McDavid
March 29, 2004
Funeral services for Buddy Carlton McDavid, 62, were held Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska, with Charlie Watts officiating. Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska. military honors were provided by the VFW Post 8568 Honor Guard.
He was born November 12, 1941 in Gainesville, Florida, the son of Alvers Luther McDavid and Dorothy Mae Reagan McDavid, both of whom preceded him in death. Mr. McDavid served in the Army during the Vietnam era, having attained the rank of SSG (P). He enlisted on January 11, 1966 and was discharged on December 4, 1969.
Mr. McDavid died Thursday, March 18, at his residence in Onalaska.
Survivors include his wife, Sabine McDavid; daughter, Sonja Perko of Onalaska; brothers, Alvers McDavid Jr. of Onalaska, Gene McDavid and Charles McDavid, both of Clewiston, Florida, Wayne McDavid of Canto, Florida and Calvin McDavid of Crystal River, Florida; sisters, Helen Black of Brooksville, Florida and Sylvia Richardson of Gulfport, Mississippi; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Cochran Funeral Home, Onalaska, was in charge of arrangements.

Prentice
March 29, 2004
Funeral services for Stanton V. Prentice, 72, were held Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at the Prentice residence in Livingston.
He was born January 12, 1932 in San Benito, the son of Stanton X and Margaret Elizabeth Myrick Prentice.
Mr. Prentice died Saturday, March 20, at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley Prentice; and son, Stanton L. Prentice.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Michael S. and Joyce Prentice of Weatherford, Patrick J. Prentice of Livingston and Darren G. and Melissa Prentice of Houston; daughter and son-in-law, Glenna L. and Frank Ites of Houston; grandchildren, Stan Ites and Sandra, Beth Reddicks and Charlie, J.D. and Jacque Ites, Tommy Prentice, Stan and Melissa Prentice, David Prentice, Katie Prentice, PJ Prentice, Colt Prentice, Austin Prentice, Kristopher Maxwell, Stephen Maxwell, Daniel Prentice, Sasha Prentice and Brittany Prentice; and nine great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ducks Unlimited.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Simmons
March 29, 2004
Funeral services for Mary Beth (Cox) Simmons, 78, of Dayton, were held Thursday, March 25, 2004, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton, with Rev. Wayne Hardin officiating. Burial followed in the Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton.
She was a native of Timpson, lived in Dayton for the last 44 years, previously a lifetime resident of the Livingston area and a member of the Grace Community Baptist Church in Dayton. She was the former owner/operator with her husband of Home Farm Propane in Dayton for 25 years, A&A Air Conditioning and the Wentworth Drug Store. She was also a former employee of the Liberty County Federal Savings and Loan and a former Boy Scout den mother.
Mrs. Simmons died Monday, March 22, 2004, in San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, M.J. Simmons of Dayton; son, John Simmons and his wife, Susan, of Dayton; daughters, Margaret Simmons and Rosemary Brothers and husband, W.T., all of Dayton; brothers, Del Cox and his wife, Jimmie, of Beaumont, Bill Cox and his wife, Sarah, and Bobby Cox Sr. and his wife, Shirley, all of Livingston; brother-in-law, Jack McNulty of Livingston; sister-in-law, Margaret Cox of Manville,  Louisiana; and grandchildren, Adam Saffel, Nicholas Saffel, Lindsay Lee and her husband, Chris, Phillip Saffel, Johnathan Davis, M.J. Brothers, Katherine Brothers and Anna Brothers.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Grace Community Baptist Church Building Fund.
Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton, was in charge of arrangements.

Singleton
March 29, 2004
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 23, 2004 for Robert Wayne Singleton, 55, from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, wit the Rev. Robert Smith officiating. Burial followed in Bluewater Cemetery. military honors were provided by the VFW Post 8568 Honor Guard.
He was born May 15, 1948 in East Baton Rouge Parish,  Louisiana, the son of Shelton and Alice Lindsey Singleton.
Mr. Singleton died Thursday, March 18, in Barberton Citizens Hospital in Barberton, Ohio.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Singleton; mother, Alice Singleton of Baton Rouge,  Louisiana; daughter, Wendy Fields of Ace; son, Travis Singleton of Ace; daughter and son-in-law, Keri and Shelby Cedotal of Clarksville; brother, Brian Singleton of Baton Rouge,  Louisiana; brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Diane Singleton of Baton Rouge,  Louisiana; sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Richard Elgin of Baton Rouge,  Louisiana and Sandra and Dennis Forsgren; granddaughters, Brooklyn Lea Singleton and Alice Shian Cedotal, both of Clarksville and Desirae Rochelle Fields of Ace; grandsons, Logan Dakota Cedotal of Clarksville and Mark Layne Fields of Ace; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Brian Singleton, Dale Singleton, Travis Singleton, Joseph Cole, Joseph Levengood and Charles Scott.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Waltmon
March 29, 2004
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel for Rodney Wayne Waltmon, 29. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery.
He was born March 12, 1975 in Houston, the son of Donald W. and Barbara Mayeaux Waltmon.
Mr. Waltmon died Thursday, March 18, in Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.
Survivors include his parents, Donald W. and Barbara Mayeaux Waltmon; daughters, Alyssa Waltmon of Huntsville, Shelby Waltmon and Kelsey Waltmon, both of Lufkin; brothers, Wade  White of Dickinson and Larry  White of Crystal Beach; and sister, Tina King of LaPlace,  Louisiana.
Pallbearers were Johnathan  White, Vernon  White, David Phillips, J.D. Casee, Jim Rodgers and Steve Stoker. Honorary pallbearer was Tony Mattis.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Williams
March 29, 2004
Funeral services for Clarence 'Dick' (Red) Williams, 88, of Moss Hill, were held Monday, March 22, 2004, at New Life Assembly of God Church, with the Revs. Bill Campbell, Bobby Morgan and Robert Williams officiating. Interment followed in the Oil Field Cemetery in Saratoga.
He was born December 10, 1915 in Merryville,  Louisiana, the son of Alexander A. Williams and Louise Brown. He had been a resident of Moss Hill since 1981 where he worked as an oil field mechanic. In his younger years, he worked for Civilian Conservation Corps.
He loved the Lord and was very involved in his church. He also loved to read scripture and other works about God. He could fix anything and loved to garden and grow vegetables. He also enjoyed learning trivia and miscellaneous facts.
Mr. Williams died on Thursday, March 18, 2004 in a Baytown Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Maye and Maybell; brothers, Floyd, Percy, Earnest, Coleman and Lamar and an infant sibling.
Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Mary Laird Williams of Moss Hill; sons, Charles Williams and wife, Lana, of Votaw, and Delbert 'Butch' Williams and wife, Carol, of Lebanon, Oregon; daughters, Shirley Wilmath of Hardin, Barbara Cunningham and husband, Guy 'Buster' of Liberty, Maybell Miller and husband, Kevin, of Australia and Marion McCormick and husband, John, of Tucson, Arizona; sister, Pearl Crider of San Antonio; 20 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Alexander
March 29, 2004
Graveside services for Andrew  Jackson Alexander Jr., 61, were conducted Saturday, March 20, 2004 at Old Peebles Cemetery in Livingston.
He was born February 20, 1943 in Houston, the son of Andrew  Jackson Alexander Sr. and Marsolete Robinson Alexander.
Mr. Alexander died Wednesday, March 17, in Memorial Medical Center, San Augustine. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sue Ann Kent; and daughter, Wendy Lee Alexander.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Alexander of Bellville; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Rachel Alexander of Plano and Daniel and Melanie Alexander of Georgetown; daughter, Molly Alexander of Houston; granddaughters, Julia Alexander, Lauren Alexander and Michelle Alexander; and grandson, Jack Ryan Alexander.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Barrier
March 29, 2004
Funeral services for Marilyn Jean Barrier, 72, of Hull, were held Thursday, March 18, 2004 at First United Methodist Church in Daisetta, with Dr. Gene Lovering officiating. Interment followed at Pedigo Cemetery in Town Bluff,  Texas.
She was born April 3, 1931 in Daisetta, the daughter of Elmer and Mabel R. Trahan Williams. She retired from Hull-Daisetta Independent School District where she was finance director. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Daisetta and Classic Dancers.
Mrs. Barrier died Monday, March 15, 2004, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Miller Barrier III; son, William David Barrier; and daughter, Pattijean Barrier.
Survivors include her three sons, Nathan Barrier IV and wife, Cindy, of Lorena,  Texas, Tim Barrier and wife, Mary, of Daisetta and John Barrier and wife, Dottie, of Hull; mother, Mabel Williams of Hull; sisters, Janet Hundley and husband, Sam, of Hull and Sharon Ferguson and husband, Elvis, of Mont Belvieu; brother, Danny William and wife, Paulette, of Hull; grandsons, Nathan M. 'Ned' Barrier V and wife, Dana, Justin A. Barrier, Joel D. Barrier and Christopher A. Barrier; granddaughters, Kathleen Leiskau and husband, James, Jenna M. Brett and husband, Kory, Jessica J. Barrier, Jennifer N. Barrier and Amanda K. Barrier; great-granddaughter, Macey Barrier; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Memorials may be made to the  Texas A&M Corp Cadets, 1400 TAMU, College Station,  Texas 77843-1400, and Hull-Daisetta Nelson Stovall Scholarship Fund, % J.C. Ladd, P.O. Box 208, Devers,  Texas 77538.

Courts
March 29, 2004
Funeral services for Sharon Kay Brown Courts, 52, of Kountze, were held Saturday, March 20, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. Broussard's Chapel in Kountze, with the Revs. Darrell Brown and Tyrone Rich. Interment followed at Old Hardin Cemetery.
A service celebrating the life of Sharon included "Amazing Grace:, "Serenaded By Angels" sung by Dorothy Brown and "Address Change Notification" sung by Lessie Hall.
She was born on February 17, 1952 in Kountze, the daughter of Johnny and Mary Brown. She was a native and life-long resident of Kountze and was known as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Sharon will be missed by all.
Mrs. Courts died on Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at her residence. She was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Brown.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Howard Courts of Kountze; son, Howard Courts Jr. and his wife, Renalyn, of Kountze; Mary Francis Brown of Saratoga; brothers, J.M. Brown, Johnny Warren Brown, Gearld Brown, Glenn Ray Brown, all of Saratoga, Rev. Darrell Brown of Liberty and Bearl Brown of Highlands; sisters, Barbara Martin, Brenda Bowler, Vickie York, and Linda Arrant, all of Saratoga, Ida Pierce of Baytown and Theresa Simmons of Liberty; and one granddaughter, RayLyn Courts.
Pallbearers were J.M. Brown, Johnny Brown, Billy Martin, Robert Fowler, Glenn Ray Brown and Bearl Brown.
Broussard's Mortuary, Kountze, was in charge of arrangements.

Rogers
March 29, 2004
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 20, 2004 at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska, for Waymon Oneal Rogers, 66, with Chaplain John Linton officiating.
He was born October 27, 1937 in Groveton, the son of Leon and Mary Pearl Cook Rogers, both of whom preceded him in death. Mr. Rogers died Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at his residence in Trinity.
Survivors include his daughter, Sheryl  White of Huntsville; sister, Tommie Ann  Johnson of Lenexa, Kansas; aunt, Tottie Cook; grandson, Waymon Stephens of Killeen; and former wife, Irene Rogers of Huntsville.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.
