Peacefully, in hospital on May 16, after a short illness bravely borne, aged 85 years, loving wife of Martin, very much loved mum of Malcolm and Gillian, mother-in-law and devoted gran of Jason, Michelle, Samantha and their partners and a great-grandma. Funeral service and cremation to take place at York Crematorium at 11.30 a.m. Thursday May 22. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu if desired to, Yorkshire Cancer Research Campaign.

HODGSON May 20, in a Harrogate Hospital, was resident at Clova House, Ripon and previously at Skipton Hall, Skipton-on-Swale. Christina, aged 97 years, wife of the late John and dearly loved auntie of Geoffrey and Trevor and families. Funeral service to be held at St. Andrew's Church, Lamesley on Friday, May 30 at 12.00 noon, followed by interment at Saltwell Cemetery. Donations if wished, in lieu of flowers, may be given to Cancer Care U.K.

HOLGATE May 17. Sidney PhD. C.B.E. Founder and First Master of Grey College, Durham. Devoted husband of Belle and loving brother of Joyce. Private service for family and close friends in The Lattin Chapel at Grey College, followed by cremation. Notice of Memorial Service will follow.

HOLMES James Stuart May 16 (peacefully at home), of Shildon. Loving husband of Chris, much loved dad and grandad, also a brilliant son, brother and uncle. Service 2.15 p.m. Tuesday, May 27 at St. John's Church, followed by interment at Shildon Cemetery. We are all so proud of you, loving you always.

HONEYMAN Derek Bernard, at home in Hutton Rudby, on May 23. Derek, aged 77 years, beloved husband of the late Joyce (nee Swales), much loved dad to Steve, Pete and Tim, father-in-law of Margaret and Bev, special grandad to Lynsey, Jason, Luke and Tom. Funeral service to be held in All Saints' Church, Rudby on Thursday, May 29 at 10.30 a.m., followed by cremation at St. Hilda's Chapel, Teesside Crematorium at 11.15 a.m. Family flowers only. Donations, if wished, for church funds.

HORN Rena, aged 54 years, of Melsonby, peacefully in hospital, on May 22, after a long illness borne with great courage and dignity. Dearly loved wife of Basil, much loved mum of Christine and Gary, dear mother-in-law of Gary and Catherine, loving nan of Aaron, Megan, Michael, Danielle and Emily, beloved daughter of Olga, very dear sister of Kenneth and Ann and also a dear sister-in-law and aunt. Funeral particulars later.

HUTCHINSON May 17, suddenly at home, in Romanby, Northallerton. Norman Robson, dearly loved husband of Joan. Private family cremation, followed by a Memorial Service in the Kingdom Hall, Romanby, Northallerton on Friday, May 23 at 1.30 p.m. Family flowers only. Donations, if wished, may be given for the Coronary Care Unit at the Friarage Hospital.

IBBOTSON Vera May, peacefully at Thornton Park Nursing Home, on May 18, aged 82 years. Beloved wife of George, much loved mother of Maureen, Robert and Kathryn, mother-in-law, grandma and great-grandma. Funeral service at All Saints' Church, Kirkbymoorside, followed by interment at Gillamoor Cemetery on Friday, May 23 at 2.30 p.m. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, may be given for The Blind and Fadmoor Village Hall.

JOHNSON Patricia Judith, (Tricia, Petty Officer, Royal Navy), aged 33 years, of Penzance, Cornwall, formerly of Richmond. Died suddenly on May 1. Dearly loved daughter of Bill and Judy, much loved sister to Karen, Michael and Michelle and a loving grand-daughter, niece and aunty. Funeral service at Richmond Methodist Church on Friday May 23, at 12 noon, followed by interment in the cemetery. Friends please meet at the church. Flowers welcome or if preferred donations may be given in church for Richmond Methodist Church Funds or The National Society for Epilepsy and the Royal Navy Benevolent Fund or alternatively they are being accepted by John Blenkiron and Sons Funeral Directors, Victoria House, 21 Queens Road, Richmond. KIPLING May 16 (suddenly), of Wood Square, Bishop Auckland. Margaret (nee Challis), aged 82 years, dearly loved wife of John, a devoted mother of Ronnie and Alfie, mother-in-law of June, a dearest nanna of Alvin and Jonathon, also a dear sister to Kenny and Nancy. Cremation Friday, May 23 at Durham. Cortege leaving residence at 1.20 p.m. for a service in the Methodist Church, Bishop Auckland at 1.30 p.m. Friends please meet at church.

KIPLING Winifred May (Winnie), aged 94 years, peacefully on May 17 at Morris Grange Nursing Home, formerly of Brough Avenue, Colburn. Beloved wife of the late Wilf, dear sister of the late Mary and Maggie and a much loved aunt. Funeral service in St. Cuthbert's Church, Colburn on Tuesday, May 27 at 1.15 p.m., followed by cremation at Darlington. Friends please meet at the church.

Edward (Ted), aged 34 years, a loving father of Dean, Kelly and Rebecca, beloved son of Carol and Bob, brother of Robert, Terry and Donna and a loving partner of Gillian. Cortege leaving mother's residence Tuesday 9.30 a.m. Friends please meet for service and cremation at Durham Crematorium 10.00 a.m. Bus provided, leaving Trimdon Grange W.M.C. 9.30 a.m.

METCALFE May 16, in hospital, after a short illness, in South Africa. Malcolm Hebdon (Mally), aged 70. The Funeral in Durban took place May 21. A Memorial Service will be held at St. John's Church, Hipswell on a date to be announced. A much loved brother who will be greatly missed by all his family.

MOORE May 17, of Aged Miners Homes, Willington. Elizabeth (Betty), aged 89 years, beloved wife of the late Bob, dearly loved mam and mother-in-law of Barry, Alan and Connie, also a much loved grandma and great-grandma. Would friends please meet for service at Willington Methodist Church on Tuesday, May 27 at 10.45 a.m., followed by private cremation at Durham.

MORTIMER May 20, (peacefully), in St Margarets Nursing Home. Mildred, aged 93 years. Friends please meet for service at Durham Crematorium on Wednesday May 28, at 3.30 p.m.

MUNDY May 16 (peacefully), of Leeholme. Ena (nee Johnson), aged 81 years, loving wife of the late Fred, also a dearly loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Friends please meet for service in St. James' Church, Coundon on Saturday, May 24 at 10.30 a.m., followed by interment in Coundon Cemetery.

MURPHY Marjorie, aged 86 years, of Richmond, died peacefully at her daughter's residence on May 21. Beloved wife of the late Con, much loved mother of Jane and Michael, dear mother-in-law to Michael and Pauleen and loving grandmother of Mark, Paul, Jo, Anna, Helen and Philip. Funeral arrangements later.

Beloved wife of the late John, much loved mother of Margaret, Mike and Alan and a dear mother-in-law, loving nana and great-nana. Funeral service at Darlington Crematorium on Thursday, May 29 at 11.15 a.m. Friends please meet at the crematorium chapel. PAMPLIN John Warner, of Hamsterley, Co Durham on May 20, in hospital, much loved by his wife and family. Service and cremation took place in private on Friday, May 23 at Hartlepool Crematorium.
