Lewis Knable 73
Lewis C. "Lew" Knable, 73, of King George County died Saturday, July 15, 2000, at Virginia Medical Center in Richmond.
Born in Pennsylvania, Mr. Knable was a manager of Interstate Texaco in Fredericksburg, an Army veteran and an avid fisherman and hunter. He attended Mountain View Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy "Chappell" Knable; a daughter, Patsy Mills of Hagerstown, Md., a brother, Joe Knable of Hagerstown, Md., 13 stepchildren, 29 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral will be held Thursday at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Leroy Tennison officating.
The family will receive friends an hour before the service at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Mary Washington Hospice, 2217 Princess Anne St., Fredericksburg, Va. 22401, or to the charity of your choice.

Margaret B. Beatty 81
Margaret B. Beatty, 81, of Colonial Beach, formerly of alexandria, died Saturday, July 22, 2000, in Colonial Beach.
Mrs. Beatty was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Women of the Moose in Colonial Beach anf the Order of the Eastern Star in Alexandria.
She was the widow of James William Beatty.
Survivors include three daughters, Paulette Worrell of Colonial Beach, Linda Machino of Stafford and Pamela B. Childers of Colonial Beach; a son, Air Force Maj. William Duane Beatty of Schertz, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held Tuesday, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home in Colonial Beach. The Rev. Willard Bowen officiated and burial was in Historyland Memorial Park in King George.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Colonial Beach Rescue Squad, 225 Dennison St., Colonial Beach, Va. 22443; or to the Oak Grove Vol. Fire Dept., Box 1310, Oak Grove, Va. 22443.

Margaret Lowery 87
Margaret Palmer Lowery, 87, of Montross died at her home on Friday, Aug. 4, 2000.
Mrs. Lowery worked for 58 years at Peoples Drug Store in Montross, a business founded in 1934 by her late husband, Walter Norris Lowery.
She was one of the first two women to serve on the MOntross Town Council. For many years, she chaired the Westmoreland County Bloodmobile.
Mrs. Lowery was a member of St. James Episcal Church and a former member of the George Washington Birthplace National Memorial Society of Daughters of the American Revolution and the Westmoreland Garden Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Lowery Burner of Montross; a son, Walter Palmer Lowery of Newport News; a brother, John Gresham Palmer of Merry Point, Va.; a sister, Louise Palmer Jesse of Lively, Va.; and four grandsons.
A funeral was held Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, at St. James Episcopal Church. The Rev. Prentice Kinser III, interim rector, officiated and burial followed at Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery.
The family askes that experssions of sympathy take the form of contributions to St. James Cemetery Fund, Box 351, Montross, Va. 22520; or Andrew Chapel Cemetery Fund, Box 574, Montross, Va. 22520.

Mary E. Wilkerson 79 years
Mary E. Wilkerson
Mary E. Wilkerson, 79, of Colonial Beach died Tuesday, July 11, 2000, at Inova Fairfax Hospital.
Born in Alexandria, Mrs. Wilkerson was a former resident of Arlington and had lived in Colonial Beach since 1972.
She had retired from civil service at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division.
Mrs. Wilkerson was active at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Colonial Beach. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10574 Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary in Coloinal Beach and the Women of the Moose in Colonial Beach.
Survivors include her husband, Woody Wilkerson; two sons, Charles E. Wilkerson of Culpeper and Herbert L. Wilkerson of Warrenton; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Merrill Lomax 79
A funeral for Merrill W. Lomax, 79, of King George County was held Saturday, Aug. 5th, at Cedell Brooks Funeral Home, Port Royal. The Rev. L.G. Bland officiate and burial was in Salem Baptist Church cemetery at Jersey.
Mr. Lomax died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at Mary Washington Hospital after a long illness.
Born at Shiloh, he worked as a farm laborer and was a member of Salem Baptist Church. He was the widower of Beulah Lomax.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.

Peggy C. Rowzee 66
Peggy C. Rowzee, 66, of Colonial Beach died Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Born in Pulaski, Tenn., Mrs. Rowzee was a former McLean resident. She was a legal secretary and a member of the Potomac River Yacht Club.
She is survived by her husband, George M. Rowzee; a daughter, Pamela Rowzee Clem of Sterling; a son, Steven G. Rowzee of Fredericksburg; and six grandchildren.
A funeral was held Saturday, July 22, at the home of David and Annette Comer in Colonial Beach.
Nash & Slaw Funeral Home in Colonial Beach handled the arrangements.

Phyllis Ann Lincoln 68
Phyllis Ann Lincoln, 68, of Colonial Beach died Sunday, July 16, 2000, at her home.
Born in Fauquier County, Mrs. Lincoln was a former Morrisville, Va. resident. She was a retired bookkeeper for J.E. Hurley & Co. in Hyattsville, Md. She was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Bealton, Va., and of the American Legion in Indian Head, Md. She was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary in Waldorf, Md.; Marine Corps League in Indian Head, Md.; VFW National Home in Eaton Rapids, Mich.; Women of the Moose in Vienna, Va.; and Women's Auxiliary to the military Order of the Cootie. In addition, she was a charter member of the Colonial Beach Museum.
Her survivors include her husband, Frank E. Lincoln, Jr.; three daughters, Belinda Leapley of Newberg, Md.,Darleen Tulin of Waldorf, Md., and Deanna Lee of Spotsylvania; three sons, Steve Lawrey of Port Tobacco, Md., David McBroom of Culpeper and Frank E. Lincoln III of Glen Burnie, Md.; two sisters, Doris Day of Vienna, and Joan Crisp of Spotsylvania; a brother, Mitchell Jacobs of Sumerduck; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held Thursday, July 20, at Arehart Funeral Home in LaPlata, Md. Burial was in Trinity Memorial Garden in Waldorf.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, Box 911, Dahlgren, Va. 22448; or VFW National Home for Children, 3573 South Waverly Rd., Eaton Rapids, Mich., 2248827.

Sarah V. Harris 72
A funeral for Sarah V. Harris, 72, of Dahlgren was held Monday, July 31, 2000, at Little Ark Baptist Church, Owens. The Rev. Ben Jones officiated and burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Harris died at her residence Tuesday, July 25, 2000, after a long illness.
Born at Edgehill, she was a member of Little Ark Baptist Church and was the widow of Theodore Harris.
Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Pryor of Owens, Deborah Brooks of Dahlgren and Delarese Hemsley of King George; four sons, Theodore Harris Jr. and Carl Harris, both of King George County, Bernard Harris and Kelvin Harris, both of Dahlgren; two sisters, Irma Jackson of Owens and Alberta Tyler of Colorado; 14 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

Skeeter Coyle 79 years
James W. "Skeeter" Coyle, 79, of Montross died of a heart attack June 28, at his home.
Born in Gaffney, S. C., Mr. Coyle was an Army veteran, having served in Italy. His first coaching job began in 1948 at Mount Vernon High School, and he taught at Fairfax High School. At Annandale High School in 1962, he was appointed athletic director, Northern Virginia's first. He retired in 1977 and moved to Montross.
A member of the Episcopal Church, he enjoyed community volunteer work, fishing, football and all sports.
Survivors include his son, Jonathan Coyle, of Georgia, David Coyle, of Herndon, Va., and Joseph Coyle, of Vienna, va., and four grandchildren.
A funeral was held Monday, July 3, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Montross. Burial is in the church cemetery.
