Fregia

Ealson Fregia, 83, of Hull, died Sunday June 12, 2011 at Liberty Health Care Center of Liberty.

He was born August 15, 1927 in Liberty Texas to Clint Fregia and Bernice Junkins Fregia. Ealson was a Oilfield Pumper for Harrison Interest of Hankamer and was a member of The Central Baptist Church of Daisetta and had lived in Hull for thirty five years. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Donald Ealson Fregia, grandson; Shawn Murphy; brothers Maurice Fregia and Clifton Fregia. Survivors are wife Rose Fregia of Hull, sons Glenn Fregia and wife Barbara of Liberty, Greg Fregia of Russellville, Arkansas; daughters, Becky Murphy and husband Mike of Liberty, Mary Cantrell and husband William of Hull; brothers R.W. Fregia of Liberty, Vernon Fregia of College Station, Franklin Fregia of Angleton, Texas; sisters, Alma Vogel of Liberty, Mary Fregia of Liberty, Norma Williamson of Liberty; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

His family will receive friends at Faith and Family Funeral Services Chapel Tuesday June 14, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A service of remeberance is scheduled for Wednesday June 15, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Faith and Family Funeral Services Chapel, officiated by Rev. David Cross. Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson.

Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Cantrell, Jim VanDorn, William Cantrell, James Michael Fregia. James Richard Fregia and Boog Bourgeois. Honorary pallbearers are John Cross and R. W. Fregia.

In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Ealson Fregia may be made to The Central Baptist Church of Daisetta Building Fund.

Arrangements are under the direction of Faith and Family Funeral Services, 40847 Hwy 105 E., Batson, TX, 77519, (936)-262-2100 or 936-336-2222.

Vinson

Helen Ashworth Vinson, 92, of Pasadena died on Saturday, June 11, 2011 in Shepherd, TX. She was a loving mother, granny, and great granny.

Graveside services will be held at 12:30pm on Thursday, June 16, 2011 in Grandview Memorial Park in Pasadena.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Carl "Pineknot" Vinson. She loved cooking and being in the country with her family and friends. Helen also loved dancing and listening to country music.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Shirley Yarbrough and husband Stanley, Peggy Newhouse and husband Richard; grandchildren, Monte Holden and wife Sharon, Chris Holden and wife Donna, Stacie Holland and husband Stacy; great grandchildren, Kasey Ibarra and husband Eric, Cole Holden, Stanton Holland, Slayton Holland, great- great grandson, Max Ibarra.

Patterson

Margaret Sumie Patterson, 79, of Dayton, died Friday June 10, 2011 at Heritage Villa Nursing Home of Dayton.

She was a warm and caring person who never met a stranger. She was a survivor of the atomic bomb blast of Hiroshima, Japan. She was a Roman Catholic nun for a time. She eventually became involved in nursing and served as a nurse in New Iberia, LA. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her special friends Irene Welshhans and family of Old River, Tomiko Robinson and family of Dayton, Jessica Hester and family. Cremation handled under the care of Faith & Family.

Cowan

Mildred Louise Cowan, age 86, died Sunday June 12, 2011, in Liberty.

Mildred was born in San Augustine, Texas on April 17, 1925, the daughter of the late Henry and Louise Mae Oliver. She enjoyed cooking, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren. Mildred worked as a nurse’s aid providing care to the elderly and was a devoted member to her church, Gospel Assembly of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles W. Cowan Jr., daughter Diana Lynn Collins, son-in-law Randy Morgan, and two stepbrothers. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters Charlene Louise Whisneant and husband Lester of Tarkington and Penny Morgan of Liberty. In addition, she leaves her four grandchildren Deana Butler, Deborah Dunn, Les Whisneant and Trace Morgan as well as seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis, Liberty, Texas. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial services will be private.

Evans

Bill Lloyd Evans of Hull, age 82, died Friday, June 10, 2011 in Houston, Texas.

Bill was born in Asher, OK July 3, 1928 the son of the late James Murphy Evans and Minnie Pearl Holland Evans. He was retired with over twenty-five years of service from Stanley Well Service in Liberty. In his early years Bill enjoyed playing his guitar, banjo and singing in a band. Always in his overalls, later in life Paw paw’s routine was to start his day at Wal-Mart visit the community center and on weekends to Mas Amigos and Brookshire Brothers.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Sharline Ruth Evans, grandson Joseph Wesley Hall, four brothers and three sisters.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughters Mary Hall and husband Joseph of Moss Hill, Debbie Evans of Kingman, AZ, Ruth Ann Duff and husband Ray of Raywood, and Wanda Duff and husband Larry of Liberty. A sister Lois Wing of Baytown as well as nine grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren, and twelve great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday June 14, 2011 from 5-8PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. Funeral services will be held 11AM Wednesday June 15, 2011 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Moss Hill cemetery.

Jackson

Edna Mae Jackson, 92, of Devers, died Friday June 10, 2011 at her residence.

She was born March 13, 1919 in Shiloh Texas, to Felix Acreman and Minnie Lee Braziel she had lived in Conroe for most of her life before moving to Devers.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Jackson her parents, and numerous brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her son James Edward Jackson and wife Lois of Huntsville, daughter Norma Jean Traywick of Devers. Grandchildren are Vernon Traywick and wife Patty of Devers, Donna Traywick Hart and husband Artie of Devers, Cathy Traywick Jones and husband Anthony of Devers, Shenee Renfro of Conroe, Ryan Hall of Huntsville, James Robert Jackson of Huntsville. Great- Grandchildren Colleen Traywick of Devers, Joseph Rayon and wife Randi of Devers, Dustin Hart of Saratoga, Chelsi Traywick of Devers, Seth Traywick of Devers, Cortney and Alisha Jones of Devers, Luke Hughes of Devers, and great -great grandchild Raegen Lee Rayon of Devers.

A service of remembrance will be held on Tuesday June 14, 2011 at 10:00A.M. at The First United Methodist Church of Devers with Reverend Mary Gossett and Reverend Rick Edwards officiating, interment to follow at Rice Belt cemetery in Devers.

The family will be receiving friends on Monday June 13, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. also at First United Methodist Church of Devers.

Pallbearers are Vernon Traywick, Joseph Rayon, Seth Traywick, Anthony Jones, Tevin Mouton and Fabian Galvan. Honorary pallbearers will be Arkie Traywick, Luke Hughes, William Rayon, Artie Hart, Ryan Hall, James Robert Jackson, Kevin Patterson and Clinton Ayers.

Taylor

Cecil Dagle Hart Taylor, 91, of Kountze, formerly of Batson, died Thurday June 9, 2011.

She was a member of the Church of Christ Faith. She was a home healthcare provider. She was a member of the V.F.W. Hall. She loved to dance. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Grady Hart; second husband, Jake Taylor; parents, Franklin E. and Nellie Dagle; grandson, Clayton Hart; granddaughter, Rhonda Ramsey.

She is survived by her son E.C. "Dump" Hart and wife Willie Mae of Saratoga; sister, Serline Polhemus of San Antonio; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 22 great great grandchildren.

Her family will receive friends at Faith and Family Funeral Service on Sunday June 12, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. A service of remembrances will be held Monday June 13, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Faith and Family Funeral Service with Reverend Grady A. Hart and Pastor Mike Brown. officiating. Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dwight Anderson II, Jeremy Hart, Bubba Hart, Dustin Hart, Cody Lee, Dylan Ryan, Chris Neff, Drew Ryan, Gary Ryan, Jr., and Colby Freeman.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Kountze Healthcare Center and Professional Healthcare Hospice.

Partlow Young

Geraldine “Deanie” Partlow Young, age 85, died Thursday, June 9, 2011 in Houston.

Deanie was born in Liberty, Texas November 12, 1925 the daughter of the late R.G. Partlow and Voe Calhoon Partlow. She was a dedicated member of her church, Hardin United Methodist Church and enjoyed her puzzle books. As a young woman she ranched, farmed, and rode horses. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. A homemaker mainly, she also worked for Hardin ISD as a substitute teacher.

She was preceded in death by her husband Horace Hamilton Young, sister Rose Partlow, and her brothers Ross and Sam Partlow.

She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Laura Yarbrough and husband Bill of Hardin, Sophie Etheridge and husband Kenny of Dayton, sisters Helen Fairbrother of Liberty, and Elizabeth Wilson of Houston. Five grandchildren, William Yarbrough and wife Carrie, Lane Yarbrough, Roxie Asbill and husband Michael, Laura Lee Williams and husband Brad, Hec Etheridge and wife Hayley. As well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 10, 2011 from 5-8PM at Hardin United Methodist Church in Hardin. A funeral service will be held 2PM Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the church with burial to follow in Hardin Chapel cemetery.

Brown

Mary Francis Brown, 91, of Saratoga, died Wednesday June 8, 2011 at her residence.

A native of Alexandria Louisiana she had lived in Saratoga most of her life and was an homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Saratoga.

She was preceded in death by her husband J.W. Brown daughters Lillian Laird, Rosemary Ann Martin, Florence McAdams, Sharon Courts and Son Tony Allen. Brothers Wilford Irby, Alton Irby, A.P. Irby, Marvin Irby and half brother Leonard Irby and two sisters Helen Brown, and Katherine Campbell. She is survived by her sons Glenn Ray Brown of Saratoga, J.M. Brown and wife Betty of Saratoga, Reverend Darrell Brown and wife Dorothy of Batson, Johnny Brown and wife Lou Ann of Saratoga, Bearl D. Brown and wife Becky of Highlands, Gerald Dean Brown of Saratoga. Daughters Ida Nell Pierce and husband Carl of Baytown, Brenda Gail Fowler and husband Robert of Saratoga, Vickie Lynn Daily and husband Terry of Saratoga, Linda Ruth Arrant and husband Homer of Saratoga, and Teresa Renee Simmons and husband Kenny of Liberty.

Numerous grandchildren, great -grandchildren, great- great- grandchildren and great-great great grandchildren and a host of loving friends.

A service of remembrance will be held Saturday June 11, 2011 at 10:00A.M. at First Baptist Church of Saratoga with with Reverend Frank Aragon, Reverend Jeff Blizzard and Reverend Darrell Brown officiating. Interment will follow at The Old Hardin cemetery in Kountze.

The family will be receiving friends on Friday June 10, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church 7474 Birch Street Saratoga TX.

Harmon

Ray Harmon, 76, of Tyler, died on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at his residence. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 11, 2011 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac. Interment will follow in Abshier cemetery in Hankamer. A gathering of Ray’s family and friends will be from 1:00 to 2:00 Pm on Saturday at the funeral home.

Ray was born in Dayton, Texas and graduated from Anahuac High School. He was one of five children born to the late Margaret and Carroll Harmon of Dayton, Texas. Ray recently lost his oldest brother Billy; and he is survived by his beloved wife Jeanette; two sons, Scott and Colt Harmon and three stepsons, Richmond, Billy, and Jim Driscoll; two brothers, Buddy and Don Harmon; one sister, Edith Colley; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and countless other family members and friends whom were blessed to know him.

Ray was in the oil and gas business most of his life. He served in the US Army 1957 thru 1959 and was recalled during the Cuban Crisis in 1962. He was a professional Rodeo rider for twelve years where he rode bulls saddleback with bareback riding his specialty. Ray was the first official member of the Rodeo Cowboy Association from Chambers County and he was a Life Member of the Houston Live Stock Show where he was a Committee man for eight years.

Ray truly loved his family and friends and never tired of lending a helping hand to any in need. His favorites however were always children and animals. There was a special bond between Ray and his grandchildren that started when he attended their births. His grandchildren adored him and he treasured every moment spent with them. While he always surrounded himself with animals, in his last years he had two special dogs, Terry and Little Bit, and they shared a mutual devotion that was special to watch.

Ray was an avid collector of anything western, guns, aeronautical, memorabilia, books, artwork, antiques and precious junk. If you needed something you could always go to Ray and he would have it somewhere in his vast collection.

Ray touched the lives of many people with his smile, kindness and generosity and he maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.

Craig

Mary Rosetta Craig, 81, of Hardin, died on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Magnolia Place Health Care Center. Visitation will be Friday, June 10, 2011, from 12:00pm until 1pm, at Allison Funeral Service Chapel. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 1:00pm at Allison Funeral Service Chapel with Reverend Harold Davis officiating.

Mrs. Craig was born on February 22, 1930 in Beaumont, Texas to parents, Benjamin Franklin McMurtry and Nora Ellen Sturrock McMurtry. She was a member of the Hardin Pentecostal Church. Mrs. Craig taught Driver’s Ed for Region IV for several years. Rosetta loved to crochet and cross stitch and sewing in general. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two daughters; Patricia Ann Craig and Deborah Kay Dudley. Survivors are; husband, Burnard Lee Craig Sr., one son, Buddy Craig and wife Betty, three grandchildren, Cory Craig, Amanda Denny and husband Chris, Bruce Alberson and wife Mandy, five great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis St., Liberty, Texas 77575.

Bailey

John Parker Bailey died Tuesday, June 7, 2011 in Liberty, Texas.

John was born in Bellevue, LA June 21, 1920 the son of the late James Sledge Bailey and Clorater Winfiele Bailey. He joined the US Army Air Corp in 1941 where he served as a radio repairman during WWII. Upon his discharge he started his own business, B&B Radio and Television. John was active in the Liberty Community serving as member of the VFW, Sons of the Confederacy, and the Liberty Elks Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Jewel T. Bailey, grandson Micah Felcman, son John Parker Bailey Jr., and brothers, Howard S. Bailey, Elwood T. Bailey, and Marion S. Bailey. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughter Mindy Felcman Miralia of Charlotte, NC, great granddaughter River Felcman, and great grandson Miles Felcman. Visitation will be held Friday, June 10, 2011 from 5-8PM at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas.

Funeral services will be held 10AM Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Liberty City cemetery.

Wilson

Nina Lucille Carr Wilson, 76, of Dayton, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at home.

She was born November 20, 1934 to parents Eddie Melvin Carr and Bernice Gladys Butcher Carr and was a member of the Dayton High School Class of 1953. Mrs. Wilson was a lifetime resident of Dayton where she had been a member of the First Baptist Church, the Dayton Garden Club, and a volunteer of the Joshua Tree Meal Service. She enjoyed gardening, tending her flowers and fishing, but most of all being with her family.

Services for Mrs. Wilson will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 10, 2011 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Piatt officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Park cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 27 years Troy Wilson, and her grandson: Troy Aaron Gibson. She is survived by daughters: Susan Potetz & husband Louie of Liberty, Laura Wilson of Dayton, and Lisa Gibson of Port Bolivar; son: Anthony Wilson & wife Jessica of Wisconsin; grandchildren: Abby Taylor, Matt Gibson, Morgan Potetz, Ariana Potetz, Haylay Wilson, and Troy Wilson; great-grandchildren: Grey Taylor;
