Friends please meet for service at St. Peter's Church, Byers Green on Wednesday, October 3 at 10.30 a.m. Interment to follow. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu to Sunderland Royal Infirmary Renal Ward may be left with the family. All are welcome afterwards for refreshments at Whitworth Hall.

MacKAY - Dr. Donald Melvin September 22, (peacefully, after a short illness), aged 83 years. General practitioner in Northallerton 1952 - 1984. Much loved husband of Monica, father to Andrew and William, father-in-law to Margaret and Carol, adored grandpa to Kathryn, Rachel, Lorna and Elizabeth. Private family cremation at Darlington. MITCHELL - Winifred Laura, aged 95 years, mother of George-Anne Brooks of Barningham died on September 27 at Qualicum Beach, Vancouver Island, Canada.

MITCHELL - Tragically, on September 23, of Bowburn. Emma Louise, aged 15 years, will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. Would friends please meet for service and cremation at Durham Crematorium on Thursday, October 4 at 3.30 p.m.

MONK - On September 23, in hospital, after a long illness, of Darlington. William Henry, aged 82 years, ex-Northern Echo employee. Beloved husband of the late Freda, dearly loved father of Barbara, Brenda, Pamela and Tony, father-in-law of Arthur, Mark and Terry, also a loving grandad to Kelly, Darryl, Kerrie and Kirstie and great-grandad of Megan and Maddison. Doreen, aged 81 years, dearly loved wife of the late Les, loving mother of Leslie, mother-in-law of Patricia and a loving grandma of Graeme and Iain. To be received into St. Giles' Church, Durham on Sunday, September 30 at 7.00 p.m. Funeral service on Monday October 1 at 11.15 am. Cremation to follow. Family flowers only. MORTIMER - Seaham September 21, peacefully in hospital, late of Easington Lane. John, aged 84 years, beloved husband of the late Jean (nee Iceton) dearly loved uncle of Freda and a much loved great-uncle to all his extended family, also a very dear friend to Muriel. Would friends please meet on Monday, October 1 for service in Seaham Methodist Church at 10.00 a.m., prior to committal in Sunderland Crematorium at 11.00 a.m. All are cordially invited afterwards to the Church Hall for refresh-ments.
