Mary C. Morris
Mary Bell Campbell Morris, 85, died Thursday, January 19, 2006 at Westminster Canterbury, Charlottesville.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 22 at Louisa Baptist Church. Interment was at Hillcrest cemetery, Louisa.
She is survived by a daughter, Ann Morris Couk and her husband, Dr. David Couk, of Warrenton; two sons, Bill Morris and his wife, Brenda, of Orange, and Ed Morris Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Charlottesville; a brother, Robert S. Campbell of Richmond; seven grandchildren, Boyd Spencer, Edwin Spencer, Jill Spencer Blom, Mary Jordan Spencer, Kristen Morris, Greg Morris and Carol Morris Wilkins; and four great-grandchildren, Coleman Blom, Grayson Spencer, Reid Wilkins and Cori Wilkins.
Mrs. Morris was born October 31. 1920 in Wilmington in Fluvanna County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin H. Morris.
She lived in Fluvanna and Louisa counties until moving to Westminster Canterbury in October 1990.

Pauline M. Richardson
Pauline Melton Richardson, 94, of Palmyra, died Monday, January 23, 2006 at Ruxton Health Care, Fork Union.
Graveside services, conducted by the Rev. Tim Hill, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 26 at Salem United Methodist Church cemetery.
She is survived by a son, William C. Richardson and his wife, Betty, of Palmyra; a brother, T.C. Melton and his wife, Neva, of Highland Springs; two grandchildren, Curtis Lee and Hope; and four great-grandchildren, Cameron, Hannah, Mason and Owen.
Mrs. Richardson was born April 8, 1911 in Fluvanna County, the daughter of the late William Russell and Mary Faris Melton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Richardson.
Memorial contributions may be made to to the Fluvanna County Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 96, Palmyra, VA 22963.
Sheridan Funeral Home, Kents Store, handled the arrangements.

William H. Taylor
William H. Taylor, 73, died Monday, January 16, 2006.
Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Wade Richmond, were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 21 at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Montpelier. Interment was in Spring Memorial Gardens in Mineral.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys; six daughters, Shirley Dandridge, Deloise Coles and her husband, the Rev. J. Leo, Gaylon Hiter and her husband, Henry, Gladys Marie Taylor, Bessie James and her husband, Melvin and Gaile Yancey; two sons, William Jr. and James Taylor; five step-daughters, Fannie Shelton and her husband, George, Lucille Shelton, Shirley Henson, Carrie Yancey and Christine Mack and her husband, Reggie; five step-sons, Charles Houchens, Robert Yancey and his wife, Joyce, Thomas Yancey and his wife, Lori, Griffent Yancey and his wife, Joy, and Rev. Joseph Yancey; three sisters, Lucinda Mason, Amanda Coles and Nannie Thomas; two brothers, Arthur Taylor and his wife, Gracie and Autro Taylor; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 27 step-grandchildren; 18 step-great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Ethel Wattie; sister-in-law, Frances Townsend; two brothers-in-law, Sherman and Ollie Wattie; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins; and devoted friends Malcolm West, Samuel and Charlie Jackson, Everette Yancey, Fannie and Linda Johnson.
Mr. Taylor was born October 2, 1933, the son of the late Arthur and Nannie Smith Taylor. A brother, James Taylor, also preceded him in death.
He attended Louisa County Public Schools and was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and Louisa Lodge 113. He worked at a number of logging businesses and retired from the Louisa County School System in1996.
Thomasson Watson Funeral Service, Inc., Louisa, handled the arrangements.

Walter C. Virkler
Walter C. Virkler, 88, of Bumpass, died Saturday, January 14, 2006.
As per his wishes, no funeral service will be held.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Isabelle R. Virkler; his children, Sandra J. Selberis of Bumpass, and Douglas C. Virkler and his wife, Clara, of Vermont; his grandchildren, John C. Virkler of Florida, Kara R. Selberis of Chicago, Illinois, and William H. Selberis Jr. of Rockville; his former son-in-law, William H. Selberis Sr. of Rockville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Virkler was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Virkler; his sister, Marion Perry; and his granddaughter, Lia R. Selberis.
Upon retirement from the REA Express 28 years ago, he and his wife moved from their home state of New York to Louisa County.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.

Patricia B. White
Patricia Bowers White, 76, of Lake Monticello, died Wednesday, January 18, 2006 in Charlottesville.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Friday, January 20 at Palmyra United Methodist Church. Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 21 at Elmwood cemetery, Norfolk.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Luther W. White; four childern and their families, Luther and Lisa White of Richmond and their children, Henley and Logan, John and Lila White of Richmond and their children, Elizabeth and Sarah Grace, Billy and Nell White King of Norfolk and their children, Billy, Jack, Tricia and Frances, and Steve and Mari White Smallshaw of Lynchburg and their children, Wes, Rick, Charles and James; her brothers, the Rev. Thomas D. Bowers and Cdr. (USN, Ret.) John P. Bowers and their families; and her sister-in-law, Mary Jane Brinson Bowers.
Mrs. White was born May 19, 1929 in Norfolk, the daughter of the late George Hubert Bowers and Nellie Dix Bowers. She was also preceded in death by a brother, George H. Bowers Jr.
She graduated from Granby High School and Hollins College in Roanoke and taught in Norfolk public schools, the George School of Newtown, Pennsylvania, and at Dana Hall in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
When her husband became president of Randolph-Macon College and later Kentucky Wesleyan College, Mrs. White devoted herself for 21 years to her duties as First Lady of those colleges.
She was involved in the PTAs of her children’s schools, an officer of the Junior League of Norfolk and a member of the Symphony Auxiliary in Norfolk and Owensboro.
In 1988, she and her husband retired to Lake Monticello, where she soon founded the Lake Monticello Beautification Corps.
She served for over six years on the Lake Monticello Association Board and many more years on lake committees.
Mrs. White was active in the United Methodist Church, serving as president of the United Methodist Women in all the cities she resided. She was also an active participant and longtime officer in the Fluvanna Christian Service Society.

Larry L. Wilson
Larry Lee Wilson, 73, of Louisa County, died Sunday, January 22, 2006.
Funeral services were held at noon, Wednesday, January 25 at Bliley Funeral Homes’ Staples Mill Chapel. Interment was at Riverview cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Irene C. Wilson; his children, James, Carolyn and her husband, John Harris, Brian and his wife, Cary, and Lee; his grandchildren, Jamie, Eric, Gage, Zachary, Joni, Sarah, Matthew, Amy and Whitney; and his brother, Jeff and his wife, Teresa, of Bluefield, West Virginia.
Mr. Wilson was the son of the late Noble H. “Red” and Dorothy D. Wilson.
He was a United States Air Force veteran and a retired sales representative for Bessire and Company. He was a member of Fork Baptist Church.

George P. Harris
George Palmer Harris, 85, of Bumpass, died Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at his residence.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 11 at Elk Creek Baptist Church, Bumpass.
He is survived by his son, Robert Harris and his wife, Jo, of Florida; two daughters, Carolyn Harris Bivens and her husband, Henderson, of Ashland, and Sally Harris Aungier and her husband, Mike, of Powhatan; a brother, W. T. Harris of Pendleton; five grandchildren, Lydia Marsh, Debbie Heatherley, Carol Haeck and Robert Harris, all of Florida, and Gregory W. Marrett Jr. of Mechanicsville; ten great-grandchildren, Ryan, Brooke, Grant, Allie, Zoe, Zack, Hannah, Haley Blue, Drake and Tiffany; a number of nieces and nephews; and a good friend, Dave Stevens.
Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his wife, Madeline Picco Harris; a brother, E.N. Harris Jr.; and a sister, Nancy Sjostrum.
He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army as a corpsman. He was a lifelong member of Elk Creek Baptist Church and retired as a construction worker.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Louisa County Rescue Squad or a charity of choice.

Stephanie M. Windle
Stephanie Marie Windle, 20, of Bumpass, died Monday, January 30, 2006.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, February 4 at Oakland Baptist Church, Gum Spring.
She is survived by her father, Stephen Windle and his wife, Anne; her mother, Darlene Windle and her boyfriend, Thad Pylinksi; a sister, Samantha Windle; her grandparents, Mary Windle and Barbara West; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
