James S. Clark
A funeral for James Stacy Clark, 34, of Linden, Tenn., formerly of Martinsville, who died Dec. 23, 2005, was held Tuesday at Moody Funeral Home chapel in Stuart. Pastor Doug Ramsey officiated. Burial was in Stateline Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Shane Taylor, Gary Locklear, Randy Young, Sam Rakes, Scott Spencer, Lee Spencer and Micah Rakes.
Thelma C. Gilbert
Thelma Mae Clark Gilbert, 89, formerly of 920 Chestnut St., Fieldale, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, at Lynchburg Health and Rehab Center.
She was born in Danville on Sept. 24, 1916, to Benjamin H. Clark and Velma Perdue Clark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Turner Lee Gilbert; and a great-granddaughter, Christina Marie Brendle.
She was a member of Big A Church of Christ of Stuart.
Surviving are a son, Michael Lee Gilbert of Lynchburg; a brother, Billy Clark of Eden, N.C.; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. John Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends for one hour before the funeral on Thursday.

James R. Greene
A funeral for James Robert Greene, 61, of Martinsville, who died Dec. 20, 2005, was held Tuesday at Hairston Funeral Home chapel with Bishop Cornell Waller officiating. Burial was in A & H Cemetery in Martinsville.
Pallbearers were Tony Bradley, Dennis Bradley, Chris Bradley, Jerry Bradley, John Bradley, Tyrone Bradley, Charles Bradley and Jerry France.
Wesley F. Jackson
Wesley Franklin Jackson, 83, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005, at the Blue Ridge Rehab Center in Martinsville.
He was born in Washington, D.C. on May 16, 1922, and was the last surviving member of the Jackson family. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes C. Percy Jackson; and a daughter, Mary Lou Jackson K. Miller.
He served in the Navy from 1943 to 1946 during World War II, and served three years in the Reserves on Fleet Airwing 3 in Panama.
Surviving are four grandchildren in Virginia and seven in Georgia; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Anna Lash
A graveside service for Anna Lash, 74, of 12801 Henry Road, Henry, who died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway. The Rev. J.D. Harmon will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Collins Funeral Services in Bassett.
She was born in Manhattan, N.Y., on Jan. 9, 1931, to Rosa Munet. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Lash.
She retired in 1984 from Lerners Inc. as a computer programmer and analyst.
Surviving are her daughter, Virginia Curcio of Henry; a son, Joe Crespo of Bassett; a stepson, William
Green of Columbia, S.C.; three granddaughters; a grandson; and four great-grandchildren.
Robert B. McCutcheon
Robert Bruce McCutcheon, 85, of 1014 Mulberry Road, Martinsville, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
He was born in Boston on Oct. 28, 1920, to Kenneth Delano McCutcheon and Margaret Wilson McCutcheon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Bruce McCutcheon Jr.
He graduated from Lawrence Academy in Groton, Conn., and received a college degree from Washington and Lee University, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
He served as a lieutenant in the Armed Forces during World War II and also as a pilot in the Army Air Corps. During this time, his plane was shot down over Germany and he became a prisoner of war. Among his decorations was the Purple Heart.
He was a sales agent for the Menasha Corporation for many years before retiring. A longtime resident of Martinsville, McCutcheon was a member of the Martinsville Kiwanis Club, a charter member of the Elks Club, a scoutmaster and an active member of Christ Episcopal Church.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Finley Schottland McCutcheon; two daughters, May Finley McCutcheon Hawfield of Chicago and Margaret Wilson McCutcheon of New York, N.Y.; and two sons, Nicholas Schottland McCutcheon of Atlanta and Archibald Henry Schottland McCutcheon of Greensboro, N.C.
The funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Christ Episcopal Church with the Rev. Dr. Ellen Hanckel officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Ora L. Riggs
A memorial service for Ora Lavada Riggs, 62, of 3786 Chestnut Knob Road, Ridgeway, who died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville, will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Church of Christ on Daniels Creek Road, Collinsville. Minister David Epler will officiate. Burial will be private.
She was born in West Virginia on Nov. 16, 1943.
Surviving are her husband, Roger Riggs of the home; two sons, Ron Riggs of Maiden, N.C. and Rodney Riggs of Maryland; and five grandchildren.

Marjorie C. Stanley
The funeral for Marjorie Clark Stanley, 84, of 250 King's Way Road, Martinsville, who died Dec. 26, 2005, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stanleytown United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dr. Tilden Bridges and the Rev. Paul
Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Martinsville.

Barbara B. Wimbush
The funeral for Barbara Barbour Wimbush, 70, of 280
Smith Road, Bassett, who died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Oak Hill Cathedral of Glory with the Rev. Charles Alston officiating. Burial will be in Carver Memorial Gardens.
Friends will be received for one half hour before the funeral on Thursday and other times at the home of a daughter, Faye Taylor, 75 Mobile Manor Drive, Martinsville.
She was born in Henry County on April 21, 1935, to James Ralph Barbour and Sadie Prunty Barbour. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo E. Wimbush; and a brother, Wess Barbour.
She retired from Stanley Furniture Co., where she worked for 25 years. She was a member of Oak Hill Cathedral of Glory in Bassett.
Surviving are two daughters, Faye Taylor of Martinsville and Veronica Gregory of Bassett; two sons, Larry D. Wimbush and Elmo A. Wimbush, both of Bassett; two sisters, Joe Anne Wimbush and Fannie Wells, both of Bassett; four brothers, James H. Barbour of Fieldale, Jonah T. Barbour and Curtis Barbour, both of Bassett and Billy Barbour of Richmond; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
