Clyde L Bowen, 88, of Richland, passed away on December 15 at Tri-Cites Chaplaincy Hospice House. He was born on May 17, 1915 in Spokane, WA to Henry and Emma Bowen.
He lived in the Tri-City area for 59 years and worked as a reactor operator for United Nuclear Corp. Clyde was a member of the Riverview Baptist Church in Pasco where he had many dear and faithful friends.
Clyde is survived by his wife Susie Bowen; son Richard Bowen; daughter Pat Hetrick of Aumsville, OR; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Louise Bowen and daughter Izetta Paulson.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday December 18 at 2:00pm at Riverview Baptist Church followed by a internment at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Richland.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 1:00-2:00pm prior to the service.

Myrtle Marie Lang
November 29, 1918 - September 24, 2003

Myrtle (Myrt) Lang passed away suddenly at her home, in Richland, on Sept. 24th.
Myrtle was born in Scobey, Montana on November 29, 1918 to the late John and Alice Reid. The family moved to Washington State living in Moxee and eventually settling in Prosser, WA, where Myrtle graduated from Prosser High School in 1938.
She met and married the late Fred B. Lang in 1940 in Yakima, WA and continued to live in the Yakima valley until moving to the Tri-Cities in the late 1940's. She worked for JA Jones Construction Battelle and retired from WPPS.
She was known as the "Queen of Hearts" by her family and those who experienced her love of card playing! It was always known that Myrt was born with a deck of cards in her hands! She could be found playing bridge, pinoccle, poker and cribbage on a weekly basis. She taught her daughters and grandkids how to play and they loved to challenge her at every turn.
Bingo was another favorite pastime of hers. She had been an avid bowler until about three years ago, when her health didn't allow her to bowl anymore. Before she quit bowling, she and her partner won the State Seniors' Doubles tournament.
Myrt was known as a "classy" lady with a wonderful warm smile and a great sense of humor and enjoyed life everyday.
Her grandkids were the center of her world and she loved to be around them, so three years ago she treated them all to a Mexican Riviera Cruise, and as recent as a week ago had planned another cruise for them to Alaska next August/2004. This was her way of being able to enjoy her time and good fortunes with them.
Myrt will be deeply missed by her family and all of her very special friends, but she will never be forgotten and living in our hearts forever.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Gallagher and husband Jim of Bellevue, WA -sister, Ethel Martin(Midland, TX)-brothers, Chet Reid (Vancouver, WA)Richard Reid (Prosser, WA). Grandsons: Danny Vetsch, Damon Vetsch, Steven Vetsch (Lynn), John Youngquist (Shelley), Jeff Youngquist (Kelly), James Youngquist (Stacy). Step-grandsons: Jim Gallagher and Michael Gallagher (Roxanne). Granddaughters: Paula Palmer (Byron) and LeAnn Vetsch. Plus, 15 great-grandchildren and several sister and brothers-in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Fred B. Lang; daughter, Janet Youngquist; one step-grandson, Kelly Gallagher and 2 sisters Mabel and Nellie and a brother John.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to: Richland Senior Assoc. at 1015 Perkins/Richland, WA 98352 or American Diabetes Association, PO Box 375 Richland, WA 99352.
Services will be held at Einan's Funeral Home on Friday, Oct. 3, 2003 at 2 pm.(Viewing on Thurs. October 2 from 5pm to 8pm and on Friday October 3 from l0am to 2pm). A 'Celebration of Myrtle's Life' reception will be held at the Shiloh Inn following the services. Interment will be held Saturday, October 4th at l0am in Prosser, WA at the Prosser cemetery located on Paterson Road.

Mary Kathleen "Mickey" Hubbard
July 29, 1936 - September 29, 2003

Mary Kathleen "Mickey" Hubbard, age 67, was called to the Lord on September 29, 2003. Mickey was born on July 29, 1936 in Meadville, PA to Raymond A. and Kathryn F. Dykes. She graduated high school in Corry, PA in 1954 and immediately entered the Spencer Nursing School where she received her diploma in 1957. Her family moved to Richland, WA in 1960 where she met and married Ray E. Hubbard in August 1961.
Mickey loved the nursing profession, continuing to work up until her passing. During her career she worked for Dr.' s Franco & Flanagan, Dr. McCartney, and was currently working with Dr. Shallman' s office in Pasco. She gave of herself freely and willingly to all who entered her life, never asking for anything in return. She touched the lives of many of her patients and will be remembered fondly by those she cared for.
Mickey devoted her life to her family and their happiness. She was deeply involved in her children and grandchildren's lives. She coached soccer and softball, was involved in Brownies, and later in life enjoyed attending her grandchildren's soccer, baseball and basketball games. She received great satisfaction watching her grandchildren in ballet, and performing the piano. She loved going to her property at Deer Lake with her family and relaxing, enjoying the sun, and playing with her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed playing Bingo with her granddaughters and participating in the 4th of July parade at the Lake.
Mickey enjoyed her ladies investment group TWIG and made many lasting friendships during her involvement with the group, she also served as the group's historian. Mom loved music, and played the organ most of her adult life. Christmas just won't be the same without mom playing carols and everyone singing around her on the organ.
Mom had a real sense of family and made each holiday a memorable occasion for all. Her bright smile and uplifting presence will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched. Mom, we love you and miss you, but know that your spirit lives on in your children and grandchildren.
Mom's was a special soul and always made each day brighter. She lived by a simple creed and often repeated it to her children; "Treat everyone you meet with kindness and respect, because you never know, they may have been an angel placed here by God."
Mickey is survived by her husband Ray E. Hubbard of Kennewick; three children, Christine A. Welch of Kennewick, Tim J. and wife Jennifer J. Hubbard of Kennewick, and Katherine S. Hubbard of Portland, OR.; three step-children, Keri and husband Edward Rutledge of Anchorage, AK, Ray Hubbard of Bend, OR, Sandra and husband Bobby Spivey of Long Beach, WA. Mickey is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Alyssa, Michael, and Ashley Hubbard, Kylee and Hailey Welch, Dr. Jaime Butler and husband Sean Cardinal, Ashley Claeson, Molly and Delaney Bowles, Jill, Justin, and Jason Spivey, Wesley Hubbard, and one great-grandchild Tyler Claeson.
She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond A. and Kathryn F. Dykes, and brother Daniel R. Dykes.
Viewing will be Friday, October 3, 2003 at Einan's Funeral Home (Swift Blvd. & Hwy. 240, Richland, WA) from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A Rosary service will be held at 6:00 pm at Einan's Funeral Home immediately following the viewing.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2003 at Einan's Funeral Home at 10:00 am with interment at Resthaven cemetery (Richland, WA) immediately following the funeral service.

Floyd Austin Robbins
November 19, 1936 - September 27, 2003

Our precious love, Floyd Austin Robbins, is now playing golf in Heaven with his Savior, Jesus Christ.
He was born to Walter M. and Mildred (Groce) Robbins on November 19, 1936, in Alliance Nebraska, and passed away suddenly at age 66, from a massive heart attack. He died at his home of the past 15 years, in Benton City, with his one true love, his wife Loretta Robbins at his side on Saturday, September 27th 2003 at 12:40 p.m.
One of Floyd's greatest delights was spending time with family and friends doing a variety of activities including camping, golfing, bowling, fishing, and going to various car races. Floyd loved cars and was an excellent mechanic – he could fix just about anything. He enjoyed Country music, especially of the 50’s and 60’s.
He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He believed and taught that all children are precious gifts to enjoy to the fullest and he dearly loved playing with and watching them.
Floyd grew up in Alliance, Nebraska where he worked the family farm and attended school. He joined the United States Navy February 1, 1957 and served as a Radioman. At age 18 he met his sweetheart Loretta (Heath – of Pavilion, Wyoming) in Moses Lake, WA. They were married on April 19, 1958, in Quincy, WA. In 1961 they moved to Seattle, WA where he obtained his GED, attended college; completing 2 years in Electronics, and raised their three children. He worked as a Cabinet Builder, Watch Repairman (attended National Watch Repairman’s Institute and was certified), and for the last 15 years, as a Washington State Corrections Officer for the Tri-City Work Release facility in Pasco, WA. Floyd took serious pride in his work and did not call in for even one sick day in all his years of working.
Floyd loved life and lived every moment of each day to it’s absolute fullest. Golf was his passion and he was a member of the West Richland Municipal Golf Course, where he golfed nearly every morning “at the crack of dawn”. He loved to travel to visit family and friends and especially liked to go to Las Vegas, NV and Florida. He was known for his honesty, loyalty, integrity, sense of humor, generosity, and loving heart. He absolutely loved the outdoors and living in the country, appreciating greatly all that the Father had blessed him with.
Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 45 years; Loretta Robbins, son; Shawn Robbins, daughter; Robin Renee’ Robbins-Whitten, son-in-law; Mark Whitten, grandchildren; Austin and Brandon Whitten, Cortni & Tori Robbins (Malek), 2 brothers, 2 sisters, 3 half-sisters, 4 half-brothers, Step-mother; Pat Robbins, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many loving friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and his beloved son; Curtis Scott Robbins.
Dad/Pappa – we will miss you terribly, but we are honored to have known such a true man as you and to have been blessed with your never ending love. We will carry you in our hearts always and we cannot wait to see you again when we enter those Heavenly Gates.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 2nd at Einan’s Funeral Home, Inc. in Richland, WA. Veteran’s Graveside salute to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Reception following; at West Richland Municipal Golf Course 11:00 a.m.
There will be visitation on Wednesday October 1stt, from 4 p.m.- 8 p.m. at Einan’s Funeral Home.

Donald 'Don' Woodrow Vaughn
August 23, 1923 - September 24, 2003

Donald Woodrow Vaughn, 80, a Richland resident since 1945. He was born August 23, 1923, in Ogden, Utah, and died Wednesday, September 24, 2003, in Kennewick, Washington. His parents were George Robert Vaughn and Ellis Rice (Ruth) Bybee Vaughn. He attended the Ogden schools and graduated from Ogden High.
Don was a quality assurance auditor for ANF/Siemens, retiring in 1987. Don worked in the nuclear field as a Hanford Patrolman in the outer areas and in the metal preparations at the 300 area.
Don served with the 1st Battalion 517 Parachute Combat Team Co. A. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.
Don married Jacqualine Henning February 3, 1950. Four children blessed this union, Deborah, Gwendolyn, Rebecca, and Leon. As sometimes is the case, Jackie and Don parted. Don later met Juanita Williams and they married August 15, 1975. He chose this date, the anniversary of the big jump into Southern France.
Don was blessed with a dear friend, Vick Black. They enjoyed playing tennis for many years. Don rode his Harley while young and single, loved to swim, bow hunt, fish and bowl. Don was blessed with exceptional gift of balance and timing that allowed him to learn to snow ski at age 62. Don and Juanita enjoyed skiing Utah and Washington.
Don was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Don is survived by his wife, Juanita and her daughter, Kathie (Chuck) Carpenter, Benton City. Daughters, Deborah (Brion) Robinson, Taylorsville, UT., Gwendolyn Koehnen, Richland, Leon Vaughn, Richland, 15 Grandchildren 3 Great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
preceded in death by his parents and daughter Rebecca Bladow, brothers George, Kimball, Raymond, Douglas and sisters Berneice and Bertha.
Viewing will be Sunday September 28, 2003, at Einan's Funeral Home from 4:00 pm to 7:00pm.
Funeral Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Gage . Blvd. Monday September 29, 2003, at 2:00 pm.
The family will meet with friends and family one hour before services in the Relief Society Room. Internment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House, 2108 W. Entiat, Kennewick, W A 99336.

Noreen Mildred Houston
November 30, 1924 - October 09, 2003

Noreen Houston, 78, passed away after a lengthy illness with her family by her side on Thursday, October 9, 2003. She was born on November 30, 1924 in Toppenish Washington to LeRoy (Johnny) and Emily Sutton where she grew up and graduated from Toppenish High School in 1942.
She married Mack Houston on October 12, 1943. In 1965 they moved to Richland, Washington to support the family business and to raise her children. She was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was actively involved in the interests and activities of her children and grandchildren. She was very artistic and expressed herself in her oil paintings but mostly enjoyed playing her piano for her family. Noreen and Mack enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, the Oregon Coast and dining out.
She was preceded in death by her parents Johnny and Emily Sutton, her brother Robert Sutton and her loving husband, Mack Houston. She is survived by her sister, Alair Wentz (Tony), brother Loy Sutton (Nellie), her children Dan Houston (Kris), Sharman Parsons (Rick), Leslee Houston, grandchildren, Brandt Houston, Cam Houston, Shaley McGuire (Michael), Erynn Reyes (Victor), Courtney Deacy (Fred), Jessica Blankenship (Mark), Mackenzie Huntsman, Garrett Houston, Kody Houston and one great grandchild, Dakota Huntsman.
Funeral Services will be held at Einan's Funeral Home in Richland at 2:00pm on Tuesday, October 14, 2003 followed by interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Randal Mark "Randy" Bell (Webb)
October 29, 1952 - October 07, 2003

Randy Bell, 50, died Tuesday, October 7, 2003, after many years of heart related health problems. He was born in Van Wert, OH on October 29, 1952, to Harry S. and Ilo M. Bell. Randy moved to the Tri-Cities in 1954 where he lived until his death.
He spent his childhood in Richland and attended Richland Schools.
He was employed by Bechtel and worked on construction projects in Africa for three years. He later worked as a laborer for various Hanford contractors. He was eventually forced into early retirement by disabling health problems.
Randy bought a small parcel of land in Franklin County, planted apple trees and began a second career as an orchardist. Randy, his business partner Robert Hendrickson Jr., Randy's wife Nancy McMurray worked the orchard and marketed their fruit as "Orchard Boys and Girl." He enjoyed working in the orchard but eventually sold it in 2002 and became fully retired.
Randy married Nancy McMurray and had twenty happy years together. Their son Tyler Samuel Bell was born on October 23, 1983. Randy was a life-long baseball fan. He enjoyed his time spent coaching youth baseball. He and his son Tyler spent hours together playing catch and improving Tyler's baseball skills. Randy and Nancy eventually grew apart and divorced, yet maintained a loving relationship as a family.
Randy was from a large family and nothing meant more to him than his relationships with his parents, bothers and sisters. Randy brought other relatives such as in-laws and nieces and nephews into his close family circle. Randy loved to cook and often scheduled lavish meals with big family gatherings. His many friends looked forward to dinner invitations from Randy.
Randy was generous to a fault and had a giving spirit. He was generous in his relationships with his close friends. He loved dogs, cats and other animals. He always had a special dog such as Zeke, Libby and CoCo Bell and his 7 current cats.
Randy loved to hunt and fish spent many hours in the field with his lab Zeke and his friends.
Randy felt blessed to be able to renew an old friend Debbie Lee. Randy and Debbie shared three wonderful loving years together. They traveled together, attended concerts and especially enjoyed riding their motorcycles. Randy loved Debbie deeply and felt lucky their relationship had come at this point in his life. Randy developed a close relationship with Debbie's children Zack, Leah and Ashia. Also Randy and Debbie enjoyed traveling to visit their son Tyler in Curlew and Seattle. Randy treasured the new relationships with Debbie's children, parents, brothers and sisters.
For the last couple of years Randy became very active and a valued member of the Richland Fellowship. This relationship strengthened Randy as well as providing a service to the Fellowship. Randy became active in counseling young adults who had found trouble in their lives. Not only was Randy's counseling valuable to those he counseled, but also provided Randy a great deal of satisfaction.
Randy was preceded in death by his mother, Ilo M. Webb, his father Harry S. Bell, and stepfather Lionel F. (Spider) Webb; brothers Dennis O. Brown and Terry Lee Webb.
Randy leaves behind his wife Debbie, his son Tyler and his stepchildren, Leah Lee, Zack Lang and Ashia Lang. He is also survived by his sisters Bonnie Roe (Bill) and Vicki Beahm (Chuck) and his brothers Gary L. Webb, Kevin Bell. In addition he will be missed by his sisters-in-law Mary Lou Aeschliman and Jackie Apple. Brothers-in-law Eric (Danielle) Lukins and Kurtiss (Shannon) Lukins; sisters-in-law Ruth (Tim) Stezcker, Sherill (Tom) Collins, Deanne (Mike) Wingart; mother and father-in-law Jerald & Sandra Lukins, grandmother Hazel Curry, former wife Nancy McMurray-Bell and 9 nieces and 15 nephews, 36 grandnieces and grandnephews.
Randy will be missed by his special friends Mike Manley, Tommy Far, James Acker, Kenny Johnson, Ron Griswold, Doug Walker, Andy W., Bill W. and all his dear friends from the Richland Fellowship.
Funeral services will be held at Einan's Funeral Home in Richland at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 11, 2003, with viewing from 9am-2pm.
In Randy's memory donations may be made to the American Heart Assoc. or a charity of your choice.
