Tulley

Stacey Leigh Tulley, 40, of Daisetta, loving mother of Joshua Tulley and daughter of George and Joyce Tulley, went to be with the Lord on Sunday July 15, 2012.

She enjoyed the fellowship of First Baptist Church of Liberty where she was an active member. She was admired by her coworkers at Walmart where she served as a cashier. Her radiant joy for life was shared with all who knew her, especially her aunts and uncles and other family members.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Vernon and Audrey Nichols and her paternal grandparents, T.W. and Fern Tulley.

She is survived by her son, Joshua Tulley of Daisetta; parents, George and Joyce Tulley of Daisetta; brother, Brian Tulley and wife Deb of Calamis, Iowa; nieces, Beth, Anne and Sarah Tulley all of Calamis, Iowa; numerous nieces, nephws and cousins.

Her family will receive friends Wednesday July 18, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Liberty. A service of remembrance is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday July 19, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Liberty, officiated by Reverend Bill Fabriguze and Reverend Steve Bean. Burial will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Harrison, Perry Best, Howard Brister, Doug Shaw and Bert Shivers.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Faith and Family Funeral Services, 40847 HWY 105 E., Batson, TX, 77519, (936) 262-2100 or (936) 366-2222.

Dubose

Gerald Dubose, age 69, of Mont Belvieu passed away suddenly on July 15, 2012 in Baytown, TX.

Gerald was born on March 24, 1943 in Liberty, TX son of the late Elbert Dubose Sr and Ardelia Abshire Dubose. He loved to hunt and fish and loved going to his granddaughter’s softball games.

Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Elbert Dubose Jr, Preston Dubose, sisters; Geraldine Martel, Loretta Nugent, Dorothy Ray, Lucille Aldrich and Faye Watson. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife; Shirley Dubose, daughter; Rebecca Cook and companion Brad, grandchildren; Shalena Hodges, Lindsey Sanne and Stasie Moore; great-grandchildren; Kiley Collier, Dylan Burnitt and Shelby Burnitt; sisters; Betty Martel, Linda Bartel and husband Grady and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Sterling Funeral Home, 602 North Main, Dayton, TX on Wednesday July 18 at 7pm. Visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm, two hours before the service.

Montalvo

Sylvia Montalvo, born August 16, 1946 passed away July 13, 2012.

Sylvia went to join her Lord and Savior and her parents, Manuel and Manuela Montalvo, sister, Minerva Zapata and brother, Alex Zapata.

She will be greatly missed by her siblings, Rosalinda Munoz and husband Ben, Bobby Montalvo and wife Jeanette, Joe Lopez and wife Debbie and Emma Bameul and husband Pierre; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Sylvia was loyal to her family and had an individual love for each of them. She made everyone laugh and smile. Her legacy will be carried in the hearts of all her nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Odyssey Hospice and Liberty Health Care and Amelia Vasquez for their dedication and care given to Sylvia.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm Monday, July 16, 2012 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm Monday evening. Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Forest Park Lawndale Main Chapel with interment to follow in Forest Park Lawndale cemetery.

There will be a Catholic Memorial Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 804 S. Cleveland St. Dayton, Texas on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 10:00 am for friends and family in Dayton and Liberty Texas.

Echols

Frances Devon Echols, age 82, of Liberty, died on July 14, 2012 with her loving family by her side. Frances was born December 12, 1929 in Amarillo, TX, daughter of Ray and Margaret Norrid Hickenbottom.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Echols. She leaves behind to cherish her memory daughters; Annette Boerm and husband David of Liberty, Andra Mize and husband Glen of Victoria, TX, sons; Ray Edwards Jr and wife Sandra of Raleigh, NC, Bobby Edwards and wife Connie of Sandia, TX, 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Arraignments have been entrusted to Allison Funeral Service, 1101 North Travis, Liberty, TX. No services are scheduled at this time.

Johnson

Roberta “Bobbie” Veda Lawrence Johnson, 88, of Austin died Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Walnut Hills Center in Austin. She was born August 26, 1923 in Dayton, Texas at her residence to parents, Robert B. and Veda Lawrence. She was a ninth generation Texan and lived her entire life in Dayton until she became ill.

After graduation she married W.M. Trousdale and they had two daughters, Wyliene and Sheral. She was an active member of Dayton PTO and participated in many charitable activities of the community. Bobbie was an active life member of the Houston Livestock and Rodeo which she began when it was known as the Houston Fat Stock Show. She was treasurer of the Texas Independence Trail Ride for several years.

Services for Bobbie will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 16, 2012 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Magnolia Park cemetery. Visitation will be 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Pace-Stancil.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, W.M. Trousdale and Buford Johnson, and daughter, Sheral T. Skinner. She is survived by her daughter, L. Wyliene Trousdale of Houston; granddaughter, Hannah Menger and husband Matthew of San Antonio; grandson, David Skinner, Jr. of Austin; great-grandsons, Wylie Menger and Cade Menger of San Antonio, numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Gillespie

Robert E. Gillespie, Jr., 93, of Dayton, died Friday, July 13, 2012 at his home.

He was born October 31, 1918 in Goose Creek, Texas where his father worked on an offshore oil well. His family moved from place to place following the oil boom; first to Electra, Texas then to Olney and back to Electra. They traveled to Wink, Texas, to California and back to Texas to the Rio Grande Valley. During all these travels Robert moved from school to school, but he finally graduated from Reagan High School in Houston.

Services for Mr. Gillespie will be10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 14, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Dayton with Rev. Dale Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Sinton cemetery, Sinton, Texas.

He served in the Army Signal Corp for four years, mainly stationed in Alaska and Albution Islands during World War II. After Robert’s honorary discharge, he set out to attend A & M University in Kingsville, and then with his bachelor’s degree he went to Waco, Texas to attended Baylor University.

Soon after Robert met his future wife, Aileen Adams, who happened to be a Navy veteran. They married August 18, 1947 and were married for 64 years. Their beloved son, Lindsey, died at the age of 35. Robert and Aileen also fostered and helped raise two beautiful children Ted and Jo Ella Joiner. Robert and Aileen traveled extensively with their travel trailer across the United States and Canada. Robert served faithfully as a deacon at Bellaire Baptist Church and First Baptist Church Kingsland. He served in the Mission Service Corp. at several camps in Arizona and Alto Frio Encampment in Texas. Robert’s greatest joy was serving the Lord in his church, state and Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Queen Ann Gillespie, sisters, Marion Houston, and Emalene Carter, and son Lindsey Gillespie. Left to mourn his passing are wife of 64 years, Aileen Gillespie, daughter, Jo Ella Kinberger and husband Gary Smith, son, Ted Joiner, grandchildren, Lauren Kinberger, Michael and Bryan Joiner, sister, Betty Ann Lewis and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Evans

Lillian Muriel Evans, 91, of Hull, TX died July 12, 2012 at Fairy’s Landing Residential Personal Care Center in Hull.

On January 12, 1921 Muriel was born in Honey Island to Tom Walters and Vicy Spell Walters and had lived in the Liberty County area for most of her life and was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Hull for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Esker T. Evans, brothers; Norman Walters, Benford Walters, Pete Walters, and Raymond Walters. Sisters Evelyn Tucker, Opal Faircloth, Tommy Jean Gulley, Ethel Dempsey. Daughter and son in law; Betty Garrett and James Henry Garrett, Jr. Grandson; Mike Garrett, granddaughter; Gay Lynn Garrett Wilkerson.

Survivors are brother; Grady Walters and wife Doris of Silsbee, Son; Robert T. Evans and wife Marguerite of Nome, daughters; Judy Whitehead and husband Jimmie of Liberty, Alice Carr of Daisetta. Grandchildren: Robbie Evans of San Antonio, Rhonda Evans Ducote and husband Steve of China, Renee Evans McClanahan and husband Luke of San Antonio, Lance Carr and wife Brenda of Daisetta, Lori Carr Wright and husband Gary of Grosebeck, Lana Carr Pickett and husband Jeffery of Woodville, Jimmie Whitehead Jr and wife April of Liberty, Jay Whitehead and wife Amy of Lake Jackson, Jonathan Whitehead and wife Onya of Hardin, Kandis Garrett Dennis and husband Steve of Montgomery, TX Great grandchildren : twenty one, Great Great grandchildren: one and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service of remembrance will be held on Sunday July 15, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services of Batson with Reverend Nathan Otto of First Baptist Church of Hull officiating, interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson. The family will be receiving friends also on Sunday July 15, 2012 from 1:00 P.M. until time of service at Faith & Family.

Service of remembrance under the care of Faith & family Funeral Services 40847 Hwy 105 E. Batson, Texas 77519. ”

Moore

Paula, better known as Polly Moore was born to Paul and Callie Moore on October 16, 1950. Polly died at Memorial Herman Hospital on Thursday, July 12th in Katy, TX.

She was a graduate of Liberty High in 1970. She had a great love for life.

Polly has lived the last 10 years of her life at the Brookwood Community, in Brookshire, TX.

She was preceded in death by her Father, Paul and her Mother, Callie. Polly will be missed by Laura, Linda, Betsy, Bob, Bruce, Randy & David, Residents and caretakers at Brookwood.

There will be a graveside service at the Augusta cemetery in Augusta, TX on Saturday, July14th at 11:00AM under the direction of Huntsville Funeral Home.

Lykos

Anna H. Bingham Lykos, 91, of Liberty died on Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, July 16, 2012, at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Liberty. Interment will follow in Forest Park West cemetery, 12800 Westheimer, Houston, TX 77077. A gathering of Anna's family and friends will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 15th at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lykos was preceded in death by her husband, I. J. Lykos; brother, Victor Suneson. She taught for Liberty ISD for over 40 years. She was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Liberty and Daughters of the King. Anna loved reading and studying the Bible.

Mrs. Lykos is survived by her daughters, Carla Wear of Baytown; Bernie Hall and husband Jim of Baytown; grandchildren, Derek Hall and wife, Alicia; Jessica Chapman and husband, Troy; great-granddaughters, Lisette and Sofia Hall, and Zoe Chapman.

Brown

Liberty Anne Brown, infant daughter of Jesse Brown and Christina Willson Brown, died on July 7, 2012, also the day of her birth, in Baptist Hospital, Beaumont, Texas.

Liberty is survived by her parents, a brother, Jasper Brown, her twin sister, Dixie Brown, parental grandparents, James and Julie Brown, maternal grandparents, Jeannette Willson, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012, 2PM, at Cooke Memorial cemetery, Liberty, Texas.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis, Liberty, Texas 77575.

Shauberger

Ila Loraine Bond Shauberger, 79, of Liberty died July 10, 2012.

Ila was born on March 13, 1933 in Buna, Texas, to Fletcher Bond and Ruth Bond McManus. She graduated from Liberty High School in 1951 and began working at the local phone company shortly after that. Ila also worked at the Brookshire Brothers Grocery Store in Liberty for twenty-six years. She would always greet you at the checkout register with a smile and most times with an interesting story to go along with that smile. She enjoyed music and dancing but most of all, spending time with her family and friends.

Ila was preceded in death by her husband Gleason Shauberger; brother, John Bond; sisters, Georgia McManus and Frances Allen. She is survived by her daughters, Dolly Turner and husband Richard of Crosby, Kathy Schultz of Phoenix AZ, Debbie Dylla and husband Matt of Burton, and Melody Fisher and husband David of Liberty, brother Bobby McManus and wife Joy Kay of Hardin, and sister Nora Jean King and husband Terry of Longview. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Sean Hagan, Christopher Hagan, Kathleen Dossey, Eric Fisher, Jonathan Fisher, and Andrew Schultz and three great grandchildren, Amanda Dossey, Madison Fisher and Addison Hagan and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday July 13, 2012 from 5-8PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. Funeral Services will be held 10AM Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Liberty with burial to follow in Hardin Chapel cemetery.

Frazier

Diana Sue Frazier, 66, of Woodville, formerly of Dayton, died Tuesday July 3, 2012 at her home.

She was born on February 17, 1946 to Isaiah Lorenzo Graham and Bernice Bishop Graham. She was the youngest of ten children. Her mother passed away when she was 14 months old. She was then raised by her sister, Willie Ernestine Smith. Diana spent most of her childhood in Dayton. The last 15 years or so she has lived in the Woodville area. Diana battled Rheumatoid Arthritis for the last 30 plus years. Diana made many friends during her lifetime. She kept children in her home for working parents and many of these children grew up calling her Aunt Diana.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Isaiah and Bernice Graham; siblings, Travis Graham, Mildred Webb and Willie Ernestine Smith.

She is survived by her son, Keith Frazier of Woodville; siblings, Delores Nolen of Warren, Millie Ruth Gillen of Jewett, Clyde Graham of Rathdrum, Idaho, Noel Graham of Newman Lake, Washington, Albert Graham of Woodville and James Graham of Lumberton; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Saturday July 21, 2012 at Kenefick Baptist Church.
