LAURENT M. "LARRY" LUSSIER
BERKSHIRE - Funeral services were held Saturday, May 27, 2006, at All Saints Catholic Church in Richford with Reverend Frank Eksterowicz celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Altar servers were Paul Choquette and Adam Olio. Organist was Fredda Ploof. Guitarist was Jim LeClair and soloist was Diane Lumbra.

Scripture readings were proclaimed by Larry's daughter-in-law, Michelle Lussier and son-in-law, John Vincent. Offertory gifts were presented by his granddaughters, Leslie (Conway) Lamoreaux, PVT Kimberly Conway, Dienna Stevens, and Ellen Lussier. A eulogy was given by his sister-in-law, Doris Dufresne.

Following the Mass the funeral procession was led by the Franklin County Sheriffs Department to the Berkshire Center Cemetery where Larry's former son-in-law, Tim Conway, played Bag Pipes and full military honors were accorded by the Vermont National Guard with the American flag presented to Larry's wife Bea by his grandson-in-law, 2nd Lt. Jim Lamoreaux. Pall bearers were his grandson, John Vincent; and nephews, Brent & John Lussier, Ron Sanville, Tom, Gary & Bobby Bellavance and Richard Dufresne.

During the visiting hours at the funeral home on Friday evening the Knights of Columbus Council 2610 performed a memorial service in remembrance of Larry.

Larry's family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for all the love and support shown to them during this time. They are grateful for all who stood in line at the funeral home and attended the funeral Mass to pay their respects to Larry.

Spears Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

THOMAS L. REYNOLDS
ST.ALBANS - Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at the Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Falls with Pastor Lyle Willey officiating. Many of those in attendance gave words of remembrance.

Interment followed in the West Enosburg Cemetery where the Vermont National Guard accorded Tom Military honors and presented the American flag to Tom's widow Mary.

Pall bearers were Tom's sons, Jerry, Steven & John Reynolds; cousins, Robbie Howrigan, Deborah Pohlman, Steve Brannon, and Bobby Reynolds; and family friend, Peter Martin.

Spears Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

LINDA MAE BOUCHER
MILTON - Linda Mae Boucher, 59, died Friday, May 26, 2006, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington with her loving family by her side.

Linda was born in Jeffersonville on Aug. 19, 1946, the daughter of Earl and Alice (Lamphere) Gillilan.

On Oct. 8, 1966, Linda married Alcide ìButchî Boucher in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Burlington.

She worked for the Burlington Savings Bank, which eventually evolved into the Key Bank, for over 25 years. She was presently enjoying her work in the Human Resources Department.

Linda was the center of her family. She enjoyed baking and family dinners. She loved to cook. It didn't matter for what holidays or occasion. Rarely would her family come home without being treated to fresh baked pies, brownies or treats.

Whether it be camping, motorcycling, watching tennis, horse racing or the Boston Red Sox, Linda enjoyed life. Even though she enjoyed watching professional sports, she was even happier at her sons sporting events and supporting her many nieces and nephews at theirs. She was an avid reader and also spent many years volunteering with ìNeighbors helping Neighborsî and the Vermont City Marathon. She especially looked forward to a yearly ìgirls outî trip to Atlantic City with her sister-in-laws. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her husband Butch, of over 39 years, Linda is survived by her sons, Daniel and his wife, Kathy of Georgia, and James of Franklin, N.H.; by her brothers, Lester Gillilan and his wife, Judy of Fletcher and Gary Gillilan and his wife, Sandra of Alabama; by her sisters-in-law, Lynn Gillilan, Betty Gratton, Pat Carman, Bernadette Lopresti and Judith Boucher; her dear and special friends, Takie Dean, Jo Lara; several nieces and nephews; and her Key Bank family. She was predeceased by her bothers, George and Denny Gillilan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today, May 30, 2006, at 2 p.m. in St. Joseph's Co-Cathedral in Burlington. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in Linda's name to the American Cancer Society, New England Division, 11 Loomis St., Montpelier, Vt. 05602-3021. Visiting hours were held Monday, May 29, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton.

ELIJAH ALLEN PALMER
FAIRFAX - Elijah Allen Palmer, 52, died Friday, May 26, 2006, at his home following a heart attack.

Elijah was born in St. Albans on May 30, 1953, the son of Leslie and Wanda (Chappel) Palmer.

Elijah was a lifetime Fairfax resident working alongside his father and his brothers on the family dairy farm. He graduated from BFA-Fairfax in 1971. He served in the U.S. Navy with the Seabees. He love to hunt, fish and garden and was an avid bee keeper. Elijah also enjoyed wood carving and could often be found tinkering in his workshop. He was on the Fairfax Planning Commission for nine years.

He is survived by his mother, Wanda Palmer of Fairfax; by his brothers and sisters and families, Sandra Lucia and Dwight Dimond of Bristol and her children, Skip and Wendy Lucia; Mike and Kathy Palmer of Georgia and their children, Derek and Stacey Palmer; Nancy and Gary Coon of Williston and their children, Heather Dunsmore, Gary Coon Jr., and Brandi Cote; sister-in-law, Denise Palmer of Fairfax and children, Dylan and Ben Palmer and Crystal Rozwood; Mary and Bill Meigs of St. Albans and their children, Justin and Jody Meigs; 14 great-nieces and nephews; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Elijah will now be together with his brother Dennis, who died on May 4, 2003; and his dad Leslie who died on Nov. 20, 2003. Together they spent many years managing the family farm in Fairfax.

Following Elijah's request, visiting hours and funeral services will be private. Burial will be in St. Luke's Cemetery in Fairfax.

Memorial contributions in Elijah's memory may be made to the Fairfax Rescue, P.O. Box 428, Fairfax, Vt. 05454.

Arrangements were by the Minor Funeral Home in Milton.

APRIL SUE MCKENZIE
MILTON - Mrs. April Sue McKenzie, age 46, died at her home, May 27, 2006, after a lengthy illness. She was born June 21, 1959, in Burlington, daughter of Helene Phelps. She married James McKenzie July 15, 1987. April was the Executive Housekeeper at the Doubletree Hotel, working last in October 2005.

She is survived by her husband, James, their children, David McKenzie of Milton and Samantha McKenzie of St. Albans, a grandson Zachary; her mother, Helene Miller of Milton; her sisters, Paulette Lafond and her husband, Ronald, Jean Hudson and her husband, Robert, all of Milton, and Robyn Miller of Burlington; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her step-father, Harry Phelps.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann's Church in Milton, Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in the McKenzie family lot in Resurrection Park Cemetery in South Burlington. Friends may call at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., St. Albans, from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Father John Feltz will conduct a Christian Wake Service in the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 8:45 p.m. with April's family and friends.

EDWARD RUDOLPH NUNEZ
RICHFORD - Edward Rudolph Nunez, age 75, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2006, at his home with his loving family at his side.

He was born Nov. 12, 1930, in Gilbert, Ariz., the son of the late Edward and Annie (Acosta) Nunez.

Edward was a resident of Richford most of his adult life and was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. He was employed at Blue Seal Feeds for 43 years retiring June 1, 1993. While working at Blue Seal he was also employed as a waiter at Rogers Grill for several years. Edward was a great fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants, and enjoyed watching NASCAR. He enjoyed all sports and loved to hunt and be outdoors. Most of all Ed loved to visit and reminisce about family, friends and old times. He will be remembered as having a big heart and also for his willingness to always help whenever needed.

He is survived by his wife, Janice (Gibney) Nunez of Richford, they were married June 4, 1949; his daughters, Candice Anne Corey of Richford, and Debora May Hildebrand and her husband, Jon of Stowe; a special nephew, who Ed consider his son, Terry Gibney and his wife, Judy of Richford; five grandchildren: Matthew James Corey and his wife Cindy, Saralee Macar and her husband Darren, Brian Nelson Tessier Jr., Jessica May Tessier and her companion Rusty Stevens, Travis Lee Tessier and his wife Nicole; his great-grandchildren, Ashley, Amber, Monica, Chia, Aiden, Sean Michael, McKenna and Brianna; a very special sister, Betty Carrilo of Tucson, Ariz.; a brother and his wife, Robert and Alice Reyes of San Leandro, Calif.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins in California, Arizona and Vermont. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a half sister, Rachel Reyes.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 2, 2006, at 11 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church in Richford with Rev. Theobald Richard celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 7 to 9 at the Spears Funeral Home, 140 Main St., Richford

ALFRED D. VALLEY
SWANTON - Mr. Alfred D. Valley, 87, of Dunning Street in Swanton Village, died early Sunday morning, May 28, 2006, at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans City.

ìAlî as he was affectionately known to his family and friends, was a lifelong resident of Swanton. Born in Westfield, Vt. on May 22, 1919, he was the seventh of nine children born to Alfred and Catherine (Blaise) Valley. He attended parochial schools including, St. Louis Convent in Winooski, The Society of St. Edmund's Juniorate in Swanton Village and later studied at St. Michael's College in Colchester. As a member of ì The Greatest Generation, î he faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Army during World War II, with service in The Pacific Theater, Campaign of New Caledonia and Guadal Canal. Returning from World War II he married his college sweetheart, M. Jeanette Ashley on Aug. 31, 1944. Jeanette predeceased him on Aug. 13, 2005, after 61 years of marriage.

Al retired in 1977 after an outstanding career as an inspector and supervisor with the United States Customs Service assigned to border service in Highgate Springs and Alburgh, Vt. The Valley's were well known and admired for their gardening skills, a lifelong love that brought them much recognition over the years. Al was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Edmund of Canterbury Council 7669, as well a devoted parishioner of The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary of more than 60 years, and always maintained a true volunteer spirit well beyond his retirement years.

He leaves two sisters, Margaret Valley and Sister Rita Vallee, RHSJ, both of Winooski; his daughter, Michelle and her husband Lt. Col. (Ret) Ronald Tenaglia of Fairborn, Ohio; granddaughter, Celeste Carroll and her husband, Aaron and great-grandsons, Zachary and Noah Carroll all of Venice, Fla.; grandson, Lt. Col. John Tenaglia and his wife, Holly and great-grandsons, Dustin, Lloyd and Samuel Tenaglia all of Chantilly, Va., and grandson, Christopher Tenaglia and his wife, Sarah of Sarasota, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife Jeanette, Mr. Valley was predeceased by a son, A. David Valley in 2002.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be concelebrated Friday afternoon, June 2, 2006, at 2:30 p.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 65 Canada St., Swanton. Father John J. Meagher, SSE will be the celebrant and homilist. Father Maurice U. Boucher, SSE will concelebrate. Interment will follow in the Valley family lot in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery. At the families request there will be no public calling hours.

Gifts in Al's memory may be made to the Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans 05478.

The Valley and Tenaglia families are very gratified by the remarkable professionalism and the dedicated services of the Franklin County Home Health Agency, particularly the care provided by Debbie Currier and Denise Delorme. We also wish to give special thanks to Mrs. Alma LaRocque who, as a Eucharistic Minister, faithfully brought communion to Al at his home on a very regular basis.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton 05488.

RITA MARY TERRY
GRAND ISLE - Rita Mary Terry, 58 of East Shore Road, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family and friends on Sunday afternoon, May 28, 2006, in her home, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Rita was born Nov. 24, 1947, in Swanton, the daughter of the late Albert and Thelma Russell Sears. She graduated from St. Anne's Academy in Swanton. She was employed at Thermal Wire in South Hero until 1973. She then started doing housekeeping services in the area and also kept herself busy assisting with Funeral Meals at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Rita loved to knit, crochet, cook and collect lighthouses.

On Feb. 14, 1970, she was married to Ronald ìJoeî Terry in Grand Isle. She and Joe loved traveling to the Amish Country in Pennsylvania as well as vacationing in the State of Maine.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Joe Terry of Grand Isle; her daughter, Lori Beth Terry and her fiance', Augustus DeGuise Jr. of Colchester; her two granddaughters, Jennifer Provost Hawkins and husband, Reginald of Sheldon, Michelle Provost and friend, Michael Walker of Burlington; and her great-granddaughter, Faith Ann Hawkins. She leaves her brothers and sisters, Marshall Sears and his wife, Kate of Connecticut, Marie Trahan, Robert Sears and Linda Fletcher, all of Swanton; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Judy and Tom DeMars of Grand Isle; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her daughter, Nicole Marie Terry; her brother, Albert Sears Jr.; and brothers-in-law, Richard Trahan, Winford Fletcher and Gary Terry.

The family would like to express their special thanks to all family members and special friends including the Palmer families, Paquette families and Ross Arsenault, as well as the nurses that serve the Visiting Nurse Association, Hospice Program including, Linda Lee, Nancy and Holly for all the help and compassion shown during Rita's illness. You will never be forgotten.

As per Rita's request, there will be no visiting hours. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 1, 2006, at 11 a.m. in St. Amadeus Catholic Church in Alburgh with Father Maurice Boucher as celebrant. Following the Mass all are invited to gather at the St. Amadeus Parish Center.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either Grand Isle Rescue, P.O. Box 79, Grand Isle, Vt. 05458, or South Hero Rescue, P.O. Box 365, South Hero, Vt. 05486.

Arrangements are by the Minor Funeral Home of Milton.

CARROLL M. DRAPER
ST.ALBANS - Carroll M. Draper, age 87, passed away Saturday afternoon at the Franklin County Rehab Facility in St. Albans.

He was born in Enosburgh on June 8, 1918, the son of the late John and Grace (Waite) Draper.

Carroll made his home on the Lake Road in St. Albans and had worked as a mechanic and salesman for Rob Wood in St. Albans for several years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II serving in the European Theatre. He was a member of the VFW Robert Glidden Post 758 of St. Albans. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling and spending his winters in Florida.

He is survived by his sister, Rachel Temple of Gaithersburg, Md.; a brother, Elwin Draper of Portage, Ind.; his care giver and sister-in-law, Catherine Ramsay and her husband, Bruce of St. Albans Bay; several sisters and brothers-in-law, Theresa Coon of St. Albans, Robert Coon and his wife, Kathleen of St. Albans Bay, Bernard Coon and his wife, Margaret of St. Albans, Johnson Coon of Naugatuck, Conn., Stuart Coon and his wife, Helen of Chesapeake, Va., Maria Coon of Meriden, Conn., Henry Coon and his wife, Sandy of St. Albans Bay, Dale Coon and his wife, Marcia of St. Albans, Sterling Coon and his wife, Janet of Fairfax, Keith Coon and his wife, Paula of Milton, and Gregory Coon and his wife, Beatrice of Swanton; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Violet (Coon) Draper in 1990, they were married March 14, 1947; an infant daughter, Barbara Draper; his brother, Robert Draper; his father and mother-in-law, Henry and Gertrude (Cross) Coon; and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Orlando Coon, Bruce Coon and his wife Wilma, Gerald Coon, Maurice Coon, Joyce Coon, and Theresa Coon.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the Missisquoi Cemetery in Enosburg Falls with Pastor Elizabeth Griffin officiating. There will be no visiting hours.
