MARTHA MOUSER

NEW BOSTON,  Texas - Martha Kate Mouser, 81, of New Boston, died Saturday, March 20, 2004, in a Texarkana hospital.

Mrs. Mouser was born Oct. 12, 1922, in Lincoln, Ark. She was a homemaker and a member of New Boston First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Mouser.

Survivors include two sons, Jackie Laney of New Boston and Jodie Laney of DeKalb,  Texas; two sisters, Mary Green and Evelyn Williams of Kilgore,  Texas; six grandchildren, Joanie Foster, Kelly Marx, Michael Laney, DeAnna Crayton, David Laney and Darla Dike; 14 great - grandchildren; and three stepgreat - grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Read Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Ken Cox officiating. Burial will be under direction of Bates - Rolf Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to New Boston First Baptist Church or DeKalb First Baptist Church.

MYRTLE DOLLARHIDE

DEKALB,  Texas - Myrtle Emma Reed Dollarhide, 81, of Malakoff,  Texas, died Saturday, March 20, 2004, in an Athens,  Texas, nursing home.

Mrs. Dollarhide was born Jan. 2, 1923, in Bowie County,  Texas. She was retired from Gulf Cone/Sweetheart Cup Co. and a member of Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Dollarhide in 1996.

Survivors include four daughters and three sons - in - law, Brenda Strickland and Doris and Ray Lantrip of Log Cabin,  Texas, Sandie and Jack Pryor of Farmersville,  Texas, and Rosemary and Robert Mullins of Dallas; two sisters, Bobbie Raney of DeKalb and Dorothy Hinch of Longview,  Texas; nine grandchildren; 10 great - grandchildren; and one great - great - grandchild.

Services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Bates - Rolf Funeral Home Chapel with Billy Blakeney and David Boren officiating. Burial will be in Hubbard Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

REX ROACH

NAPLES,  Texas - Rex Leon Roach, of Garland,  Texas, died Sunday, March 21, 2004, in Garland.

Arrangements are pending with Alexander Funeral Home.

A.D. FIELDS

MOUNT PLEASANT,  Texas - A.D. Fields, 63, of Dallas, died Thursday, March 18, 2004, in a Dallas hospital.

Mr. Fields was born May 29, 1940, in Mount Pleasant.

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Cuba Fields of Dallas; five daughters, Theresa King of Fort Worth,  Texas, Shun Smith and Earlene Cuba of Dallas and Sheila Police and Sonya Bryson of Mount Pleasant; two sons, John  Johnson and Lewis Wright of Mount Pleasant; five brothers, Edwin J. Fields, Lawrence Charles Fields and J.W. Fields of Dallas, and Jessie Fields and Jeff Fields of Mount Pleasant; five sisters, Essie Askew, Mary Smith, Freddie Thompson and Annie M. Todd of Mount Pleasant and Peggy Gholston of Dallas; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Gilmore Baptist Church with the Rev. L.C. Bell Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Cortznes Cemetery under direction of Tumey Mortuary.

The body may be viewed 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

WILLIE SEARCY

MOUNT PLEASANT,  Texas - Willie Earl Searcy, of Mount Pleasant, died Saturday, March 20, 2004, in a Tyler,  Texas, hospital.

Arrangements are pending with Tumey Mortuary.

CECILLA PINKERTON

Cecilla Henson Pinkerton, 95, of Texarkana,  Texas, died Tuesday, March 16, 2004, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Pinkerton was born Feb. 1, 1909, in Perryville,  Texas. She was a retired schoolteacher, a church organist, a member of Williams Memorial United Methodist Church, Texarkana Classroom Teachers,  Texas State Teacher's Association, National Education Association, American Association of University Women, National Congress of Parents and Teachers, National Retired Teachers Association, Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Colonel John West Colonial Dames XVII Century and Daughters of the Republic of  Texas, former vice - president and president of the Alpha Pi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma and former secretary of the Bowie County Unit of  Texas State Teachers Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Otto Pinkerton, in April 1998.

Survivors include one sister, Virginia Henson Scheffelin of Barksdale,  Texas; three nieces, Judy  Taylor of Barksdale, Karen Scheffelin of Austin and Margaret Stuart of Texarkana; one nephew, Michael Scheffelin of Austin; one great - niece and - nephew - in - law, Anita and Truman Arnold of Texarkana; two great - great - nieces, Stephanie Arnold and Reneé Clem of Texarkana; and one great - great - nephew, Greg Arnold of Texarkana.

Services will be 3 p.m. today at Williams Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Barfield officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital, 2600 St. Michael Drive, Texarkana,  Texas, 75503.

PAUL RANKIN JR.

Paul Rankin Jr., 64, of Texarkana,  Texas, died Monday, March 15, 2004, in a local hospital.

Mr. Rankin was born Nov. 11, 1939, in Canfield, Ark. He was a veteran of the  Vietnam War.

Survivors include one son, Sean Rankin of Los Angeles; two brothers, Eugene Evans of Saginaw, Mich., and Leathus Haygood of Chicago; one grandson, Maurice Rankin of San Diego; one special cousin, Mayme Curry Wade of Texarkana; his fiancé, Yavon M. Davis of Texarkana; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Haynes Mortuary Thomas E. Haynes Memorial Chapel with the Rev. James S. Grant officiating. Burial will be in McKamie Cemetery, McKamie, Ark.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

CHARLENE WRIGHT

Charlene Wright, 80, of Hooks,  Texas, died Sunday, March 14, 2004, at her home.

Mrs. Wright was born Sept. 8, 1923, in Texarkana,  Texas. She was a member and usher of Red Bank Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons, Tommy Brown of Minneapolis, Sam Wright of DeKalb,  Texas, Preston Wright of Texarkana and Charles Wright of Allen,  Texas; four daughters, Jerlene Riley, Lillie Wright and Gwen Faulks of Hooks and Merlene Lindley of Texarkana; 33 grandchildren; 48 great - grandchildren; and one great - great - grandchild.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Red Bank Baptist Church, Hooks, with the Rev. Gaylon Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Red Bank Cemetery under direction of Haynes Mortuary.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

CHARLES CHILES

Charles Clifford Chiles, 56, of Texarkana,  Texas, died Saturday, March 13, 2004, in a local hospital.

Mr. Chiles was born Aug. 16, 1947, in Texarkana. He was an employee of the U.S. Department of Commerce, a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, B.C. Green Male Chorus and Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class and an Army veteran.

Survivors include his parents, Faye H. King and Charles J. and Mary Chiles of Texarkana; two brothers, Michael Chiles of Dallas and Ronald Hayden of Texarkana; one aunt, Edna Anderson of Ogden, Utah; one niece, Rhonda Sherman of Texarkana; two great - nieces, Whittney Sherman and Brittney Sherman of Texarkana; and one great - nephew, Malik Sherman of Texarkana.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. T.J. Roberson officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park under direction of Richardson Hill Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

AARON SMITH

Aaron Smith, 66, of Texarkana,  Texas, died Thursday, March 18, 2004, in a local nursing home.

Arrangements are pending with Richardson Hill Funeral Home.

BESSIE FRANKLIN

Bessie Mae Riles - Franklin, 54, of Los Angeles died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, in a West Los Angeles,  Calif., hospital.

Mrs. Franklin was born July 1, 1949, in Texarkana, Ark. She was a former employee of Core - Mark International and a member of Southern Missionary Baptist Church, Los Angeles, where she was a member of the usher board.

Survivors include her husband, Charlie Franklin Sr. of Los Angeles; two children, Dwanna Franklin and Charlie Franklin Jr. of Los Angeles; five brothers, Bobby Riles, Sam Riles, Samuel Riles and Mack Charles Riles of Texarkana and Eddie Riles of Belton,  Texas; three sisters, Virdia Jackson, Mattie Thomas and Ruthie Riles of Texarkana; one grandson; and a number of other relatives.

Closed casket services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Reid officiating. Burial will be in Nash Cemetery, Nash,  Texas, under direction of Lyles Funeral Home.

The body may be viewed 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.

ALBERT MARTIN SR.

ATLANTA,  Texas - Albert Martin Sr., 79, of Texarkana,  Texas, died Friday, March 12, 2004, in a local hospital.

Mr. Martin was born April 9, 1924, in Douglassville,  Texas. He was the pastor of Eylau First Baptist Church.

Survivors include seven sons, Albert Martin Jr., Willie A Martin, Edward Martin, Alvis Martin, Alrove Martin, Algie W. Martin and Anthony R. Martin; and two daughters, Brenda Martin  Johnson and Alzora Martin Birge.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Gumsprings CME Church with Elder C.S. Slade officiating. Burial will be in Gumsprings Cemetery under direction of Coleman - Atlanta Funeral Home.

Wake will be 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

MARTHA HERRING

BROKEN BOW, Okla. - Martha Herring, 99, of Broken Bow died Tuesday, March 16, 2004, in Broken Bow.

Mrs. Herring was born Feb. 15, 1905, in the  Oklahoma Territory. She was a homemaker and a member of Broken Bow First Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen William Herring, in 1974.

Survivors include three sons, Tony Herring of Port Arthur,  Texas, Fairland Herring of Broken Arrow, Okla., and James Herring of Mesquite,  Texas; seven daughters, Mary Echols of Nashville, Ark., Venoy Snowden of Broken Bow, Regena Filak of Sulphur Springs,  Texas, Winona Spatz of Hollister, Mo., Joyce Van Der Beek and Norma Ver Helst of Pella, Iowa, and Brenda Held of Lowell, Ark.; one sister, Ida Mantooth of Walla Walla, Wash.; 29 grandchildren; 49 great - grandchildren; nine great - great - grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at First Assembly of God with Bernard Escalante and Fairland Herring officiating. Burial will be in Hochatown Cemetery under direction of Norwood - Coffey - Leonard Funeral Home.

POLLY WALLACE

HUGHES SPRINGS,  Texas - Polly Wallace, 64, of Hughes Springs died Thursday, March 18, 2004, in a Mount Pleasant,  Texas, hospital.

Arrangements are pending with Reeder - Davis Funeral Home.

LUDIE NIX

IDABEL, Okla. - Ludie Nix, 92, of Idabel died Wednesday, March 17, 2004, in Idabel.

Mrs. Nix was born April 10, 1911, in Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by one son, Carol Dean Nix.

Survivors include her husband, Drew Nix of Idabel; one daughter and son - in - law, Eugenia "Nickie" and Jim Green of Texarkana; five grandchildren, John Anthony and Ann Zulch of Fort Smith, Ark., and Jason and Jana Green and Jamie Green of Texarkana; two great - grandchildren, Ashlee Zulch and Jonathan Green; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Norwood - Coffey - Leonard Funeral Home Chapel with Cletus Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in Rock Hill Cemetery, Honeygrove community.

SHARON GOLSTON

Sharon Golston, 34, of Texarkana,  Texas, died Thursday, March 11, 2004, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Golston was born Feb. 13, 1970, in Texarkana. She was a member of Power of God Apostolic Church.

Survivors include one brother, Frankie D. Golston of Texarkana; and three sisters, Rosie Richie, Erica Young and Cetta Golston of Texarkana.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Lyles Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Dr. T.D. Fulce officiating. Burial will be in Cleveland Cemetery.

Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
