William (Kem), aged 78 years, a beloved husband of the late Hilda, much loved dad of Colleen, Rosalleen, Carol, Terry and Sheena, a dear grandfather and great-grandfather, also brother of Mary. Friends please meet for service in St. James' Church, Coundon on Thursday, February 16 at 11.10 a.m., followed by cremation at Durham.


WETHERILL - February 9 (peacefully, in hospital), of North allerton and formerly of Shipton-by-Bening brough, York and Coxwold. Norman, aged 73 years, dearly beloved husband of Audrey, much loved father of Anne, a dear father-in-law of Tom and a loving grandad of James and Tommy. Funeral service to take place at St. Thomas' Church, Brompton on Thursday, February 16 at 2.00 p.m., followed by interment. No flowers by request. Donations may be given for the Rutson Hospital and the Romanby Ward and the Friarage Hospital, Northallerton. Friends and relatives please meet at the Church.


WHEATLEY - Houghton-le-Spring January 30 (in hospital). Keith, aged 68 years, beloved father of Simon, Sarah and Emma, dear grandpa (Giggly) of Jacob, Ben, Matthew, Thomas, Isaac and Samuel. Keith will also be greatly missed by Maureen and all his many friends. Friends please meet for service at St. Michael and All Angels Church, Hough-ton on Wednesday February 8 at 10.30 am, followed by cremation at Durham Crematorium at 11.30 a.m. (Cremation for family and friends only). Family flowers only. Donations in lieu, if so desired, to Durham Wildlife Trust c/o Julie Spence, Rainton Meadows, Chilton Moor, Houghton-le-Spring, Tyne and Wear DH4 6PU.


WILSON - Muriel (Paddy) widow of Harold, formerly of Dale Road, Darlington, died peacefully in a Manchester Hospital on January 31, 2006. Funeral at St. Lawrence Parish Church Long Buckby, Northants at 3.00 pm on Saturday, February 11. Family flowers only please. Donations to Lady of the Vale Nursing Home, Grange Road, Bowdon, Cheshire, WA14 3HA.


AITKEN - On January 29, of Grayson Grange, Spennymoor. Winnie, aged 78 years, a beloved sister, sister-in-law and aunt. Would friends please meet for service in Durham Crematorium Chapel on Thursday, February 2 at 12.00 noon.


APPLEBY - January 30 (peacefully, in hospital), of Leeming. Freda, dearly beloved wife of John, loving mother of Janet, John, William and David and dear grandma to Caroline, Thomas and Jack. Funeral service and cremation to take place at Darlington Crematorium on Monday, February 6 at 2.15 p.m.


BANNISTER - January 29, of West Auckland. Terence Emmerson (Terry), aged 68 years, beloved partner of Ellen, much loved dad of Jeffrey, Steven, Kaye, Luke and James, dear stepdad to Wayne and Shaun, loving grandad, dear brother of Maxy, also brother-in-law and uncle. Will all family and friends please meet for service in St. Helen's Church at 9.45 a.m. on Friday, February 3, followed by interment in West Auckland Cemetery.


BARNFATHER - (Hurworth) January 31 (peacefully in hospital). Fenwick, aged 83 years, dearly beloved and loving husband of Blanche, loving and much loved dad of Lorna and David and a much loved grandpa and great-grandpa. Funeral Tuesday, February 7. Would friends kindly meet for service in All Saints Church, Hurworth at 12.45 p.m. Family flowers only please. Donations may be sent for Rockcliffe Court Surgery Comfort Fund.


BARRON IRVINE - Mrs M. Peacefully with her daughter, in Cornwall. A Service of Thanksgiving in her home parish will be held in the Spring. Notice of date to be published.


BERGIN - February 3, in hospital, of Barnard Castle (after an illness bravely borne). Olive Florence (nee Gibson), aged 53 years. Much loved daughter of the late Charles and Adelia, dear mother of Genette, much loved sister of James, Linda and Caroline and grandmother of Joshua. Sadly missed by all family and friends. Would friends please meet for funeral service at St. Mary's Parish Church, Barnard Castle on Thursday, February 9 at 11.30 a.m., followed by interment. Donations, if desired, may be given in church to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.


BESWICK - On February 2, of Farmendon, Gunnerside. Harry, aged 88 years, dearly loved husband of Agnes, a loving dad and grandad. Funeral service to be held at St. Mary's Church, Muker on Tuesday, February 7 at 12.00 noon, followed by interment in the churchyard. Family flowers only please, however, donations in memory of Harry, if so desired, may be given at the service for St. Mary's Church and Gunnerside Village Hall. Will friends please meet at the church and accept this intimation.


BETTON - January 16 (tragically in Australia), of Watersmeeting, Harwood-in-Teesdale. William Richard, aged 22 years, beloved son of Richard and Dodge and a dearly loved brother of Edmund, Elinor and Sophie. Friends please meet for service at St. Mary's Church, Middleton-in-Teesdale on Wednesday, February 1 at 2.00 p.m., to be followed by interment at St. James the Less Churchyard. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu may be made in church for the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution and Church Funds.


BIGLIN - George Ernest Ernie, aged 91 years, peacefully on January 30 in North Park Residential Home, Darlington (formerly of Aycliffe Village). Beloved husband of the late Gladys, much loved father of the late Paul, a dear friend of the late Cissie and a much loved brother and uncle. Funeral Wednesday February 8. BODDY - Francis William (Grub), late of Hartoft, passed away peacefully at Thornton Park on Wednesday February 1 2006, aged 85 years, a dearly loved brother and brother-in-law of Bert and Mary and a dear uncle of Ken. The funeral service will take place at St. Lawrence Church, Rosedale on Wednesday, February 8 at 1.30 p.m., followed by interment. Family flowers only please, but donations if desired are for St. Lawrence Church and Cancer Research. A collection plate will be provided.

BOTT - Barry Samuel, beloved brother of Una, brother-in-law of Leslie and uncle to Neil, Cheryl and Steven. Missing You Already

Barry Samuel, aged 75 years, of Newton Aycliffe, loving husband of Noreen, dear father to Christine and Graham, father-in-law of Claire and devoted grandad to Christopher. Will be sadly missed. Funeral to take place on Tuesday, February 7 at Darlington Crematorium at 10.15 a.m. Please meet at the Crematorium.


BOYNTON - Margaret (nee Brown), formerly of Haswell Plough, suddenly on January 26, much loved wife of Keith, dearest mam of Michelle and Tracy, dear mother-in-law of Paul and Chris, treasured nana of Jack and Joseph, dear sister of Jim and Dora and sister-in-law of Maureen, Lance, Margaret and Bill. Funeral service to take place on Thursday, February 2 at St. Margaret's Church, Brookfield Middlesbrough at 1.00 p.m. prior to cremation at Teesside Crematorium. Friends please meet at the Church. Remembering you is easy, we do it every day, The heartache of losing you never goes away. Loved and missed always.


BROWN - Joyce On January 31, peacefully at Leeming Garth Nursing Home. Joyce, aged 90 years. Beloved wife of the late Alf Brown, also dear mother, mother-in-law and grandma.

Lawrence Matthew (Dick), aged 65 years, dearly loved husband of Pamela, loving father of Stephen and Jeffrey, father-in-law of Melanie, a dear grandad of Jessica and Liam and a devoted brother. Friends please meet for Requiem Mass in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church on Saturday, February 4 at 9.00 a.m., followed by interment in Newhouse Cemetery. Friends welcome for refreshments in the church hall afterwards. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu may be given after the service for St. Cuthbert's Hospice. On whose soul sweet Jesus have mercy. R.I.P
