Lillian Beatrice Graham 100 years
Lillian Beatrice Graham, 100, of King George County died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001, at Heritage Hall Health Care in King George. Born in Richmond, Mrs. Graham had worked as a seamstress for the federal government and was the widow of Raleigh Graham. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held last Saturday in Mount Lawn Cemetery. The Rev. S.W. Kendell officiated. C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Bowling Green, handled the arrangements.

Marie S. Ford 98 years
Marie S. Ford, 98, of King George County died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at Hughes Home in Fredericksburg. A King George native, Mrs. Ford was the widow of Ernest Wesley Ford. Survivors include several nieces, including Joanne Coleman of Richmond, Ky; five nephews, Norman Campbell of King George, with whom she made her home briefly, Allen Suttle of Chincoteague, Robert Suttle of Vienna, Edwin Suttle of Burgess and Donald Markwith of Colonial Beach. Mrs. Ford was the mother of the late Ernest Wesley Ford Jr. A graveside service was held Saturday in National Memorial Park, Falls Church. The Rev. Dennis Newton officiated. Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, handled the arrangements.

James Barnes Drummond 61 years
James Barnes Drummond, 61, of Colonial Beach died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at Mary Washington Hospital. Born and raised in Colonial Beach, Mr. Drummond had retired as a pipe-fitter foreman with the District of Columbia Department of Corrections prison in Lorton. He was an active member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, where he served on the building and grounds committee, worked in the vacation Bible school, and was an usher. Mr. Drummond was a Navy veteran. Survivors include his wife, Joan Dickinson Drummond; two brothers, Dorsey Jehu Drummond Jr. of Mount Holly and David Franklin Drummond of Colonial Beach; a sister, Elizabeth Jean Jenkins of Colonial Beach; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral was held Thursday at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Burial was in Historyland Memorial Park in King George County. The Rev. Willard D. Bowen officiated. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Colonial Beach Rescue Squad, 225 Dennison St., Colonial Beach, Va. 22443; or to the Oak Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 8096 Leedstown Road, Colonial Beach, Va. 22443. Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, Colonial Beach, handled the arrangements.

Kevin L. Williams 24
Kevin L. Williams, 24, of King George County died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002, in Maryland, as the result of an automobile accident.
A funeral was held Friday, Sept. 20, at Weldon-Fisher Funeral Home in Nomini Grove. Burial was in the Tolson family cemetery in Montross.

David Wilson Williams, Sr. 78
David Wilson Williams Sr., 78, of Milford died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Richmond. He was the father of Danny L. Williams of King George County.
Other survivors include his wife of 55 years, Madeline F. Williams; two other sons, David W. Williams Jr. of Forest Heights, Md., and Robert E. Williams of Boston, Mass.; five daughters, Jacqueline W. Gray of Bowling Green, Ada M.W. Ferguson of Hanover, Janice W. Johnson of Ruther Glen, Sandra D. Williams of Milford and Audrey C. Williams of Fayetteville, N.C.; seven grandsons; 10 granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held Saturday, Sept. 28, at 2 p.m. at St. Stephens Baptist Church, Central Point. Interment will be in the Fortune family Cemetery, Dodge City Road, Bowling Green. The Rev. William Gibson will officiate.
The body may be viewed Friday, Sept. 27, from noon until 7 p.m. at Washington Funeral Home, Tappahannock, and one hour before the service Saturday at the church.

Orville William Teter 81
Orville William "Bill" Teter, 81, of Fredericksburg died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, at Mary Washington Hospital. He was the father of Susan Barrett of King George County.
Mr. Teter had worked as construction superintendent for several area builders. He was a Navy veteran having served during World War II and was an All American Commander with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3103 from 1995 to 1996. He also served twice as post commander. He was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church.
In addition to his daughter of King George, Mr. Teter is survived by two sons, Michael Teter and Phillip Teter, both of Fredericksburg; another daughter, Sandra Weaver of Marshall; a brother, Russell Teter Jr. of Bridgewater; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Covenant Funeral Service in Fredericksburg. Burial was in Historyland Memorial Park in King George. Chaplain Albert C. Rodgers officiated.
Memorials may be made to White Oak Rescue Squad, 535 White Oak Road, Fredericksburg, Va. 22405, or to the White Oak Volunteer Fire Department, 12 Newton Road, Falmouth, Va. 22405.

Henry Lee Peyton 78
Henry Lee Peyton, 78, of Colonial Beach died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Born in King George County, Mr. Peyton worked as a laborer and was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church in King George. He was a World War II Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Peyton; a niece and caregiver, Lilliemae Tate of Colonial Beach; two sisters, Clara Smith of Colonial Beach and Mary Louise Jackson of Montclair, N.J.
A funeral was held Friday, Sept. 20, at Lee Funeral Home in King George. Burial was in Historyland Memorial Park in King George. The Rev. Robert J. Williams Jr. officiated.

Maxine A. Macauley 88
Maxine A. Macauley, 88, of King George County died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002, after a long illness.
Mrs. Macauley, a registered nurse, was the widow of B.J. Macauley, M.D. Dr. and Mrs. Macauley were longtime residents of Doniphan and Poplar Bluff, Mo.
She is survived by a son living in King George and two grandchildren, also living in Virginia.
Burial will be in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Sara F. Crary 97
Sara F. Crary, 97, of Colonial Beach died Friday, Sept. 20, 2002, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Born in Asheville, N.C., she was a homemaker. She was the widow of Roy E. Crary.
Survivors include two daughters, Sarah Ruth Blank of Bowie, Md. and Eleanor M. Caruthers of Colonial Beach; five grandchildren; eight great-granchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held Monday, Sept. 23, in Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, Md.
Memorial contributions may be made to Colonial Beach Rescue Squad, 225 Dennison St., Colonial Beach, Va. 22443.
Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, Colonial Beach, handled arrangements.

Catherine A. Braun 98
Catherine A. Braun, 98, of King George County died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, at Heritage Hall. She had been a resident there for the past year.
Mrs. Braun was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard W. Braun Sr., and her son, Bernard W. Braun Jr.
She is survived by one daughter, Catherine A. Carpenter of Orange Park, Fla.; five grandchildren, Melvin R. Carpenter IV of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Bernard W. Braun III of Richmond, and Carl C. Braun, Stephen M. Braun and Elizabeth Ann Braun, all of Fredericksburg; and one great-grandchild, Carl C. Braun II.
Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Indianapolis, Ind.
