Ruth Ann Gourley Perkey, 40, of Bristol Virginia, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of
Johnson City and a resident of Bristol all of her life.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Rachel McDavid and Roseann McDavid, both of Bristol Virginia; two sons, Adam McDavid and John McDavid, both of Bristol Virginia; her mother, Hazel Gourley of Salem, Va.; a sister, Rachel McDaniel of Montvale, Va.; a brother, Edgar Gourley of Chilhowie; a granddaughter; three half-sisters; three half-brothers; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Noah F. Plummer
ABINGDON -- Noah Franklin Plummer, 82, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Grayson County and had lived most of his life in Washington County.
He was a retired employee of the Town of Abingdon with 36 years of service.
Mr. Plummer was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Price Plummer, and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine Virginia Plummer; a son, Noah F. Plummer Jr. of Abingdon; two daughters, Mrs. Judy Ellen Russ and Mrs. Phyllis J. Walden, both of Abingdon; six stepsons; three stepdaughters; a sister, Ola Cook of Abingdon; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Ruth A. Robinette
RUSSELL COUNTY -- Ruth Agnes Jamison Robinette, 96, of the Swords Creek section, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, in Russell County Medical Center in Lebanon.
She was a native of Russell County, and a member of the Clearview United Methodist Church in Raven, Va., the Order of the Eastern Star in Richlands, and the Swords Creek PTA.
She was the widow of Nick Robinette. She and her husband owned and operated the Raven Coffee Shop for several years.
Survivors include a son, Carl Robinette of Las Vegas, Nev.; three daughters, Mrs. Doris McGlothlin and Mrs. Cliff (Nancy) Lane, both of Raven, and Mrs. Gay Salsberry of Detroit; a sister, Mrs. Louise Rutherford of Honaker; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

SALEM, Va. -- Debra Lynn Rowland, 39, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, in Lewis Gale Hospital.
Survivors include her father, W. Roger Rowland of Marion; a sister, Sherry Rowland Sternberg of Williamsburg, Va.; a brother, William Roger Rowland Jr. of Greensboro, N.C.; her paternal grandmother, Virginia D. Rowland of Marion; and four nieces and nephews.

Charles M. Stout
Charles Mack Stout, 68, of Bristol Virginia, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, at his home.
He was a native of Elizabethton and had lived most of his life in Bristol. He was a retired painting contractor, a U.S. Army veteran, and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Penley Stout; four daughters, Vickie Stout of Jacksonville, Fla., Ann Franklin of Hickory, N.C., Kathy Faisal of Atlanta, and Lisa Clifton of Richlands; a son, Ricky Stout of Bristol Virginia; three sisters, Marjorie Ball, Clara Wright and Sue Jones, all of Bristol Virginia; three brothers, Howard Stout and Glen Stout, both of Bristol Virginia, and Bill Stout of West Virginia; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Francis C. Tate Sr.
Francis Campbell Tate Sr., 81, of 13120 Melina Lane, Bristol, Va., died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, in the James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center at Mountain Home.
He had lived in the Bristol area for 45 years, was a former exterminator and retired as a service station manager.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, and served in the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Valery Tate; two daughters, Gloria Gately of Bristol Tennessee, and Teresa Fiorito of West Milford, N.J.; two sons, Francis Campbell Tate Jr. and Gary Tate, both of Bristol Virginia; two brothers, Robert Tate and Leon Tate, both of Bristol Virginia; five grandchildren; three great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

TAZEWELL, Va. -- Annie Holmes Taylor, 84, died Wednesday, March 3, 1999, in Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Tazewell.
She was the widow of James Emory Taylor and a member of the Tannersville Church of Christ.
Survivors include a brother, Graham Holmes of Tannersville; and several nieces and nephews.

CASTLEWOOD -- Joe Harold Taylor, 63, died Wednesday, March 3, 1999, in Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center in Kingsport.
He was a native of Scott County, had lived in Castlewood since 1981 and was a member of Gravel Lick Old Regular Baptist Church in Castlewood.
Survivors include his wife, Eliza Hale Taylor; a daughter, Lisa Taylor Dockery of Marion; two sons, Eddie Taylor and Randy Taylor, both of Richlands; his mother, Maude Della Lane Taylor of Gate City; four sisters, Marie Wallen, Phyllis Rhoten and Billie Tipton, all of Kingsport, and Lois Prince of Nashville; two brothers, Tommy Taylor of Gate City, and Jerry Taylor of Church Hill, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

VALLSCREEK, W.Va. -- Carrie Edna Hess Tipton, 82, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, in a Bluefield, W.Va., hospital.
She was a native of Lebanon, had made her home in the Vallscreek area for the past 52 years and attended Dry Fork Assembly of God Church since 1975.
She was the widow of William "Bill" Tipton.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Danny (Billie Jean) Uhl and Mrs. Ollie Mae Carico, both of Vallscreek, and Miss Shirley Jean Keating of Chicago; a son, Glen Junior Hess of Honaker; a sister, Mrs. Clarence (Charmie Mae) Hess of Honaker; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Bobby J. Viers
GRUNDY -- Bobby Joe Viers, 58, of Walnut Street, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, at his home.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Buchanan County, a member of Grundy Church of Christ and a graduate of Grundy High School Class of 1959. He received an associate degree from Southwest Virginia Community College and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was self-employed.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ratliff Viers; two sons, Chad Andrew Viers of Bristol Tennessee, and Shane Alexander Viers of Melbourne, Fla.; a brother, J.B. Viers of Bluefield, Va.; a granddaughter; and a grandson.

RAVEN, Va. -- The Rev. Roger Dale Ward, 44, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, in Keen Mountain, Va.
He was a native of Tazewell County, a disabled electrician and a member of the Keen Mountain Pentecostal Church in Keen Mountain.
