Jenaro “Jerry” Peña, 69, died on March 30. He was a lifelong resident of El Paso and retired in 1985 from the Portland Cement Company where he worked as a cement miller for 30 years. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Juana, their children —Ventura Peña, Carlos Peña and Estrella McCall — and granddaughter Kristina Peña. Burial was April 4 at Memory Gardens of the Valley.

Brigadier General Harvey C. Tschirgi, United States Marine Corp (Ret.), 92, passed away April 1. He was a resident of El Paso for 11 years and was a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Class of 1932. He is survived by his wife Jeanne S. Tschirgi, their daughters — Sheila Tadasse and Susan T. King — four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Interment was at Arlington National Cemetery.

Elisa O. “Chita” Barragan, 90, passed away March 26. She formerly owned Nacho’s Restaurant with her husband Ignacio “Nacho” Barragan, who preceded her death. She is survived by her daughter Eva Parker, grandchildren — Renee Mazza and Neftali “Richard” Ruelas — and two great-grandchildren — Roman Mazza and Meaghan Ruelas. A memorial service took place March 29 at San Rafael’s Parish Church.
