Comidore Smith 88 of Anahuac died March 03, 2013 at Bayshore Medical Center in Pasadena, TX.

Services will be held Mar. 09, 2013 at Proctor’s Mortuary 518 Miller St., Anahuac. Visitation will begin at 9AM until Funeral which will begin at 11AM. Interment will be in Bayshore cemetery, Anahuac.

He was preceded in death by parents: Prentis and New Orleans Smith, sons: Comidore Smith Jr. and Wendell Randall, sister: Florida Smith, brothers: Willie Prentis Smith and Hyram Smith. Mourning his departure, yet cherishing his memories are; sons: Barney Smith, Anthony Smith Nieces, Nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Service entrusted to Proctor's Mortuary, 518 Miller St. Anahuac.

Younger

Ted Benjamin Younger, 93 years of age and a resident of Cleveland, Texas, died March 01, 2013.

He was born April 17, 1919 in Lyric, Texas to parents Edwin Younger and Jesse Lenora Ellisor Younger who preceded him in death along with his wife of 61 years Miriam Eugenia Younger; brothers Frank Younger and Bob Younger; daughter Janet Fears; and grandson Benjamin Fears. Mr. Younger attended Cleveland High School and 3 years at the University of Texas. He enjoyed playing dominos and especially enjoyed a good debate over politics and religion.

Survivors include his daughter Miriam Billings; sons Ted Benjamin Younger Jr. and wife Sabra, Paul Younger and wife Glenda; grandchildren Laurie Jones, Richard Radford, Ronald Radford, Cole Younger, Rebecca Hudson, David Benjamin Younger, Heather Renfro, Deborah Younger and Judith Younger; great-grandchildren Stephanie Kelly, Colton Younger, Jarod Stapleton, Brittney Perry, Holden Perry, Alden Fears and Breena Colburn; great-great-grandchildren Emma and Abby Cagle; cousin Mary Helen Eason; numerous other family members and faithful friends throughout the years.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, March 05, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, Gulf Coast Region, P.O. Box 570127, Houston, TX 77257-0127 or go to www.cancer.org.

Georgous

Tiffany Reneé Georgous, age 43, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Friday, March 01, 2013.

She was born November 25, 1969 in Beaumont, Texas to parents Fred Sandhop and Sandy Garner.

Survivors include her loving husband James Georgous; father Fred Sandhop and Nancy; mother Sandy Garner; grandmother Betty Wellons; sons Darren and James Robert, daughters Lauren and husband Alex, Amber, Brittanie, Laila; grandchild Haley, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other cherished family members and treasured friends; her loving church family at Cornerstone; her Christian Motorcycle Association, and her conviction family.

Visitation will be held Sunday, March 03 2013, 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Church, Cleveland, Texas. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 04, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Church, Cleveland, Texas with interment following at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens. Pallbearers include Crazy Jeff, Red, Jackie Davis, Mike Cox, Les P., and Danny Jackson; honorary pallbearer Herb.

Cross

Irene Carolyn Cross, a resident of Splendora, Texas, died Thursday, February 28, 2013.

She was born and grew up in St. Louis Missouri, and would have been 92 on March 26. She was a beautician and had her own business until she retired. She then moved to Texas to be near her children and grandchildren. She was a social person and had many friends here in Texas. She loved crafts, playing bingo, cards and dominoes. Family gatherings were always made tastier because she loved to cook and enjoyed trying new dishes. She was a member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in New Caney, Texas. Mrs. Cross lived life with a heart full of love, she was a kind and giving person and deeply devoted to her family. She was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Milton Cross; parents Joseph and Carolyn Santonge; her daughter Valerie Borg; son Harold Meyer; grandchild Michael Borg III; and two sisters Dorthea Boeger and Anna Marie Tuft.

Survivors include her daughter LaDonna Weiser; grandchildren Nick Helfrich, Keith Helfrich, Marla Morgan, Michelle Borg, Vickie Schroeder, Alton Weiser, Frankie Meyer, Eddy Meyer, Andrew Radwanski, Tracie Radwanski, Jeannie Decker, Jill Smiley; great-grandchildren Nicholas Helfrich, Chanda Axton, Haley Morgan, Lance Morgan, Zak Borg, Stormy Borg, Nolan Wahls, Jacy Oliveris, Talon Dillard, and Tristan Dillard; daughter-in-law Regina Meyer; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other cherished family members and faithful friends throughout the years.

Visitation will be held Sunday, March 03, 2013, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Father Hai will preside over funeral services being held Monday, March 04, 2013 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, New Caney, Texas; with interment following at Splendora City cemetery, Splendora, Texas. Pallbearers include Nick Helfrich, Keith Helfrich, Zak Borg, Lance Morgan, Allen Camp, and Gary Axton.

Wilson

Jessie F. Morse Wilson, 85, of Dayton, died Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at the Liberty Healthcare Center in Liberty.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 4, 2013, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at 1 p.m., at Grandview Memorial Park in Pasadena. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Jessie was born September 25, 1927 in Rover, AR, to parents; Arthur Lee and Lula Williams Morse, a former resident of Pasadena, and has resided in Dayton for the past 10 years. She was a retired cook for the Sam Rayburn High School cafeteria, member of the Kenefick Southern Baptist Church, and enjoyed church activities, cooking, and gardening.

Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her father: Arthur Lee Morse, mother: Lula Williams Morse, husband: Oscar R. Wilson, Jr., son: Rusty Wilson, brothers: Buck and Orval Morse, and sister: Inell Munger. She is survived by her sons: Gerald Wilson of Dayton and Kirk Wilson of Dayton, sister: Frances Daigrepont of LA, grandchildren: Nicholas Wilson, Kasey Wilson, Richard Wilson, and Sandy Perkins, great-grandchildren: Berlin, Carter, Austin, Jamie, Marcus, Mason, and Kaitlynn, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Medina

Mary Medina, 83, died Saturday, February 23, 2013 at her residence after an extended illness.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, friend and teacher.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, March 2, 2013 with Rev. George celebrant under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Rite of committal will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Church cemetery in Raywood. A gathering of Mary's family and friends will be from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. A rosary to be recited at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Medina was born in Raywood. She was a substitute teacher for Hull-Daisetta School District. Mrs. Medina was preceded by her husband, Tomas Medina Sr. She loved gardening, teaching children, volunteering at Sacred Catholic Church and visitation of the Elderly.

Mrs. Medina is survived by her son, Thomas Medina Jr. of Raywood; daughters, Deloras Parker and husband, Ron of North Carolina, Danita Hundley and husband, David of Colorado, six grandchildren, Thomas Medina III of California, Shannon O'Neill of Virginia Beach, Angie Harbold and husband, D.C. of New Orleans, Melissa Parker of North Carolina, Brett Hundley of California, Brooke Hundley of New York, and two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Sullivan O'Neill-Davis of Virginia Beach; and a host of other family and friends.

The family wishes to thank New Century Hospice of Beaumont and many others who gave their loving care to Mrs. Medina during her illness.

Gross

Marion Rheu Gross 69, of Batson, Texas, died Wednesday February 27, 2013 in Beeville, Texas.

A service of remembrance will be held Saturday March 2, 2013 at 10:00A.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services Chapel with Clayton Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson. The family will be receiving friends on Friday March 1, 2013 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. also at Faith & Family Chapel.

Rheu was born in Ligonier, Indiana on April 11, 1943 to his parents Donald Alpheus Gross and May Irene Branum and had lived in Batson most of his life and had worked for Shivers Oilfield services of Hull, as a Truck Driver, and had served his country in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Joe Gross and Alpheus Gross.

Survivors are his daughters Debbie Sledge of North Richland Hills, TX and Natalie Everitt and husband John of Moss Hill. Sisters are Elizabeth Gaston of Batson, and Louise Taylor of Daisetta. Grandchildren are Chelsea Sledge, Haley Sledge, Jake Starks, and John Everitt Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Jake Starks and John Everitt Jr.

Service of remembrance under the care of Faith & Family Funeral Services 40847 Hwy 105E. Batson, Texas 77519.

Alexander

Troy Faye Benton Alexander, 81 died February 18, 2013, in Fairfield, Texas, after a long and debilitating illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Raymond Alexander, Jr., her parents, Roger W and MayBelle Clegg Benton, grandparents, Angus and Wessie Benton, a sister, Joy Mae Buxton, and a brother, Roger W. Benton, Jr. She is survived by a sister, Patricia Benton Landwehr, and her husband, Lawrence Landwehr, of Missouri City, Texas, and two nephews and two nieces.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013, from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM, with funeral services to begin at 11:00AM in the Chapel at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Interment will follow in Linney cemetery in Dayton.

Norman

Dixie Walters Norman, 85, of Anahuac died Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at her residence.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and great-great grandmother, sister and friend.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 15, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Anahuac under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac. Interment will follow in Anahuac cemetery. A gathering of Dixie's family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Dixie was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Norman; parents, Andrew and Thelma Walters; sons, Rickie and Roger Norman. She loved working in her garden, quilting, crocheting, sewing, crafts, and baking. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Anahuac. She worked in the Chambers County Christian Caring Center for many years.

Dixie is survived by her daughters, Deborah Wheat and husband, Jackie, Jo Ann Orn and husband, Curtis, Dana Fancher and husband, Butch; sons, Terry Norman and wife, Myra, Russell Norman and wife, Sharon; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 3, great-great grandchildren; sisters, Sylvia Yeats and husband, Johnny, Hilda Nettles and husband, Elmer; brother, Hershel Walters, and wife, June; and a host of other family and friends.

Minchew

Robert “Bob” Dee Minchew age 65 of Liberty, died at his home Monday, February 25, 2013.

Bob was born in McArthur, Texas August 25, 1947 the son of Thurman Wesley Minchew and Etheline Petty Minchew. Bob enjoyed having his daily coffee with his friends and spending time in Arkansas hunting. He worked for numerous years as a Tech Manager for TCI and Time Warner later becoming Comcast. He worked previously as a manager for Coastal Bend.

He was preceded in death by his father Thurman Wesley and his sisters Barbara Peacock and Diane Posey.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of thirty-eight years Sammie Bethea Minchew of Liberty, son; Robert Keith Minchew of Hampton, Ark., daughters; Brandie Bethea Minchew and husband David Aneja of Houston, Bethany Lynne Hanks and husband Ryan of Spring, brother; Wesley Minchew of McGehee, Ark., mother; Etheline Peacock of Monticello, Ark., as well as two grandchildren Destiny Minchew and Annalise Hanks. In addition he leaves numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Visitation for Bob will be held Friday from 6-8PM at the Liberty Church of Christ, 3201 N. Main Liberty, Texas. A memorial service will be held 2PM Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Liberty Church of Christ. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas.

Frias

Marcelina Frias, 78, of Dayton, died Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at her residence.

Graveside services will be held at Tutuaca cemetery in Tutuaca, Chihuahua, Mexico at a later date. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, February 28, 2013, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Marcelina was born May 20, 1934 in Sta. Barbara de Tutuaca, Chihuahua, Mexico, to parents; Jose Jesus Frias and Matilde Lunares Frias, and has resided in Dayton for the past two years. She was a homemaker, member of the Santa Barbara Catholic Church, and enjoyed gardening, cooking, and sewing.

Mrs. Fria was preceded in death by her father: Jose Jesus Frias, mother: Matilde Lunares Frias, husband: Pedro Trevizo, daughter: Velma Trevizo Frias, sisters: Guadalupe Frias, Francisca Frias, Manuela Frias, and Eloisa Frias, brother: Humberto Frias, and son-in-law: Elias Trevizo. She is survived by her daughters: Armida Trevizo of Dayton, Rosalia Frias and husband Filiberto of WY, Matilde Frias and husband Francisco of McKinney, and Yolanda Trevizo of Dayton, sons: Victor Trevizo and wife Lucy of Dayton, Rafael Trevizo and wife Alma of Dayton, Gerardo Trevizo of Dayton, and Rodolfo Trevizo and wife Maribel of Plano, brother: Carlos Frias of Ferris, sister: Beatriz Frias of Dallas, 20 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Bryson

Sherry Jean Hallman Bryson, 57 of Pasadena died on Sunday, February 23, 2013 at M. D. Anderson with her family by her side.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. Interment will follow in Magnolia cemetery. A gathering of Sherry's family and friends will be from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home before the service.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Bobbie Hallman. She loved fishing and being with her children and grandchildren. She also loved making her yearly trip to Alabama. She graduated from Deer Park High School in 1974. Attended San Jacinto College in Dental Assistant.

Sherry is survived by her husband, 38 years, David Bryson; daughter, Amy Diane Figueroa and husband, Jereme; son, Joshua Shane Bryson and wife, Crystal; granddaughters, Preslee Bryson and Alley Jean Figueroa; brothers, Thomas Hallman and wife, Zoya, Ricky Hallman and wife, Pam; and a host of other family and friends.

Milstead

Olia Fay Milstead, 84, of Kountze, died Monday February 25, 2013.

She was born on February 26, 1928 in Spurger, Texas. She was a member of the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Sour Lake. She loved to sing and to crochet. She also enjoyed doing puzzles.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilson Milstead; parents, John and Maysel Parker; grandson, Donnie Allan Poe.

She is survived by her children, Johnny Paul Milstead and wife Cindy of Sour Lake, Maudine Milstead Lancaster of Sour Lake, Katie Thomas of Nederland, Mildred Louise Hatton of Bridge City, Danny Wilson Milstead of Amarillo; sister, Anna Lee Hendrix of Port Arthur; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Faith and Family Funeral Services Chapel on Wednesday February 27, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until noon. A graveside service is scheduled for Wednesday February 27, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Bumstead cemetery in Lumberton, officiated by Pastor James Votaw.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Faith and Family Funeral Services, 40847 HWY 105 E., Batson, TX, 77519, (936) 262-2100 or (936) 336-2222.
