyle; and sisters Eva and Erskine. She is survived by sister Mary Fillebrown and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 2 p m on Thursday, March 28 atMasonic Cemetery. Bates-Cooper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

Williams

Fay Blalock Williams, 73 , of Mount Pleasant died Tuesday, March 26. 2002 at Mount Pleasant Health Care.

Graveside services are scheduled for ll a. m. on Thursday, March 28 at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Officiating will be Bro. Doyle Hayes. Bates-Cooper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born Oct. 10, 1928 in Wright City, Ok . , Mrs. Williams was the daughter of Clint and Ollie Blalock, She was a retired waitress.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, James "Buttons" and Tamie Williams of Mount Pleasant and Phil and Liz Williams of Blossom; brother, James Blalock of Mount Pleasant; sisters, Virginia Boyd, Linda Cameron, Dorothy McGregor and Mary Rolen, all of Mount Pleasant, nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James H. (Iron) Williams; a brother, Virgle Blalock and a sister, Trudy Richardson.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p. m. on Wednesday, March 27 at Bates-Cooper Funeral Home.

Walter E. Bolton

PITTSBURG - Walter E. Bolton, 81, of Pittsburg died Sunday, May 17, 2009, in Longview.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 23, at Pine Bluff First Baptist Church in Pittsburg, with the Rev. John M. Brooks officiating. Interment will follow at Bolton Cemetery Pittsburg under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Johnny Farmer, Perry Duffey, Robert Askew, Grover Bolton, Harry Goldsmith, Charles George, Eddie Bolton and Larry Hashaway Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Bolton, Ardis Bolton, Charles Bolton, Jonathan Bolton, Briceton Bolton, LaMichael Askew, James Sewell, Larry Hashaway Sr., and the Camp County Antique Car Club.

Mr. Bolton was born on Aug. 3, 1927, in Pittsburg, the son of Edith Bolton and Walter Bolton. He was retired from Lone Star Steel Company and was a member of Independent Hope Baptist Church in Pittsburg.

He is survived by his wife, Edgie Lee Bolton of Pittsburg; two daughters, Frankie Bolton and Kathielene Bolton, both of Longview; three sons, Larry Bolton of Longview, Ardis Bolton of Irving, and Charles Bolton of Gladewater; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Louella Wilder of Texarkana; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie Bolton; a daughter, Elsie Jean McKinney; his parents; and all of his brothers and all but one sister.
