AYRE January 6 (peacefully), of Stanhope. Constance (Connie), aged 91 years, dearly loved wife of the late Charlie and a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. A Committal Service in Durham Crematorium on Monday, January 17 at 12.00 noon, will be followed by a Thanksgiving Service in Stanhope Methodist Chapel at 1.00 p.m. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to the National Childrens Home and Weardale Community Hospital. Plate provided in the chapel.

BAINBRIDGE January 4 (peacefully, at home after a long illness fought with great dignity and courage), of Willoughby Hall, Baldersdale, Barnard Castle. Frank, aged 47 years. Dearly beloved husband of Olwen, a much loved dad of Caroline and Richard, a very dear son of Maureen, a much loved brother of Audrey and Kathleen and a dear brother-in-law and uncle. Will friends please meet for service in St. Cuthbert's Church, Cotherstone on Friday January 14, at 12.00 noon followed by interment in Cotherstone Cemetery. Family flowers only please. BARKER January 3, of Bishop Auckland, formerly of Leeholme. Jeanette, aged 73 years, beloved wife of Arthur, devoted mam of Lorraine and Angela, dear mother-in-law to Ken and Paul, also much loved and loving gran to Daniel, Philip, Lisa and Caszandra. Will friends please meet for service in St. Andrew's Church, Bishop Auckland at 2.00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11, followed by private cremation.

BATTLE Fr. Tony Battle (Priest of the West Durham Family of Parishes). Very peacefully at the Marie Curie Centre on January 3, aged 62 years. Much loved son of Maria and the late Jack, dear brother of Maureen and Christine, brother-in-law of Paul and Peter and a much loved uncle. Fr. Tony is to be received into St. Mary's Cathedral, Newcastle on Wednesday, January 12 at 7.00 p.m. Requiem Mass Thursday, January 13 at 12.00 noon. With thanks to God for his life, for the inspiration and encouragement he gave to so many friends, parishioners and brother priests. Donations in lieu of flowers to the Marie Curie Centre, Elswick, Newcastle. May he rest in peace

BOWATER (nee Johnson). Kathleen. Dear wife of Bill. passed away peacefully on New Years Day, 2005 at University Hospital, North Durham after a long illness. For many years a nurse at St. Margaret's, Durham and later for nine years a Marie Curie nurse. Would family and friends please meet for service at Durham Crematorium on Wednesday January 12, at 2.00 p.m. Family flowers only please with donations kindly accepted by Marie Curie Cancer Care. BOWATER (nee Johnson). Kathleen. passed away very peacefully on New Years Day, 2005 after a long difficult illness. Dear sister of Richard Bryan (Johnson) and Janet, aunt of Sarah and Paul, Susie and Chris and great-aunt of Jenny, Helen, Sally, William and Tom. Now at rest after a lifetime of hard work.

BOWE The funeral of the late George Scarr Bowe of Catriggs Farm, Hawes will take place on Monday, January 10 at St. Margaret's Church, Hawes at 1.00 p.m., followed by interment at Hawes Cemetery. George Alfred, aged 82 years, beloved husband of Edna, dearly loved father of David and Trevor, also a much loved father-in-law, grandad and great-grandad. Funeral Thursday, January 13. Norah (nee Standing), aged 95 years, wife of the late William, a much loved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother of the family. Les, aged 89 years, beloved husband of Lavinia, devoted dad of Lesley, John and Caroline, dearly loved grandad of Jon-Paul, also a dear stepfather, brother, brother-in-law and uncle. Annie, aged 81 years, beloved wife of the late Ralph, dearly loved mother of Sharon, mother-in-law of Michael and a very dear nana of Philip and Christopher. Ivy (nee Stuart), aged 80 years, dearly beloved wife of James and a much loved mam of John, Margaret and all the family. Arthur, a much loved husband to Edna May (nee Kells), also a dear dad to Arthur and Barry, dear father-in-law to Karein and Christine and a cherished grandad and great-grandad. Cortege to leave residence on Monday for service at the Church of the Ascension, Easington Colliery at 1.15 p.m., prior to a cremation at Durham Crematorium. Thomas, aged 63 years of Watson Road, Newton Aycliffe, dearly loved husband of June, father of Ian and Linda and their partners Jayne and John, much loved grandfather of Dale and Scott, loving brother of Olga and son-in-law of Doris and all the families. Mary Ann, aged 90 years, beloved wife of the late Matthew, dearly loved mother of Violet, Matty and the late Alfie, dear mother-in-law of Nellie and Tom, also dearly loved granny and great-granny.
