Hazlip
Douglas Vincent Hazlip, 43, of Liberty died April 26, 2008 at the Memorial Hermann Hospital as a result of a car accident.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 2 P.M. at the Fairlawn cemetery in Liberty. Dr. Harry McDaniel Sr. from the First Baptist Church in Devers will officiate.
Douglas was born in Liberty and attended Lee High School in Baytown, TX. He worked as a superintendent for Monroe Concrete Construction in Baytown. He enjoyed fishing and working.
Douglas is preceded in death by his father, Henry Vincent Hazlip Jr. and his brothers, Henry Randal Hazlip and Kelly Lee Hazlip of Liberty.
He is survived by his wife Becky Hazlip of Liberty; mother, Billye Hazlip of Dayton, and brother, Rodney Keith Hazlip of Dayton. Stepsons, T. J. Boudoin and Jake Forbus; stepdaughter, Dawn Razo and grandchildren, Jasmine Wilson and Jeremiah Razo; nieces, Christina and Angela Hazlip and nephew, Keefer Hazlip as well as many aunts and cousins also survive.
Yates
Michael David Yates, 51, of Dayton died Sunday, April 27, 2008 in Houston. He was born March 18, 1957 in Houston to parents: Sherman and Maxine Broadway Yates. He was a 1975 graduate of Smiley High School and attended Henderson State University in Arkansas. Mike had been a resident of Dayton for the past 2 years, previously of Bismarck, Arkansas. He was employed with Dayton Independent School District, working at the High School and Jr. High. He attended the Crosby Church and enjoyed the Astros.
Memorial Service for Mike will be 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.
Mr. Yates was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his sisters: Jinnie Washmon and husband Richard of Dayton, Kitty Yates of Humble, Carol Hopkins and husband Micah of Houston, and Melissa Gonzales and husband Ruben of Tomball; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Copeland
Joyce Evelyn Copeland, 77, of Macedonia, Texas, died, Saturday, April 26, 2007. She was born in Macedonia on March 26, 1931 to W.E. and Myrtle Lum; both preceded her in death along with her brother, Wayne Lum; sister, Hazel Peavy; and her son, Ricky Copeland.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at Lum Garden of Memories in Macedonia, Texas while Bro. Jerry Matthews officiated. The pallbearers and honorary pallbearers escorting her to her final resting place are; Mark M. Stuck, Bobby Lum, Richard Eaton, Earnest “Bubba” Morgan, Doyle Ritchie, Mike Martinez, Mark Stuckey, Zeke Stuckey, Mike Davis, and Paul Elliott.
Survivors included her loving husband, Joyce Evelyn Copeland, daughters, Beverly Davis and husband, Mike, Dani Stuckey and husband, Mark; son, Lonnie Copeland and wife, Brunhilde; grandchildren, Daniela Elliott and husband, Paul, Sandra Ritchie and husband, Doyle, Zeke Stuckey, Mark M. Stuckey; great-grandchildren, Matthew Elliott, Christopher Elliott, and Donavon Copeland-Ritchie; sisters, Camilla Martinez and husband, John, Wanda Fay Driskell; brothers, Roy Lum and wife, Virgenia, Gerald Lum and wife, Dianne, Bruce Lum and wife, Gail; seventeen nephews and sixteen nieces with numerous other loving and caring family members and a host of friends beyond measure.

Freddie M. “Skipper” Donatto, 86, of Ames, Texas, died Friday, April 25, 2008 at home.
Freddie was born on November 29, 1921 in Ames, Texas to the late Francois and Margaret Donatto. Freddie was a life long resident of Ames, TX, a life member at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, life member of the Knights of Peter Claver Counsel 33, life member of the Liberty VFW Post 5621, member of the Claver Rite Social Club and Flaming Torch Social Club, founder and Fire Chief for 25 years of the Ames Volunteer Fire Department, one of the original organizers of the Ames Minglewood Water System, and built and co-founded with his wife Ora the Tweety Bird Nursery School. Freddie was a carpenter by trade, and worked for John W. Mecom Drilling and Oil Company in construction, Diamond Shamrock as a Head Operator, and taught shop class for 2 years at Liberty Middle School after retirement.
Freddie was preceded in death by his parents, Francois Donatto, Jr. and Margaret (Jordan) Donatto; siblings, Dewey and Alton Donatto, and grandchild Kevin M. Trahan.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 67 years, Ora A. (Guillory) Donatto; children, Joseph T. Donatto, Mary Margaret Trahan, and Valencia Arceneaux (Adam); siblings, Alice Kibbe, Anne Guillory (Frank), and Rita Verette; sister-in-law, Carolyn Victorian (John); grandchildren, Anita Donatto, Victor Donatto (Tonya), Danielle Donatto, Nicole Donatto, Nicole Donatto, and Major G. Scott Trahan (Michelle); great-grandchildren, TaNia Donatto, Nailah Donatto, Simonne Donatto, Josephine Jones, Adam Donatto-Gunter, and Andrew T. Trahan.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 28, 2008 from 6-9PM at Allison Funeral Service in Liberty, TX. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, April 29, 2008 starting with a 9AM Rosary Service followed by a 10AM Mass at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Ames, TX. Burial will also be Tuesday following the funeral Mass in Ames Catholic cemetery.
Haltom
Tony H. Haltom, 61, of Dayton died peacefully at home Friday, April 25, 2008. He was born August 8, 1946 in Liberty, Texas to parents James H. and Dora Lockard Haltom. He was a graduate of Dayton High School in 1964 and had been an employee of North Houston Pole Line where he worked as an electrician under the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers #716.
He also was a member of the Texas Cattleman’s Association and enjoyed camping on his property in Dolen.
Mr. Haltom was preceded in death by parents and step-brother: Ronnie Humphries. He is survived by wife: Barbara Starkey Haltom of Dayton; daughter: Amy Moreau and husband Gary of Dayton; sons: Richard Haltom of Dayton and Allen Haltom of Daisetta; grandchildren: Emma Haltom and Kindal Moreau; step-mother: Marie Haltom of Crosby; sister: Valerie Haltom of Baytown; step-brother: Joe Humphries and wife Jo Ann of Crosby; step-sister: Judy Humphries of Crosby and sister-in-law: Sandra Louviere of Dayton.
At Tony’s request, there will be no formal service. He will be cremated and interred in Dolen, Texas at a later date.

Marberry
Mrs. Faye Marberry died on Friday morning, April 25, 2008, in Devers, Texas at the home of her granddaughter Melissa Myers.
Visitation will be Sunday evening, April 27, 2008 from 5pm until 8pm at the New Life Assembly of God Church in Batson, Texas. Funeral services will be Monday, April 28, 2008, at 10:00am, at the New Life Assembly of God Church, Batson, Texas. Burial will follow in the Moss Hill Community cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wes Strahan, Ben Marberry, James Duke, Weston Jones, Charles Marberry Jr. and Steve Marberry. Honorary pallbearers will be Lance Duke, Ricky Myers, Guy Phillips, and David Drown.
Faye Cupit Marberry was born on January 31, 1912 in the New Hope Community in San Augustine County to parents, Eugene W. Cupit and Mary Jane Peoples Cupit. She was the youngest of eight children and was the last surviving member of her family. She was a resident of Batson for the last thirty years. Mrs. Marberry is survived by five children, Robert L. Marberry of Fairfield, Texas, Bennie Marberry and wife Erma of Lumberton, Texas, Betty Duke and husband Billy of Elderville, Texas, Thelma Strahan and husband James of Fannet, Texas and Mary Phillips and husband Loyd of Batson, Texas, one daughter-in-law, Lola Marberry of Moss Hill, Texas. Mrs. Marberry is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, forty-five great-grandchildren and fourteen great-great-grandchildren.

Catherine Sue Weatherly, age 56, of Dayton, TX, died Thursday, April 24, 2008 in Baytown Rehabilitation and Health Care.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 28, 2008 at Sterling Funeral Service, Dayton, TX., at 10:00 A.M., with Reverend Gene Summers officiating, with burial following in Palms Memorial Park cemetery, Dayton, TX. A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2008 at Sterling Funeral Service, Dayton, TX., from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
Catherine was born on July 1, 1951, in Baytown, TX. to Elbert Lee and Marquita Hargrave Breeding. She graduated from the Barbers Hill High School and later married
Roy Fred Weatherly, her true partner in life for 27 years. She was a very loving lady who was always willing to help others. She never met a stranger and loved to have fun. Her joy in life was singing, going to church and spending time with her family and friends.
Catherine is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Roy Fred Weatherly, and one sister, Della Elizabeth Breeding.
The survivors are two sisters, Billie Herrin, Belinda Whitten and Tyrone Powledge, of Old River, numerous nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and great nephews, an extended family of many friends who will miss her dearly.

Taylor
George Andrew Taylor, Jr., 56, of Anahuac, Texas died Friday, April 25, 2008.
He was born on April 28, 1951 to George Andrew Taylor, Sr. and Shirley Marie (Mason) Taylor in Baytown, Texas. He graduated from Barbers Hill High School in 1969. George was an outgoing, caring, and compassionate father, husband, grandfather and friend. He loved to fish Sabine Lake and hunt deer, ducks, and squirrels. He not only enjoyed watching and playing sports, but he was very active in sports organizations. He was a member of the Texas Association of Sports Officials, the Anahuac Athletic Booster Club, and help start the Anahuac Youth Athletic Association.
George is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Tinker Woodson. He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Taylor; five sons, Ralph Oler and wife Samantha of Anahuac, Terry Taylor and wife Iram of Spring, Brent Taylor and wife Kelley of Marble Falls, George Taylor III and wife Heather of Anahuac, and Jimmy Taylor and wife Natalie of Austin; eight brothers and sisters, R.J. Taylor, Roy Lee Taylor, Clara Ruth Fuchs, Donnie Taylor, Dennis Taylor, Dozier Taylor, Elizabeth Taylor, and Ricky Hill; eight grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday, April 27 at Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac. A service of remembrance will be held at First United Methodist Church in Anahuac at 2:00 PM Monday, April 28 with Rev. John Black officiating. Interment will follow in Anahuac cemetery. Mary “Angela” Sahr, 44, of Houston, a very special girl, died on Friday, April 25, 2008, at the Methodist Hospital in Houston.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at Moss Hill United Pentecostal Church with burial following at the Jacob-Boothe Family cemetery in Moss Hill. Visitation will be held Tuesday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Angela was born in Lufkin on January 2, 1964 to parents, George and Mary Malnar Sahr and has resided in Houston for the past ten years. She was a graduate of the LaPorte High School class of 1986 and enjoyed music, writing, reading, and puzzles.
Miss Sahr was preceded in death by her father; George Sahr. She is survived by her mother: Mary Sahr of Houston; sisters: Sharon Mikesell of Seabrook and Debra Smith and husband Larry of LaPorte; brothers: George Sahr of Porter and Kevin Sahr and wife Mary of Porter. She is also survived by a host of relatives and friends.
Killingsworth
Harold Dean Killingsworth, 79, of Splendora, Texas, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008. He was born in Limestone County, Texas on November 16, 1928 to Claude and Dessie Killingsowrth who preceded him in death along with his brothers and sister, Troy, Alvis, Johnnie, Clodene, Melvin, and Claude David.
Survivors includes his loving wife, Shirley Killingsworth; six daughters, Deborah, Donna, Beth, Deanna, Angela, and Phillis; five sons, Dean, Jr., Leslie, Ronnie, Gary, and Larry; sister Ima Jean; brothers, Jake, Maurice, and Glenn; grandchildren, Cathy, Jessica, Amanda, Chris, Jason, Christina, John, Michael, Charles, Cody, Randy, Andrea, Sharon, Ronnie, Theresa, Cody Shaun, Shannon, and Eric; great-grandchildren, Marty, Daniel, Adam, Stacey, Ashley, Toni, Austin, and Jaycee; numerous nieces, nephews and other cherished family members and caring friends.

Wilma Collins Pursch, 78, of College Station, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at the Texas NeuroRehab Center in Austin.
She was born February 10, 1930 in Livingston to her late parents, Ed and Hilma Collins, graduated from French High School in Beaumont, and married
Warren Pursch in 1947. Wilma enjoyed traveling around the country with her husband, entertaining, dancing, and playing Bridge. She and her family moved to Dayton in 1971, and was a founding member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Liberty. She moved to College Station in 2004 to be closer to her daughter and nieces and nephews. Recently, her greatest joy has been being entertained by her great nephew, Jacob Paterson, and her great niece, Sophie Willis.
Mrs. Pursch was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Warren Pursch and her brother, Dick Collins.
Survivors include: daughter, Dianne Pursch of Cedar Park/College Station; sister, Edith Sanford of Columbus; brother, Donald Collins of Batson; sister in law, Connie Pursch Rokowitz of Poteet and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 26, 2008 at the Palms Memorial Park in Dayton.
Pallbearers will be Robert Willis, Robert Pursch, Troy Collins, Kenneth Collins, James Beard, Rob Willis, James Burge, and George Paterson. Serving as Honorary Pallbearer will be Lloyd Bouton

LeBlanc
Funeral Service for James Douglas “Black” LeBlanc, 60, of Bloomington, Indiana, will be held Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at Trinity Valley Baptist Church, Liberty, Texas with the Reverend Gregory Bellard, officiating with burial in Wells Memorial cemetery.
A native of Dayton, Texas, he was a graduate of West Liberty High School. After school he pursued his dream riding horses, a budding career which had begun as early as Junior High School.
He died April 25, 2008 at Bloomington Hospital in Indiana after an illness.
Visitation will be held Saturday at noon until time of the service at the church.
He is survived by one daughter: Virginia LeBlanc of Bloomington, Indiana, two sisters: Linda LeBlanc Adkins, of Houston, Texas and Elizabeth LeBlanc Thomas of Choctaw, Oklahoma; three brothers: Ivory LeBlanc of Victoria, Texas, Glendale LeBlanc of Louisville, Kentucky and Leonard LeBlanc of Fort Washington, Maryland and a host of other relatives and friends.
