F. HAINES WINN

LANCASTER, N.H. -- F. Haines Winn, 90, of Country Village Nursing Home died March 9, 2001, at Weeks Hospital. As a Born Again Christian, he has gone home to be with the Lord.

He was born in Piermont, N.H. March 25, 1910, son of Hiram and Hope (Morse) Winn. He was a former resident of Piermont, Monroe, Woodsville and Lancaster, N.H. Mr. Winn was a 1927 graduate of Haverhill Academy and ran the family dairy farm on River Road in Piermont until 1955, when he became a route salesman for Cushman & Sunbeam Bakeries and IBA Farm Supplies.

He later devoted much of his time and received numerous awards for his contributions towards area senior services, and his volunteer services in driving people to appointments.

He was a member of the Lancaster Colonel Town Senior Center, AARP, the Newbury Bible Church, Newbury, Vt. and the Calvary Baptist Church, Lancaster, N.H.

He was predeceased by his wife, Verne Winn on March 31, 1985, one daughter, Violet Fenoff, Whitefield, N.H., and one sister, M. Katherine Woodbury, Claremont, N.H.

He is survived by his companion, Jean Kenison, Lancaster, N.H.; four sons, Roland H. Winn and wife Audrey, Bow, N.H., Gerald H. Winn and wife Mona, Littleton, N.H., John E. Winn and wife Donna, Georgia, Vt., and Donald J. Winn and wife Maureen, Nashua, N.H.; one daughter, Velma R. Burke, Claremont, N.H.; 17 grandchildren, 21great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours were on Sunday, March 11, 2001, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, N.H.

A memorial service was held Sunday, March 11, 2001, at 7 p.m. in the Calvary Baptist Church, 14 Canal Street, Lancaster, N.H., the Rev. David Ricker officiated.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 12, 2001, at 11 a.m. at the Ricker Funeral Home, Woodsville with Rev. Joseph Rinaldi of the Newbury Bible Church, Newbury, Vt. officiating.

Burial in the Ladd Street Cemetery, Haverhill, N.H. will be held at the convenience of the family in the spring.

It is requested by the family that flowers be omitted and that memorials be made in his memory to the Calvary Baptist Church, c/o David Ricker, 14 Canal Street, Lancaster, NH 03584 or to the Newbury Bible Church, c/o Joseph Rinaldi, 16 Cross Street, Newbury, VT 05051.

Ricker Funeral Home, Woodsville are in charge of arrangements.

WHEELER ROY McFADDEN

RICHFORD -- Wheeler Roy McFadden, age 62, died Wednesday evening, March 7, 2001, at Verdelle Village ECF in St. Albans.

He was born March 21, 1938 in Richford, the son of the late Roy & Ruth (Wheeler) McFadden.

Wheeler was employed at the U.S. Post Office in Richford. He was still a member of the APWU at the time of his death. Wheeler fought a 30 plus year battle with Multiple Sclerosis, which caused him to retire in 1977. He married Helen Frazier of Enosburg Falls on Feb. 25, 1967 and a son, Albert was born to them November of the same year. They resided in Richford most of their lives. Wheeler moved to Brownway Residence in Enosburg after the passing of his wife in April of 1998.

He is survived by a son and his wife, Albert & Tricia McFadden; two grandchildren, Kraig and Karissa McFadden, all of Franklin; a sister Judy McFadden of Highgate; a brother, David McFadden and his companion Rachel White of Alburg; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Helen (Frazier) McFadden.

Friends and relatives may call on the family one hour prior to the funeral which will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home on 96 Dickinson Ave. in Enosburg Falls. Interment will follow in the West Enosburg Cemetery.

BLAINE R. PERRY-TATRO

RICHFORD -- Blaine R. Perry-Tatro, age 61, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2001, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.

He was born July 22, 1939 in Richford, the son of the late Earl & Tessie (Brooks) Perry. He was employed at the Richford Bobbin Mill, McAllisters Lumber Mill, Richford Hockey Stick Factory, Q.S.T. in St. Albans, Swanton Foundry, Skoozies in East Berkshire, he logged for many years for the Peters Brothers, and Operated B.T.s Custom Sharp All in St. Albans. He was an avid fisherman and loved hunting, and in his spare time he refinished furniture at his home. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his very devoted and best friend of 27 years, Laura D. Ives of Richford; three daughters, Lisa Poquette and her husband Jeffrey of Richford, Michelle Paradee and her husband Roy of Fairfax, and Stacey Johnson of Richford; seven grandchildren; eight stepchildren, Bonnie Paquette of Milton, Ronald Ives of Keene, N.H., Linda Garrette of Bakersfield, Thomas Ives of St. Albans, Steven Ives of Sheldon, Diana Pilon and her husband Terry of Franklin, Randy Ives of Alberguerque, N.M., and Brian Ives of Richford; 10 stepgrandchildren, including his special fishing buddy, Joshua Ives of Milton; four sisters, Rose Cadieux of Georgia, Frances Bartlett of West Berkshire, Diane Bigelow of Sanford, N.C., and Shirley Perry of Williamsport, Pa.; one brother, Bruce Perry of Florida; a very special cousin, Albert Perry of Richford; several nieces and nephews.

Friends and relatives may call on the family Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. with a memorial service starting at 8 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home on 140 Main St. in Richford. Interment will be held later this spring in the St. Albans Bay Cemetery.

WILMA F. DOMINA

MONTGOMERY CENTER -- Wilma F. Domina, age 89, died Tuesday evening March 6, 2001, at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.

She was born Jan. 19, 1912 in Montgomery, the daughter of the late William & Ellen (Lumbra) Donna.

For the past seven years she made her home with her daughter in Montgomery Center. She was a former resident of Highgate and from the period of 1974 to 1986 she spent winters in Orange City, Fla. and summers in So. Hero. She was employed at Lamoille Union High School, Atlas Plywood in Morrisville, IBM in Essex, Jay Peak Ski Resort and Stowe Ski Resort. She enjoyed arts & crafts and playing cards.

She is survived by three sons, Douglas Domina and his wife Christine of No. Troy, Roger Domina and his wife Bonnie of Catlettsburg, Ky., and Lee Domina of Franklin; four daughters, Charlotte Mercy of Montgomery Center, Theresa Tibbits of Swanton, Betty Pudvah and her husband Hibbard of Swanton, and Brenda Montani and her husband Frank of So. Hero; one sister, Olive Deuso of East Berkshire; 37 grandchildren, 67 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Harry Domina Jan. 21, 1987; one brother, Archie Donna; five sisters, Dorothy Everett, Eunice Smith, Bernice Deuso, Doris Robitaille and Linnie Mercy; three grandchildren, William Mercy, Mark Tibbits and Gail Kinney.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11 a.m. at St. Isidore's Catholic Church in Montgomery Center with Rev. Frank Eksterowicz celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be later this spring in St. Isidore's Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home on 96 Dickinson Ave. in Enosburg Falls.

RAYMOND W. McNALL

FAIRFAX -- Raymond W. McNall, age 90, a lifelong resident of Fairfax passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 6, 2001, at the Holiday House Nursing Home in St. Albans. He was born at the family farm in Fairfax on Feb. 21, 1911, the son of the late Ralph and Maud (Wilkes) McNall. He graduated from Bellows Free Academy - Fairfax in 1930. On June 6, 1934 Raymond married Vera I. Nicholls in East Fairfield. For ten years Mr. & Mrs. McNall farmed on Bartlett Hill in Cambridge. In 1944 they moved to the McNall homestead in Fairfax and he became the third generation to operate the family farm, established by his grandparents, George & Lucinda McNall. In 1973 their son and daughter-in-law, Ralph & Patricia took over the operation. Raymond had served in Fairfax as a selectman, school director, justice of the peace, and school bus driver. He was a member of the United Church of Fairfax, Fairfax Friendly Neighbor Senior Citizens, active member of the Fairfax Historical Society, Franklin County 4-H Foundation, Farm Bureau, District Supervisor of the Franklin County Soil Conservation, the former Fairfax Grange 525, charter member of Fairfax County Fair and president of the Fairfax Plains Cemetery Association. Raymond enjoyed working the farm, attending to his vegetables and gladioli gardens and maple sugaring.

He is survived by four children and their spouses, Marjory & Albert Gherardi Jr. of So. Burlington, Ralph & Patricia McNall of Fairfax, Susan & Earl Stanley of Franklin, Marian & Merrill Cleveland of Lyndonville, one sister, Beatrice Bessette of St. Albans; twelve grandchildren, Carol Decker and husband Jim Trihy of Stowe, Vt., Diane and Paul Blais of So. Burlington, Lucinda and Wright Preston of Richmond, Vt., Michael and Cheryl McNall of Tampa, Fla., Glenn and Karen McNall of Fairfax, James and Amy McNall of Colchester, David and Rebecca McNall of Fairfax, Wayne and Brenda Stanley of Franklin, Vt., Mark and Michelle Stanley of Enosburg Falls, Vt., Lois and Bob Thibault of Newfane, Vt., Tina and Jeff Thresher of Wheelock, Vt., Jeffrey Cleveland of Lyndonville, Vt., 20 great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Ruth Nicholls of Plattsburgh, N.Y., a brother-in-law, Everett Nicholls and his wife Mary of Zellwood, Fla., several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Vera (Nicholls) McNall and a grandson, Ted McNall.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, March 9, 2001, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Hayes-Rich Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2001, at 1 p.m. in the United Church of Fairfax with the Reverend Elizabeth Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot in Fairfax Plains Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Church of Fairfax, c/o Sally Sweet, Treasurer, RR 2, East Fairfield, VT 05448 or Fairfax Plains Cemetery Association, c/o Pat McNall, Treasurer, 996 Main St., Fairfax, VT 05454. HILDA MARY GAREY

GEORGIA SHORE -- Hilda M. Garey, 76, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday morning, March 6, 2001. She was born in Cady's Falls, Vt. Aug. 9, 1924, the daughter of the late James and Hazel (Clegg) Cross. On May 22, 1949, she married Paul A. Garey in Hyde Park, Vt. He died Sept. 2, 1987.

Hilda came to Georgia Shore from Hyde Park in 1949 when she married Paul. She was a member of the Georgia Plain Baptist Church. She received many awards for her extraordinary cooking and was chosen "Mrs. Maple" twice and was selected to represent Vermont in the National Beef Cooking Contest for four years. She was a member of the St. Albans Garden Club, Georgia Historical Society, Vermont Folklore Society and a former member of the Writer's Workshop. She often cooked for Martha's Kitchen and last prepared a meal for them on Fe.b 23, 2001.

Hilda is survived by four sons, Colin T. Garey, Brian T. and Wendy Garey, Alan R. and Suzette Garey, all of Georgia, and Douglas M. and Paula Garey of Essex Jct.; four daughters, Kathleen M. and Herbert Button of Highgate, Beryl J. Champagne and her special friend Michael Hartwell of Colchester, Rachel S. and Daniel Haas of Granite Falls, N.C., and Roberta J. Garey of Georgia. She also leaves a brother and his wife Gerald and Betty Cross of So. Royalton; 16 grandchildren, Melissa and Erin Garey, Ian and Logan Garey, Nicole and Ethan Garey, Daniel Garey, Michael R. Heth, Jr., Chelsea D. Heth, Regina M. Heth, Amy B. Shedrick and her husband Carlton Shedrick, Jr., John Paul Champagne, Jonathan and his wife Shasta Haas, Benjamin D. Haas, Philip N. Haas, and Stephen N. Haas; thre egreat grandchildren, Brianna R. Rousell, David James Bordo and Cameron O.K. Heth and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Paul, and two brothers, Raymond Cross and Harold Cross, Sr.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Georgia Plain Baptist Church. Pastor Steve Clark will officiate. Interment will be this spring in the family lot in Georgia Plain Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Martha's Kitchen, Lake Street, St. Albans, VT 05478. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Heald Funeral Home, 87 So. Main St., St. Albans.

KATHERINE BLOW BAKER

SOUTH HERO -- Katherine Blow Baker, 74, of Baker Lane, died Monday evening, March 5, 2001, in the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.

Katherine was born Feb. 24, 1926 in South Hero, the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth LaPointe Blow. On Sept. 20, 1945, she was married to Claude E. Baker in St. Rose de Lima Catholic Church in South Hero.

She was a person who loved her family and enjoyed cooking, embroidery and quilt making. A loving wife, mother and grandmother she will be dearly missed by all. She leaves her husband to whom she has been married to for 55 years, Claude of South Hero and her children, Jean Prouty and her husband Ronald of Grand Isle, Joan Cota and her husband Henry, John Baker and his wife Mary, James Baker and his wife Jeri, all of South Hero, and Jeffery Baker and his fiancee Celeste Bransfield of St. Albans; her ten grandchildren, Cathie Larson, Jill Brownell, Patrick Prouty, Jennifer, Adam, Danielle, Elizabeth, Lee Michael, Brittany and Reace Baker; her great grandchildren, Shannon and Nathan Brownell, Nicholas, Jordyn and Jenelle Lawrence, Erin and Morgan Prouty, T.J. Lawrence, Samantha, Alyx, Danielle and Dakota Larson and Dylan, Joey and Shelly Bransfield; one brother, Armand Blow and his wife Kitty of South Hero and her two sisters, Marjorie Baker of South Hero and Marion Bushway and her husband Maynard of Dunnellon, Fla. She also leaves a special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Hank and Alice Baker of Essex Jct., as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant daughter Jill Ann Baker in 1963, and four brothers, T. George, Edwin, Ivan and Paul Blow.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning, March 9, 2001, at 11 a.m. in St. Rose de Lima Church in South Hero with the Reverend Philip Branon as Celebrant and Homilist.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday evening, March 8, 2001, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the St. Rose de Lima Church Hall.

Arrangements are by the Minor Funeral Home of Milton.

CHRISTOPHER SWEET ROBTOY

SWANTON, VT./LONG BEACH, CALIF. -- Christopher Sweet Robtoy, 41, died Feb. 26, 2001, in Long Beach, Calif.

He was born in Morrisville, Vt. Aug. 13, 1959, the son of Bernard R. and Hilda (Sweet) Robtoy. He attended schools in Williston and Highgate and graduated from Missisquoi Valley Union High School with the class of 1978. He worked several jobs here in Vermont and had lived the past 18 years in California. He worked in California until three years ago when he became disabled.

Besides his parents of Swanton, Chris is survived by a daughter, Felicia of Chandler, Ariz., two sisters, Bernadette Gagne of East Patchogue, N.Y., and Eunice Ann Konon and her husband Nicholas, also of East Patchogue, N.Y.; two brothers, Bernard E. and his companion Gloria of Swanton and Adrian of Franklin; four nieces, Sonya, Shana and Heather Robtoy and Tiffany Gagne; four nephews, Sean (Buddy), Jordan (Joe) and Adrian II (Pete) Robtoy and Michael Gagne; one uncle, Walter Sweet and his wife Alberta; four aunts, Laura Kenyon, Janet Osmer and her husband Harold, Donna Buchanon and Norma Louvrin and her husband Forbes; a special cousin Scott Menard and many other cousins. He also leaves many special friends in Vermont and California.

A younger sister, Penelope Pelletier predeceased him in 1991. Chris's sister, Eunice Ann was a very caring and loving sister to Chris. She helped him and took great care of her brother. Chris was a very thoughtful and loving son and will be missed forever.

A memorial service will be held in Swanton, Vt. and will be announced at a later date.

MARGARET R. PELKEY

ST. ALBANS -- Miss Margaret R. Pelkey, age 66, died Sunday evening, March 4, 2001, in Verdelle Village ECF. She was born Feb. 20, 1935, daughter of the late Walter and Alberta (Sweeney) Pelkey in St. Albans. She worked most of her life as a sales lady for Avon and numerous local stores, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Unit #758, American Legion Auxiliary Unit #1, Women of the Moose, Chapter #321, and the Ladies of St. Anne.

Her survivors include two brothers, Walter Pelkey and his wife Kathy of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Francis Pelkey and his wife Lucille of St. Albans; two sisters, Susan Hamilton of St. Albans, and Rose Miller of Mounds View, Minn.; a stepbrother, Kevin Miller and his wife Shirley of St. Albans; two special friends, Barbara Renaudette and Barbara Riley, both of St. Albans; two uncles, Arnold Pelkey and Maynard Pelkey and his wife Iris, all of St. Albans; and one brother-in-law, Alfred Zabaska of St. Albans, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Philomene Zabaska in 1985, a brother, Edward Pelkey in 1936, a sister-in-law, Constance Pelkey in 1984 and a brother-in-law, William Hamilton in 1992.

Funeral services will be held in the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St. on Thursday, March 8, 2001, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made in her memory to her family. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home.
