J. Lee Nugent 66, of Raywood, Texas, died on Saturday March 29, 2014 In Liberty, Texas.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Wednesday April 2, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services 40847 Hwy 105E. Batson, cremation is to follow.

J. Lee was born March 23, 1948 in Liberty, to parents Jerry Lee Nugent and Juanita C. Gray. He had lived in Liberty, most of his life. He was self employed, and was also a superintendent in the construction industry. and also a U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors are his wife; Gloria Nugent of Raywood, mother; Juanita Nugent of Thicket, daughter; Sherry Flores of Baytown, Brothers; Thomas Nugent and wife Trish of Belville, Wayne Nugent and wife Barbara of Raywood, Albert Nugent and wife Carrie of Kountze, Jason Nugent and wife Teresa of Hull. Sisters; Edna McWilliams and husband Benny of Jasper, Charlotte Babb of Thicket, Linda Lamey of Raywood, and Tina Austin and husband Dickie of Thicket. Grandchildren; twelve and great grandchildren; five.

Service of remembrance under the care of Faith & Family Funeral Services 40847 Hwy 105E. Batson, Texas 77519.

Hinkle

Joyce Craven Hinkle, 81, of Mont Belvieu, TX was born July 6, 1932, in Cullman County, AL and died Friday, March 28, 2014, at home.

She retired from Dixon Engineering and was a member of Old River Baptist Church. She took pride in being a "high tech" grandma, doing things such as paying bills online and sending out e-mails for the church. She was a Houston Oilers fan and enjoyed watching General Hospital and Wheel of Fortune.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Georgie Craven; brother and sister, Marshall Craven and Lillie Mae Williams; and daughter, Rita Jo Hinkle. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Milton Hinkle of Mont Belvieu; daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Tommy Huffman of Dayton; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and De Hinkle of Richmond; grandchildren, Travis Huffman, Tracie Mazzu and husband, Sammy, Jennifer Hinkle, and Katelyn Hinkle; and great grandchildren, Tyler Huffman and Georgia Mae Mazzu.

Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Friday, April 4 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be Saturday, April 5, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Biddy officiating.

In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made the Old River Baptist Church Building Fund, 12948 FM1409, Dayton, TX 77535.

Linscomb

Cecelia Ann Linscomb, 59 of Sour Lake, TX died on Friday March 28, 2014 at Christus Hospital of Beaumont.

Cecelia was born January 20, 1955 in Silsbee, Texas to her parents J.L. Linscomb and Edna Cotten. She had lived in Sour Lake most of her life and was a homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her father; J.L. Linscomb.

Cecelia is Survived by her mother; Edna Briggs of Sour Lake, son; W.L. Holmes of Saratoga, daughter; Hollie Somerville of Hudson Oaks, Texas, brothers; John Lee Linscomb II of Sour Lake and Kenneth Linscomb of Warren, sisters; Joyce Abernathy of Vidor and Michelle Erickson of McKinney, half sisters; Frances Linscomb of Colman, and Peggy Butzke of Magnolia, four grandchildren; Colton Fountain, Jonah, and Amelia Somerville and Will Holmes. A graveside service for Cecelia will be 10:00A.M. Wednesday April 2, 2014 at Guedry cemetery with Reverend Bruce Crosby officiating. The family will be having a gathering of friends and family on Tuesday April 1, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services.

Presley

Robert Bruce Presley, 70, of Kountze, died on Friday March 28, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Robert was Born October 23, 1943 in Kountze, to William Brack Presley and Bonnie Davis and was a lifelong residence of Kountze. He was a faithful member of The Little Rock Assembly of God Church of Kountze, since he was twenty four years of age. Robert was also a retired oilfield worker from Zavaltex of Beaumont.

He was preceded in death by his parents; William Brack Presley, and Bonnie Davis Presley, brothers; William Brack Presley Jr. and Virgil Presley. Sisters; Bonnie "Pat" Sontage, and Alberta Gilliam. Survivors are his loving family wife; Ora Dell Brown Presley of Kountze, sons; Robert Presley of Kountze, Billy Presley of Kountze, Billy Presley and wife Judy of Buna, Raymond Presley and wife Becky of Port Neches, Brian Presley and wife Stephanie of Jasper, Brother; Johnny Presley of Beaumont, Sisters; Ila Griffin and Roberta Griffin both of Kountze, Grandchildren are Brandi, Brack, Mason, Brianna, Billy Jr, and Clayton. One great grandchild; Brandon.

A service of remembrance will be held on Tuesday April 1, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Little Rock Assembly of God Church located on Highway 326 in Kountze, with Reverend Mike Brown and Reverend Ernest Brown officiating. Interment will follow at the Pine Ridge cemetery in Sour Lake. The family will be receiving friends on Monday March 31, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Little Rock Assembly of God Church. Serving as pallbearers are Robert Presley, Billy Presley, Raymond Presley, Brian Presley, Brack Presley, Mason Presley, Billy Presley Jr, Clayton Presley, and Doug Hanratty.

Wilson

Virginia Alberta “Ginger” Wilson, 49, of Saratoga died Thursday March 27, 2014 at her home with her loved ones by her side.

She had resided in Saratoga most of her life.

She is preceded in death by her son, Albert Lee Musselwhite; parents, Herman and Alberta Presley Fillingim; sister, Barbara Nell Fillingim.

She is survived by her husband, Terry Wilson of Saratoga; son, Joshua Fillingim of Broaddus, TX; brothers, Kenneth Fillingim of Kountze, Johnny Lee Fillingim of Kountze and Douglas Fillingim of Kountze; step-sisters, Claudine Gilliam of Silsbee and Betty Gilliam of Saratoga; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Her family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday March 29, 2014 at Faith & Family Funeral Services. A service of remembrance will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday March 30, 2014 at Faith & Family Funeral Services. Interment will follow at Big Sandy cemetery in Big Sandy, TX, officiated by Reverend Woody Sonnier.

Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Lilley, Gerald Burns, Dennis Lilley, Cody Burns, Jerry Bramled, Jerry Bramled, Jr., Wyley Ener and Paul Fillingim. The honorary pallbearer is Earl Burns.

McCreight

George Shane McCreight, 75, of Hull, passed away Friday March 21, 2014. He loved to fish and he never met a stranger. He enjoyed watching football, especially the Hull-Daisetta Bobcats. He enjoyed his oilfield buddies and old friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Myrtle McCreight; sisters, Joyce Deckert and Barbara Jordan; brothers, A. W. McCreight, Jesse McCreight, Charles Wayne McCreight and Thomas McCreight.

He is survived by his children, Robyn Rackel and husband Michael of Rye, Rusty McCreight and wife Dana of Moss Hill, Andy McCreight, Sr. and wife Connie of Galveston; brother-in-law, Joe Deckert of Hull; sister-in-law, Mary McCreight of Hull; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and one great great grandson; numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

A memorial service is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Monday March 31, 2014 at Faith and Family Funeral Services of Batson.

Kyle

Andrew James Kyle IV was a proud citizen of Liberty, Texas for over half a century.

He was a United States veteran, serving during World War II as a crew chief of a C-47 assigned to the 50th Squadron. He was a graduate of Ohio State University where he received a degree in journalism and pursued his passion as an illustrator and cartoonist. After his service, he settled in Liberty, Texas where he worked for the Liberty Vindicator and began building greenhouses and growing chrysanthemums. His research and dedication to growing the largest and best mums proved successful as he cultivated two of his own varieties, known as “Kyle Gold” and “Kyle White”. Andy Kyle, as many knew him, also collected arrowheads over the course of many decades. His private collection of arrowheads is countless. Kyle donated an impressive collection, as well, to the Sam Houston Regional Library where they are currently housed and displayed.

Andrew James Kyle IV was born on February 7, 1915 in Concord, New Hampshire. He was married to Mildred Kemper Hicks on December 30, 1943. He is preceded in death by his wife, Kemper.

Mr. Kyle passed away on March 26, 2014 while being taken care of at the Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Bossier City, Louisiana. There, he received wonderful care from the entire staff and his family is truly grateful for their respect for the Veterans who have served our Country. His family would like to especially thank Dr. Fleniken and his personal nurses for the exceptional care he received.

Andrew James Kyle IV is survived by his daughter Libby Orenbaun and husband Sutton Sr., daughter Andrea Smart and husband Buddy, granddaughter Robin Land and husband Chuck, granddaughter Mandy Simeon and husband Jason, grandson Sutton Orenbaun Jr. and wife Liz, great-granddaughter Kylee Land and great-grandsons Palmer and Porter Simeon.

Mr. Kyle traveled extensively through his service and experienced many amazing events throughout his lifetime. He believed in the importance of history and heritage, hard work, dedication and pride of Country. They do not make men as true and hardworking as this anymore. His contributions to his Country, community and family have been steadfast for almost an entire century.

Services for Andrew James Kyle IV will be Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 2pm at Cooke Memorial cemetery in Liberty, TX. Services are under the direction of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX.

Johnson

Billie Alice Johnson 76 of Raywood, Texas died on Wednesday March 26, 2014 at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont.

A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday March 29, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services Chapel with Reverend V.R. Hylton and brother Andy Glenn officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn cemetery in Liberty. The family will be receiving friends on Friday March 28, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Faith & Family. Billie was born January 29, 1939 in Liberty, to Charlie Van Welch and Ruby Marie Davis and had lived in Raywood, most of her life and was an homemaker and a member of the Day Spring Church of Liberty, and was also a member of The Girls Rodeo Association. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Monroe Eugene Johnson. She is survived by her sons; Michael Johnson and wife Mollie of Kountze, Brian Johnson and wife Sandy of Winnie. Cousins; Jimmy Davis and Ronnie Davis both of Raywood, her caregiver who for eight years who took really good care of her Paula Watts of Devers. Grandchildren; are Amanda Wright, Colt Johnson, Chris Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Shelby Johnson. Great grandchildren; are Abby Wright, Katie Wright, Hayden Wright. Serving as pallbearers are Chris Johnson, Colt Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Chuck Land, Greg Denton, and Steve Vinning. Honorary pallbearers are Harvey Williamson, Louis Watts, Jason Seminole, and Jim Shane.

Green-Crocker

Frances E. Green-Crocker, 71, of Dayton, died Sunday, March 23, 2014, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 27, 2014, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at the Greenville cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Frances was born June 11, 1942 in Cleveland, to parents; William F. and Nola E. Bartlett Gilley, and has been lifelong resident of the Dayton area. She was a graduate of the Tarkington Prairie High School, member of Simmons Bottom Assembly of God Church, and taught children’s church. She also enjoyed sewing, singing, playing the piano, church activities, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Crocker was preceded in death by her parents, father of her children: Gilbert Green, husband: George Crocker, and brother: W. Cleon Gilley. She is survived by her sons: James Green and wife Daisy of Dayton and John W. Green and wife Jeanine of The Woodlands, brother: Wendell D. Gilley and wife Debbie of Huntsville, grandchildren: Jamie Green, Sakarah Perdew, John Patrick Green, Rachael Green, Katy Green, Gilbert Green, Johnathan Green, Joshua Green, Jayden Green, and Jordan Green, 12 great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Memorial donations may be made to the Simmons Bottom Assembly of God Church.

Cox

Mamie Evelyn Cox, age 90 of Dayton, died March 22, 2014, at her residence with her loving family by her side.

Mamie was born June 8, 1923 in Popular Creek, MS, daughter of the late Udell and Chloeannie Brown Maharrey. Mamie attended Dayton High School and was a housewife most of her life. She was a jack of all trades, having expert knowledge in plumbing and electrical. She was very proud of raising over 120 head of cattle by herself. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all.

Mamie was preceded in death by her parents, husband; John “ Beau” Bradburn Cox, son; Douglas Cox, and brother; E.L. Tucker. She leaves behind to cherish her memory his daughter; JoAnn Shipman of Dayton, TX, grandsons; Rob Flurry of Beaumont, TX, Tobyn Cox of Dayton, TX, granddaughter; Toya Cox, great-grandchildren; Terry Flurry, J.C. Martin, Jessy Martin, Kayleigh Jenkins and Aaron Jenkins

Services for Mamie Evelyn Cox will be Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 10am at First Baptist Church, 202 East Houston Street, Dayton, TX. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 5pm to 8pm at Sterling Funeral Home, 602 North Main, Dayton.

Davidson

Mary E. Terry Davidson, 86, of Dayton, died Thursday, March 20, 2014, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 24, 2014, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral in Dayton.

Mary was born February 5, 1928 in Oakland, CA, to parents; Edward and Mable Hilgar Terry, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in Dayton since 1973. She was a graduate of Oakland High School, member of the Old River Assembly of God Church, and taught Sunday school and children’s church. She also enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Davidson was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Walter, Ted, Roger, Frank, and Bob Terry, sister: Nelly Lyles, and grandson: Ray Pepper. She is survived by her husband of 63 years: William “Bill” Davidson of Dayton, daughters: Donna Fabre and husband Danny of Dayton, Becky Bird and husband Eddie of Dayton, Sue Sartin and husband Andy of Dayton, and Miriam Pepper and husband Donald of Dayton, son: Douglas Davidson of Temple, sister: Barbara Swords of California, brother: Jim Terry of California, grandchildren: Becki Green and husband Kenny, Scott Bird and wife Nicole, Jeremy Mason, Tanya Sowell and husband Kevin, Melissa Trevizo and husband Juan, Stephen Sartin, and Jennifer Shuman and husband Tyler, seven great-grandchildren, sisters of the heart: Geretta Fowler and Dorothy Keener, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Johnson

Burl Eldridge Johnson, age 85 of Liberty, died March 20, 2014 in Liberty, TX with his loving family by his side.

Burl was born January 29, 1929 in Lufkin, TX son of the late Otis and Cordie Weaver Johnson. He attended Hardin High School and worked for Texas Workover for fifty years as a welder, roughneck and mechanic. Burl enjoyed woodworking, playing with his remote control cars, fishing but mostly loved dancing with the love of his life, Delores. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Burl was preceded in death by his parents, son; Kenneth Burl Johnson, daughter; Terry Lin Johnson and a brother; C.D. Johnson. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of sixty-six years; Delores Rose Johnson of Liberty, daughter; Barbara Nugent and husband Frank of Hardin, TX, grandchildren; Stacie Nugent, Tracie Litton, Kim Johnson, and Bubba Shanks, great-grandchildren; Kody, Destiny, Roy, and Paige, nephew; Darrell Johnson and wife Penny of Moss Hill, and a niece; Belinda Johnson of Hardin.

Services for Burl Eldridge Johnson will be Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 2pm at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX with burial to follow at Moss Hill Community cemetery in Moss Hill. Visitation will be Monday, March 24, 2014 at Allison Funeral Service Chapel from 5pm to 8pm.
