SWAGER
Ruth Mayo Swager, 70, of Richmond, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2001. She is survived by her son, David K. Swager; and grandson, Jeffrey S. Swager. Memorial services will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2001, at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church in Ashland. The Reid Funeral Home, Ashland, is assisting the family.

WHITE
Francis Maston White Sr., 86, of Mechanicsville, died Friday, January 19, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Louise W. White; his son, Francis Maston White Jr. and his wife, Patricia G. White; two grandchildren, Melissa Lynne White and Francis Maston White III; and one sister, Pauline B. Steele. Mr. White retired after 42 years as a conductor with the Seaboard Coastline Railroad. He was a longtime member of Northside Baptist Church, where he was a lifetime deacon. He was a 50 year member of Northside Lodge #292, AF&AM. Remains rest at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd., where the family will receive friends from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, and where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 22. Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

WIGGINS
Robert M. Wiggins of 2901 Barwood Rd., Glen Allen, Va., formerly of Chesterfield, died January 20, 2001. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd. Funeral notice later.

ADDISON
Donnie R. Addison, 35, of Chesterfield, passed away April 18, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Lisa B. Addison; his daughter, Amanda J. Addison; and a son, William G. Buchanan; two brothers, Clyde "Teko" Addison and Faron Addison; three sisters, Becky Sadler, Cathy Montgomery and Shirley Grogg; several nieces and nephews. Donnie was employed by J.W. Ferguson & Sons for 17 years. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, and where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Interment Sunset Memorial Park.

ALFORD
Cousar X. Alford Jr. of Richmond departed this life April 6, 2001. He was preceded in death by his son, Cousar X. Alford III and daughter, Tamisha Alford. His survivors include his wife, Gloria Alford; son, Rasool Alford; daughter, Asia Alford; granddaughters, Gloria Royal, Raquiyah and Aaliyah Alford; grandsons, Rasool Alford, RObert and Devon Brown; two sisters, Denise X. and Bambi; two brothers , Dwight and Edwin; three uncles, two aunts, six sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Sts., where funeral services will be held, Saturday, April 21, 2 p.m. Bro. Melvin X. Darden, officiating. Interment in Maury Cemetery. William J. Battle of Richmond departed this life Thursday, April 19, 2001. Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Streets. Funeral notice later.

BELL
Austin Todd Bell, age 3, son of Todd and Jenny Bell, died Wednesday, April 18, 2001, as the result of injuries received in a tragic fire which destroyed the family home on Sylvan Road in Waverly. A funeral service will be held in Faith Baptist Church, 6884 Georgetown Road, Waverly, Va. 23890, on Monday, April 23, 2001, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Lewis Lawson. Burial will follow in Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery, Suffolk. The family will receive friends at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, on Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Donations on behalf of the family may be sent c/o Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, P.O. LaToya Javon Blount of Richmond, departed this life from this side on April 14, 2001. Mourning the loss are her two children, Elizah Shion Blount-Baker, Imani Sade Blount-Baker; mother, Marilyn M. Bland; father, Phillip Moore; sister, Marquita Blount; stepfather, James S. Bland; and a host of devoted relatives and friends. Richard Campbell, 73, a retired Special Agent with the Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms Division of the U.S. Government and a former State Trooper of Mechanicsville, died April 18, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Nellwyn (Betty) B. Campbell; his son, Richard K. (Rick) Campbell and wife, Debbie; three sisters, Margaret C. Brown of Newport News, Judy C. Burton and Linda C. Cross, both of Richmond; three brothers, Dr. Thomas C. Campbell of Richmond, Erwin M. Campbell of Manquin, Va. and Dr. Walker H. Campbell of Goldsboro, N.C. Mr. Campbell was a member of Washington and Henry Lodge No. 344, AF&AM, the Scottish Rite, and a member of the Provost Guard of ACCA Temple Shrine, and a member of VFW Post No. 9808. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd., where a Masonic memorial service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment Signal Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.

CARROLL
Mary Graves Lawford Carroll, age 77, died April 18, 2001. A daughter of the late John Player Lawford and Ruth Ellis Hepner Lawford, she is survived by her husband, J.P. Carroll Jr.; two daughters, Noel Sengel of Alexandria and Robin Smith of Dillwyn; one son, James Carroll III of Richmond; a sister, Jaqueline Lawford Conrad of Richmond; a brother, John Player Lawford II; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Bliley Funeral Home's Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., Friday 7 to 8 p.m., where funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. Entombment in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. CLARKE
Mary Madeline Clarke, 83, of Richmond, died Thursday, April 19, 2001. She is the widow of John W. Clarke Sr. and is survived by her children and their spouses, John Wesley and Hettie Clarke Jr., James Franklin and Linda Clarke, Joan M. and Charles Willis Sr.; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Clarke was a member of Boulevard Baptist Church, a volunteer at HealthSouth Medical Center, and the Piece Goods Manager at the Willow Lawn J.C. Penny for 24 years. The family will receive friends 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd., where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday. Interment Riverview Cemetery.

CLEMENS
Travis Clemens, 29, of Richmond, died on Tuesday, April 17, 2001. He is survived by his daughter, Rheyanna, two and half; his parents, Lee and Brenda Clemens; a sister, Tracy; paternal grandparents, Bill and Lula Clemens; and maternal grandmother, Mary C. Harrison. Travis was the parts manager at Departure Bike Works. Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. on Friday (today) at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the MCV Trauma Center, in care of MCV Foundation, P.O. Box 980234, Richmond, Va. 23298.

CONAWAY
Laura Gregory Conaway, 83, of Gum Spring, Va., passed away April 19, 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman. She is survived by her brother, Robert E. Gregory and his wife, Marian; also devoted nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She was retired from the Federal Reserve Bank. Her remains rest at the Lacy Funeral Home, Rt. 522, Mineral, Va., where the family will receive friends from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21 in Oakland Baptist Church, with interment in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Oakland Baptist Church Building Fund, 2965 Oakland Church Rd., Gum Spring, Va. 23065.

COOK
Randolph Cary Cook departed this life on April 18, 2001. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cary Cook of Covington, Georgia. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Newell Lough Cook; a son, Randolph Cary Cook Jr. of Tucson, Arizona; a daughter, Charlotte Nancy Cook; two stepsons and their wives, Allen and Carol Lough, and Tim and Sue Lough; a brother, Winston Noel Cook and his wife, Mary of Atlanta, Georgia; four grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. He was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean conflict and attained the rank of major in the Air Force. Mr. Cook was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and had been an active Methodist all of his life. There will be a service of remembrance at Trinity United Methodist Church at 12 noon on Saturday, April 21, 2001. Family will receive friends in the parlor immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church.

FLEMING
Franchesca B. Fleming, 62, of Quinton, went to be with the Lord Thursday, April 19, 2001. Funeral notice later. Arrangements are being handled by Nelsen Funeral Home.

FOLTZ
Timothy Alan Foltz, age 60, of Spotsylvania, died April 17, 2001, at his residence. He was a member of Chancellor Baptist Church, Fredericksburg, where he taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. Mr. Foltz was a former member and deacon of Central Baptist Church in Richmond. He was a member of the Antique Car Club in Fredericksburg, the Civil War Roundtable in Richmond, past president of the Richmond Traffic Club, a former member of the Big Brothers of America, coached various youth baseball and football teams in Richmond, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Irene Z. Foltz; three children, Rebecca F. Tillman, Donna F. Young and Timothy J. Foltz; two stepchildren, Maria C. Jackson and John D. Atkinson; one brother, Arthur B. Foltz; and six grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight at Mullins & Thompson Fredericksburg Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 21, 2001, at Chancellor Baptist Church, Fredericksburg, at 10:30 a.m. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fredericksburg. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Attn: Memorials, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
