Schiele
July 13, 2004
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 4, 2004, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, for Christine Schiele, 84, with the Rev. Dale Snell officiating. Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery, Onalaska.
She was born April 3, 1920 in Houston, Mississippi, the daughter of William Alfred Moore and Mary Frances Foster Moore. She died Friday, July 2 in Timberwood Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Schiele; sons, James Schiele, Robert Schiele and Darrel 'Bug' Schiele; and daughter, Carolyn Schiele Strawn.
Survivors include her sons, Gene Schiele of Onalaska, Paul Schiele of Onalaska, William Schiele of Thomas Schiele, Stanley Schiele, Randy Schiele of Onalaska and Charles Schiele; sister, Maudie Schiele of Lambert, Mississippi; 28 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Stolzenburg
July 13, 2004
Funeral services for Olive Mae Stolzenburg, 96, were held at 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 4, 2004, at Pace Funeral Home, with the Rev. Harold Isaacs officiating. Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 5, at Austin Memorial Park in Austin.
Mrs. Stolzenburg was born on April 10, 1908 in Meers, South Dakota, to parents Dix Raymond and Flora Kline Newton. She married Martin H. Stolzenburg on June 1, 1928 and he preceded her in death in 1958. She had been a resident of Livingston since 1999, moving from Round Rock. She was a member of Messiah Evangelical Luther Church in Austin.
She passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2004, in Timberwood Nursing Center. She was preceded in death by a brother also.
Survivors include four children, Reo Stolzenburg and wife, Rama, of Livingston, Gail Stolzenburg and wife, Elvia, of Houston, Barbara Marlow and husband, Jack, of North Platte, Nebraska and Dixie Bowen and husband, Charles, of Carrollton; 13 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials in lieu of flowers to Girls & Boys Town, c/o Fr. Val J. Peter, Boys Town Center, Boys Town, Nebraska 68010.
Pace Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Lilley
July 13, 2004
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 30, 2004, for Dorothy Louise Lilley, 79, of New Caney, at Pace Funeral Home, with the Rev. Greg Wallace officiating. Interment followed in Peebles Cemetery.
She was born November 19, 1924 in Daisetta, the daughter of Waddie and Mary Fivecoat Edgar. She had been a resident of New Caney for 36 years, moving from Houston. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in New Caney and a member of the Daughters of the Pioneers.
Mrs. Lilley died Sunday, June 27, 2004 in Kingwood. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Leroy Lilley Sr. on December 12, 1972. In addition to her husband, one brother and four sisters preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, James Lilley and Thomas Lilley Jr. and wife, Susan, all of New Caney; one grandson, Thomas Lilley III; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Pallbearers were Kenny Martin, Richard Martin, Larry Stanley, Larry Hayes, Tom Trahan and Ed Trahan. Honorary bearer was Robert C. Trahan.
Pace Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Loper
July 13, 2004
Funeral services for Michael Shane Loper, 26, were held Wednesday, June 30, 2004, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Chuck McLaurin and Bro. Tony Gariffo officiating. Burial followed in Peebles Cemetery.
He was born August 2, 1977 in Woodville, the son of Ronnie and Marianna Nettles Loper. Mr. Loper died Sunday, June 27, 2004.
Survivors include his wife, Charlene Loper of Livingston; father and mother, Ronnie Lynn Loper and Marianna Loper; daughter, Callie Loper of Livingston; son, Christian Gariffo of Livingston; sisters, Sharee Loper of Livingston and Shelly Henley of Fort Myers, Florida; grandmothers, Marie Fuller and Ida Nettles, both of Livingston; step-grandmother, Nelda Loper of Livingston; mother-in-law, Barbara Toney and Willie Benner of Livingston; father-in-law, Tony and Becky Gariffo of Hockley; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Howard Smith, Kevin Smith, Greg Munson, Keith Howard, Steven Loper and Chip Thiel. Honorary pallbearers were Cecil Snook, Steven Ray O'Bannon and Allen Carlisle.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Mays
July 13, 2004
A memorial service was held Thursday, July 1, at the First United Methodist Church in Onalaska for Lela Mae Polk Mays, 80.
The daughter of the late A. Preston Polk Sr. and Lela Popham Polk, she was born in Livingston on August 10, 1923. She died on Sunday, June 27, 2004 in Memorial Medical Center in Lufkin.
She graduated from Jacksonville High School, Lon Morris College and Baylor University and received her masters of education from the University of Houston. She retired from Spring Branch public schools after 32 years as a classroom teacher and counselor in junior and senior high schools.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Roy A. Polk; and sister-in-law, Eleanor Polk.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, E. Homer Mays; sons, Jerald Polk Mays of Houston and Rick R. Mays and wife, Judy, of Lufkin; grandson, Sr. A. Ryan J. Mays of San Diego, California; brother, Alton P. Polk Jr. and wife, Jessie; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 596, Onalaska,  Texas 77360.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Myers
July 13, 2004
Funeral services for Arthur Jerome Myers, 81, were held Thursday, July 1, 2004, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska, with Bro. Windle Kee officiating. Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery, Onalaska.
He was born June 11, 1923 in Chandler,  Oklahoma, the son of Carl John Myers and Bessie Arlena Hughes Myers, both of whom preceded him in death. Mr. Myers served in the U.S. Army during World War II, having attained the rank of staff sergeant.
Mr. Myers died in a traffic accident Monday, June 28, along with his wife, Leola.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Sherrill Myers of Topeka, Kansas; son, David Myers of Onalaska; sister and brother-in-law, Donnaleta and Herman Stein of Albuquerque, New Mexico; granddaughters, Carrie Jo Gernhauser of Plano and Susan Myers of Topeka, Kansas; grandsons, Nathan J. Myers of Apple Valley, Minnesota and Brad Myers of Edmond,  Oklahoma; and great-grandchildren, Johnny and Jake Gernhauser.
Pallbearers were Nathan Myers, Brad Myers, Susan Myers, Wesley Stewart, Joe  Taylor and David Taylor. Honorary pallbearers were George Robinson, John Stewart, Carl Kee, Carrie Jo Gernhauser and Rusty Jaines.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Honduras Children's Orphans Home c/o Onalaska Church of Christ, P.O. Box 1058, Onalaska,  Texas 77360.
Cochran Funeral Home, Onalaska, was in charge of arrangements.

Myers
July 13, 2004
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 1, 2004, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska, for Leola Lee Myers, 80, with Bro. Windle Kee officiating. Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery, Onalaska.
She was born February 22, 1924 in Muskogee,  Oklahoma, the daughter of Charlie and Lola Armenda Melson McFarland. Mrs. Myers died in a traffic accident, Monday, June 28, along with her husband, Arthur. She was preceded in death by her mother.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Sherrill Myers of Topeka, Kansas; son, David Myers of Onalaska; father, Charlie Linsey McFarland of Onalaska; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Sarah McFarland of Point Blank; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Windle Kee of Onalaska; granddaughters, Carrie Jo Gernhauser of Plano and Susan Myers of Topeka, Kansas; grandsons, Nathan J. Myers of Apple Valley, Minnesota and Brad Myers of Edmond,  Oklahoma; and great-grandsons, Johnny and Jake Gernhauser.
Pallbearers were Nathan Myers, Brad Myers, Susan Myers, Wesley Stewart, Joe  Taylor and David Taylor. Honorary pallbearers were George Robinson, John Stewart, Carl Kee, Carrie Jo Gernhauser and Rusty James.

Sawyer
July 13, 2004
Funeral services for Truman G. Sawyer, 68, of Livingston, were held Friday, July 2, 2004, at Pace Funeral Home.
He was born November 28, 1935 in Malone. He made his career in the United States Coast Guard and as a marine firefighter at the Port of Houston. He retired and moved to Livingston in 1995. He was known as a friend to all he met and never met a stranger.
Mr. Sawyer died Tuesday, June 29, 2004, at his residence in Livingston.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine; two children, a son, John Sawyer and wife, Rebecca, and their children, Gail, Stephen and Laurie, all of Livingston; a daughter, Kaye Horton and husband, Grady, and their son, Blake of Deer Park; Charlotte Sawyer, the mother of his children; and his mother, Lola W. Sawyer of Livingston; and a brother, Roy Sawyer of El Paso.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Sawyer's memory to the National Kidney Foundation.
Pace Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Sealy
July 13, 2004
Funeral services for Hardy Lee Sealy, 88, were held Monday, June 28, 2004, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Harold Isaacs officiating. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery.
He was born November 15, 1918 in Grimes County, the son of Pope Langly Sealy and Minnie Pearl Rogers Sealy, both of whom preceded him in death. Mr. Sealy was a 50-year Mason, a member of East Houston Lodge No. 1299 AF&AM and was a charter member of Beacon Bay Baptist Church.
Mr. Sealy died Saturday, June 26, in Timberwood Nursing Home in Livingston.
Survivors include his wife, Bootsie Sealy of Livingston; sons and daughters-in-law, Vernon and Sandra Sealy of Pinehurst and H.L. and Marlene Sealy of Wimberly; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Pat Murray of Huffman; sister, Ila Faye Kincaid of Porter; grandchildren, Gordon Sealy, Vinson Sealy, Veronica Rhodes, Bryan Sealy, Kelly Sealy, Debbie Morris, Sherry Davis, Lonny Logan, Steven Logan, Robyn Hatfield, Rusty Murray, Patrick Murray, Guy Murray and Edward Murray; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Gordon Sealy, Vinson Sealy, Bryan Sealy, Lonny Logan, Steven Logan and Edward Murray. Honorary pallbearers were Rusty Murray, Guy Murray and Patrick Murray.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Sumrall
July 13, 2004
Funeral services were held Monday, June 28, 2004, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel for James Sumrall, 69, with the Revs. William Tanton and Harold Isaacs officiating. Burial followed in Menard Chapel Cemetery.
He was born April 12, 1935 in Votaw, the son of Frank James Sumrall and Jessie Florence Ustick Sumrall, both of whom preceded him in death. Mr. Sumrall died Friday, June 25, in UTMB in Galveston.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy Sumrall of Livingston; son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Katie Kalanta of Kingwood; daughter, Ann Michelle Moore of Nacogdoches; brother, Edward Sumrall of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Doris Heinze of Jasper; grandsons, Joshua Kalanta of Livingston, Carter Allen Eddleston of Spring and Robert Thomas Blum of Willis; granddaughters, Kaylee Jordyn Kalanta and Morgan Elizabeth Kalanta, both of Kingwood; special friend, Richard Progus of Lufkin; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Mark Moore, Dickie Musgrove, Duff Nelson, Keith Sumrall, Donald James and Stephen Stockman.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.
