Lawrence Roberts Jr.
Lawrence Roberts Jr., 63, of Richmond, died Thursday, May 22, 2003 at Memorial Regional Hospital, Mechanicsville.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Haskins and Lisa Cousins, both of Richmond; three brothers, Donald Roberts and his wife, Lois, of Louisa and Albert Roberts and his wife, Joyce, and Lorenzo Roberts and his wife, Linda, both of Richmond; three sisters, Olivia Hart and her husband, Welford, Bernice Winston Lindsey and her husband, William, and Madeline Mitchell and her husband, Lester, all of Richmond; five grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Roberts was born December 24, 1939 in Clover.
Johnson Funeral Home, Locust Grove, is handling the arrangements.

Mary K. Sabelhaus
Mary Kathryn “Kate” Sabelhaus, 69, of Spotsylvania, died Monday, May 26, 2003 at her home.
Funeral services, conducted by Father Rodney Rodis, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 30 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Bumpass. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
A reception will follow the service at the church.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 29 with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Spotsylvania Chapel, 9215 Courthouse Road, Spotsylvania.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Anthony “Tony” Sabelhaus; five sons, Philip, Thomas, John, James and Joseph Sabelhaus, all of Maryland; three daughters, Elizabeth Sage of Virginia, Laura Dillinger of Delaware and Mary Jean Greenwell of North Carolina; 19 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; three sisters, Rebecca Malone, and Patricia Crawford, both of Tell City, Indiana and Linda Ludwig of Louisville, Kentucky; and a brother, James Ludwig of Tell City, Indiana.
Mrs. Sabelahus was born in Tell City, Indiana and made her home at Lake Anna.
Prior to her retirement she worked for the Community Ministries of Montgomerry County and was president of the Washington Archdiocese Council of Catholic Women. She also served on the National Board as providence director for the Washington area and was staff coordinator for leadership seminars across the country for the National Council of Catholic Women.
In retirement, she was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, serving as the head of Community Life and as a lector. She belonged to several organizations: Lake Anna Piecemakers Club, President of the Lake Anna Garden Club and the Tanyard Country Club. She was secretary/treasurer of the Homeowners Association and a recent member of the Belmont Club.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Building Fund.

Michael N. Corrigan
Michael Neal Corrigan, 45, of Palmyra, died Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at his residence.
Memorial services, conducted by the Rev. Marion Brown, were held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 16 at the Sheridan Funeral Home Chapel, Kents Store.
He is survived by his mother, Jeanne Greening of Lake Monticello; a daughter, Casey Lynn Corrigan Petz of Sarasota, Florida; a brother, David Hughes Corrigan of Palmyra; and a longtime companion, Roberta Sadler of Arvonia.
Mr. Corrigan was born December 14, 1957 in Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Frederic Corrigan, and a sister, Mary Ann Corrigan.

Mildred N. Counts
Mildred Thelma Nitz Counts, 79, of Mineral, formerly of Tazewell, died Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at an Arlington Virginia hospital.
Funeral services, conducted by Pastor Herb Cadie, were held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 13 at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel, Madison. Interment was in Holy Memorial Gardens, Charlottesville.
She is survived by a son, Vernon Michael Counts and his wife, Karen, of Richmond; five daughters, Nancy Carol Little of Mineral, Judy Lane Yanta and her husband, Bill, of Riverdale, Maryland, Margaret Vernette Obradovic and her husband, Tom, of West River, Maryland, Vickie Fern Hoops and her husband, Allen, of Tazewell, and Rita Hope Counts and her husband, Don Dilks, of Edgewater, Maryland; five grandsons, Timothy and Thomas Johnson, Stacy and Michael Hoops and Ryan Counts; three granddaughters, Mildred Kay Robison, Esther Crescenzi and Christina Conte Cox; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Counts was born November 9, 1923 in Macomas, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Harry and Eula Fern Pennington Nitz. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Vernon Clifton Counts; two brothers, Harry Jr. and Ernest Nitz; two half-brothers, Thomas J. and Walter Ralph Nitz; a sister, Elizabeth Mae Nitz; and a half-sister, Sarah Nitz Crawford.

Mason S. Montgomery
Mason Stephen Montgomery, 90, of Mineral, died Monday, June 16, 2003.
Graveside services, conducted by Dr. John Turner, were held Wednesday, June 18 at Hillcrest cemetery.
He is survived by his daughter, Betty Baine and her husband, Robert Jr., of New Kent; a son, Steve Montgomery and his wife, Dianne, of Louisa; five grandchildren, Bobby Baine and his wife, Kim, Janet Foster and her husband, Danny, Donna Ufer and her husband, Bill, Monty and Gib Montgomery; eight great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Amber and Matthew Baine, Hunter and Joshua Foster, Amanda and Rian Ufer, and Desmond Kane Montgomery; two brothers, Raymond Montgomery and his wife, Evelyn, and Harry Montgomery and his wife, Joyce; five sisters, Evelyn Wilkinson, Florene Keyser, Louise Ashworth, Helen Eaves and Ruby Whitten; and a sister-in-law, Louise Montgomery.
Mr. Montgomery was born December 13, 1912, the son of the late Raymond Desmond and Mabel Dudley Montgomery. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Mildred S. Montgomery; a son, Ronald M. Montgomery; and brother, Elmo Montgomery.
He was a retired owner of Montgomery’s Market in Mineral and a veteran of World War II, United States Marines.
Memorial contributions may be made to Gilboa Christian Church.

Carl F. Schweikle
Carl F. “Todd” Schweikle, 74, of Charlottesville, died Wednesday, June 11, 2003 while fishing near his residence.
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 17 at Fork Union Presbyterian Church, Fork Union.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara Fite Schweikle; his daughter, Gail Schweikle Bashore and her husband, Dr. Randy Bashore, of Fork Union; a son, Brett R. Schweikle and his wife, Kim, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and three grandchildren, Kate Bashore, Luke Bashore and Krista Schweikle.
Mr. Schweikle was born June 30, 1928 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
He resided and worked in Reading, Pennsylvania prior to returning to Port Orange, Florida and Charlottesville.
A proud member of the United States Marine Corps, he graduated from Bucknell University with a bachelor of science degree in finance and was a certified public accountant.
Mr. Schweikle worked at Carpenter Technology Corporation for 30 years, retiring as senior vice president and chief financial officer.

Royce W. Woolfolk
Royce Woodson Woolfolk, 80, of Richmond, formerly of Cuckoo, died Monday, June 16, 2003.
Graveside services will be held Friday, June 20 at Forest Lawn cemetery, Richmond.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jane McGehee Woolfolk; four children, Royce W. Woolfolk Jr., D.D.S. and his wife, Cynthia Creasy, of Richmond, Robert Gerald Woolfolk of Beaverdam, Susan Jane W. Groome and her husband, Michael, of Mineral, and Mary Lewis W. Friesell and her husband, Peter, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, Lauren Nicole, Robert Gerald Pinzola and Micheline Jane Woolfolk, Carrie Susanne, Mary Jane Trice and Royce Hunter Groome, Royce Woodson III and Nicholas Vaughan Curry Woolfolk; and a sister, Gussie Abernathy of Kenbridge.
Mr. Woolfolk was the son of the late Charles and Inez Trice Woolfolk.
He was a World War II veteran, a member of Fraternal Order of Masons and a retired lumberman.

Elton G. Callaham
Elton Gray Callaham, 95, of Richmond, died Thursday, September 18, 2003 at his home.
Funeral services, conducted by Chaplain Karl Netting, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 22 at Woodward Funeral Home, Inc., Louisa. Interment was in Hillcrest cemetery, Louisa.
He is survived by his wife, Mae Rosson Shealor Callaham; two stepdaughters, Faye Shealor Warren, and Monica Shealor Lloyd and her husband, Kenneth; a sister, Nell Saylor of Alexandria; a brother, Claude Callaham of Vermont; seven stepgrandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Callaham was born October 19, 1907 in Lynchburg, the son of the late Rev. Leslie and Nora Callaham. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Grace Shealor Callaham.
He was a veteran of World War II, a lifetime member of VFW #116 and a member of #45 Elk Lodge of Henrico. He was a longtime owner of Callaham Barber Shop for over 34 years in Louisa.

Diron P. Demyers
Diron Pietro Demyers, 24, of White Plains, Maryland, died Friday, September 12, 2003 at his home.
Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Lewis Randolph Yancey, were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, September 20 at Mount Hope Baptist Church, Bumpass. Interment was in the Yancey family cemetery, Bumpass.
He is survived by his parents, Don Pedro and Eunice Yancey Demyers of Fort Washington, Maryland; two siblings, Damon and Donnetta Demyers, both of Maryland; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Thomasson’s Funeral Service, Inc., Louisa, handled the arrangements.
