Mr. David "Frog" Haney, age 31 of Kerrville, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2003 at a local hospital. He was born to Robert Lee Haney and Ruby Keith in San Antonio on February 17, 1972.

David like hunting and fishing and enjoyed spending time with his children. He was a member of the Mason Full Gospel church.

He is survived by his mother, Kay Wagner of Kerrville; father, Preston Wagner & companion, Cordella Rosenberg of Kerrville; biological father, Robert Lee Haney; adopted grandmother, Faith Hudnut; daughters, Atlanta Dawn Haney of Brady and  Taylor Renee Haney of Kerrville; son, Hunter Haney of Brady; sister, Tiara Haney of Lodi, CA; brothers, Robert H. Haney and wife, Cathy of Kerrville, Raymond Haney and Aron Haney, both of Lodi, CA; special nephew, R.J. Haney and special nieces, Amber Nicole Haney and Britney Cheyenne Haney.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Linley Keith, Ila Belle Bush Keith, Major Robert H. Haney, Ret. US Air Force, and Glennis Haney and one uncle, James M. Keith (Uncle Sharkey).

A visitation will be held Monday, October, 6, 2003 from 6-8 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the 720 Club or the Kerrville State Hospital.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of GRIMES FUNERAL CHAPELS of Kerrville.

Carl W. Harbison
Born in Wills Point, TX on December 15, 1923
Departed on July 11, 2003 and resided in Kerrville, TX.

Carl passed from this life on July 11, 2003. Carl was beloved husband, father and friend. Born in Wills Point,  Texas, December 15,1 923 to Lee Roy and Lessie Burch Harbison. Carl was the eldest of six children.

Having been raised on a farm, he was active in FFA and other activities related to farming during his school years. He received several awards for his live stock at the Rio Grande Livestock Exhibitions, having the Grand Champion Hereford Bull during his high school. Carl attended elementary school in Wills Point,  Texas and high school in Ed Couch, Elsa,  Texas, graduating in 1941.

He and Kareene Gary were united in marriage on June 15, 1943. They celebrated sixty years of marriage on June 15th of this year. Carl served in the United States Army under General George Patton during World War II. He served his country in Europe, The Philippines and was in the occupation forces in Japan.

Following his release from the Army, Carl served as a representative for Caterpillar Industrial and Case Industrial Companies. He served as an elder in the Church of Christ in Weslaco,  Texas for 25 years. He and Kareene also served as house parents at Sunny Glen Children’ Home in San Benito,  Texas. Carl was chairman of the Board for the Christian Heritage School in Alamo,  Texas. He was chairman of the Rio Grande Beef Syndicate, serving this organization 25 years.

Following his retirement from the implement companies, he and Kareene traveled with the Sojourners, a group of retired Christians affiliated with the Church of Christ that travel where they are requested to assist congregations with their local work.

Survivors are: wife, Kareene of Kerrville; sons, Gary & wife, Lynn of Weslaco,  Texas; Steven & wife Denice of Oakhurst, California; three brothers, Lee Roy of Beeville, TX, Glen of Longview,  Texas and Donald Ray of Bishop, TX and two sisters, Billie Willis of Kerrville and Betty Jean Pate of Odessa, TX; seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren and a host of friends in Kerrville and the Rio Grande Valley.

Funeral services for Carl will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Kerrville Church of Christ. Interment at Carl’s request will be at Turtle Creek Cemetery, Kerrville,  Texas because of the beauty and peacefulness of the location. There will be a family visitation on Monday, July 14, 2003 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville. Pallbearers will be Les Hitchcock, Christopher Rich, David Harbison, Heath Harbison, Tony Schutter and Kyle Harbison.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances be made to the Kerrville Church of Chris Building Fund, The National Kidney Foundation or the Sunny Glen Children’s Home in San Benito,  Texas.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of GRIMES FUNERAL CHAPELS of Kerrville.

Robert Milton Harle
Born in San Antonio, TX on October 21, 1918

Services for Mr. Robert Harle, age 84 of Center Point, who passed away Thursday, May 22, 2003 at a Kerrville care center will be held, Saturday, May 24, 2003, 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of GRIMES FUNERAL CHAPELS of Kerrville.

Clyde Harmon
Born in Odem, TX on January 20, 1932
Departed on July 15, 2004, and resided in Ingram, TX

Mr. Clyde Harmon, Age 72, of Ingram,  Texas, died on Friday, July 16, 2004, in a San Antonio hospital. Mr. Harmon, a resident of Ingram for 25 years and a prior resident of Brady, was born on January 20, 1932, in Odem,  Texas, to Floyd Harmon and Della Phillips Harmon.
He married Lola Beatrice Rolan Gage on June 13, 1980, in Mason,  Texas. She preceded him in death on December 6, 1995. He was a heavy equipment operator and also in pest control service. Clyde served his country during the Korean War as a Corporal in the United States Army. He enjoyed living, loved fishing and hunting.

Survivors, Mother, Della Patton of Graham; Daughters, Mary Harmon and Connie Harmon, both of Abilene, Son, Billy Harmon and wife Deborah of Abilene; Step-daughters, Linda Stanley and husband Mike of Houston, Karen Dunaway of Giddings, Sharla Voulgaris and Holly Miears, both of Ingram; Step-sons, Tommy Gage of Ingram, Michael Gage and wife Denise of Medina and Bryant Gage and wife Teresa of Ingram; Sisters, Sue Carter, Mary Whise, Della Hill, Faye McDonald; Brothers, Ford Harmon, Freddy Harmon; 23 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Melissa Dyanne Feller and brother, Joe Harmon.

The family will receive friends at the Grimes Funeral Chapels on Monday, July 19, 2004, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Funeral services, 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 20, 2004, Grimes Funeral Chapels, with Bryant Gage, officiating. Interment to follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville.

Julia Elizabeth Harris
Born in Germantown, PA on February 15, 1919
Departed on May 31, 2003 and resided in Kerrville, TX.

Mrs. Julia Elizabeth Harris, age 84 of Kerrville, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2003 at her residence. She was born February 15, 1919 in Germantown, PA to Robert L. And Susan Wade Vessie. She married Kenneth F. Harris in Nutley, NJ on February 18, 1939.

Julia was a homemaker and volunteered at Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital, Meals on Wheels and Dietert Claim. She was a member of St. Michael’s & All Angels Church in Kerrville.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth F. Harris of Kerrville; two daughters, Susan Lewis of McKinney, TX and Nancy Harris of Kerrville; two sisters, Ruth Toto and Betty Hacker, both of New Jersey; five grandchildren, Robert B. McClintock, Pamela Ray, Christopher McClintock, Kelley Lane and Heather McClintock; five great grandchildren, Ryan, Robby, Taylor, Christopher, Jr., and Madeline.

A memorial service will be held, Sunday, June 8, 2003, 2:00 p.m. at St. Michael’s & All Angels Church with Father Ben Holland officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Michael’s & All Angels Church, Peterson Hospice of Kerrville or to a charity of one’s choice.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of GRIMES FUNERAL CHAPELS of Kerrville.

Sarah E. Harrison
Born in Monroeville, AL on October 17, 1920
Departed on February 12, 2004, and resided in Kerrville, TX

Mrs. Sarah E. Harrison, age 83 of Kerrville, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2004 in a local nursing center. She was born October 17, 1920 in Monroeville, Alabama.

Mrs. Harrison was an executive secretary for a chemical research company in Austin, TX and a fifty year resident of Austin. She spent her last eight years in Kerrville, TX where she volunteered at the Riverside Nature Center, The Senior Citizens Center and the First Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Kerrville Trail Blazers, the Dietert Claim Clowns and the First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include son, James T. Harrison, Jr., and wife, Betty of Tallahassee, FL; sister, Mrs. A.J. Blethen of Towaco, NJ and two grandchildren, Courtney Harrison of Swindon, England and J.T. Harrison, III, of Atlanta, GA.

A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Kerrville on Sunday, February 15, 2004, 3:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Rob Lohmeyer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sid Peterson Hospice, 1121 Broadway, Kerrville, TX 78028.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to GRIMES FUNERAL CHAPELS of Kerrville.

William H. Harwood
Born in San Antonio, TX on September 14, 1922
Departed on September 12, 2003 and resided in Medina, TX.

Dr. William H. Harwood passed away at his residence Friday night, 26 hours before his 81st birthday. Born September 14, 1922 to Bonnie Lea Southern of Stockdale, TX, and Thomas Coke Hewell of Nixon, TX. He was raised by his adoptive parents, William H. Harwood and Cora B. Harwood, of San Antonio, TX.

He married Anna Mae Flowers on January 9, 1943, before going to Europe as a P47 Fighter Pilot for the Army Air Corps. Upon returning, he obtained his B.S. at Trinity University and his Master’s and Ph.D. at the University of  Texas at Austin in Physical Chemistry.

Starting in 1951 he worked as a Research Chemist for Continental Oil Company in Ponca City, OK. Then, in 1969 he began teaching at Cameron University in Lawton, OK, as a Professor of Chemistry.

Upon retiring in December 1987, he moved with his wife, Anna, to his wife’s family ranch, near Medina, TX.

He is survived by his wife, Anna, of Medina, TX, his daughter Linda Stewart, of San Antonio, TX, and her three children, Lloyd, Robert, and Anna; his daughter, Barbara Fabrick, and her three children, Joanne, Corinne, and Daniel; his son, William H. Harwood, of Cushing, OK, and his wife, Sherry, and their three children, Jackie, Christa, and Peggy; and his daughter, Carol Cadle and her husband, Jeff, of Ingram, TX. The four great-grandchildren are Alexa Teel, Brianna and Brayden Young, and Owen Osborn.

He is also survived by his half-brother, Alvin Hewell and his wife, Doris, of Seguin, TX. He was preceded in death by two half-brothers, Thomas C. Hewell and Bird Hewell, both of Nixon, TX.

Services will be held at a later date.

Roberta Hausmann
Born in Odessa, TX on February 5, 1911
Departed on May 27, 2004, and resided in San Antonio, TX

Roberta Etta Martin Hausmann was born February 15, 1911, to Mr. Edwin S. Martin and Mrs. Alice Roberta Cowles Martin on the Martin Ranch in Odessa,  Texas. She attended school in Odessa,  Texas, until her family moved to the Parks Ranch near Goliad,  Texas, in 1925. Roberta graduated from Goliad High School in 1928, going on to  Texas Woman’s University in Denton where she got her BS in Home Economics. Her first teaching position was at the Ricon Bend School on the ranch. Later she taught homemaking in the high school in Yancey,  Texas.
She was supervisor for the Farm Security Administration until 1947 when she married Milton Hausmann also of Goliad. Later that year they moved to Port Lavaca where she taught elementary school and worked with the Band Booster organization. In 1952 Milton and Roberta started Port Music Center, a music store which they owned and operated until 1964. In 1978 they moved to the hill country outside Tarpley,  Texas. There they established the "Paisano’s Nest", a Boy Scout survival testing area on their property.

Roberta is a member of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Bandera,  Texas. In 1990 they moved to their present home in San Antonio,  Texas. On their anniversary on May 28, Roberta and Milton will be married 57 years.

Roberta is survived by her husband Milton Hausmann; her son Gene Hausmann; daughter-in-law Renee Hausmann; grandsons Rex and Erik Hausmann; her brother Edwin S Martin, Jr.; and her "honorary step children" Jan M. Hausmann and Barbara Faules and their families.

Roberta has been a blessing to those around her for her 93 plus years. Her smiley shrugs will be dearly missed by all.

Funeral services, 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2004, St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, Bandera,  Texas, with Father Rick Dunham, officiating. Interment , Episcopal Cemetery.

Gladys Ruth Hayes
Born in Guffey, TX on November 8, 1913
Departed on October 28, 2003, and resided in Kerrville, TX.

Gladys Ruth Hayes, daughter of the late Martin L. Hayes and Eva J. "Josie" Halbert Hayes, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2003 in a Kerrville hospital. Miss Hayes was born November 8, 1913, at Guffey, better known as Spindletop,  Texas,  Jefferson County. She resided there until the age of 8 when her family moved to North  Louisiana. She was a graduate of Grand Bayou,  Louisiana High School and attended State Narmal College for one semester at Natchitoches,  Louisiana. After graduating from Narton Business College, Shreveport,  Louisiana, she was employed as Bookkeeper-Secretary at Winnsboro Sanitarium, Inc., Winnsboro,  Louisiana. She also did the bookkeeping for Dr. Ralph E. King who owned several large farms. Miss Hayes intended to stay in Winnsboro for six months, but stayed for forty years.

In 1977 she moved to New Iberia,  Louisiana, and was a member of the First Baptist Church there.

In 1980 she moved to Crystal Beach,  Texas, and resided there until 1991 when she came to Kerrville to make her home.

Miss Hayes was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul of Crystal Beach and Robert of New Iberia, Lousiana, and one sister, June Swanzy of Houston,  Texas.

Miss Hayes is survived by one brother, Martin R. Hays of Kerrville; two nieces, three nephews, eight great nieces, one great nephew, four great, great nieces and four great great nephews.

Graveside services will be held in the Garden of Memories Cemetery on Friday, October 31, 2003, 10:00 a.m. with Charles Gray officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dietert Senior Center, 617  Jefferson, Kerrville, TX 78028.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to GRIMES FUNERAL CHAPELS of Kerrville.
