Tullos

George Harold Tullos, Sr., 71, of Dayton, Texas died Tuesday, December 24, 2013 in Pasadena, Texas.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

He was born to the late Lois and Melvin Tullos, June 1, 1942, in Trinity, Texas. George enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to trade shows. He loved woodworking, and made walking canes and writing pens. He was a member of the Sabine County River Cutlery Club.

George was an Electrician for the Port of Houston Authority where he retired.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter; Katheryn Tullos York, and brother; Earl Dean Cooper.

George is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Edna Heralle Tullos, son; George Harold Tullos, Jr., daughter; Karen Lynn Tullos Foster, son-in-law, Eddie, grandchildren; John Ebbin York, Whitney Nicole York, sister; Betty Powell, brothers; Melvin Leroy and Michael Lynn Tullos, and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, December 28, 2013, at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas. Interment will follow in Hebron cemetery in Pineland, Texas, with a graveside service beginning at 3:00 P.M. A gathering of George’s family and friends will be Friday, December 27, 2013, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas.

Smith

Linda Dale Smith age 71, died in Beaumont December 25, 2013.

Linda was born in Lubbock, Texas, November 22, 1942. Linda loved to go to the casinos and play the slots. She enjoyed going to shows especially an Elvis impersonator. In her youth she loved to travel as well as dance. Her special joy was spending her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Linda last worked as a sales clerk for Wal-Mart, working previously for the Hardin ISD in the Administrative Building.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her mother; Rosa Lee Carpenter, step father; Chuck Porter, daughter; Debra L. Wagner and husband Mike, sons; Dwight Cessna and wife Sondra, Aubrey Cessna, brother; Curtis Porter, sisters; Brenda Cammareri, Connie Smith and husband Richard, Jan Hill and husband Gilbert, and Darla Porter, Grandchildren; Joseph, Ariel, Scott, and Savannah Cessna, Mike Wagner Jr, and Krystal Thorton. In addition she leaves seven great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. A

funeral service will be held 3 P.M. Saturday December 28, 2013 at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas with a visitation to be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Hardin Chapel cemetery.

Noble

Jimmie Morgan Noble age 72 died Monday December 23, 2013 in Liberty.

Jimmie was born in Cleveland, Texas, May 1, 1941 the son of the late Willie James Noble and Virginia Ethel Hawthorn Noble. Jimmie enjoyed cooking, playing dominos, and going to the casinos. He was always positive, with a warm smile, and never met a stranger. He watched his favorite westerns on TV and cooked for his family every weekend. There was nothing he enjoyed more than having his boys and their family around. Jimmie served in the US Navy from 1959-1962. He worked for over forty years as a truck driver in the oil field, last working for Campbell Fishing Tools. Jimmie was also a thirty year member of the Elks Lodge of Liberty.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as a sister Jo Ann Budro and an uncle Sonny Hawthorn.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Jan Noble, his sons; Jimmie Wayne Noble and wife Debbie, David A. Noble and wife Yolanda, Jeff G. Noble and wife Kim, and Jack M. Noble, Brother; Cullen Noble and wife Judy, brother-in-law; Darrell Budro, sister-in-laws; Sue Bowdin and Rhonda Ainsworth. In addition he leaves eighteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A visitation for Jimmie will be held Friday December 27, 2013 from 6-9 P.M. at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. A funeral service will be held 10AM Saturday December 28, 2013 with Rev. Harry McDaniel, at the funeral home with burial to follow, with full military honors in Montague cemetery, Cleveland, Texas .

Strickland

John W. Strickland, 54, of Dayton, died Friday, December 20, 2013, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2013, at the First Baptist Church with burial following at Magnolia Park cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

John was born November 29, 1959 in Dayton, to parents; Clifford L. “Slick” and Winifred Anderson Strickland, and has resided in Dayton throughout his life. He was a graduate of the Dayton High School, co-owner of Strickland Welding, member of the Dayton Volunteer Fire Department, and recipient of the 2012 Firefighter of the Year. He also enjoyed spending time with family, playing the guitar, motorcycles, classic cars, and watching westerns.

Mr. Strickland was preceded in death by his father: Clifford L. “Slick” Strickland and mother: Winifred Anderson Strickland. He is survived by his daughters: Sarah Cochran and husband Kody of Baytown and Summer Strickland of Dayton, son: James Strickland of CO, brothers: Jim Strickland of Dayton and Clifford L. Strickland, Jr. and wife Gloria of Jacksonville, sister: Linda Mears and husband Paul of MD, grandchildren: Isabella Fields, Korey Cochran, Ariana Vasquez, and Alexus Vasquez, an numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In lieu of usual floral remembrances, the family requests that donations be made to the Dayton Volunteer Fire Department at P.O. Box 606, Dayton, TX 77535, in John’s name.

Cooley

Walter K Cooley, 83, of Anahuac died December 22, 2013, after a brief illness.

He was born to the late Adrian B. Cooley, Sr. and Anna Koelemay, Nov. 25, 1930, in Rosedale, Texas. Walter graduated magna cum laude from Devers High School in 1948 and worked at the farm until he enlisted in the Army. He served as an airplane mechanic in Korea from 1951-1953 reaching the rank of corporal. After an honorable discharge, he attended Sam Houston State Teachers College (now Sam Houston State University). He married Pat Anderson in 1954, where they lived in Liberty and later moved to Anahuac in 1964.

Walter worked for Gulf States Utilities and later became Superintendent of the Anahuac office until his retirement.

Walter was a past member of the Anahuac Lions Club and the volunteer Emergency Corps where he served the community for several years.

He loved to hunt and fish as a young man; he and Pat traveled extensively during their summers and they especially loved Colorado. His love of gardening in his later years resulted in much fresh produce—he was well-known for his delicious tomatoes. Walter was an avid reader throughout his life and frequented the county library.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, his son Allen O. (Butch) Cooley, and a grandson, Joshua Abshier Cooley.

Walter is survived by his brother, Adrian B. Cooley, Jr. (Pat) of Huntsville, Texas; his son, Micheal K Cooley (Pat); daughter-in-law Charlotte Cooley; grandchildren Kaye Cormier (Willis), Micheal Allen Cooley, all of Anahuac; and Justin Anderson Cooley of Jacksonville, Texas. He is also survived by two great-grandsons, Kyle Cormier and Brett Cooley, both of this city.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Chambers County Library.

A viewing will be held from 5:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Sterling Funeral Home of Anahuac. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 27, 2013, at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, Anahuac. Interment following in the Anahuac cemetery.

Wycliff

Emily Ann Wycliff, a longtime resident of Dayton, Texas, died Friday, December 20, 2013, in Port Allen, Louisiana. She was 91.

Born Emily Ann Broussard on June 15, 1922 in Dayton, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was very active in St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Dayton. She was also a devoted homemaker and an accomplished seamstress.

During their 71 years of marriage, Emily and her husband, Wilbert, moved throughout the country for his job. Three years ago, they moved to Port Allen, LA, to live with their oldest daughter, Karen. There they became members of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lakeland, LA.

Emily is survived by her loving husband, Wilbert; by her children Don (Pamela) Wycliff of South Bend, IN; Karen Robinson of Port Allen, LA; Chris (Patricia) Wycliff of Houston, TX; Ida Wycliff of Los Angeles, CA; Joy (Bill) Warren of North Richland Hills, TX; Judith (Paul) Geller of Marina del Rey, CA; Jean Wycliff of Houston, TX; and Brian (Patricia) Wycliff of Houston, TX; 24 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild; two brothers, Joseph Broussard of Los Angeles, CA, and Ambrose Broussard of Seattle, WA; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Napoleon and Ezildia Broussard; a son, Francois Wycliff; son-in-law, Cliff Robinson; four brothers and three sisters.

Family and friends are invited to attend the wake and rosary at 7 p.m., Friday, December 27, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 804 S. Cleveland St., Dayton, TX. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m., December 28, at St. Joseph. Interment at Our Mother of Mercy cemetery in Ames, TX.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Emily’s favorite charity in her name: Catholic Relief Services, P.O. Box 17090, Baltimore, MD 21297-0303.

Wilson

Ruby Faye Yates Wilson, 96, of Houston died Friday, December 20, 2013 at home.

She was born March 15, 2017 in Eureka, Texas to parents Birt Pascal Yates and Lovie Byrd Yates and had lived in Houston since 1948 after moving from Corsicana. Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Market Street Baptist Church and enjoyed square dancing, cooking, fishing and her yard.

Services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Dayton. Visitation will be 9:00 to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service on Thursday. Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 27, 2013 at the Eureka cemetery in Eureka, Texas.

Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents, the father of her children: Otho C. Beamon, Sr., her husband Bobby J. Wilson, sons Otho C. Beamon, Jr. and Donald C. Beamon, Sr., granddaughter Mitzy R. Kimbrell Roth, grandson Donald C. Beamon, Jr., six brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by her daughter: Ella Mae Beamon Matthews and Gary Korhorn of Houston; her grandchildren: Mae Dean Cockerham and husband Dennis, Thursa Faye Kimbrell, Lovie Precious Graves, and Shawn Ivey Beamon; daughter-in-law: Melva Beamon; sister: Mary Sullins; numerous great and great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

McCoy

Charlene Deniece McCoy, 43, died December 17, 2013

Visitation is Sunday, December 22, 2013 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Wells Funeral Service Chapel 300 Alabama Street in Liberty, Texas.

Funeral Services will be Monday, December 23, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Mt Olive MBC 300 Cedar Bayou Road in Baytown, Texas with Reverend Will Chenier, officiating.

Rhoden

Marsha Ann Rhoden, 59, of Moss Hill, TX, died on Friday December 20, 2013 at her residence.

Martha was born on February 16, 1954 in Liberty, TX to parents; Robert George Arnold and Laverne Kachel. She worked for Wal-Mart as a Sales Representative in Livingston, TX. She lived in Moss Hill most of her life.

Marsha is preceded in death by her Father; Robert George Arnold, Brother; Robert Earl Arnold and her Grandparents.

Marsha is survived by her mother; Laverne Bonder of Moss Hill, daughter; Lee Ann Rhoden and spouse Megan Post of Silverdale, WA. Niece; Amber Arnold of West Monroe, LA, Nephew; Lloyd Arnold II of West Monroe, LA, Great Nephew; Adrian Arnold of West Monroe, LA. Brother; Lloyd Arnold of Moss Hill, Sister; Charlotte May and husband "Dale" of Batson, Grandchildren; Ryland Clint Post-Rhoden, Special Friends; Steven and Lisa Sellers, Mary Adams, Sonya Zbranek, Glenda Vines, Mitchell Young, Sissy Murphy, Gail Crockett, Tracy Lee and a host of loving friends and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family would like to receive her many friends and associates on Sunday December 22, 2013 at 2:00P.M at the Moss Hill cemetery for a time of celebration in remembering our loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Little

Ryan Linton Little, 26, of Dayton, Texas, died Wednesday, December 18, 2013 in Baytown, Texas.

He was a loving son, brother, husband, and father. He was born December 28, 1986 in Channelview, Texas to Troy Dean and Donna Kay Little.

After graduating from Dayton High School, Ryan began his career in construction. He loved all kinds of sports, especially the Texans. He had a big heart, enjoyed life, and above all else, loved his family.

Ryan is preceded in death by his grandfathers; Troy Lee Little and Douglas Farris.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his parents, wife; Melissa Dawn Little, children; Aleah Kaydence Little, Davon Ryan Little, Layton Dawn Little, sisters; Jessica Darlene Cranford, husband Brandon, Jennifer Ann Gamez, husband Juan, numerous aunts and uncles, and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 23, 2013, in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas. Interment will follow at Palms Memorial Park cemetery. A gathering of Ryan's family and friends will be Sunday, December 21, 2013, from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton Texas.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Cranford, Juan Gamez, Blake Griffith, John Garza, Justin Pittman, and Grady Rector.

Lognion

Paul M. Lognion 85 of Hardin, Texas died December 18, 2013 at home with his beloved family by his side.

Among his many accomplishments in life his dedicated service as a certified peace officer. Chief of Police in Hardin for 8 years and was elected as Constable for 16 years for the County of Liberty Pct. 3.

Paul was born on October 19, 1929 in Iowa, Louisiana to Paul Martin Lognion Sr. and Alziere Hardy. He had lived in Hardin since 1974 and was a U.S. Army veteran.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years Carrie Lognion and a great grandson Andrew Michael MacFarlane IV

He is survived by his children Phyllis Lewing of Hardin, Tina Reed and husband Tom of Hardin, Denise and husband Constable Danny Frankum, of Hardin, and Boyd Lognion and wife Georgia of Wellston, Oklahoma.

His grandchildren are, Tommy Reed and wife Carrie, Kim Murphy and husband Alan, Michael MacFarlane and wife Gabrielle, Paul MacFarlane and wife Brooke, Krista Lognion, Kari Allen and husband Jonathan, Phillip Fregia, Stephanie Sutton and husband Joe, Ginny Gilmore and husband Brandon, Laci & Paul Lognion

Great Grandchildren, Jett, Alana, Celeste, Corbin, Brayden, Brynlee, Keegan, Landry, Kaytlyn, Kinzie, Logan, Baylee, Carson and Raegen.
