Arnead J. Martin, 84, of Savannah, Georgia, formerly of Milford died Monday, May 3, 2004 in Savannah. She was the widow of Lloyd Clifton Martin.
Survivors include two sons, Anthony "Terry"Martin of Savannah and Wayne Martin of Milford; three sisters, Dorothy Richardson and Florence Richardson both of Milford and Mary "Rosehill" Jones of Tappahannock; a brother, Samuel"Buck" Johnson of Woodford; and two grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 6, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with Rev. Bill Durrett officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Family cemetery, Alps. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, two hours prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Savannah, Inc., P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, Georgia 31416.

Ruth S. Vanderveld, 99, of Woodford in Caroline County, formerly of Ridgewood, New Jersey died Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at her home. She was the widow of Leonard Vanderveld, Sr. and was a member of Round Oak Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Dr. Leonard Vanderveld of Woodford; four grandchildren; and 11 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, April 29 at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 30, at Olthuis Funeral Home in New Jersey. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 1, in Laurel Grove cemetery, Totowa, New Jersey.
Memorial contributions may be made to Round Oak Baptist Church Building Fund, Box 129, Corbin, Virginia 22446.

William D. "Bill" Keckler, 80, of Woodford died Friday, April 23, 2004 in Mary Washington Hospital. Born in Elmont, he was a member of Bowling Green United Methodist Church and was a Navy veteran of WWII. He had retired as an egg farmer and was affectionately known in the area as the "Egg Man". Before he retired in 1985, he raised and delivered eggs in Stafford and Caroline.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth T. Keckler of Woodford and a cousin, William Patten of North Carolina.
A funeral service will be Monday, April 26 at 11:00 in Bowling Green UMC, with Rev. Terry Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Lakewood cemetery. The family will receive friends at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, Sunday 6:00 - 8:00 PM.

Jack A. Spayd, 61, of Somerville in Fauquier County, died Thursday, April 22, 2004 in Henrico Doctors' Hospital, Richmond. Born in Bowling Green, he had retired after a 20 year career in the US Navy. Following his Navy career, he worked in the trucking industry as a driver and mechanic, most recently with Avery Jones.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Spayd; his parents, Herbert and Dorothy Spayd of Fredericksburg; two children, Lisa Marie Spayd of Dumfries and Samuel Alan Spayd of Norfolk; his granddaughter, Taylor and several cousins.
A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 28, at 2:00 PM in Lakewood cemetery, Bowling Green, with Pastor Daniel J. Daly officiating. The family will receive friends at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, Tuesday 7:00 - 9:00 PM.

Madalean Satterwhite Ernest, 82, of Beaverdam, died Thursday, April 22, 2004 in Henrico Doctors Hospital. She was the widow of W. Lee Ernest and a member of County Line Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons; Carroll Ernest and his wife, Debbie of Ruther Glen and David Ernest of Philadelphia; a sister, Beatrice Samuel of Bowling Green and a grandson, Paul Ernest and his wife, Jennifer of Bowling Green. She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Ernest.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 24 at 2:00 PM in County Line Baptist Church, with Dr. Fred Skaggs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, Friday 7:00 - 9:00 PM.

Perry Brooks, 74, of Bowling Green, died Monday, April 19, 2004. Born in Caroline County, Mr. Brooks was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church, the National Farmers Organization and served as Chairman of the Trustees of Greenlawn cemetery. He also served in the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife, E. B. Brooks; two daughters, Kimberly A. Brooks of Oakland, California and Jacqueline B. Coleman and her husband, Matthew of Bowling Green; a sister, Ellen B. Lineberry of Purcellville; two grandchildren, Benjamin and Madison Coleman; two nieces, Betty B. Morgan of Burke and Melanie B. Guy of Fredericksburg.
A funeral service will be Sunday, April 25 at 2:00 PM in Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with Rev. Kevin James officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday 7:00 - 9:00 PM. Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to Salem Baptist Church Building Fund, General Delivery, Sparta, Virginia 22552.

Wilbert L. "Rottie" Whittaker, 70, of Ruther Glen died Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at his home.
Born in Caroline County, Mr. Whittaker was a member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, a Korean War Army veteran, and a retiree of Pepsi Cola Bottling Company.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia B. Whittaker; eight children, Wilbert L. Whittaker, Jr., Lois Smith, Donna Faye Light, Mark Whittaker, Dennis Whittaker, Christopher Whittaker, Timothy Whittaker and Matthew Whittaker; a brother, Raymond Whittaker;seven grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, William Whittaker.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2004 at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with the Rev. Steve Vacca, the Rev. Claudia Stallings and the Rev. Robb Almy officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 16 at the funeral home.

Alonzo Rodriguez, 73, of Ruther Glen, formerly of Alexandria, died Saturday, April 10, 2004 in Alexandria. Born in Texas, he had retired as a carpenter. He was a member of Wright's Chapel United Methodist Church, where he was active in the Methodist Men's Club and he was a member of the Lake Caroline Beautification Committee. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, woodworking and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Peterson Rodriguez; two daughters, Carmelita Rodriguez of Charlottesville and Maria Peter of Alexandria; four brothers, Manuel, Arturo and Carlos Rodriguez all of Texas; a sister and brother-in- law, Ethel May and Bob Keys of Ohio and two grandchildren, Ryan and Tonya Peter of Alexandria.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 15 at 11:00 AM in Wrights Chapel United Methodist Church, Ladysmith, with Rev. Charles Tillapaugh officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wright's Chapel UMC, P.O. Box 193, Ladysmith, Virginia 22501 or Home Call Hospice Services, Alexandria, Virginia.

Emily June Hughes, 67, of Glen Allen formerly of Bowling Green, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2004, at Bowling Green Health Care Center after a lingering illness.
She was employed by Children, Inc. and was a member of Mechanicsville Church of Christ.
Emily is survived by sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Dr. Ramon R. Panlilio, Katherine Kime and Patricia and Robert Musser; a brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Myra Walsh; aunts, Ruby Brooks Passwaters, Louise Brooks Beazley, Vernelle Brooks Uzzles; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 17, at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with Pastor Mark Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 16, at the funeral home. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Children's, Inc., 1000 Westover Road, Richmond, Virginia 23220; or to Mechanicsville Church of Christ, 8067 Atlee Road, Mechanicsville, Virginia 23111.

Walter L. "Bubba" Satterwhite, 62, of Ruther Glen died Saturday, April 10, 2004, at Mary Washington Hospital. Born in Caroline, he was preceded in death by his father, John Walter Satterwhite and his brother, Ross Satterwhite.
Although he was disabled for many years, he enjoyed camping and golf cart riding.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret D. Satterwhite; his mother, Lucille Mosley of Woodford; four children, Lisa Satterwhite Etherton of Ruther Glen, Robin Jones and her husband, Richard, of Ruther Glen; Walter"Pete" Satterwhite, II and his wife, Angie, of Woodford, and Barbara Guy and her husband, Harry, III "Bubba" of Ruther Glen; two brothers, C. Temple Satterwhite of Woodford and Douglas Satterwhite of Bowling Green and eleven grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 14, at 2 p.m. at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with the Rev. Gerald Rodgers officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Frank Xavier Lussier, IV, 21, of Ruther Glen died Thursday, April 1, 2004 at his residence.
Born in Vermont, he is survived by his mother and step-father, Susan and Raymond Terk of Ruther Glen; his father, Frank X. Lussier, III of Binghamton, New York; a sister, Larken Lacey Lussier of Ruther Glen; and his paternal grandmother, Irene Kelly of Winooski, Vermont.
Frank loved the outdoors and his interest were fishing, hunting, barbecuing and attending family gatherings.
A remembrance service will be held 12 Noon to 4:00 PM on Saturday, April 17th at his parent's home in Lake Caroline, Ruther Glen, Virginia.
The family request memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Attn: Marjorie M. Cramer, 9345 Canvasback Court, Port Royal, Virginia 22535.

Jonathan Leake, was born to Don and Jessica Leake of Caroline County on April 2, 2004. God gives us love. Something to love He lends us.
Survivors include a sister, Ariana Leake; maternal grandparents, Cathy and Dallas Huffman of Fredericksburg and Mac Hopkins of Roanoke; paternal grandparents, Bonnie and Brian Fincher of Spotsylvania; maternal great grandmother, Joyce Crocket of Roanoke; paternal great grandparents, Doris and Ray Leake of Mechanicsville; and numerous aunts and uncles.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 5, at Lakewood Cemeter in Bowling Green, with the Rev. Jim Stone officiating.
