BLOUNTVILLE - military graveside rites for Stanley Everette Blair will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in Gunnings Cemetery by Charles DeWitt Byrd VFW Post 3382. Those attending should meet at the cemetery Sunday at 1:50 p.m.
Mr. Blair died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, in the James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center at Mountain Home.
Pallbearers will be Robert Carrier, Brian Fellars, Jerry Blair, Kenneth Blair, Stanley W. Blair and John Huffman.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Local 549.
Carter-Trent Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Cyril Carver
GLADE SPRING -- Funeral services for Cyril J. Carver will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in Glade Spring Presbyterian Church by Farris Funeral Service in Abingdon. The Rev. Timothy Bird will officiate.
Burial will be in Old Glade Presbyterian Cemetery with military honors by Hardy Roberts VFW Post 7328 of Saltville.
Mr. Carver, 84, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, in Bradley Memorial Hospital in Cleveland, Tenn.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Salvation Army, 700 Spring St.,
Johnson City, TN 37605.

Owen Caudill
CASTLEWOOD -- Funeral services for Owen Caudill will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel.
The Revs. Myers Vicars and Lester Sexton will officiate.
Entombment will be in the Chapel of Love Mausoleum in Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood with military rites by Lebanon VFW Post 9864.
Mr. Caudill, 77, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, in Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport.
Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Castlewood Masonic Lodge 231 AF&AM and UMWA Local 1256.

Ethel Cornett
KINGSPORT -- Aldy Ethel Cornett, 82, formerly of Arno, Va., died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, in Sunbridge-Hillside Manor Healthcare.
She was born in Wise County, Va., a daughter of the late Rev. Vilder Flanary and Vestie Clark Flanary, and was the widow of Willie H. "Red" Cornett. She lived most of her life in Arno, and attended the Sullivan Baptist Church in Kingsport.
Surviving are four sisters, Barbara Parsons of Big Stone Gap, Va., and Eppie Jennings, Thelma Davis and Dovie Clark, all of Dayton, Ohio; five brothers, Ray Flanary of East Stone Gap, Va., Edd Flanary, Ralph Flanary and Herbert Flanary, all of Big Stone Gap, and Melvin Flanary of Lenoir City, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Holding Funeral Home Chapel in Big Stone Gap.
The Rev. Jeff Strong will officiate.
Burial will be in American Legion Cemetery.
Mrs. Cornett was also preceded in death by a sister, Virgie Flanary; and a brother, Earl Flanary.
She had made her home with Don and Sharon Littleton in Kingsport since November of 1996.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday in Holding Funeral Home.
Vivian A. Davis
Funeral services for Vivian Ann Davis will be conducted Monday at 3 p.m. in Franklin Street United Methodist Church in Wytheville, Va., by Robinson Mortuary of Bristol, Va. The Rev. Angela Hardy will officiate.
The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in West End Cemetery.
The cortege will leave Robinson Mortuary Monday at 11:30 a.m. for the service in Wytheville.
Mrs. Davis, 52, of 1410 East Cedar St., Bristol, Tenn., died Friday, Feb. 3, 2000, at her home.
The family will receive friends at 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home and other times at the residence.

ABINGDON -- Funeral services for Earl Washington Denton will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in Farris Funeral Chapel.

Burial will be in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with military honors by Patton-Crosswhite VFW Post 6975.
Mr. Denton, 76, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, at his home.
Pallbearers will be Claude Worrell, Velmer Huff, Pete Faith, Clint Asbury, Clayton Lockhart, Joe Tolliver, Emmitt Farmer and Warren Charles. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews.

PINEY FLATS, Tenn. -- Funeral services for Blanche E. Dixon will be conducted Sunday at 7 p.m. in Akard Funeral Home Chapel.
The Rev. Harry Rehagen will officiate.
Graveside services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Paul Cemetery in Piney Flats.
Mrs. Dixon, 72, of 221 Dougherty Private Drive, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Norton and was a lifelong resident of Piney Flats.
She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Piney Flats.
Surviving are her husband, Walter Dixon; two daughters, Roberta Dixon of Charleston, S.C., and Louise Bentley of Bristol Tennessee; two sons, David Dixon of Church Hill, Tenn., and Eugene Dixon of Piney Flats; and two grandchildren.
Among survivors are grandchildren, Amanda Bentley of Bristol Tennessee and David Zahringer of Charleston; and daughter-in-law, Michelle R. Dixon of Church Hill.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday prior to the service in Akard Funeral Home.

MARION -- Alton French, 89, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, in Smyth County Community Hospital.

Fleta Irene Funk
Fleta Irene Funk, 96, of 11172 Goose Creek Road, Bristol, Va., died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at her home.
She had lived in the Bristol area for over two years and was a housewife.
She attended Jehovah's Witnesses-Kingdom Hall and was the widow of John Funk.
Surviving are a grandson, Larry Bennett of Bristol Virginia; two granddaughters, Debbie Griffith and Twila Willis, both of Bristol Virginia; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 12:30 p.m. in Mountain View Mausoleum by Weaver Funeral Home.
Dawson Armitage will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the service at the Mausoleum.
