DAVID WOOD

David C. Wood, 59, of Texarkana,  Texas, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, in a local hospital.

Mr. Wood was born Aug. 13, 1944, in Texarkana. He was a member of First Baptist Church, downtown.

Survivors include one brother, Robert Wood of Bossier City, La.; two nieces, Lori Wood and Laura Wood; and one nephew, Robert Wood Jr.

Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday in Hillcrest Memorial Park with Tommy Green officiating. Burial will be under direction of East Funeral Home, downtown.

MARJORIE M. RICKRODE
Marjorie Marie Rickrode, 72, of Texarkana,  Texas, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, at her home.

Mrs. Rickrode was born Nov. 7, 1931, in Texarkana. She was former manager of Hillside Village Apartments and Olen Mills Studios and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald F. Rickrode.

Survivors include two daughters and one son - in - law, Patty Sue Morton of Fulton,  Texas, and Pam and Eddie Dale McWilliams of Cabot, Ark.; one sister and brother - in - law, Earlyne and Gerald Haire of Texarkana; four grandchildren; and five great - grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Rev. Cranford Graves officiating. Burial will be under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.

MARY SMITH
Mary Margaret "Peggy" Smith, 85, of Texarkana,  Texas, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003, at her home.

Mrs. Smith was born Oct. 21, 1918, in Cloverport, Ky. She was a former employee of National Bank of  Washington, member and former president and secretary of American Legion Auxiliary 25 - 58 and a Methodist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Laurie Leon Smith; and one grandson, Andrew Kent Smith.

Survivors include one daughter, Laurel Kay Massingale of Lothian, Md.; two sons and one daughter - in - law, Artie Lee and Barbara Smith and David Leslie Smith of South Daytona, Fla.; three sisters, Mary Frances Dinger of De Queen, Ark., Mary Kathryn  Jones of Waldron, Ark., and Patsy Ann Dunn of Roseville,  Calif.; three brothers, Raymond P. Miller of Coarsegold,  Calif., Perry J. Miller of Kingman, Ariz., and Lonnie D. Miller of Granite Bay,  Calif.; five grandchildren; four great - grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday in East Memorial Gardens. Burial will be under direction of East Funeral Home, Moores Lane.

KATHRYNE GRAY
NEW BOSTON,  Texas - Kathryne Mary Gray, 84, of New Boston died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, in a local nursing home.

Mrs. Gray was born March 30, 1919, in Red River County,  Texas. She was a secretary for Tapp Memorial United Methodist Church and First Baptist Church and a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur R. Gray, in 1993.

Survivors include one brother, Felix E. "Bud" Woodley of Hooks,  Texas; one sister, Nancy Leona Woodley Brem of DeKalb,  Texas; one niece and nephew - in - law, Judy and Bill O'Malley; two nephews, Mac Woodley and Pat Brem; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church with Drs. Ken Cox and Frank Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Ringwood Cemetery under direction of Bates - Rolf Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 506 S. McCoy Blvd., New Boston,  Texas, 75570.

ENNIS CASTEEL
ATLANTA,  Texas - Ennis Oliver "Jack" Casteel, 83, of Omaha,  Texas, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, in Mount Pleasant,  Texas.

Mr. Casteel was born Dec. 4, 1919, in Marietta,  Texas. He was a member of Floyd Valley Baptist Church.

Survivors include three nieces, Virginia Neal Middlebrooks of Fort Worth,  Texas, and Sheryl Casteel Baltrip and Gia Casteel Brown of Oakland,  Calif.

Services will be noon Saturday at Floyd Valley Baptist Church with the Rev. W.R. Collins officiating. Burial will be in Floyd Valley Cemetery under direction of Coleman - Atlanta Funeral Home.

RUFUS SMITH
Rufus Smith Jr., 56, of Naples,  Texas, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at his home.

Mr. Smith was born Jan. 3, 1947, in Foreman, Ark. He was a butcher at Thom Thumb and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Jerome Williams of DeKalb,  Texas, and Jerry Dibrell of Hooks,  Texas; one daughter, Aletha Williams of DeKalb; two brothers, James Smith of Tyler,  Texas, and Steven Smith of Houston; four sisters, Erma Wright of DeKalb, Anna Smith of Austin, Santras Smith of DeKalb and Scottye Smith of Naples; six grandchildren; three great - grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Peters officiating. Burial will be in DeKalb Cemetery under direction of Haynes Mortuary.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

ODESSIE MORIENE
ATLANTA,  Texas - Odessie Moriene, 97, of DeKalb,  Texas, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003, in a Texarkana hospital.

Mrs. Moriene was born Sept. 1, 1906, in DeKalb. She was a homemaker and a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Troy Moriene; one daughter, Nellie Ravern of Los Angeles; and one brother, Willie Jame Smith of DeKalb.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Beaver Dam Baptist Church with the Rev. Clifton Murray officiating. Burial will be in Beaver Dam Cemetery under direction of Coleman - Atlanta Funeral Home.

JEWELL LAUVENTZ
LINDEN,  Texas - Jewell L. Lauventz, 80, of Brenham,  Texas, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, in Brenham.

Arrangements are pending with Reeder - Davis - Schindler Funeral Home.

R.E. CHISOM
HUGHES SPRINGS,  Texas - R.E. Chisom, 86, of Lone Star,  Texas, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, in a Tyler,  Texas, hospital.

Mr. Chisom was born July 18, 1917, in Cass County,  Texas. He was retired from Lone Star Steel and a Methodist.

Survivors include three sons, Robert Chisom of Daingerfield,  Texas, Gerald Chisom of Lone Star and Richard Chisom of Texarkana; three daughters, Sue Montgomery of Lone Star, Letha Simmons of McKinney,  Texas, and Cathy Wright of Naples,  Texas; eight grandchildren; four great - grandchildren; and two great - great - grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Liberty United Methodist Church with the Rev. George M. Hancock officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery under direction of Reeder - Davis Funeral Home.

EULA TERRAL
NEW BOSTON,  Texas - Eula Margene Terral, 83, of New Boston died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, in a Texarkana hospital.

Miss Terral was born Oct. 23, 1920, in Bowie County,  Texas. She was a child care worker and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter - day Saints.

Survivors include two brothers, Wade Terral of DeKalb,  Texas, and Travis Terral of Texarkana; and one sister, Thelma Thompson of Malta,  Texas.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Bates - Rolf Funeral Home Chapel with Elders Paul Lindsey and Skip Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Old Salem Cemetery.

ROGER WILLIAMS
HUGHES SPRINGS,  Texas - Roger Claude Williams, 68, of Daingerfield,  Texas, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, in a Pittsburg,  Texas, hospital.

Mr. Williams was born Dec. 3, 1934, in Marion County,  Texas. He was a brick layer and member of Warlock United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son, Roger Christopher Williams Jr. of Los Angeles; one brother, Willie Stanton of Dallas; three sisters, Easter McDonald of Tyler,  Texas, Gloria Ford of Marshall,  Texas, and Ophelia Stanton of Hughes Springs; one aunt, Carephaine Armstrong of Marion County; one uncle, Marion Berry of Marion County; one namesake, Roger  Jackson of Dallas; three grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Mims Chapel Cemetery under direction of Reeder - Davis Funeral Home.

EUGENE HOUSE III
Eugene House III, 51, of New Boston,  Texas, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, in a local hospital.

Arrangements are pending with Haynes Mortuary.
