ELBERTA, Ala. -- Funeral services for Emily Jane Hale Summers will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in Honaker Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Harry Moore will officiate. Entombment will be in Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Lebanon.
Mrs. Summers, 86, formerly of Gardner community near Honaker, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, in Foley, Ala.
Pallbearers will be relatives and friends.

Brown Todd
Lois
Brown Todd, 74, of Brookwood Road, Bristol Tennessee, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, in Wellmont Hospice House.
She was a daughter of the late J. Henry
Brown and Berta Cole Brown, and the widow of Billy Frank Todd.
She was a graduate of Radford Teachers College in Radford, Va., and completed post-graduate work at East Tennessee State University.
She was a retired school teacher with the Sullivan County School System, spending the majority of her 30-year teaching career at Weaver Elementary School.
She was a longtime member of Virginia Avenue United Methodist Church, where she served as secretary for many years for United Methodist Women Association.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Bruce (Helen) Galyen of Galax, Va., and Mrs. Shelton (Evelyn) Moore of Ellicott, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Virginia Avenue United Methodist Church by Oakley-Cook Funeral Home. The Rev. Laura Rasor will officiate. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family members.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Tuesday before the service in the church parlor.

Hargus Watts
Hargus "Gus" Watts, 83, of Bristol Tennessee, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired employee from Curtis Wright in Patterson, N.J., as an engineer with 40 years of service. He held patents for several aircraft and space projects.
He had lived in Bristol since 1987 and was a member of Cornerstone Chapel Church, where he served as a deacon.
Surviving are his wife, Fay Watts; two sisters, Wanda Collier and Patsy Watts, both of Kingsport; three brothers, Navarre Watts Jr. of Kingsport, Don Watts of Jonesborough, Tenn., and William Watts of Fort Blackmore, Va.; his stepmother, Zola Watts of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in Jackson Day Cemetery in Cranks, Ky.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.

BATON ROUGE, La. -- Funeral services for Madeline Hawthornre Barker will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Farris Funeral Chapel in Abingdon. Burial will be in Holston Conference Cemetery.
Mrs. Barker, 87, died Wednesday, Jan,. 5, 2000, at Our lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday in Farris Funeral Service.

Mrs. Bozell, 63, of 1133 Georgia Ave., Bristol, Tenn., died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late Reece and Katherine Quillen, a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are her husband, James Robert Bozell; two daughters, Billie Whittaker and Kathy Limburg, both of Bristol Tennessee; two sons, Charles S. Dickson and Thomas Reece Dickson, both of Bristol Tennessee; two stepdaughters, Barbara Cushaw of Greeneville, Tenn., and Mary Akins of Church Hill, Tenn.; a stepson, Cecil William Dickson Jr. of Greeneville; two sisters, Opal Lee Lynch of Lafayette, Ind., and Margaret Pierce of Monroe, Mich.; and 12 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mickey Rosenbalm, Mark Duty, Tim Allen, Mike Cook, Keith Stratton, Scott
Smith and Tony Akins.

Ruth E. Bullington
LAKE PLACID, Fla. -- Ruth E. "Webb" Bullington died Thursday, Jan,. 6, 2000, in Lake Placid.
She was a 1941 graduate of Mary Hughes High School and a graduate of East Tennessee State College in 1945. She was voted Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities for three years and was a schoolteacher for over 50 years.
Surviving are her husband, D.E. Bullington; two sisters, Gay Walker of
Johnson City and Ruby L. Hart of Reddington Shores, Fla.; two brothers, Roy Webb of
Johnson City and Bernie Webb of Blountville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Popular Ridge Christian Church. The Rev. Frank
Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Popular Ridge Cemetery.
Ms. Bullington was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Webb; and a sister, Lydia Jones.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the service Tuesday in the church.

Edith G. Byington
Edith Gentry Byington, 79, of Bristol Tennessee died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, in Wellmont Hospice House.
She was born in
Green Springs, Va., a daughter of the late James and Maude Drugan Gentry. She was a retired employee of Briscoe Motor Inn with 29 years of service.
Surviving are three sons, Paul Byington of Colonial Heights, Va., and Charles Lynn Byington and Larry Byington, both of Bristol Virginia; two brothers, Irby Gentry of Hopewell, Va., and Leonard Gentry of Bristol Tennessee; two grandchildren; three nephews; and two nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Blevins Funeral Home Chapel in Bristol Virginia. The Revs. Charles
Jones and Bill Pealer will officiate. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mrs. Byington was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Gentry; and three brothers, Clinton Gentry, Fenly Gentry and Lewis Gentry.
Among survivors are grandchildren, Gannon Byington and Keegan Byington; daughters-in-law, Pam Byington and Sondra Byington; nephews, Franklin Gentry, Ray Gentry and Jerry Gentry; nieces, Yvonne Scott and Deborah Saharides; and sisters-in-law, Maude Gentry and Cleo Gentry.
The family extends sincere appreciation to Wellmont Hospice for their kindness and care, especially Jim Lundy, Margaret Cross, Vicki Danna, Cheryl Young and Dr. Sue Prill.

MOUTH CARD, Ky. -- Lessie Taylor Cantrell, 78, of the Little Card Section, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at her home.
She was born in Pike County, Ky., a daughter of the late Marrion William Taylor and Polly Fields Taylor. She grew up in Elkfoot of Biggs, Ky., and was a member of Faith Worship Baptist Church at Mouth Card.
She was the widow of The Rev. Ernel E. Cantrell.
Surviving are six sons, Roger Cantrell, Randall Cantrell and Michael Cantrell, all of Mouth Card, Larry Cantrell of Feds Creek, Ky., Thomas Cantrell of Lynchburg, Va., and Gregory Cantrell of Hackneys Creek; three daughters, Patty Pruitt of Mouth Card, Nancy Fuller of Feds Creek and Jerri Dotson of Hurley, Va.; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at noon in Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home in Grundy, Va. The Revs. Doug Hess, Earl Mills and Nando Mullins Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery at the mouth of Little Card Creek, Mouth Card.
Mrs. Cantrell was also preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Kay Cantrell; two sons, Ronald E. and Donnie B. Cantrell; three sisters, Engie Jane Owens, Marcella Taylor Slone and Letchie Owens; three brothers, Hibbert Taylor, Thery Ellen Taylor and Rillis Taylor.
Among survivors are daughters-in-law, Virginia Cantrell, Connie Cantrell and Elizabeth Cantrell, all of Mouth Card, Debra Cantrell of Feds Creek, Donna Cantrell of Lynchburg and Lisa Cantrell of Hackneys Creek; and sons-in-law, Hollie Pruitt of Mouth Card, Rodney Fuller of Feds Creek and Steve Dotson of Hurley.
There will be services Monday at 7 p.m. in Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home.

CEDAR BLUFF -- Funeral services for Ollie Ellen Hubard Dye will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands. The Rev. Toby Hubbard will officiate. Burial will be in Russell Memorial Cemetery in Lebanon.
Mrs. Dye, 90, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, in a Tazewell hospital.
