ALVIN CLARK BENNETT

Alvin Clark Bennett, 59, of Kountze died May 20, 2000 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at R.S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery in Silsbee.

A native of Toledo, Ohio, he lived in Kountze 27 years and was a self-employed salesman.

Survivors include his wife, Melba Wood Bennett of Kountze; daughters, Julie Bennett Osborne of Kountze, Lynne Bennett Mazaheri of Denver, Colo., Diane Bennett Pruitt of Beaumont and Tammye Bushong Johnson of North Chicago, Ill.; brother, Mickey Joe Whitley of Kountze and sister, Bonnie Jean Bennett of Denver; and two grandsons.

DONALD RAY CARTER

Donald Ray Carter, 58, of Vidor died May 22, 2000 at his residence.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Vidor.

A longtime resident of Vidor, he was a tree trimmer.

Survivors include his father, John T. Carter of Vidor; sons, Donald Wesley and Carl Carter, both of Leesville, La.; brothers, John W. Carter, Roy Carter, James Carter, and Henry Carter, all of Vidor; sisters, Doris Jones and Helen Mitchell, both of Vidor, and Mary Billings of Austin; and two grandchildren.

GERALDINE W. DURHAM

Geraldine W. Durham, 79, of Port Arthur died May 22, 2000 at his residence.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Picayune, Miss., she lived in Port Arthur most of her life and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Smith of Buffalo Creek, Colo.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hughen Center in Port Arthur.

JACK COLUMBUS FOUNTAIN

Jack Columbus Fountain, 73, of Spurger died May 23, 2000 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Franks Branch Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Fred, he lived in Spurger most of his life and was a retired Local No. 125 iron worker.

Survivors include his wife, Clara Fountain of Fred; sons, A.J. Fountain of Buna, Wayne Brown, Steve Fountain and Donald Fountain, all of Fred, Calvin Fountain of Lumberton and Marvin Fountain of Buchanan Dam; daughters, Brenda Harvill, Rena Moore and Pam Huddleston, all of Fred and Tammy Hebert of Lake Charles, La.; brother, Avon Fountain of Buna; sister, Patsy Haefs of Buna; 27 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

JOSHUA BRANDON HUGHES

Joshua Brandon Hughes, 20, of Bronson died May 22, 2000 in San Augustine County.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill with burial at Bronson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Omaha, Neb., he lived in Bronson many years and was a laborer for Dixon Water Well Service.

Survivors include his father, Tim Hughes of Omaha, Neb., and mother, Jill Snyder of Broaddus; sisters, Monica Hughes of Omaha, Amber Hughes and Michelle Hughes, both of Bronson.

DANNY JOE LIVINGSTON

Danny Joe Livingston, 58, of Port Arthur died May 20, 2000 at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur.

A native of Port Arthur and former resident of Portland, Ore., he lived in Port Arthur many years and was a retired hotel clerk.

Survivors include his daughter, Kaala Livingston of Portland; brothers, Billy Ray Livingston of Port Arthur, Michael Livingston of San Francisco, Calif., and Steve Livingston of Groves; sisters, Judie Judice and Kathy Braquet, both of Groves.

MYRNA HUDNALL MILLER

Myrna Hudnall Miller, 78, of Beaumont died May 22, 2000 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Broussard’s Mortuary in Beaumont. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the mortuary.

A native of Kemper County, Miss., she lived in Beaumont 45 years and was a retired Department of Public Safety driver’s license clerk.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas C. Miller of Beaumont; sons, Tommy Miller and Hal Miller, both of Houston; brother, Sam Hudnall of Meridian, Miss.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 7015, Beaumont, Texas. 77726-7015.

MARY BELLE NUNN

Mary Belle Nunn, 91, of Woodville died May 21, 2000 at Tyler County Hospital in Woodville.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Riley Funeral Home in Woodville with burial at 3 p.m. at South Park Cemetery in Houston. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Alto and former resident of Houston, she lived in Woodville 18 years ago and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her daughter, Gracie McDowell of Woodville; sisters, Maudis Felder Greenawalt of Angleton; brother, Sam A. Felder of Angleton; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

JENNIE PREJEAN

Jennie Prejean, 83, of Orange died May 22, 2000 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Orange Hospital.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Orange. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native and former resident of Houma, La., she lived in Orange 65 years and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her daughters, Christine Cecile Bland of Lake Charles, La., Frances Young of Orange and Merle Lynn Woolley of Houston; son, Henry "Hank’’ Prejean of Richwood; brothers, George Tanoos of Orange and Joe Thomas of Ft. Myers, Fla.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

JOYCE ELIZABETH ARNOLD SANDERS

Joyce Elizabeth Arnold Sanders, 71, of Liberty died May 23, 2000 at San Jacinto Hospice Center in Baytown.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at United Pentecostal Church in Daisetta with burial at Holly Grove Cemetery in Rye under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Visitation will be from 3 to 9:30 p.m. today at the church.

A native of Sugarland and former resident of Daisetta, shes lived in Liberty many years.

Survivors include her son, Harold R. Sanders of Oakhurst; daughters, Joy L. Hortman of Daisetta, Charlene R. Macip of Denton and Mary E. Jennings of Liberty; brothers, Lloyd Arnold of Austin, Edward Arnold of Roanoke, La., Bobby Arnold of Batson and Dudley Arnold of Nederland; sisters, Laverne DeLaune of Prairieville, La., and Margaret Massingill of Melville, La.; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren

ALLEN FRANCIS THIBODEAUX

Allen Francis Thibodeaux, 79, of Groves died May 23, 2000 in Groves.

Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Hixson Funeral Home in Sulphur, La., with burial at Big Woods Cemetery in Edegerly, La. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.

He lived many years in Sulphur and was a member of The French Ramblers.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian Thibodeaux of Groves; sons, Blaine Thibodeaux of Groves and Laine Thibodeaux of Nederland; daughter, Boyce Vincent of Sulphur; brothers, Sheldon Thibodeaux, Clifford Thibodeaux, Dee Thibodeaux and Amar Thibodeaux, all of Sulphur; sisters, Betty Landry, Isbel LeDoux and Deloris Manuel, all of Sulphur; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

THOMAS G. WATSON

Thomas G. Watson, 90, of West Orange died May 22, 2000 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m Thursday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange with graveside rites at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Mount Vernon, Ark., he lived in Orange 55 years and was a retired DuPont Sabine River Works in Orange supervisor. He was also a World War II U.S. Navy veteran..

Survivors include his daughters, Rita K. Hicks of West Orange and Paula Ruth Amsden of Monroe, La.; son, Thomas C. Watson of Orange; sister, Mary Edna Smithers of Benton, Ark.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

ARTHUR BLACK

Arthur Black, 85, of Orange died May 19, 2000 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Orange Hospital.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with burial at Orange Forest Lawn under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

A lifelong resident of Orange, he was the owner-operator of Black’s Orange Floral and was also a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Caldwell Black of Orange; sons, Michael Black of Houston and Brian Black of Austin; daughter, Monica Garrett of Orange; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

C.W. DAY

C.W. Day, 62, of Evadale died May 20, 2000 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Morse Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Buna, he was a lifelong resident of Evadale and was a tool pusher.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Mae Day of Evadale; sons, Gregory O’Neal "Buddy" Day of Evadale and Clifton Weldon Day of Silsbee; stepmother, Anita Day of DeRidder, La.; and three granddaughters.

MOLLIE EVANS

Mollie Evans, 90, of Colmesneil died May 18, 2000 at Tyler County Hospital in Woodville.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Mount Hope Baptist Church in Colmesneil with burial at Mount Zion Community Cemetery in Colmesneil under the direction of Coleman’s Tyler County Funeral Home in Woodville.

A native of Fulton, La., she lived in Colmesneil many years and was a cook.

Survivors include her daughter, Margie Bean of Colmesneil.
