Billy H. Gragg
Services for Billy H. Gragg, 73, of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Scott Dornbush and Morris House officiating. Burial will be in the Palestine Middle Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Gragg died Saturday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 10, 1928, in Palestine to Oscar Lee Gragg and Mary Inez Hardin Gragg.
Mr. Gragg was an Eagle Scout, a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Palestine Rotary Club and the Anderson County Bar Association. He served as a director on the Cartmell Home for Aged, the First National Bank and the Cattlemen’s Bank of Austin Board of Directors. He served as Anderson County Chairman of the Republican Party and the Electoral College of the Republican Party.
He is survived by his wife Jackie Gragg of Palestine; daughters, Laura Lee Hailey and Holli Gragg, both of Palestine; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Franklin Neuberger, Wallace Wilkerson, Jimmy Schwertner, Bill Knowles, Johnny Norwood, Bascom Bentley, Jack Selden and David Hailey II.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Lockey, Wyndell Deats and David Holmes.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Bertha Pugh Watkins
Services for Bertha Pugh Watkins, 98, of Palestine, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Tennessee Colony Cemetery with the Rev. Jason Bryant officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Watkins died Sunday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 15, 1904, in Tennessee Colony to W.L. Pugh and Margaret Link Pugh.
Before retiring, Mrs. Watkins was employed as a bookkeeper at the Grand Leader. She was a member of North Jackson Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Therese Watkins Allen; and a sister, Jessie Grasty.
Mrs. Watkins is survived by grandchildren, Michael Allen of Palestine, Suzanna Allen of Caldwell and Rebecca Chapman of Austin; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Elbert Dewey Bell Jr.
Services for Elbert Dewey Bell Jr., 74, of Palestine, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Herrington/Land of Memory Chapel. Burial will follow at Land of Memory Cemetery.
Mr. Bell died Sunday at his residence.
He was born Nov. 2, 1927, in Dansville, La. to Elbert Dewey Bell Sr. and Katie Alice DuBois Bell.
Mr. Bell had lived in Palestine most of his life. He worked in the oilfield since age 13. He was a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Howells Bell of Palestine; sons, Jerry Bell and Larry Bell, both of Palestine; stepson, Michael Smith of Palestine; daughter, Connie Bell of Plano; stepdaughters, Kathy Moore of Palestine and Freda Wells of Plano; sisters, Laura Hammontree of Overton and Ruth King of Longview; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Robert Wofford, Kelly Moore, Adam Moore, Ray Wofford, Timothy Storey and David Bell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Wofford, Billy Wofford and Bobby Wofford.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Nelwyn Jean Camp
Services for Nelwyn Jean Camp, 76, of Palestine, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Herrington/Land of Memory Chapel with Craig Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Starr Cemetery in Elkhart under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
Mrs. Camp died Sunday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 2, 1925, in Rusk County to William Madison “Bill” Langston and Carrie Virginia Herrin Langston.
Mrs. Camp had lived in Palestine all her life. She was a Christian.
She worked as a seamstress at the Industrial Garment Factory and later at Southside Elementary cafeteria.
Mrs. Camp was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Camp; daughter, Patsy Taff; and brothers, Meredith Langston, Bub Langston, Don Langston and Harold Langston.
She is survived by sons, Buz Camp and Ronald Camp, both of Palestine; stepson, Preston McCormick of Wiley; brothers, Bob Langston of Phoenix and Jack Langston of Tyler; sister, Betty Douthit of Palestine; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Camp, Robert Yorgensen, Andy Cleveland, Mark Converse, Eddie Cooksey and Dustin Dennis.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Sammy Dewayne Looney
Services for Sammy Dewayne Looney, 49, of Palestine, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Herrington/Land of Memory Chapel.
Mr. Looney died Thursday in Palestine.
He was born March 1, 1953, in Caraway, Ark. to Samuel L. and Sue Spivey Looney.
Mr. Looney had lived in Palestine all of his life. He worked as a lineman foreman with Six B. Construction.
He is survived by his mother, Sue Coln of Sulphur Springs; wife of 30 years, Glenda Looney of Palestine; sons, Kenneth Looney and Kevin Looney, both of Palestine; brothers, Rick Looney and Kenny Looney, both of Sulphur Springs; sister, Theresa Snow of Farmers Branch; and five grandchildren.
Jeremy Wade Moore Sr.
Services for Jeremy Wade Moore Sr., 22, of Palestine, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Palestine City Cemetery with the Rev. Lynn Stroud officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Palestine.
Mr. Moore died Monday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 20, 1980 in Palestine to John Erin Moore and Joanne Johnston Moore.
Mr. Moore was a Baptist. He was employed as an account manager for Rent Way.
He is survived by his wife, Melanie Garay Moore of Palestine; son, Jeremy Wade Moore Jr. of Palestine; his father, of Colorado Springs; his mother, of Palestine; brother, Micah Moore of Denver, Colo.; grandparents, Nan and Wayne Johnston of Humble and Quincy Moore of Kansas City, Mo.; great grandparents, Joyce Brooks of Trinity, Christine Johnston of Houston and Carolyn Schiffer of Temple.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Toya, Daniel Dockweiler, Derek Ray, Phillip Garay, J.J. Haynes, Dillion Barton, Joey Sandoval and David Sandoval.

Henry Leon Miller
Services for Henry Leon Miller, 76, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Antioch Baptist Church with the Revs. Roy G. Duncan, James L. Bass, C.C. Berry and Myron Waddle officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Mr. Miller died Nov. 20 after a long illness.
He was born Aug. 6, 1926, in Poynor to Henry Sr. and Martha Johnson Miller.
Mr. Miller was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and sang in the choir.
As a teen, he worked in a local restaurant. He opened his own business more than 40 years ago. Miller’s Cafe was located at several sites in downtown Palestine. When he retired in the early ‘90s, the restaurant was located on West Reagan Street.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Marie Miller; one sister; and eight brothers.
Mr. Miller is survived by daughter, Sherrill Butler of DeSoto; son, Cedric W. Swanson of Amsterdam, Holland; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Janice Masters Poe
Services for Janice Masters Poe, 53, of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Crockett Road Church of Christ with Dan Manuel, Ed Voss and Owen Perry officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Poe died Sunday afternoon at her residence.
She was born April 18, 1949, in Crockett to Hugh Stafford Masters and Sylvia Ollise Dickey Masters.
Mrs. Poe was a member of Crockett Road Church of Christ. She was a beautician.
She was preceded in death by her father; and husband, Douglas C. Poe, in 1997.
Mrs. Poe is survived by her mother, of Palestine; daughters, Mistylee Poe of Austin and Holly Ann Powers of Leander; sister, Dianne Hare of Palestine; and brother, Larry Masters of Conroe.

Winnie L. Thompson
Services for Winnie L. Thompson, 85, of Rockport, and formerly of Palestine, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rosewood Memorial Park in Humble.
Mrs. Thompson died Thursday in Rockport after a lengthy illness.
She was the daughter of the late Roy and Ollie Grasty.
Mrs. Thompson was a member of First Baptist Church of Humble. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Thompson; six brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by son, James M. Thompson, M.D. of Rockport; daughter, Bobbie Walker of Rockport; sisters, Gussie Killion and Lois Eubanks, both of Palestine; brother, Lloyd Grasty of Montalba; and seven grandchildren.
Norma Munsinger

Mrs. Munsinger died Sunday at her residence.
Clara Eugenia “Jeanne” Seldon Johnson Keith
Services for Clara Eugenia “Jeanne” Seldon Johnson Keith, 79, of Houston, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Buffalo Funeral Home with the Rev. Don White officiating. A private graveside service will follow in the Keechi Cemetery east of Buffalo.
Mrs. Keith died Saturday in League City.
She was born Dec. 4, 1922, to Grover and Lucille Selden Sr.
Mrs. Keith was reared in Palestine and graduated from Palestine High School. She has lived the past 60 years in Houston.
She was a resident of Harbourview Care Center in League City and a past member of Channelview United Methodist Church. She held various jobs but was primarily a homemaker.
Mrs. Keith was preceded in death by husbands, Ben Johnson and Lester L. Keith; and brother, Grover Selden Jr.
She is survived by son, Ben B. Johnson of Colleyville; daughter, Grace E. “Jeanie” Herring of Clear Lake; sisters, Joann Selden Cooke of Tyler and Colleen Selden of Bryan; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
