Dorothy Anthony Scott
Services for Dorothy Anthony Scott, 43, of Crockett, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Hampton Memorial Church of God in Christ in Crockett with the Rev. Harry Fred Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Vistula Cemetery in Austonio with Emanuel Funeral Home in Crockett handling arrangements.
Mrs. Scott died Sunday at her residence.
She was born April 10, 1959 in Houston County to Robert and Mittie James Anthony.
Mrs. Scott was a member of Progressive Baptist Church in Crockett. She graduated from Crockett Public School and attended college in Oklahoma. She was employed at the Crockett Care Center.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Scott is survived by her husband, Fredrick Scott of Crockett; son, Fredrick Scott Jr. of Crockett; daughter, Kamerica LaShay Scott of Crockett; brothers, Eugene Patton, Robert Anthony Jr., both of Palestine, Donather James and Willite Patton, both of Crockett, and Dennis Anthony of Houston; sisters, Bammer Oviedo and Barbara Anthony, both of Crockett.
Dionne Diane Swanson
Services for Dionne Diane “Dee-Dee” Swanson, 31, of Palestine, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray Charles McQueen officiating. Burial will be in Mason Cemetery in Palestine under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home in Palestine.
Ms. Swanson died Dec. 14.
She was born March 14, 1971 to Girthie Swanson and James Oliver Prince.
Ms. Swanson attended Houston ISD and Palestine ISD schools. She was a member of Park Place Baptist Church and later First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father; her grandparents, Raymond and Lula McQueen; great-grandparents, Isiah and Lue Hall; a brother, Steven Larenzo Swanson; and a sister, Carla Jean Swanson.
Ms. Swanson is survived by daughters, Dominique, Keionna and Treasure Swanson, all of Palestine; her mother, Girthie Swanson; grandparents, Oscar and Mary Wilson and Marian Swanson; brothers, Joe Billy Swanson of Houston, Lee Edward Swanson, Lievincer Swanson and Emmiel Swanson, all of Palestine; sisters, Carolyn Swanson, Savio Swanson, Lola Hall, Chasity Swanson and Natarsha Swanson, all of Palestine.
Harold Clifford Willburn
Services for Harold Clifford “Cliff” Willburn, 79, of Fairfield will not be held at the request of the deceased. Mr. Willburn will be cremated and his ashes buried in a family plot in Alice.
Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield is handling arrangements.
He was born Feb. 20, 1923 in Hutchinson County to David Hyron Willburn and Louisa Ward Willburn.
Mr. Willburn was a resident of Fairfield for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Alice Willburn of Fairfield; son, Michael Willburn of Houston; daughters, Charlotte Genoway of Houston and Susan Cloninger of Fairfield; brothers, Glynn Willburn of Vidor, Pete Willburn of Cibolo and Blaine Henry Willburn of Alice; sisters, Dorothy Willburn of Denver, Colo., Ann Buckalew and Flois Henrichsen, both of Bay City, and Betty Buchanan of Tennessee Colony; two grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.

Iva Mae Gillespie
Services for Iva Mae Gillespie were at 10 a.m. today at the Cathedral of Faith in Houston with the Rev. Micheal Jones officiating. Burial followed in the Jimmison Quarters Cemetery in Tennessee Colony. Paradise Funeral Home in Houston was in charge of arrangements with Emanuel Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements.
Wilbert Jene White
Services for Wilbert Jene White, 68, of San Antonio, and formerly of Elkhart, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Washington Chapel Church in Elkhart with the Rev. Calvin Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Pilgrim Cemetery in Elkhart under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home.
Mr. White died Wednesday in San Antonio.
He was born April 5, 1934 in Fort Bend County to Albert White and Lubertha Johnson White.
Mr. White was employed by North Star Dodge as a mechanic for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Nell White; and an infant son.
Mr. White is survived by children, Jerry White, Joe Ray White, Billy Joe White, Gary White, Terry L. White, Randy White, Wilma Striggers, Nolia Mullett, Linda Turner, Loretta Thomas, Theresa White and Margie Frazier; siblings, Norris White, Kenneth White and Peggy White; and 12 grandchildren.
Betty Ruth Davis Arnett
Services for Betty Ruth Davis Arnett, 65, of Houston and formerly of Palestine and Anderson County, will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church in Pert with Rev. Mike Glenn officiating. Burial will be in Mound Prairie Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Palestine.
Mrs. Arnett died Thursday in Houston. She was born August 16, 1937 in Palestine to John Tom Davis and Alline Herrington Davis.
Mrs. Arnett graduated from Palestine High School in 1956 and attended Southwestern College in Georgetown. She worked many years in the office furniture and supply business in Houston. She enjoyed her pets, reading, watching baseball and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Ray Arnett of Houston; three children, Sandy Polson and husband Timothy of Sugarland, Sharon Arnett and Michael Arnett of Houston; and two brothers, J.T “Tommy” Davis and Dan Davis, both of Palestine.
Pallbearers will be Rush Herrington, Jim Thornell, Tim Polson, John T. Davis, Mark W. Davis and Chad Davis.
Condolence calls will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.

Lorene Stripling
Services for Lorene Stripling, 98, of Cleburne will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Herrington/Land of Memory Chapel with Rev. Buford Stockard officiating. Private burial will be at Chambers Cemetery near Palestine.
Mrs. Stripling died Thursday in a Cleburne nursing home.
Horace Jackson “Jack” Walding Jr.
Services for Horace Jackson “Jack” Walding Jr., 67, of Jacksonville, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with the Revs. Ricky Smith and Timmy Adams officiating. Burial will be in Earle’s Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Walding died Sunday at a Tyler hospital.
He was born June 2, 1934 in Pert.
Mr. Walding was a retired machine operator, formerly employed at Path Products in Jacksonville. He was a member of Full Gospel Church and a lifelong resident of Jacksonville.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shelia McFarland, in 1997.
Mr. Walding is survived by his wife, Gloria Walding of Jacksonville; son, Phillip Walding of Jacksonville; daughters, Bonnie Scoggins of Jacksonville and Donna Tadlock of Canton; sisters, Ethel Boykin of Jacksonville and Claria Wolf of Georgia; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dole Swinney, Johnnie Sanders, Roger Sanders, Kenny Tant, Daniel Walding and Gene Beamon.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Melvin Lacy
Services for Melvin Lacy, 39, of Palestine, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Southside Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Holcombe officiating. Burial will follow in Land of Memory Cemetery under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory.
Mr. Lacy died Sunday in Palestine.
He was born Jan. 22, 1963 in Houston to Melvin Wayne and Betty Jo Lacy.
Mr. Lacy was raised in Houston and lived in Palestine for the previous 2 1/2 years. He was a manager at the Wal-Mart warehouse in Tucker. He was a Christian and attended Southside Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Rhonda Lacy of Palestine; his parents of Houston; sons, Michael Lacy and Matthew Lacy, both of Palestine; a daughter, Megan Lacy of Palestine; brothers, James Rushing and Dale Lacy, both of Houston, and Terri O’Brien of California; sisters, Charlotte Rushing and Cindy Marquez, both of Houston.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Patricia Lorraine Marshall
Services for Patricia Lorraine Marshall, 58, of Palestine, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Herrington/Land of Memory Chapel with the Rev. Zacharias Kunnakkattuthara officiating. She will be cremated.
Mrs. Marshall died Wednesday at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.
She was born Oct. 12, 1943 in Baltimore.
Mrs. Marshall was raised in Baltimore and came to Palestine after moving from Galveston. She was a heavy equipment operator with Pennzoil while living in Galveston.
She is survived by sons, Ralph Nusbaum of Galveston and Kevin Nusbaum of Maryland; daughter, Dorothy Carmichael of Palestine; brothers, Raymond Dix of Florida and Robert Matheny of Baltimore; sisters, Ama Sydnodinas of Baltimore and Darlene Fretard of Virginia Beach, Va.; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Addie Quarles Cooper
Services for Addie Quarles Cooper, 94, will be at 3 p.m. Monday in the Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Revs. Larry Reeves and Barney Walker officiating. Burial will be in Strong Memorial Park.
Mrs. Cooper died Thursday at Cartmell Home for the Aged.
She was born July 4, 1907 in Slocum to William Hillary Quarles and Lela Harrison Quarles.
Mrs. Cooper was a member of the First Baptist Church in Elkhart. She was a homemaker. She previously lived in Freeport.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Cooper, in 1989; and a daughter, Sue Smith, in 1996.
Mrs. Cooper is survived by sons, Al Rainey of Cypress, Calif. and Bill Rainey of Elkhart; brothers, Dr. N.K. Quarles of Nacogdoches, G.H. Quarles of Irving and A.C. “Boo” Quarles of Palestine; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Steven Glenn Grimes
Services for Steven Glenn Grimes, 43, of Palestine, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Herrington/Land of Memory Chapel with Dr. Dan Gold officiating. Burial will follow in Land of Memory Cemetery.
Mr. Grimes died Wednesday at East Texas Medical Center in Fairfield.
He was born May 31, 1958 in Dallas to Raymond and Lila Grimes.
Mr. Grimes was raised in Northeast Texas and had lived in Palestine for 14 months. He was employed with Patterson Drilling Company. He was a Christian.
He is survived by his father, Raymond Grimes of Texarkana; mother and stepfather, Lila and Wayne Thomas of Maud; wife, Barbara L. Grimes of Palestine; sons, Joshua Grimes of Bloomburg and Andy Grimes of Arkansas; stepsons, Ricky Grimes of Arkansas, Robert Gomez of Palestine, and David Gomez of Gladewater; daughters, April Grimes of Texarkana and Jessica Grimes of Arkansas; stepdaughters, Jennifer Thorp of Gilmer and Amanda Gomez of Palestine; brothers, Paul, Chance and Byron; a sister, Connie; and 16 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David Gomez, Robert Gomez, Charles Blackley and Bill Thorpe.
Honorary pallbearer will be Rodney Fisher.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Roman Rios Almazan
Services for Roman Rios Almazan, 26, of Fairfield, will be at 5 p.m. today at Capps Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Coerean Grande in Mexico.
Mr. Almazan died Wednesday in Fairfield.
He was born May 7, 1976 in El Guauavo Tlatlaya EDO, Mexico.
Mr. Almazan was an electrician for Gregg Industries Insulators. He was a Catholic.
He is survived by his parents, Salvador Almazan and Maria Luisa Rios Estrada of Mexico; brothers, Jose Ortez Estrada of Fairfield, Abraham Almazan of Corsicana and Hermelanda Almazan of Dallas; sisters, Alicia Almazan of Dallas, Graciela Almazan of Clarksville and Clara Almazan of Dallas.
Rev. Henry D. Vincent
Services for the Rev. Henry D. Vincent, 74, of Palestine, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Harvest Time Church with the Revs. J.A. Griffin, S.D. Dodd, Doug Herrell and Larry Tilmon officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Rev. Vincent died Wednesday at his home.
He was born March 11, 1928 in Burleson County to James Elijah and Janie Merka Vincent.
Rev. Vincent was a minister and member of Snook Assembly of God Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the VFW Post 3907 and the American Legion.
Rev. Vincent graduated from S.A.G.C. on June 1, 1951. He established and built the First Assembly of God Church in McGregor. He was pastor of Westside Assembly of God Church for more than 30 years, retiring in 1991 after 43 years of pastoral service.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Beatrice Shell.
Rev. Vincent is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce Giesenschlag Vincent of Palestine; daughter, Carol Bayless of Palestine; son, Robert James “Bobby” Vincent of Midland; sisters, Marjorie Rannals and Meleesee Rozell, both of Tyler, and Joanna McGill of Dallas; brother, James L. Vincent of Snyder; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Garland Bass, Wayne Smith, Mike Morton, Larry Jung, Frank Brown, Robert Elom, Eddie Wesson and Herman Linam III.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Robert Vincent, Justin Bayless, Taylor James Vincent, Chance Vincent Bayless, Ryan Neves and Patrick Ely.
