Tommy Joe Vance

PALMYRA, Va. -- Tommy Joe Vance, 52, formerly of Tazewell, Va., died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, at his home.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands.

Jewel B. Wagner

Jewel Booher Wagner, 93, of 7359 Pin Oak Circle, Bristol, Va., died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area and a former employee of Big Jack Manufacturing Co. and Universal Moulded Fiber Glass Corp. She was a member of Euclid Avenue Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Fred Wagner of Port Charlotte, Fla.; four grandchildren, Linda Eades, Brenda Green and Jimmy Eades, all of Bristol, and Frieda Wagner of Chicago; two great-grandsons, Frank Green and Jamie Eades; and two great-great-granddaughters, Kaylee Green and Ashley Green.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 6 p.m. in Weaver Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Mike Owens will officiate. Burial will be Monday at 2 p.m. in Mountain View Mausoleum Chapel
Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Green, John Byrd, Mack Byrd, Bill Maiden and Charlie Green.
The family will receive friends after the funeral services Sunday in Weaver Funeral Home.

John T. Woods Jr.

CASTLEWOOD -- Funeral services for John T. Woods Jr. will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. John Branch will officiate. Burial will be in Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood.
Mr. Woods, 75, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000, in Russell County Medical Center in Lebanon.
Pallbearers will be Dennis J. Woods, Justin Sluss, Drew Kiser, James R. Kiser, Jess Wagner, Arthor Wagner and Eddie Meade.
Castlewood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Carl S. Worley

Carl Snapp Worley, 76, of Bristol Virginia died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, in Wellmont Hospice House.
He was a lifelong resident of Bristol, a retired self-employed painter and a member of Fellowship Chapel Church.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Hayton Worley; a stepson, Joe Tolbert of Bristol Virginia; a sister, Shirley Blue of Ventura, Calif.; a brother, Charles Worley of Newton, N.C.; six step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 3 p.m. in Fellowship Chapel Church by Akard Funeral Home. The Revs. Lester MacKinnon, Scott Price and Howard Robinson will officiate. Burial will be in Susong Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Danny Fee, Jules Fee, Marvin Farmer, Ronnie Bellamy, Michael Tolbert, Gary Tolbert, Kenneth Tester and Ray Marshall. Honorary pallbearers will be Herbert Carrier, Haskell Carrier, Jerry Vencill, Harold Wells, the Rev. E.W. Ely, Ralph Pendergrass and Ronnie Fuller.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday in Akard Funeral Home.

Margaret V. Buchanan

RICH VALLEY, Va. -- Margaret Virginia Buchanan, 84, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, in Francis Marion Manor Nursing Home.
She was the oldest daughter of the late Charlie and Myrtle Buchanan.
Surviving are two sisters, Mary Ethel Burkett of Rich Valley and Annie B. Novak of Elizabethtown, Ky.; two brothers, Robert Buchanan of Chilhowie and Howard Buchanan of Darby, Mont.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in Ridgedale United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dan Jividen will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Buchanan was also preceded in death by four brothers.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday in D.R. Henderson Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Saltville Rescue Squad.

Elmer C. Carr

PIQUA, Ohio -- Funeral services for Elmer C. "Kitty" Carr will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in Singleton Funeral Chapel in Cedar Bluff, Va. The Revs. Joe Copolo and James Sayers will officiate. Burial will be in Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands with military graveside honors by Casey Shortt VFW Post 9640 and Tazewell County Chapter 31 DAV.
Mr. Carr, 81, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, in a Dayton, Ohio, hospital.
Singleton Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Walter Cline Sr.

KINGSPORT -- Walter James Cline Sr., 69, of 103 Dalton St., died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at his home.
He was born in Hawkins County, a son of John Walter Cline of Church Hill and the late Martha Ann Jenkins Cline. He had lived in Kingsport since 1948. He retired from AGF Industries and attended several churches in the area. He was instrumental in the development of fire departments in Mount Carmel and Lynn Garden.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Louise Ferguson Cline; two daughters, Mrs. Ron (Dorothy) Carmack of Bristol Tennessee and Mrs. Bobby (Virginia) Shaffer of Kingsport; two sons, Walter Cline Jr. of Mount Carmel and Mike Cline of Kingsport; six brothers, Bill Cline, Everette Cline and Dave Cline, all of Kingsport, Ralph Cline of Michigan, Donald Cline of Colorado and Jimmy Cline of Church Hill; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 7 p.m. in Carter-Trent Funeral Home Chapel, downtown Kingsport. Pastor Lonnie Wooten Jr. and the Rev. John Anderson will officiate. Graveside services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Larkin Cemetery in Stanley Valley.
Pallbearers will be Mike Cline, Walter Cline Jr., Joshua Cline, Leon Cline, Bobby Shaffer and Ron Carmack. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Sullivan County Bird Dog Club.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home or any time at the residence.

Rachel C. Crouse

SALTVILLE -- Rachel Wanda Call Crouse, 77, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Surviving are her husband, Earnest H. Crouse; a daughter, Doris Ann Coe of Glade Spring; a son, Roger Crouse of Saltville; a brother, Buddy E. Call of Saltville; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in D.R. Henderson Funeral Home. The Revs. Charles Walker, E.C. Little and Marlin Jaynes Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery.
Among survivors are son-in-law James G. Coe of Glade Spring; daughter-in-law Patty Allison Crouse of Saltville; grandchildren Elaine Coe of Bristol Tennessee, Marie C. Olinger of Chilhowie and Blake Coe of Centreville; great-grandchildren Angela Olinger Wilson, Carrie Olinger, and Joshua and Jacob Coe; great-great-grandchild Santana Wilson; and sisters-in-law Ann Call and Elsie Call, both of Saltville.
Pallbearers will be Everett Rose, Locke McVey, Bryan Call, R.T. Surber, Douglas Fullen, John Burgess and Curtis Burgess. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Olinger Jr., Gerald Hall, Utah Olinger, Charles Taylor, Allen Fullen, Bill Coe and Bobby Montgomery.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday in D.R. Henderson Funeral Home.

Charles R. Eakin

COEBURN -- Charles Robert "Bob" Eakin, 56, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, in St. Mary's Hospital in Norton.
He was a son of the late Charles Harley Eakin and Pansy Virginia Glancy Eakin.
Surviving are a brother, Richard Eakin of Coeburn; a niece; and a nephew.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Estes Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Allen Shupe will officiate. Burial will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Laurel Grove Cemetery in Norton.
Among survivors are niece Kim Wyrick of Coeburn; and nephew Chris Eakin of Johnson City.
The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Friday in Estes Funeral Home.

Hazel M. Eanes

ABINGDON -- Funeral services for Hazel M. Eanes will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in Farris Funeral Chapel. The Revs. Sherman Thayer and Don Paxton will officiate. Burial will be in Knollkreg Memorial Park.
Mrs. Eanes, 81, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, in Grace Healthcare.
She was a lifelong resident of Washington County and a member of Washington Chapel United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Roy W. Eanes.
Surviving are a brother, Hobert McCall of Abingdon; a sister, Margaret Price of Bristol Tennessee; two nephews; and a great-nephew.
Among survivors are nephews Jim McCall and Wayne McCall, both of Abingdon; and great-nephew Stuart McCall of Abingdon.
Pallbearers will be Clyde Anderson, J.W. Campbell, Gene Miller, Fred Foran, Herbert Johnson and Stuart McCall. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Kestner, Douglas Mitchell, Bill Boyd, Paul Buckles, Charles McCall, James Tweed, Walter Minnick and H.S. Fogleman.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday in Farris Funeral Service.
