Jesus Z. Florez
HARLINGEN, TX — Jesus Z. Florez, 92, of Harlingen went to be with the Lord Thursday, January 27, 2005.
Mr. Flores was a farmer in San Benito for many years and retired from the City of Harlingen after 20 years.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Maria V. Flores; parents, Albino and Maria Z. Flores; sisters, Juanita F. Rodriguez and Trine F. Soto; and a brother, Tranquilino F. Flores. He is survived by his son, Jesse (Aurora) Flores; grandchildren, Orlando Jesse Flores and Adelicia Ann Flores; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, January 28, 2005 from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 29, 2005 departing the Rudy Garza Chapel of Peace at 1:30 p.m. for a 2:00 p.m. service at 2nd Presbyterian Church in Harlingen and interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Robert C. Reilly
HARLINGEN, TX — Robert "Mike" Reilly, 79, of Harlingen, Texas entered into eternal rest at his residence on Tuesday, January 25, 2005 in the loving embrace of his immediate family. He was born in Harlingen, Texas on June 27, 1925 and for many years worked as a Lineman for Magic Valley Electric.
Mr. Reilly is survived by his wife, Leona Reilly, Harlingen, Texas; son, Patrick (Lake) Reilly, Harlingen, Texas; 2 grandsons, Steven and Thomas Reilly, Harlingen, Texas; twin brother, Barton "Pat" Riley (Sarah) Kerrville, TX.
There will be a 10 a.m. Graveside service at Mont Meta Memorial Park on Saturday, January 29, 2005 with Minister Andy Joiner officiating.
Funeral services are under the direction of Thomae-Garza Funeral Directors, 395 S. Sam Houston Blvd., San Benito, Texas.
Clayton D. Stump
LAGUNA VISTA, TX — Clayton D. Stump, 74, passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 26, 2005 at his residence.
Born August 30, 1930 in Larimer County, Colorado to Clarence H. and Alice E. Stump.
Clayton was a graduate of Loveland High School in 1948, he was a veteran of United States Air Force and was a Jet Technician from 1950-1954; worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company from 1955-1976. Then he and his wife, PJ owned and operated a retail store "Rampart Studios" from 1976-1981. Then became a farmer from 1982-1994 and retired in 1994, moved to the Rio Grande Valley, Port Isabel area. He was a member of B.P.O.E.
Survivors include his loving wife, Patty Jo (PJ) Stump of Laguna Vista, TX; his son, Clayton (Connie) D. Stump, Jr.; 3 grandchildren, Jamaica, Abbey, and Kayla; and 3 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Lila Pearl (Albert J.) Klingenberg of Loveland and Arizona, Clarence (Emily) H. Stump, Jr. of Loveland; nieces and nephews, Brian Stump, Kevin (Debbie) Stump all of Loveland, Roger (Elaine Foe) Klingenberg, Sue Klingenberg, grand-nieces and nephews.
Private memorial services to be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Laguna Vista Humane Society.

Dorothy Jean Schwope
PRAIRIE VILLAGE, KS/HARLINGEN, TX — Dorothy (Dottie) Schwope, 84, of Prairie Village, KS and Harlingen, TX, died on January 26, 2005, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center after a short illness.
She was preceded in death by her son, Lawrence (Larry) Hill II, a Vietnam veteran in 1989, and by her husband, John Schwope, who passed away on January 4, 2005.
Born Dorothy Jean Grout in Kansas City, MO, she graduated from William Chrisman High School in Independence, MO. Dorothy spent her entire career and retired from Sheffield/ARMCO Steel. Dorothy particularly cherished her relationships with her friends and neighbors and is remembered fondly by all.
Dorothy and John were patrons of various charities /organizations including the Veterinary School of Kansas State University and the Huntington‘s Disease Society. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. Playing the organ and gardening were some of Dorothy‘s hobbies.
She is survived by a niece, Barbara Gunther of Jersey City, NJ and a nephew, Fred J. Line II of Madison, CT.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Monday, January 31, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Chapel, 10507 Holmes Rd., Kansas City, MO 64131.

Roland G. Acheson
HARLINGEN, TX — Roland G. Acheson, age 83, of Harlingen, TX formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away with his wife by his side Wednesday, January 12, 2005 in Harlingen.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 51 years, Liz Acheson; his brother, Bobby; and his sister, Vivian.
Surviving are his wife of four years, Polly Acheson and her children, Patricia (David) Barnett, Bill (Carol) Schenk, Robin (Woodrow) Kellogg; his brother, Howard Acheson; a very special nephew, Howard (Gail) Acheson Jr.; several other nieces and nephews.
Roland served with the U.S. Army 32nd Infantry "Red Arrow" Division during WWII, was a life time member of the VFW Post, The American Legion, The 40 & 8, had retired from Reynolds Metals after 35 years of service, was active with the Amateur Ham Radio Operators. He is a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
His memorial service will be held Saturday, January 29, 2005 at Camelot in the Lodge at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Cathy Cox of Grace Lutheran Church will officiate. Members of the American Legion Post 205 and Post 439, the 40 & 8, and the Veteran‘s of Foreign War in San Benito will present a program honoring Roland‘s heroic service during World War II.
Memorials can be made to the American Legion Post 205 Unit 439, Building Fund or to the San Benito V.F.W. A Soldier has gone to Glory 88‘s and 73‘s.

Dolores Saldana
HARLINGEN, TX — Dolores Saldana, 92, entered the Lord‘s heavenly kingdom on Thursday evening, January 27, 2005 at Harlingen Medical Center.
He had been employed by the City of Harlingen at the Tony Butler Golf Course for 27 years.
Survivors include his wife, Evangelina Gonzalez Saldana of Harlingen; a son, Gonzalo (Guadalupe) Saldana of Harlingen; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be today, January 29, 2005 at 10 a.m., at Trinity Funeral Chapel. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Masoleum in La Feria.

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, TX — Cynthia Welch, 45, passed away on January 25, 2005 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.
Cindy was the previous owner of the Flamingo Hotel of South Padre Island. Cindy loved life.
She loved living on the island. She loved playing on the beach with her son and his little friends.
Cindy‘s outgoing, beautiful personality and her generous spirit will be sadly missed.
She is survived by her son, Jake Hay of Las Vegas, Nevada; mother, Shirley W. Welch of La Feria, TX; father, Ralph Welch of Mobile, Alabama; sister, Tracy Johns of Jacksonville, Florida; nephew, Josh Johns of Charleston, South Carolina; her dog, Snowflake; and special friends whom she loved.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 30, 2005 from 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Christ‘s Harbor Church, 1441 Santa Isabel Blvd., in Laguna Vista, TX.

Frances Lee Richardson
SAN BENITO, TX — Frances Lee Richardson, 74, passed away at Harlingen Medical Center on Thursday morning.
She retired from Levi Strauss Company after 20 years.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia and her husband, "Norbert" Kneis of Kentucky; three sons, Dicky Richardson and his wife, Debra of San Benito, Rick Richardson and his wife, Margie of Colorado, Mike Richardson and his wife, Elizabeth of Harlingen; one sister, Billie Maedgen of McGregor TX; 11 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
Chapel services will be held Saturday, January 29, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Henry Thomae Funeral Home Chapel in San Benito.
Burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Kneis, David Richardson, Bobby Richardson, Dale Richardson, Richard Ingle, Edward Guzman, Jerry Cortez, and "Smiley" Aguilera.

HARLINGEN, TX — Frances May Stevens, 87, went to be with our Lord on January 26, 2005 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.
She was survived by her son John Stevens, grandchildren; Ara Veronica, Brian Ray, Robert Anthony Stevens, Marie Klingman, Leora, and Shannon Hicks. Frances is preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Stevens and by her daughter Nina Hicks.

HARLINGEN, TX — Virginia Tiemann, 75, passed away at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen on Thursday afternoon.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Patrick and Mabel Gilstrap and her husband Julius Tiemann, Jr. She is survived by one daughter Cynthia "Wayne" Norman of Harlingen; one sister Patsy Haynes of Dallas; two grandchildren Shelley "Dana" Collins of Austin and Stacey Cannon "Michael" of Houston; two great grandchildren Kelsey and Tori Collins of Austin; also numerous nieces.
Visitation will be today (Sunday) from 2 to 5 at Henry Thomae Funeral Home Chapel in San Benito. Graveside services will be held on Monday January 31, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Cenizo Hills Cemetery in Mathis Texas.

Alicia Martha Ayala
PRIMERA — Alicia Martha Ayala, 37, went to be with the Lord on Saturday morning at Valley Baptist Medical Center. She was born and raised in Powell, Wyoming but had lived in Primera for the past 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Antonio Ayala Sr. Survivors include her children: Antonio Martin Ayala Jr., Andrea Lee Ayala and Manuel Jose Ayala all of Primera. Her parents: Manuel and Irma Lopez of Powell, Wyoming and Her In Laws: Jose and Isaac Ayala of Primera.
Funeral mass is set for Tuesday at 10a.m. with church to be announced. Burial will follow to Restlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in the name of the Ayala family.
