Garrett
Amelia Garrett, 93, of Hardin, died Wednesday, October 17, 2001 at Magnolia Place Nursing Home in Liberty.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, October 19, 2001 at Allison Funeral Service in Liberty, with Rev. Bill Fabriguze and Rev. Tony Hines officiating. Interment will follow at Hardin Chapel cemetery in Hardin, Texas. Visitation will be Thursday, October 18, 2001 at Allison Funeral Service from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
Mrs. Garrett was a lifelong resident of Hardin, Texas. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, quilting and reading her Bible.
She was preceded in death by her Husband James H. Garrett, Sr.; Parents; Brothers: Frank, Edward and E.B. Crouthers; Sisters: Alice Whitlock, Norman Crouthers, and Cecilia Pittman. Two Grandchildren, Michael Garrett and Gay Garrett Wilkerson.
She was survived by her son: James H. Garrett, Jr. and wife Betty of Liberty, Texas, sisters: Edna Sims of Hardin, Texas and Agnes Taylor of Batson, Texas; grandchild: Kandis Garrett Dennis of Kingwood, Texas, Great-grandchildren: Katherine Amelia Wilkerson, William Garrett Wilkerson and Michael Calhoon Wilkerson all of Woodville, Mississippi; Allison Anne Dennis and Ashley Lynn Dennis both of Kingwood, Texas. Numerous other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be David Wilkerson, Stephen Dennis, Frank Green, Pat Larson, Bryan Zickefoose and Dwayne Gott. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Garrett Wilkerson and Cal Wilkerson.

Wheeler
George Charles Wheeler, 82, of Cleveland, died Wednesday, October 17, 2001 at the Methodist Hospital in Houston. He was a native of Stowe, Vermont, had lived in the Cleveland Area since 1971, and was a retired member of Pipe fitter’s Local #211, a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II and a Life Member of the Cleveland V. F.W. Post #1839.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 20, 2001 at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with burial to follow at 2:00 PM at the Mims cemetery in Conroe.
He is survived by his Wife: Jimmie Wheeler of Cleveland; Sons: Richard C. Wheeler and his wife Tine of Conroe, Travis Kelley of Cleveland, Jimmy Kelley and his wife Carolyn of cypress and Kenneth Tindall; Daughter: Glenda Sue Turner of Porter; Sisters: Nancy Haeckel of Connecticut and Joan Hicks of Houston; 9 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren. Mikeska
Dorothy Mae Mikeska, 71, of Dayton, died Monday, October 15, 2001, at the Liberty-Dayton Hospital in Liberty. Born in Houston she had resided in the area for many years. She is preceded in death by her Husband: Algy Lowie Mikeska. Services will be held at 9:30 AM, Wednesday, October 17, 2001 at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Chapel in Dayton with the Rev. Jerry Galvan officiating. Interment will be held at 3:00 PM at the Memorial Oaks cemetery in Houston.
She is survived by her Son: Randy Don Mikeska and his wife Pamela of Tarkington; Daughters: Patricia Fay Bortner and her husband Ronald and Sheri Denis Pankratz and her husband Ray all of Dayton; Brothers: L. T. Davis and his wife Mildred of Spring and Jems O. Davis and his wife Diana of Florida; Grandchildren: Mark, Michael, Keri, Kayla, Julius and Kristina and 8 Great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Mark Bortner, Michael Bortner, Julius Pankratz, Jason Caldara, Gary Davis and Michael Polasik.

Bricker
Marguerite Humber Bricker, 78, of Liberty, passed away October 15, 2001 at the Liberty-Dayton Hospital in Liberty. She was born January 1, 1923 in Liberty to parents, D. Humber and Nellie Worthy Humber.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2001 at the North Main Baptist Church, 4709 Hwy. 146 North in Liberty. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 16 at the Allison Funeral Service from 5 to 9 p.m.
Mrs. Bricker had resided in Liberty her entire life. She was a homemaker who enjoyed her grandchildren, working with plants and decorating her home. She was a Baptist.
Marguerite is survived by: Husband, Robert Bricker of Liberty; Son: James Bricker and wife, Connie, of Liberty; Daughter: Patty Williamson and husband, Harvey of Hardin; Grandsons: Cliff Williamson and wife Melissa of Huntsville, Denton Bricker of Liberty, Jamie Bricker of Plano, TX and Chris Williamson of Hardin. Mrs. Bricker also leaves one brother, J.D. Humber and wife Eliane, of Liberty.
Haywood
Martha Ann Haywood, 81, of Liberty, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2001 at her residence. Services will be Wednesday, October 17, 2001 at 2:00 P.M. in the Allison Funeral Service Chapel in Liberty with Rev. Jerry Johnson officiating. Mrs. Haywood was born June 3, 1920 in Center, TX. She was a lifetime resident of Liberty. She enjoyed stamp collecting and Western History. She was also a baseball fan and especially favored the Houston Astros.
Mrs. Haywood was preceded in death by her parents: Bertha Ellis and Thomas Holmes Dillon, and her husband, Presley Haywood.
She is survived by her sons: David Haywood and wife Maryann of Baytown, Darrell Haywood and wife Susan of Humble and Jay N. Haywood of Baytown. Daughter, Diane Huddelston, of Liberty, TX. Sister: Francis Waldrop of Liberty and Brother: Benjamin Ellis Dillon of San Angelo, TX. Six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Joe Bob Evans, Sr., 67, of Daisetta, died Thursday, October 11, 2001 at Union General hospital in Blairsville, Georgia. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 17, 2001 at Allison Funeral Service in Liberty with Rev. Nolan Taylor & Rev. James Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Moss Hill cemetery in Moss Hill. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Tuesday, October 16, 2001 at Allison Funeral Service in Liberty, Texas.
Mr. Evans was a native of Asher, OK. and had lived in Daisetta, most of his life. He was a retired Tool Pusher in the Oil Well industry. He enjoyed bingo, and rabbit hunting.
He is survived by Daughters: Misty Evans of Riverdale, Georgia, Penny Hunt Roane and Peggy DeJoseph both of Blairsville, Georgia; Sons: Joe Bob Evans, Jr. of Daisetta, Texas, David Michael Evans & wife Donna of Devers, Texas and David A. (Bubba) Evans & wife Pam of Blairsville, Georgia; Brother: Bill Evans & wife Ruth of Moss Hill, Texas; Sisters: Charlotte Lois Wing of Baytown, Texas & Betty Jean Yenor & husband Charlie of Raywood, Texas. 11 Grandchildren & 5 Great-Grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Rosie Preston, 86, of Dayton, died Wednesday, October 10, 2001 at the Baytown rehabilitation and Health Care in Baytown. She was a native of Humble and lived in Dayton since 1946, having spent 8 years in Venezuela. She was a member of the First Baptist church in Dayton, the ladies 5 Sunday School Class, the Liberty-Dayton Hospital Auxiliary and Women's club of Dayton. Services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, October 13, 2001 at the First Baptist church in Dayton with the Rev. Gary McGough and Mr. Norris Ritchie officiating. Burial will follow at the Palms memorial Park in Dayton under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
She is survived by her Daughter: Shirley Neuman and her husband E. B., Jr. of Dayton; Adopted Son: Willis Ray Preston and his wife Bobbie of Lindale; Grandsons: Kyle Neuman and his wife Terry of Pilot Point and Nandy Neuman and his wife Sandy of Dayton; Adopted Grandchildren: Shannon Preston, Frankie Preston and Lisa Preston and Several Great-Grandchildren. Pallbearers will be: Darrell Brown, Lester Ray Wisegerber, Paul Anderson, Bill Johnson, Jim Brown, Claude Harding and Jack Uncle.

Knight
O.P. "Cotton" Knight, 81, of Daisetta, Texas passed away Saturday, October 6, 2001 at his residence, after an extended illness.
Services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 10, 2001 at Allison Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Ronnie Trice officiating. Pastors Prentice and Becky Knight will be assisting. Burial will follow at Magnolia Hill cemetery in Segno, Texas. Visitation Will be from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 6, 2001 at Allison Funeral Service.
Mr. Knight was a lifetime resident of Liberty County and had lived in Daisetta, for 30 years. He was a Truck Driver for E.A. Johnson and Sons in Daisetta, for 23 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was especially an avid and accomplished woodworker. Mr. Knight was also a member of the VFW and a veteran of WWII.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and one sister. Survivors include his wife of 51 years: Dorothy Knight of Daisetta, Son: Pastor James Prentice Knight and wife Becky of Sandy, Utah. Brothers: Alton Knight of Hull, Texas and Marshall Knight of Seabreeze, Texas. Two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Doucette
James Thomas Doucette, Jr., 68, of Liberty, died Tuesday, October 9, 2001 in Houston after a very brief illness.
He was born January 22, 1933 in Batson, Texas to parents, Carmen and James Thomas Doucette, Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Liberty, Texas where he attended Liberty High School. He worked in the oil field industry since he was 16 years old and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Dayton. James was currently employed at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home. He married
JoAnn "Jo" Swearingen on December 22, 1951 and they reared their family in Liberty.
Services for James a will be 1 PM, Thursday, October 11, 2001 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton. Interment will follow at Palms Memorial park cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, JoAnn Doucette of Liberty; Daughters: Susan Gayle Camardelle from Spring; Sherre Lynn Weeks and husband Winfred O. Weeks of Fruitvale, Texas; Debbe Kaye Pugh and husband Mike of Spring; Son: James Thomas "Tomme" Doucette, III of Liberty; Grandchildren: David Donald Smith of Houston, Wende Lynn Weeks, Shara Rene Weeks and Melissa Kay Weeks of Fruitvale, Texas, Kemberlee Pugh and Kristee Lenn Pugh of Spring. Great-granddaughter: Taylor Gabrielle Smith of Houston.
He is also survived by his mother: Carmen Namoi Doucette of Liberty; Sisters Ercolle Fox and husband Pete of Hampshire Fannett, Bobbie Wiggins of Comesneil, Jerry Wiggins and Evelyn Allen both of Liberty; Sue Heinz and husband Wayne of Buffalo Gap, Sister-in-law, Neeta Swearingen of Liberty, Norma Swan and husband Jimmy of Alvin, Brother-in-law, Jerry Swearingen and wife Linda of Liberty. Numerous nieces, nephews and a host of loving friends.

Ruby Edith Johnston Krone, 93, of Dayton, Texas, was born June 14, 1908 in Chicago, Illinois, adopted daughter of C. W. and Fannie Ellsworth, died Sunday, October 7, 2001 at her residence in Dayton.
She was preceded in death by her Parents: Husband: Arthur C. Krone: Son: "Bud" and Grandson: Bradley Ross. She is survived by her daughters: Betty Lee Annesley and her husband M. L. of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Nadine Rau and her husband Roland of Taylor, Texas and Joyce Miller Harwell and her husband James of Dayton, Texas: Daughter-in-law: Avis Krone; 18 Grandchildren: 22 great-grandchildren; half-brother: C. W.
